[EN]CONTEST! | My 2020: just a normal day in the life of a retiree. Could you live it similar in the future?

Review by @janaveda · 2389d · of The Contest

Hello dear friends,

We are again in an interesting contest hosted by @anomadsoul, sponsored by @ocd-witness and @blocktrades who will support quality posts. Thank you very much to all.

Talking about what a regular day in your life should be like is simple, obviously it is determined by the circumstances at the stage of the road where you are on the journey of life. Therefore, it is not the same to be in the period between: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and for the strongest, after 80 years of your life.

In this sense, this contest becomes very interesting, because it will present instant radiographs of unique perspectives of the life of some of those who travel along these paths within the community.

People often complain about leading a routine and boring life, perhaps that's why they are captivated by television and film fictions, and in that sense, they admire heroic characters and their deeds, they see themselves identified coming out of the routine. For many years, I myself was a slave of the silly box, after returning daily from an absorbing work environment, I used to sit for long hours in front of the TV losing myself that way, the real world, including weekends.

TV shows and movies have nothing wrong with themselves, do they? I think it is a good question to reflect at another time, however, from my own experience I feel obliged to recommend not to obnubilate the minds or fall addicted to these means.

Good! With this in mind, I tell you that a decade ago, a normal day in my life, I started at 05:00 with much trouble to get to work on time, a journey of 40 kilometers that lasted up to two hours in heavy traffic listening , first the summary of the news on the FM radio and then a lot of music from my Ipod Touch, today damaged. Already at work, the activities and meetings generally occupied me between eight and twelve hours in the office until I returned to late at night to avoid the dense traffic of return (rush hour) to the home. Watch some TV until I fall asleep and resume the routine the next day.

I must confess to you, I had always thought about the probability of the collapse of the systems that sustain our society form, and if the pension system fails? In my country, Venezuela, the pension system has not collapsed or ceased to function as such, it is simply outdated with the harsh economic reality making it insufficient to support those who worked hard in their youth, this situation would give much information to write a post. What I want to tell you, is that, the kind of life I imagined at this stage of life is diametrically different with my current reality.

But is it totally bad? Of course not! Today I also got up regularly at 05:00 to go to the kitchen to wash the dirty dishes, taking advantage of the daily supply of rationed water for two hours. In this sense, I am fortunate, but not compliant, when comparing myself to other compatriots who for months and even years must carry water to their homes because it does not flow through the pipes of the areas where they reside.

Then he checked on my computer if there are messages from some of my relatives in the self-imposed exile, my mother now lives in the United States at the house of one of my sister, two of my children now reside in neighboring countries of South America, so the Family sharing has become virtual.

My wife from 08:00 works miracles to prepare breakfast with the few ingredients that we managed to buy with the diminished income that enter the home, but thank God so far it has not been missing, although sometimes we have consumed less than Three recommended meals a day.

On February 5, I will be six months in the Steem community as a content creator, and in fact, it is now my main activity whose rewards have somewhat mitigated the crisis.

Since then, I spend a lot of time browsing the world of Steem, learning and enjoying very interesting publications according to my own interests. I research and prepare the publications I try to upload every day. I mainly report on interesting places visited based on the photographs taken, obviously I have already used up my photographic memories, as a result, we, who are at home, have agreed to take walks in nearby places that do not have (little) diffusion in our community.

On the other hand, my beautiful wife believes that I write well, so she recommends me to write, in that sense, I have published short fiction stories in search of a niche in the great and excellent community of writers present here.

Also, to the extent that my articles have been rewarded by the community, my sincere thanks to everyone, I have also invited to my immediate environment to be integrated into the Steem blockchain, consequently, I share both my rewarding experiences as well as the frustrating ones, and I give them an initial advice based on what I have learned so far so that they are as successful as possible on the platform.

Many times the night has surprised me, time flies when you enjoy an activity, the problems that previously overwhelmed you go to the background. It is obvious that currently, the value of the rewards is low and will not make you a millionaire, but I assure you that in our case, it has come to us in a timely manner.

I have learned that you can live with little. Before, I thought about Africa, how is it possible that in Africa many live with $ 1 a day? Now, in my country with immense resources, until recently prosperous, many of my brothers live with a minimum salary of Bs. 450,000.00, that is, $ 5.81 per month ($ 0.19 per day). If we express it in terms of the cryptocurrency of our community, it would be a little more than one Steem a day. The answer is obvious, people take advantage of any opportunity and many emigrate in search of a better life and send remittances to those who stayed.

I would have liked to show you a day full of glamor and unusual color, but for now that is my reality. However, I am grateful for every day that I live, in the past I had a greater economic slack directly proportional to the darkness of my days, now it is inversely proportional, that is to say with less resources, even today it is brighter when I move away from the system traditional .

Now I understand retirement in a different way, and I want to share my new perspective with you, who will surely be a little younger than me. In truth, you retire from a stage of your life, but as long as it is useful to help others, you will never stop being active, you will only enter a new stage in your valuable life until the hour of your death comes.

Just a normal day in 2020

Hola estimados amigos,
