Hola amigos, buenas vibras para todos.

Can you imagine seeing a movie that was written, designed, animated and even directed by the same person? - Well, that's Cencoroll. In fact, in this review we will talk about his two films, the first one from 2009 and the second one from ten years later. The detail here is that in the second installment comes again what we saw in the first one, which is only 25 minutes, so if you are going to see it, I recommend you to watch the one from 2019 so you don't waste your time. I guess this was done by the author as a reminder since it had been a long time. And well yes, for a movie that came from a single person, it must be said that it is very well done, both in animation and plot.

Ustedes se imaginan ver una película la cual haya sido escrita, diseñada, animada y hasta dirigida por una misma persona? - pues esa es Cencoroll. De hecho dentro de esta reseña hablaremos de sus dos films, el primero del 2009 y el segundo de diez años después. El detalle acá es que en la segunda entrega viene nuevamente lo que vimos en la primera que son solo 25 minutos por lo que si la van a ver les recomiendo que vean la del 2019 para que no pierdan el tiempo. Supongo que esto lo hizo el autor a manera de recordatorio ya que había pasado mucho tiempo. Y bueno si, para ser una película que vino de una sola persona hay que decir que está muy bien hecha, tanto en animación como en trama.

This is the story of Tetsu, a student who has in his possession a strange and amorphous creature which he controls by telepathy. These white creatures have been appearing all over the city, it is not well known what they are so Tetsu wants to keep secret that he has in Cenco, so he named it. One fine day a young girl quite perceptive and nosy called Yuki realizes the presence of Cenco since one of its powers is that it can take any form and it notices it in the form of a bicycle. From here begins a blackmailing relationship between the two of them in order to keep the secret hidden.

Esta es la historia de Tetsu, un estudiante que tiene en su poder a una criatura extraña y amorfa a la cual controla mediante telepatía. Estas criaturas blancas han estado apareciendo por toda la ciudad, no se sabe muy bien que son por lo que Tetsu quiere mantener en secreto que posee en Cenco, así le puso de nombre. Un buen día una joven bastante perspicaz y entrometida llamada Yuki se da cuenta de la presencia de Cenco ya que uno de sus poderes es que puede adoptar cualquier forma y ello lo nota en forma de bicicleta. A partir de acá comienza una relación medio chantajista entre ellos dos con el fin de que el secreto siga oculto.

This is not the end of the story and in the middle of a discussion between them appears Shu, another controller who is looking to take over Cenco, which starts a rivalry that we will see throughout the film. The thing is that Shu belongs to a kind of group that regulates these creatures so we will also see a bit of that. When I decide to see these things I do it because I know that among so many movies of this style that there are many of them have to be worth it; this one in specific I think it is worth it. I was surprised by how entertaining it is and it even has the luxury of including plot twists in its plot that really add a lot to the depth of it.

Aquí no acaba todo y es que en medio de una discusión entre ellos aparece Shu, otro controlador que lo que está buscando es hacerse con Cenco por lo que da inicio a una rivalidad que veremos a lo largo del film. El tema es que Shu pertenece a una especie de grupo que regula a estas criaturas por lo que también se verá un poco de eso. Cuando decido ver estas cosas lo hago porque que se que entre tantas películas de este estilo que hay muchas de ellas tienen que valer la pena; esta en especifico creo que lo vale. Me sorprendió lo entretenida que es y es que hasta se da el lujo de incluir plot twist en su trama que la verdad aportan mucho a la profundidad de la misma.

At no time was I bored, it's a pretty simple and imaginative science fiction, obviously, but at the same time it has its share of action that gives life to the film. It's cool because it's not only about these creatures but also about the connection there can be with people, and with Tetsu and Cenco you can see how deep-rooted that relationship is. I think it also goes a little bit on an emotional level, they respond slightly to that so it can be a little bit more unpredictable. At some point there is a brief drama that softens things and that is necessary. It's really a very complete film, as I always say: less is more.

En ningún momento me aburrí, es una ciencia ficción bastante simple e imaginativa, obviamente, pero que al mismo tiempo tiene sus cuotas de acción que le dan vida a la película. Es cool porque no solo se trata de estas criaturas sino de la conexión que puede llegar haber con las personas y es que con Tetsu y Cenco se nota lo arraigado de esa relación. Creo que también va un poco a nivel emocional, ellas responden ligeramente a eso cosa que puede que haya todo un poco más impredecible. En algún momento hay un breve drama que suaviza las cosas y que son necesarios. En realidad es un film muy completo, como siempre digo: menos es más.

The animation is very well done taking into account all the above mentioned, it was produced by Aniplex, these people are very big in Japan, that's why the final result was so good. It has basic details but with the use of perspective they are lost, this does not detract from its quality, on the contrary, I think it makes it unique. It is very fluid, it is easy to see and understand, there are moments where you doubt if this was really made by one person. I'm glad I got this gem, it's always kind of random to start watching these movies but luckily almost always the result is very good.

La animación está muy bien lograda teniendo en cuenta todo lo comentado, fue producida por Aniplex, esta gente es muy grande en Japón, de ahí a que el resultado final haya sido tan bueno. A nivel de trazos y de diseño si se nota tosca pero en una forma muy cool, tiene detalles básicos pero con el uso de la perspectiva se pierden, esto no le resta calidad, al contrario, creo que la hace única. Es muy fluida, es fácil de ver y entender, hay momentos en donde dudas si de verdad esto lo hizo una sola persona. Estoy contento de haber conseguido esta joya, siempre es una especie de azar el ponerme a ver estas películas pero por suerte casi siempre el resultado es muy bueno.

It lasts about an hour and 15 minutes, it goes by fast so it is quite enjoyable. I recommend it, everything is very cool. With this title you are always waiting for the announcement of the third part because it is understood that there will be a sequel. I don't expect it soon because it took 10 years to wait for the second part. If you want to see something different and get out of the classic anime, this movie is the best option. Dura como una hora 15 minutos, se pasa rápido por lo que se disfruta bastante. La recomiendo, está muy cool todo. Con este título pasa que siempre se está esperando el anuncio de la tercera parte porque se entiende que habrá una continuación. Yo no la espero pronto ya que fueron 10 años los que se tuvieron que esperar para la segunda parte. Si quieres ver algo diferente y salir de lo clásico de todos los días en el anime, pues esta película es la mejor opción. Les dejo el tráiler por acá abajo.
