En Hollywood han habido parejas que siempre han hecho como match por el nivel de química que hay entre las dos partes pero no me malinterpreten, no hablo a nivel personal sino enteramente en la gran pantalla. Jennifer Aniston y Adam Sandler son el ejemplo perfecto de ello, que estén en un proyecto es garantía que este será de calidad por la cantidad absurda de carisma que irradian los dos juntos a la ahora de actuar y sin dejar de mencionar y no menos importante, son dos grandes actores; la gente tiene sus dudas con Adam pero yo no, es un tipo que todo lo que hace lo hace de diez. Murder Mystery en la continuación de aquel film del 2019 del mismo nombre en donde la pareja se vio involucrada en una serie de asesinatos estando de vacaciones. En esta oportunidad seguimos con el mismo formato en donde las risas no faltarán.
In Hollywood there have been couples that have always been a match because of the level of chemistry between the two parties but don't get me wrong, I'm not talking on a personal level but entirely on the big screen. Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler are the perfect example of this, being in a project is a guarantee that it will be of quality because of the absurd amount of charisma that they both radiate together when acting and not to mention and not least, they are two great actors; people have their doubts with Adam but I don't, he is a guy that does a great job in everything he does. Murder Mystery in the continuation of that 2019 film of the same name where the couple was involved in a series of murders while on vacation. This time we continue with the same format where the laughs will not be lacking.
Cuando le di play para verla sabía exactamente lo que me iba a encontrar, viendo a los protagonistas y al elenco que hay que decir que me sorprendió bastante, tenía claro que dentro de la comedia muy típica de Sandler habría cierta calidad. En el elenco hay gente como Mélanie Laurent, la famosa Shoshanna de Bastardos sin Gloria y Enrique Arce quien es el recordado Arturo Román en la Casa de Papel. Nombres diversos para darle vida a una película que siendo el rol cómico su centro tiene mucha acción de buena ejecución y muy digna de ver, otra de las cosas que me sorprendieron bastante. Así que bueno, sin más hablemos un poco más de esta nueva entrega de Netflix.
When I played the movie I knew exactly what I was going to find, seeing the main characters and the cast, which I must say surprised me a lot, I was sure that within the very typical Sandler's comedy there would be some quality. In the cast there are people like Mélanie Laurent, the famous Shoshanna from Bastardos sin Gloria and Enrique Arce who is the remembered Arturo Román in La Casa de Papel. Diverse names to give life to a movie that being the comic role its center has a lot of action of good execution and very worth seeing, another of the things that surprised me a lot. So, without further ado, let's talk a little more about this new Netflix release.
Esto da comienzo con Nick y Aubrey Spitz (Adam Sandler y Jennifer Aniston) quienes en esta ocasión son detectives después de todo lo ocurrido en la primera entrega. Están comenzando en ese mundo por lo que su agencia de detectives no ha tenido el inicio que ellos esperaban por más que lo están intentando. Para salir un poco del estancamiento en el que están sumergidos deciden ir al matrimonio del maharajá, quien es gran amigo de ellos, el cual se va a realizar en una isla privada increíblemente exótica. Todo cambia cuando en plena ceremonia de bodas este rey es secuestrado en las narices de todos causando una conmoción importante por lo que todo muy rápidamente se convierte en un caos.
This begins with Nick and Aubrey Spitz (Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston) who this time are detectives after everything that happened in the first installment. They are just starting out in that world so their detective agency hasn't gotten off to the start they were hoping for no matter how hard they are trying. To get out of the stagnation in which they are immersed, they decide to go to the marriage of the maharajah, who is a great friend of theirs, which is going to take place in an incredibly exotic private island. Everything changes when in the middle of the wedding ceremony this king is kidnapped under the noses of everyone causing a major commotion so that everything quickly turns into chaos.
Evidentemente esto se convierte en un problema ya que todo esto escala a ser una disputa internacional debido a que por diferentes cosas de aquella isla saltamos a las calles de Paris. La trama empieza con esta pareja tratando de resolver este caso, sin saberlo hacer muy bien la verdad, pero con la intención valiendo mucho que es lo que al final importa. Digo esto porque la inexperiencia y la torpeza están a la orden del día pero esto no les quitará las ganas de demostrar que ellos si son capaces de poder resolver este caso que además se vuelve un poco personal ya que el secuestrado es gran amigo de ellos. Es un film en donde la mano de Sandler se nota mucho por el tipo de humor que se maneja, si has visto una película de él antes sabrás a que me refiero, yo como soy muy fanático de él esta película la disfruté lo suficiente.
Evidently this becomes a problem since all this escalates into an international dispute because of different things from that island we jump to the streets of Paris. The plot begins with this couple trying to solve this case, without knowing how to do it very well to be honest, but with the intention being worth a lot, which is what matters in the end. I say this because inexperience and clumsiness are the order of the day but this will not take away their desire to prove that they are capable of solving this case that also becomes a little personal because the kidnapped is a great friend of theirs. It is a film where Sandler's hand is very noticeable by the type of humor that is handled, if you have seen a movie of his before you will know what I mean, as I am a big fan of his this film I enjoyed it enough.
Para explicarles mejor el como es esta película imaginen el juego de "Sospecha", aquel en donde había que descubrir quien había sido el culpable, en donde y con que arma. Basicamente los sospechosos son parte del circulo interno del maharajá por lo que a medida que va avanzando el film se van abriendo puertas y pistas para ir descartando que manos pueden estar metidas en este problema. Todos tienen motivos por lo que uno mismo como espectador también juega a ir deduciendo quien puede ser; todos actúan de forma rara por que saben cosas pero por miedo a la incriminación prefieren guardar silencio. Esto ocurre en un ambiente en donde la comedia absurda y situaciones en donde Aniston y Sandler son fuertes son el epicentro de todo.
To better explain how this film is, imagine the game of "Clue", the one where you had to find out who was the culprit, where and with what weapon. Basically the suspects are part of the inner circle of the maharajah, so as the film progresses, doors and clues are opened to rule out which hands could be involved in this problem. All of them have motives, so as a spectator you also play at deducing who it could be; they all act strangely because they know things but for fear of incrimination they prefer to keep silent. This takes place in an environment where absurd comedy and situations where Aniston and Sandler are strong are the epicenter of everything.
Con esa comedia me refiero a las interacciones entre ellos que es algo muy característico en sus películas, son unos diálogos totalmente aleatorios o random que se salen completamente del hilo de la historia y divagan y divagan hasta que de la nada aterrizan de nuevo y continúan en la trama; esto es muy común en ellos y a pocos les sale bien y en realidad si llega a ser bastante cómico, personalmente me sacaron un par de risas genuina. Muchas veces este tipo de película pueden llegar a ser muy de lo mismo al punto de cansar, no niego que esto no pase acá un poco pero rápidamente sus protagonistas salvan los muebles con alguna escena muy típicas de ellos y como que la atención o la chispa se vuelve a encender.
With that comedy I mean the interactions between them which is something very characteristic in their films, they are totally random dialogues that are completely out of the thread of the story and ramble and ramble until out of nowhere they land again and continue in the plot; this is very common in them and few of them get it right and actually if it becomes quite funny, personally I got a couple of genuine laughs out of them. Many times this type of movie can become very much of the same to the point of tiring, I do not deny that this does not happen here a little but quickly its protagonists save the furniture with a scene very typical of them and the attention or the spark is kindled again.
Pero como dije no todo es comedia. Hay una parte importante de esta película que es de acción, una que está muy bien lograda si me lo preguntan. Persecuciones, combates cuerpo a cuerpo, explosiones, escenas que parecen ser de alto riesgo; una combinación de muchas cosas que lo que hace es que el film tenga otra cara que no solo sean las risas sino que tenga mucha más sustancia y cuerpo y que al final no te aburras con solo actuaciones superficiales. Detrás de esto también viene de la mano una tensión la cual va en paralelo con estas escenas ya que como dije la acción es muy buena, se vive con mucha adrenalina. Que no te confunda el hecho de que por los actores que hay no sea un contenido de calidad en ese departamento; un libro no se puede juzgar por su portada.
But as I said it's not all comedy. There is an important part of this film that is action, one that is very well done if you ask me. Chases, hand to hand combat, explosions, scenes that seem to be high risk; a combination of many things that makes the film have another side that is not only the laughs but has much more substance and body and that in the end you do not get bored with only superficial performances. Behind this also comes a tension which goes hand in hand with these scenes because as I said the action is very good, it is lived with a lot of adrenaline. Don't be confused by the fact that because of the actors it's not quality content in that department; a book can't be judged by its cover.
En cuanto a los personajes pues decir que tanto Adam como Jennifer son como el café y el pan dulce, doritos y Coca Cola, cerveza y parrilla; combinaciones perfectas que hagan lo que hagan el producto será bueno. Se disfruta mucho verlos actuar, hay una innegable cualidad de cómicos en ellos que hacen te den risa de una manera muy natural, no hay nada forzado ni sobreactuado; muy sinceramente el trabajo acá es brutal y vale la pena verlo. Ojo, todo dentro de lo que al final es esta película realmente: una para ver un domingo por la tarde o un día en la noche para pasar el tiempo. Todos los demás actores también estuvieron bastante bien, Melanie y Enrique por ser los más conocidos sus personajes tienen cierta relevancia y sus actuaciones están decentes y dignos.
As for the characters, both Adam and Jennifer are like coffee and sweet bread, Doritos and Coca Cola, beer and grill; perfect combinations that whatever they do, the product will be good. There is an undeniable comic quality in them that makes you laugh in a very natural way, there is nothing forced or overacted; quite honestly the work here is brutal and worth watching. Of course, all within what this movie really is in the end: one to watch on a Sunday afternoon or a day at night to pass the time. All the other actors were also quite good, Melanie and Enrique for being the most well known their characters have some relevance and their performances are decent and worthy.
Una película divertida para pasar el rato con la cual te vas a reír y vas a disfrutar de unas buenas escenas de acción. Le doy un 7.5/10 porque se puede ver, no te cansa, es corta, la combinación de Adam y Jennifer es increíble y siempre funciona y que cuya meta la cual es entretener y que pasen un buen rato la cumple a cabalidad. La pueden encontrar en Netflix y tiene una duración de hora y media exactamente. Les dejo el tráiler.
A fun movie to pass the time with which you will laugh and enjoy some good action scenes. I give it a 7.5/10 because it's watchable, it doesn't tire you, it's short, the combination of Adam and Jennifer is amazing and always works and its goal which is to entertain and have a good time it fulfills it to the fullest. Casi coincidimos en evaluar la película, yo me reí demasiado y como tu opino que esta pareja es perfecta frente a las pantallas. Mi parte favorita fue el baile de la boda, casi muero de risas.

¡Wow! No sabia que habia salido ya la secuela de esta pelicula, me gusto mucho la primera por su comedia ocasional y la trama fue buena, disfrute mucho de la primera ahora tengo ganas de ver la segunda jejeje.
