Well, friends, as you can see, the anime we're going to talk about today, even though it only has one episode, is about a fighting rooster. Every now and then, some really interesting oddities are released in the anime world, and they're usually incredible. The last time I felt this way was when Dan Da Dan came out, that eccentric anime you just can't stop watching. Well, this story has arrived on Disney+, based on a manga of the same name, and it looks like it's going to attract a lot of attention, just like its first episode did.

Pues si amigos, así que como lo ven el anime del que vamos a hablar el día de hoy y a pesar de que solo lleva un solo episodio se trata de un gallo peleador. De vez en cuando se estrenan unas rarezas en este mundillo del anime bien interesantes que por lo general suelen ser increíbles. La última vez que me sentí de esta manera fue cuando salió Dan Da Dan, ese anime excéntrico y que no puedes dejar de ver. Pues a Disney+ llegó esta historia el cual proviene de un manga del mismo nombre y que tiene toda la pinta que llamará bastante la atención, así como lo hizo con su primer capítulo.

What's this about? - For lack of further context, the first episode already gave us plenty of clues. We have Keiji, a rooster with impressive martial arts skills and a very particular, sharp sense of humor. The thing is, he's a rooster who wanders free through life without any ties, with only one goal in mind: revenge. It turns out we're in a utopian or post-apocalyptic Japan, I think, where "Kiju" appear from time to time—monsters that are very common in Japanese culture as manifestations of bad feelings and emotions, and which begin attacking the entire city.

De qué va esto? - a falta de más el contexto ya el primer episodio nos dio bastantes pistas. Tenemos a Keiji, un gallo que tiene unas habilidades impresionantes de artes marciales junto a una personalidad y sentido del humor bien particulares y afilados. La cosa es que él es un gallo errante, uno que va libre por la vida sin ningún tipo de ataduras, solo con una meta u objetivo en mente: cobrar venganza. Resulta que estamos en un Japón utópico o postapocalíptico, creo yo, en donde de cuando en vez aparecen "Kiju", unos monstruos que son muy comunes en la cultura japones por ser manifestaciones de malos sentimientos, malas emociones y que comienzan a atacar a toda la ciudad.

I'm not going to tell you the reason for the revenge so you'll go watch the episode, but I will say it's a great motivation to annihilate all these "demons" that keep popping up. But don't be mistaken, even though you see these creatures, it doesn't mean the anime is dark or sinister. Not at all. It has a cool, dark humor and interactions and dialogue that are pure gold. There's a scene with him and a beautiful chicken that's truly worth the whole episode, all within the comedic-yet-racy framework. One of the things that caught my attention the most was precisely this: it's an anime that gives the impression of being quite mature, in the sense that I don't know if it's aimed at children. From what little I've seen, it shows a certain depth.

No les voy a decir cual es el motivo de la venganza para que vayan a ver el episodio pero si que es una gran motivación para ir aniquilando a todos estos "demonios" que emergen a cada rato. Pero no se confundan, a pesar de que vean a estas criaturas no quiere decir que el anime sea oscuro o siniestro, nada que ver, tiene un tono lleno de un humor negro bien cool junto a unas interacciones y diálogos que son oro puro. Hay una escena que la protagoniza él junto a una bella gallina que la verdad vale todo el capítulo, todo dentro del marco cómico-subido de tono. De las cosas que más me llamó la atención fue precisamente esto, que es un anime que da la sensación de que es bastante maduro en el sentido de que no se si será dirigido para niños, lo poco que se ha visto se nota cierta profundidad.

One extremely important detail is who's behind this anime: none other than Hiroshi Seko. We're talking about a man who has worked on, take note: Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, Kill la Kill, Vinland Saga, DanDaDan, Dorohedoro, and many more. Looking at this resume, we can deduce the quality this anime will have. And I'm telling you, just watching this first episode, I'm sure it will grab your attention. Seeing a rooster that fights extraordinarily well and has a hidden power that's both hilarious and lethal—which I'm not going to spoil—has to be reason enough to give this new story a chance.

Un dato sumamente importante es ver quién está detrás de este anime, nada más y nada menos que Hiroshi Seko. Estamos hablando de un hombre que ha trabajado en, tomen nota: Shingeki no Kyojin, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, Kill la Kill, Vinland Saga, DanDaDan, Dorohedoro y un largo etc. Viendo este currículum podemos deducir la calidad que tendrá este anime. Y es que les digo, solo disfrutando de este primer episodio estoy seguro que les va a llamar tremendamente la atención. Ver un gallo que pelea de manera extraordinaria y que tiene un poder oculto bien gracioso y letal, el cual tampoco se los voy a contar, tiene que ser un motivo suficiente para darle una oportunidad a esta nueva trama.

The animation is perfect, as expected. There's CGI, but it's well-executed, and we see some 3D scenes that, at least to me, didn't look bad at all. It's a style of animation that's not very common; I don't think it's the standard, which might be why I like it so much. They combine traditional hand-drawn animation with the CGI very well, and it looks really top-notch. This anime will have 12 episodes, which I hope will be excellent. I have high expectations for this story, since it's quite unusual, and we'll end up in the shoes of a rooster wandering through cities seeking revenge, so what we can expect is 100% uncertain. I can't imagine the adventures this character will have and how much we're likely to laugh. I've included the trailer below for you to check out.

La animación es perfecta, como no podía ser de otra manera. Hay uso del CGI pero bien empleado, vemos unas escenas en 3D que por lo menos a mi no me parecieron nada malas. Es una animación que se ve poco, creería que no es el canon general, puede que sea por eso que me guste tanto. Combinan muy bien los trazos de dibujos comunes con este CGI y la verdad se ve muy top. Este anime tendrá 12 capítulos los cuales espero sean muy buenos, tengo altas expectativas por lo que será esta historia, al ser algo nada común y que al final estaremos en la piel de un gallo vagando por ciudades buscando venganza pues lo que podemos esperar es incierto al 100%. No me imagino las aventura que tendrá este personaje y lo mucho que probablemente nos vamos a reír. Les dejo el tráiler por acá abajo para que le echen un ojo.
