"I will find you" is a series that would leave you in awe. It is about a man called David Burroughs who was accused of killing his own son.
I loved this series because of the shocking, mind bending twists. One that would have you wondering and leave you in awe.
Like I mentioned earlier, the series centers on David Burroughs. He was accused of murdering his own son, Matthew. He was arrested and charged to court. All the evidence suggested that he did it. His neighbour testified against his. His wife at some point, accepted that he did it. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to prison.
But here's the thing, David knew he was innocent. He knew so well that he didn't do it. Yet, he accepted his faith and went to prison. David felt like he let his son down by not being able to protect him. He was a man defeated. Besides, all the evidence pointed to the fact that he did it.
5 years into his sentence, David's ex wife's sister, Rachel, visits him with a photo that suggests his sun might actually be alive. This changed everything and was the beginning of chaos.
David broke out of prison to find his son (after surviving several attempts on his life right in prison). It was a dramatic prison break, and the authorities were looking for him while he tried to look for his son.
What I love about this movie is the plot twists. At several points in the movie, you'll find yourself suspecting different people regarding Matthew's murder. I found myself doubting everyone.
There seemed to be a web of lies and secrets as the series unfolded. Even David's family members seemed to have secrets which made me suspect them at some point. The show also tried to misdirect watchers by making us think someone else was the villain when the actual villain had been there in plain sight all along.
I love how the characters were developed in this series. For David Burroughs, we could see he was a man who suffered. He lost everything. He lost his child, his wife left him, he lost his job and reputation, and went to prison despite being innocent. In spite of all that, when he found out that there's a chance his son could be alive, David was willing to risk it all to find him. That's how much he valued family.
There was a lot of risk involved, there were attempts on his life, the security agencies were after him, yet David was determined.
The characters played their roles so well. Rachel Mills was superb. She did a good job of assisting David all the way. It's quite ironic how the whole problem for David Burroughs started with somebody's obsession with her.
A scene from this series that stood out for me was when David broke out of prison. He and the warden connived so he could break out of prison. David took the warden hostage with a gun pointed to the warden's head.
Then they were allowed to leave the prison premises and got into a car. While they were on their way, the police were positioned in front of them, weapons drawn, ready to fire. But somehow, just because of the warden, David was able to pass unscathed.
I highly recommend this series. The plot twist at the end would leave you in awe. You probably would be very invested until the end.
