I Will Find You is an American crime drama miniseries made for Netflix, adapted from the 2023 novel of the same name by Harlan Coben, who served as executive producer. The miniseries stars Sam Worthington, Britt Lower, Milo Ventimiglia, and Erin Richards. It premiered on June 18, 2026.
Netflix's new show I Will Find You told the story of David Burroughs(Sam Worthington), a man who was sent to prison for killing his own son, even though he didn't do it. For five long years, David sat behind bars, believing everyone hated him, believing his son was gone forever, and slowly giving up hope that anyone would ever believe he was innocent. It was the kind of pain that would break most people, and the show didn't shy away from showing just how heavy that weight was on him.
Then everything changed. David's ex-sister-in-law, Rachel Mills(Britt Lower), found proof that his son might actually still be alive. This discovery didn't just shake up David's world. It shook up Rachel's too. She used to be a respected journalist, but her career had fallen apart, and this story felt like her one shot at getting her old life back. So she made a bold decision, she helped David escape from prison so the two of them could search for the truth together, no matter the risk.
What makes this show stand out isn't just the drama of a man running from the law, it's the emotional core underneath it. This was a story about how far a parent will go for their child, and about a woman who put her whole life on the line to help someone she barely trusted anymore. The show also made a smart storytelling choice, instead of following David and Rachel's journeys separately, the way the original book did, it kept the two of them together from the very first episode.
That decision made the pacing tighter and kept the tension between them constant, so viewers never had a slow moment to look away.
Along the way, several other characters added more layers to the story. Hayden(Milo Ventimiglia), was Rachel's ex-boyfriend, a man from a wealthy Boston family who got pulled into the danger despite trying to stay out of it. On the other side of the case were two FBI agents, Sarah Greer (Logan Browning) and Max Williams (Chi McBride), a sharp, experienced duo assigned to track David down before he could uncover the truth.
Meanwhile, Cheryl Dreason, (Erin Richards), was David's ex-wife, a woman also grieving the loss of their son, but hiding secrets of her own that slowly came to the surface as the season went on.
This show was full of twists, in true Harlan Coben fashion. Just when you thought you finally understood what was going on, a new piece of information would completely flip the story upside down. It wasn't the kind of series you could predict, every episode ended with a new question, and every answer only opened up more mystery.
If you enjoy shows built around family secrets, hidden pasts, and people who will do anything for someone they love, I Will Find You delivered all of that and more. Sam Worthington gave one of the most emotional performances of his career, showing a softer, more vulnerable side that felt worlds away from his usual big-screen action roles and that alone made the show worth watching.
Like I mentioned earlier, the series centers on David Burroughs. He was accused of murdering his own son, Matthew. He was arrested and charged to court. All the evidence suggested that he did it. His neighbour testified against his. His wife at some point, accepted that he did it. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to prison.
But here's the thing, David knew he was innocent. He knew so well that he didn't do it. Yet, he accepted his faith and went to prison. David felt like he let his son down by not being able to protect him. He was a man defeated. Besides, all the evidence pointed to the fact that he did it.
5 years into his sentence, David's ex wife's sister, Rachel, visits him with a photo that suggests his sun might actually be alive. This changed everything and was the beginning of chaos.
David broke out of prison to find his son (after surviving several attempts on his life right in prison). It was a dramatic prison break, and the authorities were looking for him while he tried to look for his son.
What I love about this movie is the plot twists. At several points in the movie, you'll find yourself suspecting different people regarding Matthew's murder. I found myself doubting everyone.
There seemed to be a web of lies and secrets as the series unfolded. Even David's family members seemed to have secrets which made me suspect them at some point. The show also tried to misdirect watchers by making us think someone else was the villain when the actual villain had been there in plain sight all along.
I love how the characters were developed in this series. For David Burroughs, we could see he was a man who suffered. He lost everything. He lost his child, his wife left him, he lost his job and reputation, and went to prison despite being innocent. In spite of all that, when he found out that there's a chance his son could be alive, David was willing to risk it all to find him. That's how much he valued family.
There was a lot of risk involved, there were attempts on his life, the security agencies were after him, yet David was determined.
The characters played their roles so well. Rachel Mills was superb. She did a good job of assisting David all the way. It's quite ironic how the whole problem for David Burroughs started with somebody's obsession with her.
A scene from this series that stood out for me was when David broke out of prison. He and the warden connived so he could break out of prison. David took the warden hostage with a gun pointed to the warden's head.
Then they were allowed to leave the prison premises and got into a car. While they were on their way, the police were positioned in front of them, weapons drawn, ready to fire. But somehow, just because of the warden, David was able to pass unscathed.
I highly recommend this series. The plot twist at the end would leave you in awe. You probably would be very invested until the end.
This isn't the first time Harlan Coben has collaborated with Netflix to adapt his suspense, mystery, and intrigue novels. This time, he's done it with a series that, beyond what I've already mentioned, is a police thriller at its finest. It's one of those miniseries that I can tell you right now you'll want to binge-watch, episode after episode, whether because the plot is truly captivating or because the episodes are short, under 45 minutes. I think this kind of thing is what Netflix does best: productions that invite you to uncover and solve things—crimes, disappearances, murders. Historically, this is the type of content that has been most successful for them, and this miniseries is proof of that.

En esta oportunidad lo hace con una que más allá de lo dicho es un thriller policial en su máxima expresión, es de esas miniseries que ya te digo vas a querer ver capítulo tras capítulo sin parar bien sea porque la trama es realmente atrapante o porque los episodios son "cortos", no sobrepasan los 45 minutos. Creo que este tipo de cosas es lo que mejor sabe hacer Netflix, las producciones que te invitan a descubrir y resolver cosas, crímenes, desapariciones, asesinatos; históricamente es el contenido con el que mejor les ha ido y esta miniserie es la prueba de ello.

This is the story of David Burroughs (Sam Worthington), a man who once had an ideal family, but whose life is shattered one night by the apparent death of his only son, Matthew. Everything changes when, for the first time in his five years in prison, he decides to receive visitors. Rachel (Britt Lower), his former sister-in-law and a journalist, shows him a recent photograph that seemingly shows his son, recognizable by a birthmark. This sets off a chain of events in prison that culminates in David's escape, thus beginning his search for his son.

Todo cambia cuando por primera vez en esos cinco años de prisión decide recibir visitas, es Rachel (Britt Lower), su excuñada y periodista quien le muestra una foto actual en donde aparentemente se ve a su hijo, reconocido por una marca de nacimiento. Esto detona una series de eventos en esa cárcel que termina con la fuga de David para así empezar la busqueda de su hijo.
From here begins a desperate chase/search for clues, while David himself is being pursued by the FBI for obvious reasons. The thing is, as time goes on, we'll discover things, pieces that will gradually come together in the puzzle, so that in the end, just when we think everything is resolved, reality hits us and tells us no, there's more to uncover. That's the hook of this miniseries: the plot is full of tension at every turn as we try to figure things out, seeing the police/FBI one step behind; it's a constant sense of desperation. The fact that it's a police thriller is really cool because everything is based on that. The FBI agents are really good and contribute a lot, so they're almost on par with what David and Rachel are uncovering; hence the anguish of the chase.
A partir de acá comienza una desesperada persecución/busqueda de pistas al mismo tiempo que el propio David es perseguido por el FBI por razones obvias. La cosa es que con el pasar del tiempo iremos descubriendo cosas, piezas que van a ir armando el rompecabezas para que al final cuando pensemos que todo está resuelto la realidad golpee y nos diga que no, que hay más cosas por descubrir. El gancho de esta miniserie es eso, es la trama llena de tensión en todo momento por ir averiguando cosas, es ver a la policía/FBI a medio paso detrás; es una desesperación constante. Que sea un thriller policial es muy cool porque todo se basa en eso, los agentes del FBI son realmente buenos y aportan mucho por lo que van casi a la par de lo que David y Rachel van sacando a la luz; de ahí la angustia de la persecución.
One thing I want to highlight is the plot twists. The story itself lends itself to these kinds of things happening; it's what I was saying before: just when we think we're close to an answer, it turns out there are still several doors to be opened. This happens a couple of times, and honestly, yes, at least for me, they ended up surprising me because I really didn't see them coming. The thing is, all of this involves the family: David's wife's past, Rachel's past, David's own past with his brother in school, David's father's past as a police officer; absolutely everything comes together and everything is connected. As you can see, it's never clear who's really behind it all; that's revealed almost in the last episode, hence the incredible intrigue that's always there.
Algo que destaco son los plot twist que hay. La historia en si misma se presta para que sucedan estas cosas, es lo que decía antes, cuando creemos que se está cerca de una respuesta resulta que quedan varias puertas por ser abiertas todavía. Esto pasa en par de ocasiones y la verdad si, por lo menos a mi me terminaron sorprendiendo porque realmente no los vi venir. El tema es que todo esto involucra a la familia, al pasado de la esposa de David, al pasado de Rachel, al pasado del propio David con el hermano en el colegio, el pasado del papá de David siendo policía; absolutamente todo se une y todo tiene que ver. Como ven nunca está claro quien está detrás de todo realmente, eso se sabe casi que el último episodio, de ahí la increíble intriga que siempre hay.
The acting isn't really important to me because the story is what matters most. Even so, considering the cast, the quality was quite good. There are several familiar names and faces: Erin Richards, Aaron Ashmore, Chi McBride, and others. It has a bit of everything; there isn't a ton of action, although it does have a couple of good scenes, chases, and plenty of suspense. It's a decent miniseries that's quick to watch, always keeps a good pace, and is extremely entertaining. If you're looking for something to watch, I recommend it. It's not a masterpiece, but it's perfectly adequate. There are eight episodes. I've included the trailer below.
Las actuaciones para mi no son relevantes porque el peso de todo es la historia, aún así hay que decir que viendo los actores que aparecen el nivel fue bastante bueno, hay varios nombres y caras conocidas, Erin Richards, Aaron Ashmore, Chi McBride, etc. Acá hay de todo un poco, no hay tanta acción aunque si tiene un par de buenas escenas; persecuciones y mucho suspenso. Es una miniserie decente que se ve rápido, que siempre tiene ritmo y que es sumamente entretenida. Si estás buscando algo para ver te recomiendo esto, no será una joya pero cumple. Son 8 capítulos. Quiero compartir con ustedes mis impresiones sobre esta nueva serie de la gran N roja que sin duda, podríamos catalogar como una de las nuevas adiciones más recientes al catálogo de Netflix. Te encontraré, es una miniserie protagonizada por Sam Worthington. Sí, el mismo actor de Avatar y fue por esa razón que no tuvimos ninguna excusa para no ver esta serie mi esposa y yo. Como ya saben, soy un amante a los thrillers psicológicos llenos de suspenso, giros inesperados y persecuciones intensas y si eres como yo, esta es una opción que de seguro les llamará la atención.

I’ll Find You is a miniseries starring Sam Worthington. Yes, the same actor from Avatar, and that’s exactly why my wife and I had no excuse not to watch this series. As you know, I’m a huge fan of psychological thrillers full of suspense, unexpected twists, and intense chases, and if you’re like me, this is a show that’s sure to catch your attention.
La serie sigue una trágica historia de un padre que cumple condena a cadena perpetua tras ser culpado injustamente por el asesinato de su hijo de tres años pero todo logra cambiar cinco años después gracias a una visita totalmente inesperada quien le ofrecería una prueba impactante de que su condena y culpabilidad haya sido una conspiración. Lo que David Burroughs (Sam Worthington) sumido en el dolor y la culpa y sin planear nada, acepta una ayuda bastante arriesgada para limpiar su nombre, descubrir la conspiración detrás de su tragedia y recuperar a su familia. La verdad es que nos sorprendió no solo la historia que nos presentan si no, las actuaciones de los actores en acción.

Bueno, digamos que algunas no son tan sobresalientes pero de igual manera, han cumplido con su trabajo en lograr transmitir la angustia, el desespero y las ganas de reencontrase como familia. A diferencia de La actuación de Sam Worthington que como todo gran actor logra transmite muy bien la desesperación, el peso del duelo y la determinación implacable de un padre que no tiene nada que perder. En el elenco secundario tenemos actuaciones como la de Britt Lower y Milo Ventimiglia actores que le da mucha más solidez al conflicto familiar y policial de la trama. La serie cuenta con 8 capítulos en su mayoría de un tiempo aproximado de 40 minutos y cada cierre cumple de sobra con su cometido, mantenernos al borde del asiento durante sus 8 episodios.
Well, let’s just say that some of them aren’t all that outstanding, but they’ve still done their job in conveying the anguish, the desperation, and the desire to reunite as a family. In contrast, Sam Worthington’s performance like that of any great actor successfully conveys the desperation, the weight of grief, and the relentless determination of a father who has nothing to lose. In the supporting cast, we have performances by actors like Britt Lower and Milo Ventimiglia, who lend much more depth to the family and police-related conflicts in the plot. The series consists of eight episodes, most of which run approximately 40 minutes, and each one more than fulfills its purpose: keeping us on the edge of our seats throughout all eight episodes.
Cada episodio nos dejaba con más y más dudas y cuando teníamos alguna idea de quién estaba detrás de la conspiración que mantuvo a David Burroughs por 5 años tras las rejas, la historia daba un giro inesperado y fue eso lo que más nos llamó la atención, pues sinceramente siempre quedábamos comiéndonos las uñas entre dudas, preguntas, conspiraciones. Son muy pocas las recientes producciones que vayan por el suspenso dramático y misterio que me hayan enganchado tanto con ellas y no cabe duda, Te Encontré se ha ganado un gran espacio entre mis favoritas del 2026.
Each episode left us with more and more questions, and just when we thought we had an idea of who was behind the conspiracy that kept David Burroughs behind bars for five years, the story took an unexpected turn and that’s what really grabbed our attention, because honestly, we were always on the edge of our seats, torn between doubts, questions, and conspiracies. There are very few recent productions in the dramatic suspense and mystery genres that have hooked me this much, and there’s no doubt about it: Te Encontré has earned a prominent spot among my favorites of 2026.
