A finales de los 80' y principio de los 90', la visión de Tim Burton de Batman y su galería de villanos cambio por completo mi perspectiva hacia todo esos personajes; en mi opinión (ahora de adulto) pienso que es una visión que se asemeja a un Freak Show, personajes que no temen mostrar su nivel de locura en una lucha por controlar (villanos) y defender (héroe) a Ciudad Gótica; tiempo después, lo referente a la realidad impuesta por Nolan posiblemente disminuyó lo referente a los problemas psiquiátricos de los personajes, aunque en "El Caballero de la Noche" sea en dónde se explore más y por eso creo que es la mejor de todas; posiblemente en esta nueva oportunidad, Matt Reeves y compañía, tenga la oportunidad de unificar ambas maneras de relatar una historia ya contada muchas veces, pero en donde se explore la diferente manera de vivir en locura y por eso El Pingüino ofreció el relato sobre un personaje que no es un héroe o un antihéroe, sino un gran y vil villano.

El pasado domingo se estrenó "A Great or Little Thing", octavo y último episodio (por ahora) de la miniserie "The Penguin"; un episodio que demostró lo grandioso del relato en esta producción en donde a pesar de tener noción de que muchas cosas deberían suceder, de igual manera creó un gran impacto en los millones de personas que vieron el episodio. La narrativa sobre la vida de "Oz Cobb" en un principio captó la atención de muchos que pensaron que está era la historia sobre un hombre que sin importar su discapacidad superó obstáculos hasta alcanzar lo más alto de una organización mafiosa; justamente muchos fans de la miniserie (posiblemente) se vieron identificados con "Oz" que a pesar de crecer sin ningún beneficio, enfrentó a todos los poderosos jefes y sus familiares que siempre lo subestimaron y lo trataron como lo peor; todo ese relato hizo pensar que está era una historia de superación, de una lucha de clases, la típica en donde el menos beneficiado supera duras pruebas y alcanza una gran meta y en parte es verdad, pero lo impresionante es el cómo logra superar todas sus metas.
Justamente ese pensamiento de que esperaban una historia del antihéroe llevó a creer en el personaje de "Victor"; de manera unánime, todos apoyamos a "Vic", todos conectamos con él, esperamos que pudiera encontrar un motivo, un lugar donde encajar y comenzar de nuevo, pero la realidad es que vimos la historia de un joven hombre perdido, derrotado, sin nada que ofrecer y que al final, poco a poco fue un vendiendo su alma al diablo; algo parecido sucedió con "Sofía Falcone" quien muchos la vieron como la villana de la historia, pero la realidad es que fue la gran víctima, alguien que tuvo que vivir en el infierno para transformarse en algo oscuro para así cortar con todo lazo familiar y comenzar de nuevo; si en esta historia existe una imagen cercana al antihéroe, en mi opinión esa fue "Sofia Gigante".

The narrative about the life of "Oz Cobb" initially caught the attention of many who thought that this was the story about a man who regardless of his disability overcame obstacles to reach the top of a mafia organization; justly many fans of the miniseries (possibly) identified with "Oz" who despite growing up without any benefits, faced all the powerful bosses and their families who always underestimated him and treated him as the worst; all that story made people think that this was a story of overcoming, of a class struggle, the typical one where the least benefited overcomes hard trials and reaches a great goal and it is partly true, but the impressive thing is how he manages to overcome all his goals.
Precisely that thought that they expected a story of the anti-hero led to believe in the character of "Victor"; unanimously, we all supported "Vic", we all connected with him, we hoped he could find a reason, a place to fit in and start over, but the reality is that we saw the story of a young man lost, defeated, with nothing to offer and that in the end, little by little he was a selling his soul to the devil; Something similar happened with "Sofia Falcone" who many saw her as the villain of the story, but the reality is that she was the great victim, someone who had to live in hell to transform herself into something dark in order to cut all family ties and start over; if in this story there is an image close to the anti-hero, in my opinion that was "Sofia Gigante".

I don't know what will happen in the future, but I hope Oz's story doesn't end in the sequel to The Batman and I hope to see him suffer and pay for everything he did and will surely do.
