Esta historia narra la vida de Henry Page, de 17 años, es editor del periódico de su instituto y nunca se ha enamorado. La historia de amor con la que sueña aún no ha sucedido hasta que llega una chica nueva, Grace Town.
Todo comienza con un trabajo para hacer el periódico escolar, Henry teniendo experiencia en escribir es llamado por su profesor el cual le dice que lo necesitan para que escriba en el periódico escolar y es allí donde conoce a Grace, una chica bastante callada y que camina por alguna razón con un bastón.
Al principio Grace se muestra bastante distante y negada a escribir en el periódico y le dice a Henry que ella se encargará de todo lo demás que conlleva crear un periódico.
Henry se siente bastante abrumado por esta chica y decide seguirla después de clases. Allí es cuando le pide que si lo puede llevar a su casa, a lo que Grace le entrega las llaves de su auto y el maneja hasta su casa ya que ella no puede manejar por alguna extraña razón deja su carro en la casa de Henry parqueado y se va caminando cosa que le parece extraña a Henry y a su familia.
Poco a poco se van hablando cada vez más y un día Henry la sigue por un bosque a ver qué es lo que tanto ella esconde. Se encuentra un altar con una foto de un chico desconocido y descubre una lápida, allí es donde Henry se empieza hacer muchas preguntas con respecto a Grace, ¿Por qué se comporta de esa manera? ¿Quien es el chico del altar? ¿Era un familiar de ella o un amigo?
Grace esconde un dolor muy profundo por la perdida de este chico y hasta se queda en la cual era la casa de este chico y duerme en el cuarto de el como forma de sentirlo de nuevo cerca.
Pero esto no evita que la coraza que creo Grace la vaya rompiendo poco a poco Henry y se vayan enamorando a pesar de las circunstancias.
Un día Grace desaparece y Henry intenta encontrarla y recuerda un lugar que ella le mostró a dónde va cuando se siente mal. Es como una especie de cueva con un pequeño lago dentro de el, y allí la encuentra en muy mal estado emocional y vestida con un vestido y el cabello suelto y no recogido como ella lo suele usar.
Allí Grace le cuenta a Henry toda la verdad y se desmorona, pero al fin puede contarle a alguien que fue lo que sucedió en su pasado que tanto la marcó.
Esta película me dejó un gran mensaje sobre lo que puede llevar una persona en su corazón y que no es capaz de expresarlo y lo que la impide a vivir una vida plena y a seguir adelante a pesar de lo que haya pasado aún si es algo muy importante para ella. Grace hides a very deep pain for the loss of this boy and she even stays in what was this boy's house and sleeps in his room as a way to feel him close again.
But this does not prevent Grace's armor from being broken little by little by Henry and they fall in love despite the circumstances.
One day Grace disappears and Henry tries to find her and remembers a place she showed him where she goes when she feels bad. It is like a kind of cave with a small lake inside it, and there he finds her in a very bad emotional state and dressed in a dress with her hair loose and not tied up as she usually wears it.
There Grace tells Henry the whole truth and falls apart, but finally she can tell someone what happened in her past that marked her so much.
This movie left me with a great message about what a person can carry in their heart and not be able to express it and what prevents them from living a full life and moving forward despite what has happened even if it is something very important to them.
