Hello dear Hive community I hope you are well. Today I come to you with an old movie called Mi Vida Ahora in Spanish.

PicsArt_11-28-03.17.36.png

Set in the UK in the near future, Saoirse Ronan plays Daisy, an American teenager who is sent to live with her cousins in Britain. There she begins a relationship with Edmond (George MacKay). But on the fringes of an idyllic summer, news of an escalating conflict in Europe begins to arrive. When the United Kingdom falls into a violent and chaotic military state, Daisy and her cousins are separated. Daisy will have to fight to survive a senseless war and face all odds to be reunited with Edmond. Source

My opinion:

This movie caught my attention because of the actress and her style plus the theme of the movie which is not exactly romantic but it does have some romance between cousins, which I found quite strange at first but when I realized how the protagonist could ''read'' the mind of the protagonist so well I thought it was kind of cute even though it was a forbidden relationship.

The protagonist had quite a few anxiety issues and always had negative thoughts about herself and others.

It shows what a war is like and how everyone has to fight for their lives to survive. The main character is left alone with her younger cousin as they were all separated and taken to shelters in strangers' homes and can only eat canned food and cannot drink water from the sink because it is believed to be contaminated.

Both manage to flee from the house where they were sheltered and take some supplies because the road is long and very dangerous to find the others alive or at least they hope so.

On the way they meet two men who try to kill them but they manage to flee, in search of Edmond and the others they reach a desolate area with a strong smell of rot, there Daisy leaves her cousin to enter and see if she can find them, realizing that this place had been a space for refugees and where Edmond was probably but there are no more than corpses in black bags piled up, she desperately begins to break one bag after another in search of her cousins. She finds one of them dead.

At that moment she feels very hopeless not knowing if Edmond is still out there alive or not. So she goes back to her cousin and doesn't mention to him that she found her dead brother.

They continue on their way with the hope that at least Edmond is alive but the strength is running out on Daisy and her cousin, they have no more food and the future looks very dark for them.

Thanks for reading and supporting me❤️
