¡Hola, Comunidad de Hive! Hoy vengo a hablarles sobre un serie de animación que pude ver hace poco y que me dejó una muy buena impresión. Estoy hablando de SUPERMAN, primera adaptación del famoso personaje homónimo de DC Comics producida por los hermanos Max y Dave Fleischer, pioneros y nombres clave dentro de la historia de la animación, y que se desarrolló desde 1941 hasta 1943.
La serie presenta historias acordes a las aventuras del hijo de Krypton, obviamente arraigadas a las historietas de la época y a los villanos y problemáticas a los que les hacía frente a inicios de los años 40 como los científicos locos, terroristas, gangster e incluso algunos enemigos ligados al conflicto de Estados Unidos en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Estos guiones dan lugar a capítulos de menos de 10 minutos en su mayoría y que resultan muy fáciles y agradables de seguir para cualquier espectador, especialmente a los que estén más familiarizados con la versión clásica de Superman.
Y gracias a estar influenciada por las primeras tiras cómicas del personaje, la serie presenta a un Superman muy alejado de la versión todo poderosa y casi invencible que se viene manejando de un tiempo hacia acá, teniendo aquí menos poderes y siendo más vulnerable, lo que le da mayor conflicto y asegura que no te aburras.
Sin duda lo que hace destacar más a esta serie es su animación, ejecutada a a través de la técnica de rotoscopia (sello distintivo de los Hermanos Fleischer) y que le brinda una naturalidad y fluidez admirable a los movimientos de los personajes. Igualmente, los diseños de los mismos logran cierta familiaridad gracias a su enfoque de cierta forma realista, así como los escenarios deslumbran gracias a su atención al detalle y a su estética en ocasiones lúgubre y madura.
Y algo que a mí, personalmente, me encanta de esta y de otras series de antaño es la banda sonora, que además de impactar y realzar la emoción del momento, muestra cierta complejidad especialmente con el uso de la música para acompañar o reemplazar ciertos efectos, sintiéndose en realidad como una orquesta.
Considero a esta primera caricatura de Superman una buena elección para pasar un buen rato e incluso para estudiar lo que se puede lograr con una animación muy detallada. Undoubtedly, what makes this series stand out the most is its animation, executed through the rotoscoping technique (Fleischer Brothers' hallmark), which provides a naturalness and fluidity to the characters' movements. Likewise, the designs of the characters achieve a certain familiarity thanks to their somewhat realistic approach, while the sets dazzle thanks to their attention to detail and their sometimes gloomy and mature aesthetics.
And something that I personally love about this and other series of yesteryear is the soundtrack, which in addition to impacting and enhancing the emotion of the moment, shows some complexity especially with the use of music to accompany or replace certain effects, actually feeling like an orchestra.
I consider this first Superman cartoon a good choice to have a good time and even to study what can be achieved with a very detailed animation.
