Trono de Sangre es una película japonesa de 1957 dirigida por Akira Kurosawa y protagonizada por Toshiro Mifune, uno de sus actores habituales. La película es una reinvención de la tragedia Macbeth de William Shakespeare pero llevada al Japón Feudal, contando la historia de un guerreo samurái que tiene un encuentro con un oráculo que le vaticina gloria, riqueza y poder, por lo que su esposa lo manipula e impulsa para hacer que se cumpla la profecía lo más pronto posible, aunque para ello tenga que llenarse las manos de sangre.
Funciona muy bien como una relectura muy llamativa de una historia de sobra conocida en un contexto diferente, apoyada por la universalidad de los temas que aborda como lo son la ambición y los anhelos que el protagonista no quiere aceptar. Por el lado de la puesta en escena y la dirección actoral, Kurosawa logra crear momentos de mucha tensión, llegando incluso a rozar el terror. Dicho sentimiento se ve reforzado gracias al manejo de las locaciones, el vestuario y todo lo relacionado a su ambientación.
Además de resultar un ejercicio muy interesante de la adaptación de un texto teatral al cine, llega a ser un ejemplo fascinante del cine de samuráis para los aficionados a este tipo de producciones, así como es una película que muestra el lado más oscuro del ser humano. This feeling is reinforced thanks to the handling of the locations, the costumes and everything related to its setting.
In addition to being a very interesting exercise in the adaptation of a theatrical text to film, it becomes a fascinating example of samurai cinema for fans of this type of productions, as well as a film that shows the darkest side of the human being.
