This blog is a personal journal of all the movies, Tv-Shows, & Games I consume during a year which enhances my overall experience. The ratings that I give are fully based on my personal preference and enjoyment at the time of watching and I'm writing spoiler-free reviews. From is one of those rare tv shows that I kind of got obsessed about in that the first thing I tend to do in the morning when a new episode is released is to watch if. I'm somewhat of a sucker for mystery tv shows where nothing really makes sense and you want to see it all explained one way or another similar to how lost did it. From is from the same producers as lost and you can tell. The main difference is that they actually know where things are going and where it will end. If anything I enjoy the structure of having an episode each week, checking some theories on Youtube and looking forward to the next one.

*** Spoiler Warning: Since this is about Season 4, it will spoil a lot of what happened before in the story. For those who haven't seen it yet, I can highly recommend watching just 2-3 episodes of this show which will be enough to know if it's something for you or not.

From Previous Seasons

There was something about this show that really hooked me at the start and had me obsessed. The combination of Lost (people trapped in a place with weird rules who can't get out and look for a way to escape) & The Walking Dead (monsters coming out at night where everyone has to hide from) just worked. Basically, they always added more questions and no real answers which worked even more addictive. The first season ended with the cliffhanger of Boyd getting trapped somewhere, the 2nd season with Thabita somehow landing in the real world, and the 3rd one with the introduction of the man in yellow.

As the seasons went on, some answers were given but it's not that they were that mindbending or anything and it kind of started to drag on a bit too much with a couple of main plot developments during each season but otherwise a lot of filler content that feels unneeded. So each season kind of went a bit downhill as the initial curiosity about the town and the discoveries slowly faded away. Despite this, I still looked forward each week for the new episode to drop but that also faded a bit.

From Season 4 (7.0/10)

So the main plotline of Season 4 was the introduction of the Man in Yellow who somehow transformed into Sophia, this along with the dolls who came to life and the eventual transition of Fatima into one of the monsters which kind of was the cliffhanger. The end scene pretty much was copy-paste of lost where they had the man in white and the man in Black talking to eachother.

In some of the early episodes of the season I was watching and getting a bit bored or annoyed thinking "this is no longer the show I used to be obsessed about". That said, it still something I look forward to and kind of enjoy so there is that.

I guess that the problem is that it isn't really scary anymore as the 'Nightmare creatures' as they are called are no longer that dominant and that treat is kind of gone whime the mystery is slowly being explained which by default is almost always less enjoyable or satisffying in a way compared to new mystery that is being introduced. It's just easier to make up stuff than to actually explain it.

Conclusion:So Season 4 was a combination to looking forward to each new episode while at the same time being annoyed a bit. The trailers and previews also spoiled so many major aspects of this season like the dolls coming to life which makes watching them for the first time actually more exciting compared to the actual episodes. Despite everything, From is still one of those itches of mine that need to be scratched so I'm super forgiving in my score of a 7.0/10 as I stilll enjoyed it and look forward to the 5th and last season. I can't help though to be a bit dissapointed in this show because it gave such high hopes and mystery to live up to which was impossible in the first place.

It's a series that's a little complicated but entertaining at the same time. Compared to Lost, I think it's on the right track. I hope the ending doesn't disappoint, even though most of the time these series end up doing just thatโ€”we'll see how it continues.

It seemed like season 4 was just meant to prolong the show, cos as far as i am concerned it was really not all that necessary, but it is a top top mystery show. I cant wait for the last season to find out what is really going on
