Honestly I do not usually watch cartoons, beyond those I watched in my childhood, however on one occasion, I remember it was a Sunday of boredom, I joined my daughter @mairene1 who was watching a movie of this type, she had just started, so she put me aware of what was necessary and I could continue watching it, but the truth is that I was pleasantly surprised at the mature and deep theme that they were dealing with, I was still left with the impression that it is not a movie for children, not because there are unpleasant images, on the contrary, the aesthetics are impeccable and there are no things that could hurt susceptibilities, I am referring rather to a theme of maturity, children could not understand what the film is really about.
Honestamente yo no suelo ver dibujos animados, más allá de los que yo veía en mi infancia, sin embargo en una ocasión, recuerdo que era un domingo de aburrimiento, me uní a mi hija @mairene1 quien estaba viendo una película de este tipo, apenas y había iniciado, así que ella me puso al tanto de lo necesario y yo pude continuar viéndola, pero la verdad es que quedé gratamente sorprendido ante el tema tan maduro y profundo que estaban tratando, desde luego con un tinte más humorístico y suavizado, aún así me quedé con la impresión de que no es una película para niños, no porque haya imágenes desagradables, al contrario, la estética es impecable y no hay cosas que puedan herir susceptibilidades, me refiero más bien a un tema de madurez, los niños no podrían comprender de que se trata en realidad la película.
The movie is basically about a soldier who used to be admired and respected by everyone, but after the loss of his best friend he underwent a strange metamorphosis, partially turning into a pig, however he not only changed his exterior, now he has decided to take to the skies on his own and work for himself as a kind of bounty hunter, therefore, aboard his red airplane he became the terror of the air pirates.
La película básicamente trata sobre un soldado que antes era admirado y respetado por todos, pero tras la pérdida de su mejor amigo sufrió una extraña metamorfosis, convirtiéndose parcialmente en un cerdo, sin embargo no solo cambió su exterior, ahora ha decidido surcar los cielos por su cuenta y trabajar para sí mismo como una especie de cazarrecompensas, por lo tanto, a bordo de su aeroplano rojo se volvió el terror de los piratas aéreos.
From the beginning you realize that the main character is unusual, but not only for his appearance but for his personality, I detected of course, a touch of magical realism, since the fact itself of the extraordinary metamorphosis is perceived by others as something almost normal. However, an almost obligatory question arises: Why precisely a pig? Well, since I particularly like to read a lot, I did not find this reference strange, since at the time when the film was developed, more or less the 30's in Italy, there was Mussolini, who was a leader of fascism that encouraged the cult of self and fiercely repressed anyone who went against his rules, this was also a time of advances in aeronautics and pilots were seen as heroes, but unfortunately Italy ended up sinking in the mud by signing an agreement with Hitler, so Porco Rosso, our protagonist is seen as a rebel and anyone who opposed the totalitarian regime of Mussolini was considered a communist and what were communists for the fascists? Simply pigs, filthy beings who sought to destabilize the system that fascism had established in Italy, well, and in much of Europe.
Desde el inicio te das cuenta que el personaje principal es inusual, pero no solo por su apariencia sino por su personalidad, detecté claro está, un toque de realismo mágico, ya que el hecho en sí de la extraordinaria metamorfosis es percibida por los demás como algo casi normal. Sin embargo surge una pregunta casi obligatoria ¿Por qué precisamente un cerdo? Bueno, ya que a mi particularmente me gusta leer mucho no me resultó extraña esa referencia, ya que para la época en la que se desarrolló la película, más o menos los años 30 en Italia, estaba Mussolini, quien era un líder del fascismo que fomentaba el culto hacia sí mismo y reprimía ferozmente a quien fuese en contra de sus reglas, esta fue también una época de avances en materia de aeronáutica y los pilotos eran vistos como héroes, pero lamentablemente Italia terminó de hundirse en el fango al firmar un acuerdo con Hitler, así que Porco Rosso, nuestro protagonista es visto como un rebelde y alguien que se oponía al régimen totalitario de Mussolini, era considerado comunista y ¿Qué eran lo comunistas para los fascistas? simplemente cerdos, seres inmundos que pretendían desestabilizar el sistema que el fascismo había establecido en Italia, bueno, y en gran parte de Europa.
Something that caught my attention in the film is that, although Porco Rosso is a bounty hunter, at the time of buying ammunition he chooses non-lethal bullets, which means that he keeps certain moral codes and feels rejection for violence, still maintains certain prejudices of the time as machismo, but it is understandable, precisely because of the time in which the story is handled, however this allowed the female character (I do not remember her name) to take these prejudices as a personal challenge and could thus demonstrate their skills. And in this 'time women had to excel in areas where men usually dominated, since the previous war had left a vacuum that women had to fill when most men were in combat.
Algo que me llamó la atención de la película es que, a pesar que Porco Rosso es un caza recompensas, en el momento de comprar municiones elige balas no letales, lo que significa que él guarda ciertos códigos morales y siente rechazo por la violencia, aún así mantiene ciertos prejuicios propios de la época como el machismo, pero es entendible, precisamente por la época en la que se maneja la historia, sin embargo esto permitió que el personaje femenino (no recuerdo su nombre) tomara estos prejuicios como un reto personal y pudiera así demostrar sus habilidades. Y es que en esta ´época las mujeres tuvieron que destacar en rubros donde los hombres normalmente dominaban, ya que la guerra anterior había dejado un vacío que las mujeres tuvieron que llenar cuando la mayoría de los hombres estaban en combate.
And well, I've really found a gem, but from what I've been told this is a woefully underrated film, but I highly recommend it.
Y bueno, realmente que he encontrado una joya, pero según me han dicho esta es una película lamentablemente infravalorada, pero yo la recomiendo altamente.
