Well, in my previous review, I spoke about how much I appreciate the original Adventure Time series—a show so immensely popular that words hardly do it justice. Thanks to its success, we now have an expansive universe that has captivated fans and brought back the wonderful adventures that thrilled us years ago. This new installment has just premiered on HBO Max, taking us back to the old days with the iconic dynamic of these characters and their personalities, which always taught us something more.
Bueno, en mi anterior reseña hablé sobre lo mucho que aprecio a la serie original de Adventure Time, una serie que es sumamente popular y que las palabras no alcanzan para definirla. Debido a su éxito, ahora tenemos un universo extenso que ha cautivado a los fans y que nos revive esas aventuras maravillosas que nos emocionaron hace años. Esta acaba de estrenarse en HBO Max y nos hace recordar los viejos tiempos, con la dinámica icónica de estos personajes y sus personalidades que siempre nos enseñaban algo más.
Adventure Time: Side Quest is a new series backed by Disney+ and Hulu. I found the company's interest in this story intriguing, but once I saw what they were proposing, I was even more enthusiastic about the idea of a return—specifically, a project that promised to bring back those entertaining adventures in the form of stories we "didn't see" back in the day. It respects the original series' timeline while featuring new animation that allows viewers to enjoy and experience the show through a fresh style, much like the one that defined the original series.

Lo que me pareció curioso fue el interés que esta compañía mostró en esta historia, pero al ver lo que proponían, me gustó aún más la idea de que estos regresaran y que realmente proponían un producto que prometía traer las entretenidas aventuras de vuelta en algo que básicamente son las aventuras que “no vimos” en aquellos entonces. Respetando la línea temporal de la serie original y teniendo una nueva animación que permite gozar y sentir el producto con un nuevo estilo como el que produjo la primera serie.
I wouldn't pretend to be overly excited by the return of the supporting characters—the ones who make this universe so diverse, subtle, ironic, and slightly eccentric, defining each of the fascinating inhabitants of Ooo. I mentioned in my previous post that the Ice King is my favorite character; he has returned to continue his endless quest to find a princess who loves him. Knowing what this entails allows us to view him differently, even while retaining the extreme situations that define him.
No fingiría que me emocionó demasiado el regreso de los personajes secundarios, estos que hacen que este universo sea tan diverso y sutil, irónico y un poco extravagante, que caracteriza a cada uno de todos los emocionantes habitantes de Ooo. En mi anterior post ya había mencionado que mi personaje favorito es el Rey Helado; este ha regresado para continuar con su interminable misión de buscar una princesa que lo ame, y sabiendo lo que esto significa, podemos tener una visión distinta de él, pero manteniendo esas situaciones extremas que lo caracterizan.
Finn and Jake have arguably one of the best brotherly relationships in all of animation; this series revives something we thought had ended, and it is undoubtedly a great source of entertainment. You might recall that these episodes—despite being short—feel substantial because they are so engaging; in under 15 minutes, they immerse us once again in those daily adventures, giving us a better sense of the routines that went beyond what we were used to. I must also mention the return of the original Latin American voice actor for Jake, whose fantastic performance brings back the fun—a definite plus for Latin American audiences.
Finn y Jake tienen básicamente una de las mejores relaciones de hermanos en toda la animación; esta serie revive eso que se daba por terminado y sin duda es una gran oportunidad para entretenerse. No sé si recuerdas que estos episodios, a pesar de que son cortos, se sienten largos por lo atrapantes que son; con menos de 15 minutos nos vuelven a sumergir en aquellas aventuras diarias y para que te des una mejor idea de cómo eran esas rutinas que se salían de lo que ya conocíamos. También debo mencionar que el regreso de la primera voz de Jake en latinoamericano ha vuelto a divertirnos con su gran interpretación, lo que le da un punto extra con el público latino.
From what I could gather online, it appears the show was originally distributed via Disney+ in the United States, while in other regions it premiered and was distributed by HBO Max—and I believe this was one of the best deals they’ve struck recently. There is talk that Disney has been distributing its content on other platforms, so I imagine we’ll soon see more collaborations involving the "House of Mouse." Por lo que pude ver en internet, esta aparentemente comenzó su distribución original a través de Disney+ para Estados Unidos, mientras que en el resto, esta fue estrenada y distribuida por HBO Max, y creo que este convenio fue uno de los mejores que han hecho últimamente.
