CRIME 101 - DETAILED REVIEW
I entered this one expecting an action movie and a heist/suspenseful one at that, and I left with one of the more enjoyable heist thrillers that I have seen in quite a while. Based on the novella by Don Winslow, Director Bart Layton's adaptation manages to capture something classic, even if it's a refreshingly honest heist film that relies as much on its characters as its set pieces.

The premise is simple yet deceptive... a jewel thief that has successfully made a series of heist with an unbroken string of unsolvable crimes for the past three years along the 101 freeway in Los Angeles is determined to make one more before he walks away permanently. A disillusioned insurance broker, whose own life is also at a turning point, also falls into his life, and the two are thrown into an uneasy, dangerous partnership. In the meantime, a persistent detective who believes he's discovered the modus operandi of the thief comes increasingly close and closer to both of them, and the film slowly tightens this net, frame-by-frame, until the hunter and the hunted are virtually indistinguishable from one another.

The only thing that makes this more than just a typical “one last job” heist is the amount of character attention that Layton gives to the characters that orbit around the crime instead of just how the crime is done. The thief, played by Chris Hemsworth, is doing some of the best work of his career here, not given the movie star charm he's so known for, but instead playing this character coiled and watchful, with every scene that seems one step from falling apart. It's a real understated production and it's a good reminder of what he can do when he's not in a blockbuster franchise.

The other half of the film's emotional heart is Halle Berry, whose weary, quiet desperation with regard to the insurance broker is the same character that's not the "woman pulled into a criminal's orbit" type. Her character is not merely a foil for the thief, but is also in the midst of a fragile and chaotic situation of her own, and the fact that she is now on the same side makes their partnership feel earned rather than convenient. Then there's Mark Ruffalo, playing the detective, with a less flashy but every bit as compelling performance who seems to be filling some void in his own unraveling personal life with his obsession in cracking this case. Ruffalo gives the part a tiredness that turns the cat and mouse game into something more than a genre device and more akin to watching two people who perhaps in a different life, understood each other just fine.

The rest of the cast contributes well, too: Barry Keoghan's slightly off-center, often unhinged presence is a perfect fit for the part, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Nick Nolte provide texture and gravity in supporting roles, and Monica Barbaro and Corey Hawkins both make strong impressions on the periphery of the story.

On the level of aesthetics, what you're looking at is a beautiful movie. Cinematographer Erik Wilson embraces the sun-kissed, slightly dingy charm of L.A., the 101 freeway almost a character the endless, continuous blood vessel winding through the entire narrative, creating a sense of place. The heist scenes are tight and well calculated, but not the kind of over-done performances that many modern-day heist films indulge in, and the heist itself is quite real and dangerous, not some kind of highlight reel. It's also a score well done to Blanck Mass, a score that is moody, propulsive, but never overwrought, and only used when it is needed to add to the tension, rather than when it isn't.

The slow pace which is a major strength of the film, allowing some character work to take the time it deserves before the action gets to the next set-piece at times drags a bit too long in the second half of the film, especially during some of the detective's personal subplot scenes, that don't always get the time they deserve. It's a minor blip on the radar in an otherwise tightly wound film and it certainly never slows the pace down.

Final Thoughts: It's a heist thriller with a lot of confidence in its actors, and its atmosphere, as well as its heist.It's a heist thriller that has a lot of trust in its actors and its atmosphere as well as its heist, and it rewards that trust handsomely. Hemsworth, Berry and Ruffalo all hit some of their most understated and effective performances of the year, Layton's direction doesn't get showy, and it has a real sense of place and consequence that many heist films would miss out on without all the showmanship. It doesn't walk in loud and obtrusive like genre fans might imagine, but that's exactly what supports its success.

I think it's a very well directed, suspenseful, and surprisingly moving heist-thriller that is driven by career-best performances from the three leads.

My Take On Snowpiercer S1
So I finally finished Snowpiercer, the TV series, and I have to say , this one really got me, If you don't know the story, it is set after the world has frozen over, the only people left alive are on a train that never stops moving, going round and round the earth forever, the rich people are living well in the front cars, and the poor ones are packed together in the back, eating strange food and struggling to survive, It sounds simple, but the way the story is told, you feel every bit of the unfairness.

The most interesting thing for me was the set up itself, Every episode felt like it was a step up in the fight, and going car-by-car to the people in charge, and each car of the train had its own little world, an aquarium car, a night club car even an outdoor part where they grow plants, I just wanted to keep watching to see what the next car would be.

I know some people say that the middle of season one is slow, especially the murder part, but I didn't mind it, it allowed the show to develop the world properly and make us get to know the characters better than just rushing from battle to battle, some shows try to do exactly that, but this one takes its time to build the world properly, I respect that.

I also loved this show because the actors are great as well, I loved Jennifer Connelly as Melanie, the train owner, she acted really strong and in control, but you could tell she had something on her mind, even though she didn't say much, and Daveed Diggs as Layton, he was not a perfect hero in this show, he was tired, and doing what he had to, without a choice.

Visually, this show is beautiful, the back of the train looks dirty and hopeless, while the front looks bright and comfortable, almost like a different world entirely, you don't even need dialogue to understand the class difference you just see it in how each section looks.

People will compare it to the original movie, and yes, the movie is shorter and moves faster, but I think the show does something the movie couldn't it gives the story more space to grow, more characters to care about, more of the train to explore, that is what kept me hooked, honestly.

Overall, it is a show that will keep you engaged even if some parts are more slow-paced than others, the world they've created is beautifully made and the characters are excellently acted, so if you haven't seen it, I'd recommend it to you. I really liked this one.

**Synopsis**: *When the future of a successful young racing driver is threatened because he is psychologically “falling apart” in the middle of a decisive season, a former karting champion is called in to contain the damage*. Contrary to what many people think when they watch this movie (and perhaps already turn their noses up at everything shown in it, without even understanding the essence of the screenplay itself), it is not about **Formula 1**, but rather about **IndyCar**. The main difference lies in how this project portrays this racing “subgenre” with a perspective that brings more dynamism to this adrenaline-filled motorsport; however, what - *gradually* - causes it to lose its strength throughout its development is the narrative construction of its storylines (which is weak and far too dull).

The screenplay arrives with a different proposal than expected, showing the audience a behind-the-scenes look at IndyCar. Shining a spotlight on competitiveness, event costs, track dimensions, dynamics involving team actions (such as refuelling), car models and their respective performances, this is the project's main focus. However, none of that would make any sense without having the “backbone” to support the entire narrative, and it is precisely at this specific point that the movie fails to stand on its own while trying to “race”. On the one hand, the movie manages to be immersive (and here I mean both the technical aspect of the entire concept, because it offers a broad view of the behind-the-scenes world... while also highlighting some of the controversies that exist beyond the racetrack) to the point of becoming genuinely interesting. On the other hand, it lacks the strength to sustain the weight of its own dilemmas. Essentially, we are faced with a love triangle that brings to the forefront the problems this relationship is causing in the lives of the main drivers (the protagonists).

At times, the screenplay is so bad that it almost feels like an “unused narrative fragment” from an awful Mexican soap opera. There are pathetic scenes starring **Kip Pardue**, **Estella Warren** and **Til Schweiger**, because their respective characters are terribly developed, with an even more problematic execution in terms of their performances as part of the cast. Fortunately, the movie also features **Sylvester Stallone** and **Burt Reynolds** on the same team, which somewhat “softens” the trio's poor performance. No one delivers a truly good performance, but at least Stallone and Reynolds (being veteran actors) manage to bring a little more authenticity to their respective characters. Not everything is the cast's fault, of course, but the irony becomes evident considering that Stallone himself is part of the trio of screenwriters who wrote this project. Although there are good ideas on paper, the audiovisual execution is far too messy to be taken seriously. The movie's tone swings between canned drama, plasticised action and unintentional comedy (where the jokes are almost lifeless).

There is no denying that the screenplay genuinely tries to draw the audience into the world of IndyCar through its frequent visual glimpses of the events taking place behind the scenes (especially when discussing mixed circuits, high speeds, and oval tracks). This naturally raises the adrenaline level of the action scenes, which at times even seem somewhat detached from reality, but nevertheless work effectively because of the tension they generate. However, this is only a fleeting strength within an otherwise very poor screenplay. Visually speaking, the technical side also has problems that are easily noticeable. From very “rough” and speed cuts in the action scenes (certainly an attempt to turn them into a pile-up of nitroglycerin-fuelled cars in order to present the audience with a “battle of cars” that transcends official race tracks), to the highly questionable “special effects” (which, honestly, even reminded me of video games with unfinished post-production). The production design also failed to impress me, although it has a few more inspired moments.

**Renny Harlin** sat in the director's chair and made ***Driven*** feel rather outdated before it had even been put to the test of time. Here, the “visionary” approach remained nothing more than a promise to deliver a different perspective, because even in its repetition of familiar elements, the story frequently fails to excite the audience. This is not the worst racing-related movie ever made, but it is certainly a worthy contender in a competition for the worst movies within the same genre. Watch it and forget it. ---

Hay escenas patéticas protagonizadas por el trío formado por **Kip Pardue**, **Estella Warren** y **Til Schweiger**, porque sus respectivos personajes tienen un desarrollo pésimo y una construcción aún más problemática en cuanto a las interpretaciones del reparto. Afortunadamente, esta película también cuenta con la presencia de **Sylvester Stallone** y **Burt Reynolds** en el mismo equipo, lo que acaba “aliviando” un poco el precario desempeño del trío. A principal diferença está em como esse projeto mostra o “subgênero” das corridas com um olhar que traz mais dinamismo para esse esporte automobilístico cheio de adrenalina; no entanto, o que faz ele - *gradualmente* - perder à sua força ao longo do seu desenvolvimento é a construção narrativa dos núcleos (que é fraca e chata demais). Aqui, o olhar “visionário” ficou apenas na promessa de trazer uma abordagem diferente, porque até mesmo na repetição de elementos, a história frequentemente falha em tentar empolgar o público. Não estamos diante do pior filme do mundo relacionado ao mundo das corridas, mas certamente temos um representante a altura em uma competição de piores filmes dentro do mesmo segmento. About five years ago, I published a review of the film Caveat. At the time, it was the first feature film by Irish director Damian McCarthy. Caveat, as I said then, captivated me with its unsettling atmosphere. I started following this filmmaker because I saw his potential in the horror genre. Two years ago, he released his second film, Oddity, which followed a similar style to the first, although I liked it less.

Now, I recently saw his latest film, Hokum, and this time I was once again impressed by his approach. That said, all three films share a similar style. They all tell a horror story, with some supernatural elements, but they also delve into the psychological aspects of the characters. His main characters carry some kind of past trauma, and he enjoys playing with their minds.

Furthermore, all three films have a slow pace, but that doesn't make them any less interesting, much less boring. I wasn't bored at all. Hokum lives up to my expectations for a story of this kind, and the fact that it managed to hold my attention is already a point in its favor. Another detail I noticed in Hokum is that it maintains a similar visual style to the two previous films. I don't know if the same cinematographer was used.

It's a film where the somewhat oppressive and isolating atmosphere plays an important role. The same was true in Caveat, set in a rural house on an island. In Oddity, the setting of an old house was also used to create a disturbing atmosphere, and in Hokum, it's the main suite of an old Irish hotel and its basement that maintain the suspense for part of the story.

In Hokum, the protagonist is a writer of the genre named Ohm Bauman, who suffers from childhood trauma. He travels to Ireland, to an inn/hotel where his parents stayed when they got married. He carries their ashes with him. He's a grumpy character, with few friends, who doesn't want to be bothered because he's a famous writer. Upon his arrival, something happens that draws him into, which will develop the film's mystery and reveal what torments the writer.

This main character is played by actor Adam Scott, known to many for the series Severance. The actor quite impressed me and carries the weight of the story with aplomb. The cast includes more experienced actors, though perhaps not as well-known to the general public. I enjoyed seeing David Wilmot in a role completely different from the one he played in another film I saw recently. There's even a brief appearance by Austin Amelio, known as Dwight from The Walking Dead.

I wasn't wrong when I said we should pay attention to filmmaker Damian McCarthy when I talked about Caveat. I think he hasn't done his best work yet, but he's on the right track. He uses a style of horror that I like, but of course, he has his detractors because his stories unfold at a slow pace.

I not only recommend Hakum, but I also encourage you to watch Caveat and Oddity, so you can enjoy all three films by this promising horror director.

Hace unos cinco años publiqué una reseña de la película Caveat. En aquel entonces, era el primer largometraje del director irlandés Damian McCarthy. Caveat, como dije entonces, me cautivó con su atmósfera inquietante. Empecé a seguir a este cineasta porque vi su potencial en el género de terror. Hace dos años estrenó su segunda película, Oddity, que seguía un estilo similar a la primera, aunque me gustó menos.

Ahora, recientemente vi su última película, Hokum, y esta vez me entusiasmé de nuevo con su enfoque. Dicho esto, las tres películas tienen un estilo similar. Todas cuentan una historia de terror, con algunos elementos sobrenaturales, pero también profundizan en el aspecto psicológico de los personajes. Sus personajes principales arrastran algún tipo de trauma del pasado, y a él le gusta jugar con sus mentes.

Es una película donde la atmósfera, algo opresiva y aislada, juega un papel importante. Lo mismo ocurría en Caveat, ambientada en una casa rural en una isla. En Oddity, el escenario de una casa antigua también se utilizó para crear una atmósfera inquietante, y en Hokum, es la suite principal de un antiguo hotel irlandés y su sótano los que mantienen el suspense durante parte de la historia.

En Hokum, el protagonista es un escritor del género llamado Ohm Bauman, quien sufre un trauma infantil. Viaja a Irlanda, a una posada/hotel donde se hospedaron sus padres cuando se casaron. Lleva consigo sus cenizas. Es un personaje gruñón, con pocos amigos, que no quiere que lo molesten porque es un escritor famoso. Tras su llegada, ocurre algo en lo que se ve involucrado, lo que desarrollará el misterio de la película y revelará qué atormenta al escritor.

Este personaje principal es interpretado por el actor Adam Scott, conocido por muchos por la serie Severance. El actor me ha convencido bastante y asume con solvencia el peso de la historia. El reparto incluye actores con más experiencia, pero quizás no tan conocidos por el público. Disfruté viendo al actor David Wilmot en un papel completamente diferente al que interpretó en otra película que vi hace poco. Incluso hay una breve aparición del actor Austin Amelio, conocido como Dwight de The Walking Dead.

No me equivoqué al decir que deberíamos prestar atención al cineasta Damian McCarthy cuando hablé de Caveat. Creo que aún no ha hecho su mejor trabajo, pero va por buen camino. Utiliza un estilo de terror que me gusta, pero claro, tiene sus detractores porque sus historias se desarrollan a un ritmo lento.

No solo recomiendo Hakum, sino que también les invito a ver Caveat y Oddity, para que puedan disfrutar de las tres películas de este prometedor director de terror.

My review of the tv series Vera
Hello hivers, this is the first review I wrote using scrobble and, sure, I'll write other reviews here from time to time! At first, you have to know I love so much to watch the crime drama tv series, especially the british ones. Maybe because one of my favorite writers since I was a girl is Agatha Christie (I'm a big fan of her novels) and I read a lot of crime books too, but at the end I think I like the mistery and the enigma inside every good crime fiction.

Today I decided to talk to you about "Vera", a British crime drama tv series based on the novels by Ann Cleeves. The main characters is the detective Vera Stanhope played by Brenda Blethyn, an excellent actress with a long long career. The series was broadcasted for the first time in the 2011 and there are 14 seasons (around 4-6 episodes for each season). The last episode was a special one in January 2025. In my opinion, the strength of this tv series is in the character of Vera Stanhope. She is a middle aged woman, a nearly retired DCI of the Northumberland Police, she has no family, she is very irascible (even if she has a good heart at the end) and very obsessive about her work . She doesn't take care about her look and plods along in a dishevelled state, ofeten wearing an old raincoat (this thing makes me think about the Lieutenant Columbo played by Peter Falk), but she is a very smart woman and thanks her skills every case is solved.

Every episode is about one crime case and this is good for me, because I don't love so much to wait more episode to know who is the guilty. Another thing I like about this tv series is that there are no romance, no sex, just a simple (but not simple) mistery to solve.

A curiosity: I watched it in the italian version and in our version Vera often tell "caro" (the italian word for "dear") when she talk with someone. Here it's common for an old woman (like me :D ) to start a conversation with that word "Caro", especially if you have to say something sad or bad. 😃

Si tío siempre tuvo razón en que debía usar su inteligencia, estudiar, y planear para lograr su objetivo, me pareció buena, nada fuera de lo común estamos acostumbrados a ver este tipo de películas donde el protagonista busca venganza, me parece que hay escenas muy exageradas como cuando toma ambas armas y dispara de forma perfecta a los mafiosos, o cuando en la pelea le gana a su oponente a pesar de recibir solo algunos golpes. Pero si hay momentos de acción y de suspenso, no es excelente pero te entretiene.

There goes that racing car again (1997) The pleasant memory that seeing a Volkswagen brought back to me[Eng-Spn]
Recently, on my way to work, I saw a car that caught my eye. I don't know much about car models, but it looked like a Volkswagen. I did some research, and it seems the model is a Volkswagen Type 3 Fastback (or Volkswagen TL/1600 Fastback, produced between the late 1960s and early 1970s).

Seeing this car model reminded me that many years ago I saw a movie starring a car named Herbie. The movie was The Love Bug (1968), also known in Spanish as Herbie, the Motorized Cupid. "There Goes That Car Again (1997)"

Encountering this Volkswagen on the road brought back memories of watching this movie as a child, and I wanted to share a retro review of one of the best films of my childhood.

Herbie is the name given to a car, technically a Volkswagen Beetle, driven in the film by a professional racer. Hay una escena muy graciosa donde en un semáforo se encuentran con un carro último modelo y este empieza a hacer acrobacias, Ruper y la chica se quedan sorprendidos, pero en ese momento el carro número 53 empieza a hacer increíbles maniobras solo, los chicos del carro último modelo se quedan asombrados y la chica se da cuenta que Ruper el mecánico no ha hecho nada para maniobrarlo el carro lo hizo solo. A partir de allí el carro 53 empieza a maniobrarse solo.

Cuando por fin se dutuvieron la chica evidentemente molesta, no tanto por las acrobacias del carro sino por el desaire que le hizo Ruper tiempo atrás. Ella decide muy molesta preguntarle a Ruper por qué habia terminado su relación amorosa con ella y éste le dice porque ella lo que hacía era hablarle de carreras automovilisticas, jejejej y por supuesto, ella era periodista de fórmula 1.

A partir de este momento surgen entre ellos y Herbie el Volkswagen diversos acontecimientos muy graciosos que se desarrollarán a lo largo de la película. Si te gusta la comedia, el romance, la películas retro y los autos antiguos, esta película es ideal para ti, pasarás un momento divertido y verás un clasico de los años 90.

Incantation (2022) – A Horror Movie That Truly Got Under My Skin

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. I have always been a lover of horror movies and today I am going to review one of my favourite horror movie and share a real incident connected to it. Also, there's no spoilers today so read without any worries. To be honest, I find it very exciting to sit in a dark room, there's silence all over and waiting for that next scary moment. I know many people who like the genre of romance or action and they do not like horror, some people say there isn't any good movie of horrors and some say that it doesn't scare them, they find it funny. Well, I think most of them are scared to watch so they came up with excuses. Because there are plenty of horror movies which can scare you to death. Anyway, horror genre has always been my favourite. I know many horror movies follow the same formula with jump scares and creepy music, yet every now and then I find one that feels completely different. Incantation is one of those movies. I can guarantee if you watch it alone in a dark room, you will definitely feel something.

You know what? I did not plan to watch it at first because I thought it must be one of the worst ones. But then I had seen people talking about it online saying it was one of the scariest horror movies they had ever watched. So, I was intrigued to watch the trailer and I still thought people might be exaggerating because that happens a lot with horror movies. But then my friends were saying that we must watch this movie as it's on hype. I also had researched about it online and found many positive reviews, so yeah, my curiosity won. I decided that it was finally time to watch it.

There was only one small problem. Even if I watch a movie from a different country I usually prefer watching dubbed movies, because most of the time I eat during movie time. So, I can't keep my eyes on the subtitles and food at the same time. Moreover, I like focusing on the scenes instead of reading subtitles. Unfortunately, there was no English dub available at that time, so I had to watch it with English subtitles. Yes, I know if we watch the originals in their actual form then it can make the experience more enjoyable, but it's not like I avoid it intentionally. Anyway, after just a few minutes, I forgot that I was reading subtitles because the movie pulled me into its world so well.

The more I praise, the more it feels less because the movie turned out to be really good. Everything felt so real was because of the sound design. Every little sound, every strange noise, every whisper felt incredibly realistic. I won't lie but I was lowering my volume at some moments, because with the volume turned up I was feeling scared. Honestly, I could feel that intensity and as if I was inside the movie instead of simply watching it. It didn't feel like they exaggerated any background sounds because it was very natural. I won't lie but I kept looking around my room wondering if something would move around my room. I am a bit delusional, hehe.

Let's get into the real incident which had happened while watching the movie, I will probably never forget about it. I forgot to mention, I was watching this movie with one of my girl friend. She came over because we hadn't meet in a while, so we both wanted to do something. That's why we were watching this movie together. Back to the incident. So, there was a creepy sound was playing in the background during one of the scenes, it was a chant. It slowly became louder, making the whole atmosphere feel uncomfortable. Then I don't know what happened but I could still hear the sound even after I paused the movie. My heart started to beat fast because of fear. I asked my friend if she can hear it too, and she said "Yes." Then we looked outside the window wondering where it was coming from. But we couldn't not find the source of it. It was really strange. Well, I do not believe in ghosts but I believe there are some entities out there which is not visible to our eyes. For that reason, I was feeling more scared. This is the link of the sound that was creeping me out, watch it at your own risk. When I searched for it, I didn't have the courage to replay it so I just copied the link for you guys. I think it felt more creepy when it was playing in the movie.

The scariest part is that the sound was almost exactly the same as the one used in the movie and we were hearing it in real life. I have watched so many horror movies but never faced such things. This was my first and maybe the last experience? I hope it's the last. After checking everything, my fear had already kicked in. I would have thought that I'm imagining things but how can my friend hear it as well?

Because of that moment, we actually stopped watching the movie for a while. Yes, it scared us that much. At that moment, nobody wanted to continue. I cannot remember the last time a horror movie made me pause it because I was genuinely scared. That alone says a lot about how effective Incantation is.

I haven't discussed about the movie plot yet, so here's a brief summary. It's about a woman who's name is Li Ronan, she and her friends goes to a religious village and learns about something they shouldn't. Later they breaks a religious taboo while investigating a mysterious rituals. Guess what? A terrible curse started to follow them. After that incident, years passed and Ronan now has a daughter but the curse begins affecting her child, and Ronan desperately tries to protect her. So, you will get to experience the story between the past and the present. It's like a slow burn where everything is revealed slowly.

If the movie had revealed everything immediately then I wouldn't have enjoyed it this much. When small pieces of information are given as an audience I was also curious and it made me want to investigate more. Even if you had your answers for previous questions, you would still get two new questions in mind. Honestly, the mysterious vibe kept me interested from beginning to end.

Also, the found-footage style was creative and I have seen many movies using the same concept but they don't know how to do it properly. The movie will make you think what if it's real, everything feel as if it was shoot with a real camera it didn't feel like I was watching a normal movie. It made every scene feel more believable, almost like watching real events unfold. Everything felt so natural and I even forgot I was watching a fictional movie.

The cast deserves a praise for making it possible. The emotions felt real specially Ronan's fear and desperation to save her daughter. I was literally panicking with her. The young little girl also did an amazing job, she was truly adorable. Their relationship made the story more emotional instead of being scary all the time. I was feeling sad for Ronan because she was struggling a lot as she did not deserve all of these. Which made me wonder why every time something bad happens with the innocent people.

I am glad the movie relied more on atmosphere than on constant jump scares. Of course, there were a few jumpscare which was too good and those moments were one of the best part of the movie. I usually hate jump scare, because in other movies it's included multiple times. But the real horror came from the feeling that something terrible was always nearby. I felt uncomfortable in the room even though my friend was watching the movie with me. Actually, we both were scared and still wanted to finish it.

The movie also uses religious beliefs, symbols, rituals and psychological fear in a very interesting way. So, if you don't like these kind of concepts then it would be better not to watch it. They didn't focus of violence or gore that much. The movie leaves everything for your imagination and I believe what you imagine is much scarier than what you actually see.

Of course, no movie is perfect. Since it is a found-footage film, the camera sometimes shakes a lot, which may not be enjoyable for everyone. Also, whenever I suggested this movie to someone they wouldn't watch it, because there was no english dub. People who dislike reading while watching might find it a little difficult. But I think the English dub wouldn't be able to create such atmosphere and portray it so fluently as it was in korean. The story's atmosphere are strong enough that these small issues wouldn't matter for someone who loves horror movies.

After finishing the movie, I understood why so many people recommended it. It's more than a horror movie which isn't filled with cheap scares. Even now, when I remember that strange moment with the background sound continuing after I paused the movie, I still get goosebumps. I still have no clue why and how it had happened. But it made the whole experience unforgettable.

If you are like me daring hehe, then you should definitely watch this movie. I highly recommend giving Incantation a chance. When you watch it at night with the lights off don't use your mobile or chat with anyone just focus on the movie only. Turn the volume up if you really want the full experience. Just be prepared—you might end up pausing the movie like....I did.

In the end, Incantation is one of the most memorable horror movies I have ever watched. The experience was terrifying and unforgettable. It is definitely a movie that every horror fan should watch at least once. Add it to your watch list now! I would love to know if it was upto your taste and was it worth it, just like the way I have described.

A diferencia de La actuación de Sam Worthington que como todo gran actor logra transmite muy bien la desesperación, el peso del duelo y la determinación implacable de un padre que no tiene nada que perder. En el elenco secundario tenemos actuaciones como la de Britt Lower y Milo Ventimiglia actores que le da mucha más solidez al conflicto familiar y policial de la trama. La serie cuenta con 8 capítulos en su mayoría de un tiempo aproximado de 40 minutos y cada cierre cumple de sobra con su cometido, mantenernos al borde del asiento durante sus 8 episodios.

It has been almost forty years since the last film adaptation of the character. He-Man returned once again to the big screen with "Masters of the Universe." A movie directed by Travis Knight, who with his creative vision revived an iconic eighties franchise. At the same time, he achieved what few directors can do these days: "please their audience" (the nostalgic fans).

I am not a fan of the TV series "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" but I was familiar with it since childhood. It was not from my era of cartoons, and I had the impression that it was a very outdated series. When I learned that a movie of the franchise was being produced, I had no interest, but that changed when I saw the first trailer. And I realized it is a much better adaptation than I expected.

The plot tells how Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine), after spending fifteen years living on Earth, recovers his magic sword and travels to his home planet Eternia along with his childhood friend, Teela (Camila Mendes). His main mission is to become the hero He-Man and free the planet from the tyranny of the evil Skeletor.

I would describe the story as an action journey with plenty of humor where everything revolves around hand-to-hand fights or chases involving laser gunfire.

It reminded me of the Guardians of the Galaxy saga and Star Wars, two of my favorite film franchises. This movie is set in a universe where fantastic magic and high-tech science fiction coexist in harmony without canceling each other out. It's like seeing in live-action the fantasy world we all dreamt of living in someday.

Unlike recent film adaptations that involve the existence of a real world (for example: a Minecraft movie), this one’s screen time for Earth is very short, which is appreciated. The first 20 minutes are like a summary of the first Thor movie (2011). However, once the real action starts in the dazzling landscapes of Eternia, it is fantastic.

Travis Knight opted for a light tone that embraces the original material very faithfully without becoming outdated, using humor I would say is directly inspired by the comedic style of Guardians of the Galaxy.

If I had to find faults with the film, I think it would be the use of CGI in several aspects of the aesthetics (and of course, when dealing with a world of magic and fantasy full of alien monsters and robots, it's expected to use this resource), but what I mean is that sometimes the excess of CGI was noticeable in action scenes. That made some sequences feel disconnected from the narrative.

As for the acting, I have to say this is the first time I know Nicholas Galitzine; I understand he has experience as a drama actor. In this movie, he delivers a surprising performance that adds dimensionality to the role of He-Man.

But who caught my attention was Jared Leto as Skeletor; he is physically unrecognizable, but he performed on set and gave voice to the character, bringing charisma as best he could, and that is admirable.

Alongside him, Idris Elba playing Man-At-Arms made me realize one thing: they are typecasting him as an action hero who uses firearms (something seen in "The Suicide Squad (2021)" by James Gunn when he played Bloodsport).

It is an exciting journey for fans of action and "epic" moments. I have yet to understand why it was a box office failure when critics applaud "Masters of the Universe": its global gross was $113.6 million, and it has been labeled disappointing due to its massive production budget. Perhaps it is the best movie of its genre this year. It is highly recommended.

Plot

We’re continuing this comedy special dedicated to one of my favorite actors in the genre, Adam Sandler. One thing I’ll admit this actor does well—aside from making us laugh—is starring in romantic movies, as is the case with The Wedding Singer. I don’t consider it the most romantic or the funniest of them all, but I have to say it’s quite entertaining—more so than I remembered at the time. As expected, this movie was another one of the many Sandler films I used to watch on TV.

It seems that, aside from being a great comedian, Adam Sandler is also quite the romantic, and we can see this clearly in his role in this movie. We see him play a wedding singer who, at first, is happy because he’s about to marry the woman who’s supposed to be “the love of his life,” Linda.
