Hey Hive friends, we're going to review the first episode of the Digital Circus Series. I've never done a review before, but my mom @cositav is helping me do it for the first time on the https://scrobble.life/movies site, and I wanted to do it with the Digital Circus Series.

This series begins with the main character, Pomni. She suddenly appears in what seems like a very colorful place. Later, she realizes it's a circus. When she arrives, she's frightened because she doesn't know how she got there. She only remembers putting on a virtual reality headset at some point, and now she's trapped in a rag doll body.

Standing there, not knowing what to do, she is approached by Raghata, a character from the Circus, who tries to calm her down, telling her that everyone is scared the first time they suddenly appear in the Digital Circus. Pomni doesn't understand anything that's happening and has no memory of her past. Later on, other characters appear, including a very powerful character in the series named Caine, who is the "owner" of the place. He tells her that she's there to have fun, and Jack, another character who appears along with Raghata, takes her to visit Cosmo, a clown, to ask for his help in escaping the Digital Circus. But when they finally find him, Cosmo is in a state of abstraction, meaning that when they become absorbed in their own thoughts, they lose the ability to reason and think for themselves.

The episode ends with Pomni at a dinner party with the other characters, completely bewildered and frozen, watching everything unfold around her.

Hola amiguitos de Hive, vamos a hacer una reseña del primer capítulo de la Serie del Circo Digital, nunca he hecho una reseña pero mi mamá @cositav me está ayudando a hacerla por primera vez en el sitio de https://scrobble.life/movies y quise hacerla con la Serie del Circo Digital.

Esta serie Comieza con el personaje principal llamado Pomni ella aparece de repente en lo que parece un sitio muy colorido más adelante se da cuenta que es un Circo cuando llega se asusta porque no sabe cómo llegó a ahí, solo recuerda que en algún momento se colocó un casco de realidad virtual y ahora está atrapada en un cuerpo de trapo.

Al estar allí sin saber que hacer se le acerca Raghata un personaje que pertenece al Circo y trata de calmarla diciéndole que todos la primera vez nos asustamos cuando aparecemos de repente en el Circo Digital Pomni no entiende nada de lo que sucede ni recuerda de su pasado. Mas adelante van apareciendo otros personajes entre ellos un personaje muy poderoso en la serie llamado Caine, el cual, es el "dueño" del lugar, el le dice que ella está allí para divertirse y Jack otro personaje que aparece junto con Raghata se la llevan para visitar a Cosmo un payaso al cual le van a pedir ayuda para salir del Circo digital pero cuando por fin lo encuentran Cosmo está abstraído, esto significa que que cuando se abstraen pierden la capacidad de razonar y pensar por si mismos.

El capítulo termina cuando Pomni está en una cena juntos con los demás personajes y sin entender absolutamente nada se queda congelada viendo lo que pasa a su alrededor.

There’s no doubt that old movies will always be better. I don’t know why, but they just seemed to have more excitement back then, especially action films like this one, which grab you right from the start with their scenes.

We see two great actors, John Travolta and Nicolas Cage, in a brutal showdown—a battle between good and evil.

I recently saw Travolta on social media, and I was surprised by how well he’s held up—obviously thanks to plastic surgery, ha ha ha—but anyway, the point is that it reminded me of this movie. As I said, it’s full of action, drama, and pure adrenaline in every scene—you definitely won’t get bored; it’s worth it.

That’s why they say classics will always be the best—it’s these kinds of stories that draw you in, and with top-notch actors, they’re always more entertaining.

Sin duda las películas de antes siempre serán mejores, no se porque pero antes como que tenían mas emoción, sobre todo los films de acción, como esta, donde desde un principio te atrapa con sus escenas.

Vemos a dos grandes actores, como lo son Jhon Travolta y Nicolas Cage, en un enfrentamiento brutal, una lucha entre el bien y el mal.

Hace poco vi por las redes al actor Travolta, me sorprendió como se ha mantenido ,claro a punta de cirugía jajaja, pero bueno, la cuestión es que me hizo recordar esta película, como dije, llena de acción, drama, y pura adrenalina, en cada escena, eso si, no te aburres, vale la pena.

Por eso dicen que los clásicos siempre serán los mejores, son este tipo de historias que atraen, y con actores de primera, siempre resultan mas entretenidas.

This film is about a girl who has just moved to a new house with her parents. Coraline doesn't know anyone, she isn't allowed to go out, and she feels like her parents aren't paying attention to her. Tired of this situation, she starts bothering them to get their attention, until her stressed mother finally gives her permission to explore the house. That's how she finds a small, locked door that intrigues her. Her mother gives her the key, but when she opens it, she's disappointed to see that the door is completely locked.

However, that same morning, some mice lead her to a secret tunnel. Upon crossing it, she discovers a world identical to her own, but where her parents do care for and indulge her. The only disturbing detail is that they have buttons for eyes. The illusion shatters when they tell her that, to stay there, she too must sew buttons onto her eyes. Coraline refuses, and that is when the "Other Mother" transforms into a terrifying being. In the end, I love that it leaves you wondering whether she really escaped or if it was all a figment of her imagination.

It's a film worth watching so you can draw your own conclusions about the plot, where you encounter situations that are sometimes not what they seem.

A new adaptation of William Golding's novel is now available, this time as a four-part miniseries. Lord of the Flies had already been adapted for film. As a child, I had the opportunity to see the original 1970s version; I watched it on television, of course, with some parts cut and dubbed. Back then, I was shocked by the children's brutality. From a young age, I was drawn to somewhat disturbing stories.

And there's nothing more disturbing than seeing the face of evil in a child. For example, there's a film that I find very unsettling and terrifying; coincidentally, it's also from the 1970s. It's called Who Can Kill a Child?, which was remade around 2010 or 2011; I don't remember the exact date, and of course, it never lived up to the original.

We tend to associate children and teenagers with a stage of innocence, kindness, and so on, but that's not the case. I've said this many times in other reviews of stories I've read. People struggle to admit that evil is inherent in us. Even the kindest person in the world can, due to the circumstances they face, become a tyrant, a monster, an evil being. Yes, you're probably thinking: no, you're wrong, I'm a good person, I would never hurt anyone, I would never kill, I would never do this, etc. Wake up! Just because your current situation aligns with your moral values ​​and is normal doesn't mean you're evil. But if that environment, that situation, is disrupted, changes, and pushes you to the limit, you can do bad things.

That's what always drew me to this story: how the normalcy of civilization, represented by these children, most of whom have received a good education, finds itself alone, without adults to supervise or give them orders. They establish their own rules, divide into factions, and bring out the worst in humanity. The author of the novel fought in World War II, and of course, witnessing the atrocities committed by Nazism and how people blindly followed Hitler undoubtedly influenced the development of his story. It's something we continue to see today: how hatred unites people around ideologies.

I generally liked this new adaptation. There are only a couple of details that didn't quite convince me. One of them, I understand, is an adaptation tailored to that generation's audience, and I consider that valid, as long as it serves to attract young people to this story. The other is what bothers me: the political correctness. The character of Ralph is African American, the son of a white British man and a Black woman. Here we have the integration quota of current productions, while Jack is blond with blue eyes. Why didn't they do the opposite?

Behind the miniseries is Jack Thorne, creator of the successful miniseries Adolescence, so it's understandable that he includes his ideology in the story. However, it must be admitted that Adolescence was good, and this version of Lord of the Flies also boasts solid technical production. What I liked most was the cast, especially Piggy, the chubby, intellectual kid of the group.

En aquel entonces, me impactó la brutalidad de los niños. Desde pequeño, me atrajeron las historias un tanto perturbadoras.

Incluso la persona más bondadosa del mundo puede, debido a las circunstancias que enfrenta, convertirse en un tirano, un monstruo, un ser malvado. Sí, probablemente estés pensando: no, te equivocas, soy buena persona, nunca lastimaría a nadie, nunca mataría, nunca haría esto, etc. ¡Despierta! Que tu situación actual se ajuste a tus valores morales y sea normal no significa que seas malvado. Pero si ese entorno, esa situación, se altera, cambia y te lleva al límite, puedes hacer cosas malas.

Esta nueva adaptación me ha gustado en general. Solo hay un par de detalles que no me convencieron del todo. Uno de ellos, entiendo, es una adaptación adecuada para el público de esa generación, y la considero válida, siempre y cuando sirva para atraer a los jóvenes a ver esta historia. El otro es lo que me molesta: la cuota de corrección política. El personaje de Ralph es afroamericano, hijo de un hombre blanco británico y una mujer negra. Aquí tenemos la cuota de integración de las producciones actuales, mientras que Jack es rubio de ojos azules. ¿Por qué no hicieron lo contrario?

Another Yellowstone spin-off has premiered. We have to squeeze every last drop out of it. I've seen two episodes and I'm hooked. Marshalls, a Yellowstone story, is the only spin-off that hasn't won me over, because they've given it a somewhat procedural style. It has action and works as entertainment, but it's not my cup of tea. Besides, Kayce was never my favorite Yellowstone character.

On the other hand, Beth Dutton was my favorite character from the original series, along with Rip, so I was more interested in them continuing with these characters and the Duttons' adventures, without the ranch and the land they protected so vehemently. By the way, in Kayce's series, I think it was a mistake to eliminate his wife's character.

The Duttons will be plagued with problems, no doubt about it. Besides, if there are no problems, there's no story to tell. This agent will never have peace. The opening sequence shows us what forces Beth, Rip, and Carter to move to Texas, where they buy a ranch.

By a twist of fate, the three members of the family will encounter some members of the Jackson family, a powerful clan whose ranch and control of those lands date back 190 years. The central figure of this family, who is their counterpart, is Beulah Jackson, a woman very similar to each of the Dutton leaders.

If we look at it from another perspective, setting aside the affection we, as viewers, feel for the Duttons, these Jacksons are actually doing the same thing the Duttons did in Montana. Let's not forget that the Duttons had their mafia ways, and if that meant killing, dumping bodies on a mountain, and eliminating whoever was their enemy, that's what they did. The Jacksons are the same, only they are the villains because they will face Beth and Rip.

Beth will not only have to adapt to the Texas heat; she will have to show her most dangerous side. This woman is dangerous, so Beulah Jackson surely has some surprises in store. Of course, one of the Jacksons is a real villain, the typical obsessive-compulsive type who can't control himself, wanting to beat and kill everyone. His character is named Rob-Will, and he's played by Jai Courtney. I hope they don't give him much screen time and that they kill him off, because Courtney playing him is a clear sign that he's going to hell. I've never liked this actor, but since he played the villain in the movie Dangerous Animals, my opinion of him has changed a bit.

I'm happy to see the Colombian actor Juan Pablo Raba playing Joaquín, Rob-Will's brother and, apparently, the mastermind behind this new clan. He's a very popular actor in my country, since he lived here many years ago and starred in telenovelas for quite some time. Many telenovelas were made in my country before socialism destroyed even the audiovisual industry. So far, his character has convinced me; he's doing a good job.

Carter is your typical teenage cowboy, a bit of a clown, but I know he won't hesitate when it comes to wielding a gun. That's why Beth and Rip raised him. Of course, his role is the one that bothers me the most, because he ends up involved with none other than Rob-Will's daughter. So, as the season progresses, things are going to get increasingly explosive, or at least I hope so.

I liked what I saw and I'll watch the whole thing. It has potential; I want to see more of the Duttons' adventures. If it gets good ratings, they'll probably get a second season, because it seems like Yellowstone is here to stay.

Se ha estrenado otro spin-off de Yellowstone. Tenemos que exprimirle hasta la última gota. He visto dos episodios y estoy enganchado. I saw this film months ago and had forgotten to recommend it. It's a Spanish road movie where two characters with completely opposite personalities, both a mess, meet. Their lives are chaotic. By chance, or rather, by the film's plot, they end up traveling from Valencia, Spain, to a town in Romania.

Like any good road trip, besides seeing beautiful landscapes, places they stop, and the typical road scenes, it shows how these two men, who agree that one of them will drive, get to know each other little by little, having their disagreements and arguments, but also forging a friendship: the most beautiful part of this type of film.

Mario seems terrified of the road; he doesn't know how to drive. At first glance, he seems quite crazy; he has mental health issues, needs medication, and struggles to speak clearly and answer confidently. Who on earth is this man? Besides always carrying a briefcase, he never wants to be without it. What does he keep in there? Is he a criminal? Where did he get so much money, and why is he so determined to go to a certain place, supposedly to see a bird? Who is he looking for?

Although the answers to these questions might suggest a dark and criminal plot, that's not the case at all. On the contrary, what he's doing is a great act of love. He needs to settle accounts with the past, with his mistakes, and with his personal tragedy. Love and guilt consume him. His story is moving.

Colombo is the typical cunning man who takes advantage of everyone, a womanizer, a drinker; he enjoys life as if it were his last day, but inside and out he's broken. His son had a birthday, and he couldn't give him a proper gift, or even see him. He has financial problems, but he also feels empty inside. Incapable of being with the person he loves, incapable of being a support to that special person. Is living only for pleasure a way of hiding his sadness?

Two magnificent Spanish actors, whose work I admire. Both award-winning: Javier Gutiérrez and Luis Sahera. Just seeing the two of them makes the movie worth watching. They're excellent in their roles, and their unlikely chemistry as a couple is breathtaking.

Vi esta película hace meses y se me había olvidado recomendarla. Es una película española de carretera donde dos personajes con personalidades totalmente opuestas, pero ambos un desastre, se encuentran. Sus vidas son un caos. Por azares del destino, o mejor dicho, por la trama de la película, acaban viajando desde Valencia, España, hasta un pueblo de Rumanía.

Como en cualquier buen viaje por carretera, además de ver paisajes preciosos, lugares donde paran y las típicas escenas de carretera, muestra cómo estos dos hombres, que llegan a un acuerdo para que uno de ellos conduzca, se van conociendo poco a poco, teniendo sus roces y discusiones, pero también forjando una amistad: la parte más bonita de este tipo de películas.

Mario parece aterrorizado por la carretera; no sabe conducir. A primera vista, parece bastante loco; tiene problemas mentales, necesita medicación y le cuesta articular palabras y responder con seguridad. ¿Quién demonios es este hombre? Además de llevar siempre un maletín en la mano, nunca quiere separarse de él. ¿Qué guarda ahí? ¿Es un criminal? ¿De dónde sacó tanto dinero y por qué está tan empeñado en ir a cierto lugar, supuestamente para ver un pájaro? ¿A quién busca?

Aunque las respuestas a estas preguntas podrían sugerir una trama oscura y criminal, no es así en absoluto. Al contrario, lo que hace es un gran acto de amor. Necesita saldar cuentas con el pasado, con sus errores y con su tragedia personal. El amor y la culpa lo consumen. Su historia es conmovedora.

Colombo es el típico hombre astuto que se aprovecha de todo, un mujeriego, un bebedor; disfruta la vida como si fuera el último día, pero por dentro y por fuera está destrozado. Su hijo cumplió años y no pudo darle un buen regalo, ni siquiera verlo. Tiene problemas económicos, pero también se siente vacío por dentro. Incapaz de estar con la persona que ama, incapaz de ser el apoyo de esa persona especial. ¿Vivir solo por placer es una forma de ocultar su tristeza?

Dos magníficos actores españoles, cuyo trabajo admiro. Ambos premiados: Javier Gutiérrez y Luis Sahera. Solo con verlos a ellos dos ya vale la pena ver la película. Son excelentes en sus papeles y la química que tienen como pareja, tan improbable, es impresionante.

That's why, in Spain, for example, programs like El Hormiguero have high ratings.

Tortora was admired by the public, by many people. That admiration could have provoked envy and resentment, especially coming from a deranged individual, someone with mental health issues belonging to the Italian Camorra. It all seems so absurd that a simple accusation could turn that man's life into a living hell.

Marco Bellocchio revisits important themes from his country's history, events that marked an era. These were times of tremendous crisis for the country. I already sent you a review of another Bellocchio miniseries about the Aldo Moro case. Here, the filmmaker uses his talent to criticize the judicial system, the madness of men who were deceived and then couldn't cover up their mistakes.

Destroying someone's reputation simply to gain political advantage in the eyes of society and those in power. When searching online for information about Enzo Tortora, it's truly heartbreaking what happened not only to him, but also to his family and loved ones, who suffered the absurd accusation of belonging to the Italian Camorra and of being the contact for drug distribution among people in the entertainment industry.

I didn't know much about this case, and after watching the miniseries and researching it further, one feels truly outraged by this event, which, sadly, is not uncommon in other parts of the world. Just as happened in Tortora, similar injustices continue to occur in many other places, across different languages ​​and cultures. The worst part is that what we see in this story, set between the late seventies and early eighties, remains so relevant today.

Resulta irónico que un sistema judicial destinado a impartir verdadera justicia acabe tan corrupto que dispense injusticias. Este es el caso central de esta historia real, que, de no ser por su registro histórico, cualquiera creería que es ficción.

Portobello narra la historia de Enzo Tortora, un exitoso presentador de televisión que, al parecer, alcanzó la cima del éxito con el programa Portobello, que gozaba de gran audiencia en Italia. Por lo que veo, era un programa de variedades del tipo que gusta mucho al público. Digo "gusta" porque hoy en día existen programas con un formato similar que tienen éxito en sus respectivos países. Aunque ya no veo la televisión, y creo que el número de jóvenes que la ven está disminuyendo, todavía hay un amplio sector de la población en cada país que sigue viéndola. Por eso, en España, por ejemplo, programas como El Hormiguero tienen altos índices de audiencia.

Tortora era admirado por el público, por mucha gente. Esa admiración podría haber provocado envidia y resentimiento, especialmente viniendo de un demente, alguien con problemas mentales perteneciente a la Camorra italiana. Todo parece tan absurdo que una simple acusación pudiera convertir la vida de ese hombre en un infierno.

Marco Bellocchio retoma temas importantes de la historia de su país, acontecimientos que marcaron una época. Eran tiempos de tremenda crisis para el país. Ya les envié una reseña de otra miniserie de Bellocchio sobre el caso Aldo Moro. Aquí, el cineasta utiliza su talento para criticar el sistema judicial, la locura de hombres que se dejaron engañar y luego no supieron encubrir sus errores.

Destruir la reputación de alguien solo para obtener réditos políticos ante la sociedad y los que ostentan el poder. Al buscar información en línea sobre Enzo Tortora, resulta verdaderamente triste lo que le sucedió, no solo a él, sino también a su familia y seres queridos, quienes sufrieron la absurda acusación de pertenecer a la Camorra italiana y de ser el contacto para la distribución de drogas entre personas del mundo del espectáculo.

No sabía mucho sobre este caso, y después de ver la miniserie y buscar más información, uno se siente realmente indignado por este hecho, que lamentablemente no es infrecuente en otras partes del mundo. Al igual que sucedió en Tortora, injusticias similares siguen ocurriendo en muchos otros lugares, con diferentes idiomas y culturas. Lo peor es que lo que vemos en esta historia, ambientada entre finales de los setenta y principios de los ochenta, sigue siendo tan relevante hoy en día.

Otra historia real que merece ser vista y recordada para que tales errores no se repitan. La recomiendo; espero que les guste y me lo hagan saber en los comentarios.

The first thing I can say about this film is: What a beautiful film! It's one of those productions that touches the sensitive chord you sometimes need. Even for me, a confirmed pessimist, these stories revitalize me and, for a brief moment, fill me with joy.

Set in a Galician village, the film deals with the rondalla, a tradition deeply rooted in some parts of Spain, although in Latin America, due to the same Spanish influence, it's known in many countries, some more than others, though it doesn't reach the same level of tradition as in Spain, at least not in my country.

That this film wasn't nominated for Best Film at the Goya Awards seems like a crime to me. It only received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor. And for me, this film is superior to a couple of those that were nominated in the main categories. It seems crazy to me, but of course, there's no progressive message here, and perhaps it didn't meet the progressive requirements and quotas of Spanish cinema.

The story centers on a Galician village where, two years ago, a tragedy occurred: seven people died in a boating accident, including the captain of the village's rondalla (a traditional Spanish folk music group). Only two survived. The investigation continues as they try to locate the wreckage of the vessel.

Luis, one of the survivors and the deceased captain's best friend, decides it's time to reform the rondalla for the next competition. If they win, they can share the prize with the victims' families. Of course, this is where the conflicts begin: recovering everything—faith, hope, and the will to live. Especially since he's now dating the captain's wife, who has two daughters. The eldest, named Andrea, is initially reluctant to play with the rondalla again.

The film explores collective grief and how, by doing something the deceased would have been proud of, they can overcome that loss. Likewise, Andrea's mother has the right to rebuild her life. Although everyone is affected and sadness permeates the atmosphere, reviving the rondalla serves as a catharsis for their grief.

All of this is handled with good humor, featuring endearing characters, imperfect like everyone else, but with big hearts. It's the kind of comedy that guarantees success, and I think the film has been well-received by most people. If I liked it, and I'm completely unfamiliar with Galician culture and folk songs, I imagine Galicians must like it even more.

There are stories that, however local or indigenous they may seem, have a universal message. Tragedy, love, sacrifice: all of that is universal, and when you tell a good story with charming characters, you get products like this. Films that deserve wider distribution and to be seen by a larger audience.

Look for it; you won't regret it. It's a beautiful film.

Lo primero que puedo decir de esta película es: ¡Qué película tan hermosa! Es una de esas producciones que tocan la fibra sensible que a veces se necesita. Incluso para mí, un pesimista empedernido, estas historias me revitalizan y, por un breve instante, me llenan de alegría.

Ambientada en un pueblo gallego, la película trata sobre la rondalla, una tradición muy arraigada en algunas zonas de España, aunque en Latinoamérica, debido a la misma influencia española, es conocida en muchos países, algunos más que otros, si bien no alcanza el mismo nivel de tradición que en España, al menos no en mi país.

Que esta película no haya sido nominada a Mejor Película en los Premios Goya me parece un crimen. Solo recibió una nominación a Mejor Actor de Reparto. Y para mí, esta película es superior a un par de las que sí estuvieron en las categorías principales. La historia se centra en un pueblo gallego donde, hace dos años, ocurrió una tragedia: siete personas murieron en un accidente náutico, entre ellas el capitán de la rondalla del pueblo (un grupo de música folclórica tradicional española). Solo dos sobrevivieron. La investigación continúa mientras intentan encontrar los restos de la embarcación.

Luis, uno de los supervivientes y mejor amigo del capitán fallecido, decide que es hora de reformar la rondalla para el próximo concurso. Si ganan, podrán compartir el premio con las familias de las víctimas. Por supuesto, aquí es donde comienzan los conflictos: recuperar todo: la fe, la esperanza y las ganas de vivir. Sobre todo porque ya sale con la esposa del capitán, que tiene dos hijas. La mayor, llamada Andrea, se muestra inicialmente reacia a volver a tocar en la rondalla.

La película explora el duelo colectivo y cómo, al hacer algo de lo que los fallecidos se sentirían orgullosos, pueden superar ese luto. De igual modo, la madre de Andrea tiene derecho a reconstruir su vida. Aunque todos se ven afectados y la tristeza impregna el ambiente, reactivar la rondalla sirve como catarsis para el dolor.

Todo esto se aborda con buen humor, con personajes entrañables, imperfectos como todos, pero de gran corazón. Es el tipo de comedia que garantiza el éxito, y creo que la película ha gustado a la mayoría. Si a mí me gustó, y desconozco por completo la cultura y las canciones folclóricas gallegas, imagino que a los gallegos les debe gustar aún más.

Hay historias que, por muy locales o indígenas que parezcan, tienen un mensaje universal. Tragedia, amor, sacrificio: todo eso es universal, y cuando se cuenta una buena historia con personajes encantadores, se obtienen productos como este. Películas que merecen una mayor distribución y ser vistas por más público.

Búscala; no te arrepentirás. Es una película preciosa.

At times, while watching the film, I would stop to wonder where the story was taking me. Despite this uncertainty, I was completely absorbed by the images of this film by Argentine filmmaker Laura Casabé. This film is rather unusual due to its blend of genres. On the one hand, it falls within the genre of female transition to adulthood, but with touches of fantasy and horror that lend it a disquieting feeling throughout much of its runtime.

I believe the story already contains these elements from the original work, a short story that is part of one of the books by the writer Mariana Enríquez, belonging to the new wave of Argentine women writers. I am unfamiliar with both the original work and the rest of this author's books, and as for the director, this is the first film of hers that I have seen.

The first thing I want to highlight is that the story is set in the early 2000s, when Argentina was going through one of its worst economic and political crises. I found some of the scenes with frequent power outages in the protagonist's neighborhood quite funny, because they're similar to what I've experienced in my country over the last decade. A total disaster, and needless to say, those responsible for plunging our countries into this chaos are to blame.

Amidst all this chaos, the story focuses on the life of Natalia, a teenager who lives with her grandmother on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. Her grandmother believes in witchcraft and all that stuff about spells, lucky charms, and so on. Natalia has two inseparable friends, Mariela and Josefina. The three of them are in that stage of adolescence where they discover their bodies and desires. That typical sexual awakening of youth, which isn't exclusive to men. Women also feel the urge to have sex, as is the case with these three girls who are crazy about the handsome Diego making love to them.

Everything gets complicated when Diego meets his friend Silvia, an older woman with years of experience, a free spirit, a bit of a hippie, and quite a bit of sexual experience, with whom he starts dating. This is the main conflict. Natalia and her friends are jealous of this woman who wants to steal the object of their most ardent desires. In the midst of all this conflict, witchcraft appears, the fantastical element that practically leads to the horror genre towards the end.

The inherent evil in all of us tends to manifest itself with greater cruelty in young people. In adolescence, we can be impulsive, capricious, and selfish. So forget about likable characters; not even Natalia manages to win the viewer's affection, not even with a few good deeds.

The film's pace is slow, but the director manages to imbue it with a tension and a disturbing atmosphere that keep us attentive to the story and eager to see how it ends. The quarry where Silvia takes them to hang out and have fun will play an important role in the story's outcome.

I thought it was a good Argentine film, interesting, with mostly convincing performances, especially from the female cast. Even if we think our children are saints incapable of hurting anyone, we'll never truly know them.

En ocasiones, mientras veía la película, me detenía a preguntarme adónde me llevaba la historia. A pesar de esa duda, estaba completamente absorto en las imágenes de esta película de la cineasta argentina Laura Casabé. Porque esta película es un tanto extraña por su mezcla de géneros. Por un lado, se enmarca dentro del género de la transición a la adultez femenina, pero con toques de fantasía y terror que le dan una sensación inquietante a lo largo de gran parte del metraje.

Creo que la historia ya contiene esos elementos de la obra original, un cuento que forma parte de uno de los libros de la escritora Mariana Enríquez, perteneciente a la nueva ola de escritoras argentinas. Desconozco tanto la obra original como el resto de los libros de esta autora, y en cuanto a la directora, esta es la primera película suya que veo.

Lo primero que quiero destacar es que la historia se sitúa a principios de la década de 2000, cuando Argentina atravesaba una de sus peores crisis económicas y políticas. Me parecieron bastante graciosas algunas escenas con frecuentes apagones en el barrio de la protagonista, porque se parecen a lo que he vivido en mi país durante la última década. Un desastre total, y ni que decir tiene que los desgraciados responsables de hundir a nuestros países en este caos son los culpables.

En medio de todo este caos, la historia se centra en la vida de Natalia, una adolescente que vive con su abuela en las afueras de Buenos Aires. Su abuela cree en la brujería y en todo eso de hechizos, amuletos de la suerte, etc. Natalia tiene dos amigas inseparables, Mariela y Josefina. Las tres están en esa etapa de la juventud en la que descubren sus cuerpos y deseos. Ese despertar sexual típico de la juventud, que no es exclusivo de los hombres. Las mujeres también sienten el impulso de tener sexo, como les ocurre a estas tres chicas que están locas por el guapo Diego haciéndoles el amor.

Todo se complica cuando Diego conoce a su amiga Silvia, una mujer mayor con años de experiencia, espíritu libre, un tanto hippie y con bastante experiencia sexual, con quien empieza a salir. Este es el conflicto principal. Natalia y sus amigas están celosas de esta mujer que quiere arrebatarles el objeto de sus más ardientes deseos. En medio de todo este conflicto, aparece la brujería, el elemento fantástico que prácticamente desemboca en el género de terror hacia el final.

La maldad inherente a todos nosotros suele manifestarse con mayor crueldad en los jóvenes. En la adolescencia, podemos ser impulsivos, caprichosos y egoístas. Así que olvídese de personajes agradables; ni siquiera Natalia logra ganarse el afecto del espectador, ni siquiera con unas pocas buenas acciones.

El ritmo de la película es lento, pero el director consigue dotarlo de una tensión y una atmósfera inquietante que nos mantienen atentos a la historia y ansiosos por ver cómo termina. La cantera donde Silvia los lleva a pasar el rato y divertirse tendrá un papel importante en el desenlace de la historia.

Me pareció una buena película argentina, interesante, con actuaciones en su mayoría convincentes, especialmente las del elenco femenino. Aunque creamos que nuestros hijos son unos santos incapaces de hacerle daño a nadie, nunca los conoceremos del todo.
