‎Thor: Love and Thunder a Marvel movie that brings Thor back with a different kind of story. The story is very interesting, and so is the action. It connects Thor’s past life with what he’s going through. ‎ ‎After the adventures of Endgame, Thor was travelling with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Meanwhile, someone very dangerous called Gorr had lost his daughter. He had depended on the other gods, but they didn’t help him. Instead, they disappointed and betrayed him, and his daughter died. This made Gorr more dangerous and determined to kill the gods because of what they had done to him. ‎

‎An amazing part of the story was how Jane Foster returned as Mighty Thor. Jane suddenly became worthy of Mjolnir and gained the same kind of power as Thor. Thor wasn’t expecting to see his old hammer in someone else’s hands, and he was amazed. Her fighting scenes were so impressive, and she showed great ability in using the war hammer. ‎

‎Thor discovered that Jane was very sick. But what was interesting about Jane was that she was still interested in helping other people. At that point, Gorr took several children away. Thor, Jane, Valkyrie, and Korg had to go and rescue them. ‎There were a lot of interesting fights. The way everyone used their abilities made the fighting scenes great. ‎ ‎The final fight was so interesting, especially when Jane took the risk of fighting even though she knew she wasn’t going to make it. She sacrificed herself just to save other people. ‎

‎To some extent, I just wish Jane hadn’t died because she was able to use the old hammer so skillfully, especially in the final fight. But that’s all right; she did it to save the children, and that is the passion of a hero. ‎

King Kong was a hit back in the day, if you did not watch it then, you should watch it now because it still hits as intensely as it did back then. It is a movie that talks about the jungle in a different light. It showed that sometimes the true monsters are not mindless animals, and animals might not be as mindless as some think they are.

It showed us that sometimes the real monsters are the selfish humans, and they are the ones who even make the jungle unsafe. It is one movie that showed that love and friendship can come in the most unexpected ways, and sometimes animals are way more trustworthy companions than our fellow humans.

The movie is about a group of filmmakers who travel to a mysterious place called Skull Island in search of something extraordinary. When they arrive, they discover Kong, a huge gorilla who rules and protects the island. Kong develops a special bond with Ann Darrow, but things take a heartbreaking turn when the filmmakers capture him and bring him back to New York to make money by showing him to the public. What starts as an adventure eventually becomes a story about love, greed, and the consequences of taking a wild creature away from its home.

The movie started with a group of actors who followed a film maker to a remote island in search of the perfect movie. Well they ended up acting the perfect movie for us, but really ended up with an adventure of chaos. When they arrived on the island they encountered a hostile native tribe who captured Ann and offered her to Kong who was like a god to the villagers. Kong was a very big gorilla with a great level of intelligence, and when Ann thought she was going to die in the hands of the mighty gorilla, they ended up forming a bond that made the gorilla over protective of her. She realized that Kong is not just a mindless animal as she assumed and from there they formed an emotional bond that made him do everything in his power to protect her.

After Kong had risked his life protecting Ann, Carl sees Kong as just what he needs to make money and captures him in a state of weakness, takes him to New York to start performing and presents him as the Eight wonder of the world. But unfortunately all hell breaks loose when Kong finally sees Ann during a stage performance and decides to break free. But then tragedy strikes when Carl did everything to bring him back and made the movie end in a tragedy. I remember crying about it as a child. Well I guess the real monster wasn’t Kong at the end of the day, but those trying so much to use him for their own benefit.

Me recuerda que las películas de Depredator tengo en mi mente escenas inconclusas que no había terminado de ver toda la película, pero esta en específico fue la tercera que vi completa. Ahora comprendo más al Depredator: la historia, ellos cazan por disfrutar; también les gusta que cuando cazan, al hacerlo, sea todo un reto. También en la historia se ve cómo coleccionan cráneos de sus rivales, les gusta estudiarlos, aprender de ellos. Que sea toda una cacería.

La protagonista de la historia se llama Naru. Es una mujer que quiere ser cazadora, quiere hacer algo diferente en su tribu, dedicarse a algo que en esa época solo los hombres hacían. Pero a la chica la vamos a ver cómo se va a enfrentar con desafíos para que su voz sea tomada en cuenta ante las demás personas de la tribu. Lo que no me gustó

Bueno, aquí vamos a hacer un análisis diferente. Lo que no me gustó fue que, bueno, usen animales; digamos, pues, en ocasiones muestra imágenes fuertes, también para los que no están acostumbrados a ver este tipo de película con escenas muy fuertes.

También que, para llegar a entender la historia, como que hay mucha narración. Si esperas que esta película sea como los otros Depredatores, que empiezan de lleno a la acción, pues tienes que saber que vas a comprender la historia primero.

Bueno, no me gustó la cara del Depredator, jaja, pero bueno, creo que todas las películas son así, pero creo que es parte de la película. Me hubiera gustado también que hubieran más Depredatores, que hubiera más. Aquí se ve cómo ponen en peligro a una aldea, pero solo es un Depredator. Imagínense si hubieran llegado más de cinco, jeje, ¡qué lío con la aldea!

Me hubiera gustado que Naru tuviera un gran compañero o tal vez otro protagonista de la talla como ella, que también enfrentara dificultades y creciera en habilidades con la película, pero bueno, lo que rescato es que su compañero fue el perrito, je.

Tal vez, si has visto los Depredatores anteriores, analices desde el comienzo cómo iba a terminar la película, pero bueno, para mí fue, creo, la segunda de Depredator que miré. Luego, próximamente, les traigo la otra que vi.

What I didn't like

Well, here we are going to do a different analysis. What I didn't like was that, well, they use animals; let's say, well, at times it shows strong images, also for those who aren't used to seeing this type of movie with very graphic scenes.

Also, to get to understand the story, it feels like there is a lot of narration. If you expect this movie to be like the other Predators, starting right into the action, you have to know that you will understand the story first.

Well, I didn't like the Predator's face, haha, but well, I think all the movies are like that, though I guess it's part of the film. I would have also liked there to be more Predators, for there to be more. Here you see how they put a village in danger, but it's only one Predator. Imagine if more than five had arrived, hehe, what a mess for the village!

I would have liked Naru to have a great companion or perhaps another protagonist of her stature who also faced difficulties and grew in skills throughout the movie, but well, what I rescue is that her companion was the dog, heh.

Maybe if you've seen the previous Predators, you'll analyze from the beginning how the movie was going to end, but well, for me, I think it was the second Predator movie I've watched. Soon, I'll bring you the other one I watched.

Mad Max is one of the movies that has 90% action in it. It was written and directed by George Miller, and I consider this movie a masterclass in modern action cinema.

Max, haunted by the ghosts of those he failed to save, was captured by War Boys, the zealous armies of a tyrannical warlord, Joe. Max is then used as a blood bag for a sickly War Boy named Nux. The story kicks off when Furiosa, one of Joe's top lieutenants, goes rogue during an armor supply run in the heavily fortified war rig. Her intention was to smuggle Joe's five wives, who were his prized breeders, and travel through the desert to the Green Place, where she grew up. The wives displayed courage as they adapted to the harsh reality of the wasteland.

The performances in this movie were iconic: Joe as a formidable antagonist, Nux bringing energy, innocence, and endearing charm to his character, Furiosa bringing intense physical presence, and Max conveying trauma, humor, and heroism through his body language and expressive eyes.

The movie has exceptional practical effects with real stunts, customized vehicles, and real explosions. The movie also features sensational sound and music, driving the energy and rhythm of the battle, and finally, it has subtle world-building.

However, the movie falls short in these areas: The plot is simple,just a two-way chase across a desert, viewers who love heavy dialogue may not find it interesting. Additionally, with the continuous noise and explosions, some may find it tiring.

Mad Max: Fury Road stands out because it treats action as pure cinema. Instead of using action to break up dialogue, it uses action as dialogue. It is a rare blockbuster that balances practical stuntwork with a progressive narrative about hope, human dignity, and survival.

So, today we're diving into the second and last part of Agesinkole, the notorious thief. Here in this second part, the kingdom of Ajeromi now has a new king, a corrupt one at that, who's doing all his best to steal the resources of the kingdom together with his chiefs. And because they've done stuff to keep Agesinkole away, spiritual stuff, Agesinkole could not come back or be around to punish all of these corrupt sets of people.

But then again, out of their greediness, they themselves meddled and tampered with these spiritual forces they kept in place to keep Agesinkole away, and when they've messed with it, they faced the music. Agesinkole returns, not as a savior this time but as a judge, confronting the evil, wickedness, and corruption that have taken over Ajeromi land.

This story is a very deep one, especially considering how it is to some extent different from the first part. Agesinkole was everywhere in the first part, but here he wasn't. Remember I said the powerful and influential people of Ajeromi had done spiritual things to keep him away. But then again, it backfired when they thought they had total control, and this time around, he came to restore justice.

I also love how the movie mixes betrayal, place politics, spiritual powers, mythology, betrayals, and a lot together. And I also had great expectations of this movie, even though I later found out I enjoyed the first part more. But this second part is a banger too.

Kudos to Femi Adebayo once again on this great movie. I love his actions and the way he carries himself. Merely looking at him, you can't help but be scared; even the way he looks at people, you won't want to dare maintaining a straight gaze with him.

Now, the costume and production, they did excellently well too. This particular movie made me proud of what Nollywood's actors are doing. They aren't settling for less anymore, each trying their best to top up their game. If you see the movie, you can't help but wonder how they were able to get such an ancestral or aged Yoruba setting. It's obvious they put so much effort into making and building such a world that looks so aged, even in this age.

But then again, I said earlier that I still enjoyed the first part better. And that is because the first part is just so straightforward, things were more stronger there and all, but here in this second part, it seems like the storyline is being divided, thereby taking ones attention away from the main conflict. Like, I understand that they just want a bit of suspense, but then... It is what it is.

Also, when Agesinkole returned, knowing the kind of person that he was, he expected so much from him, but then he just came, did this and that, and everything calmed... Too quickly for my liking. Like, the ending is just too calm and quick for my liking. Considering the energy and all that's been coming right from the first part, to know end a movie just like this... Common. The climax deserves to be bigger than that.

This is not to disappoint you from giving the movie a watch. It is a great one.

During my break, I got to watch some comedy movies from South Korea. Life is already bleak and so is my work, what was missing was a little comedy that turns out, to be not-so-a-comedy. You can classify The First Ride as a tragic comedy but for the first time after many months, a movie I genuinely enjoyed watching.

When it comes to South Korean movies, I don't think you should expect good acting but what you can expect is a good storyline and character development.

The movie takes us to follow the journey of 4 bestfriends, Tae-jung, Do-jin, Yeon-min, and Geum-bok. Since Tae-jun, received perfect score during the anticipated college entrance exam, he wanted some gifts from his parents. These 4 friends, decided they wanted to visit Thailand and travel there before Yeon-min moves abroad. So, the parents granted their wish and soon, we were seen the scene when they travel inside a bus. Somehow that scene was muddled and scrambled a bit.

They didn't make it to Thailand because from that at first, we saw that the bus left them at the stop. Then, as an adult, they got busy and Do-jin, one of the 4 boys was receiving treatment. Now, because the film producer made us believe that Yeon Min was already moving to New Zealand, so we thought that he was no longer in the picture as the audience. Then, the boys carried a doll looking like Young min and carried them during their adult trip to Thailand.

Long story short, it was a roller coaster ride and we'll find out the truth later. I'll let you find out because you either probably see it coming or you don't.

Some movies will make you laugh totally, and some that makes you laugh at first suddenly make you uncomfortable because you eventually realize it's touching some part of you or someone close that you never really noticed before and Oversabi Aunty is one of those movies for me.

The Nigerian box office movie directed and starring Toyin Abraham, introduces us to Toun, a church usher whose passion for correcting everybody else's behaviour has almost become a full-time job. She is quick to notice what is wrong with other people's children, relationships and their choices, but she somehow struggle to notice what is happening inside her own home and that is where the movie becomes more than just comedy.

Toun is married to Chidi, played by Mike Ezuruonye, and together they have four children. While Toun is busy presenting herself as the moral corrector in her community, her own children are quietly dealing with emotional neglect, confusion and problems that she failed to properly see.

Her eldest daughter, Seyi, played by Efe Irele is preparing for her wedding introduction, and what was supposed be a beautiful celebration gradually became the stage where many of the family's hidden problems begin to surface. This is where I started seeing the real message behind the title.

Being “oversabi” isn't simply about being someone who talks too much or interferes in other people's business alone. Sometimes, it is about using other people's problems to avoid confronting your own.

Toun knows everybody's business but she doesn't know her own children and the irony becomes painful when the same behaviours she condemns in other people's children begin appearing in her own household.

Chuka, Toun's son played by Enioluwa Adeoluwa, is particularly important to this part of the story. His anger and emotional struggles aren't simply random bad behaviour. They are connected to a child who has spent too much time feeling unseen and unheard. This was one of the parts of the movie that stayed with me because children don't always become what parents teach them but sometimes, they become what parents repeatedly show them. Even Seyi begins reflecting some of the behaviours she dislikes in her mother, which shows how easily children can absorb what they grow up around.

Then the wedding chaos started. The Yoruba and Igbo sides of the family, church expectations, parental rivalry and cultural differences all collide, creating some of the funniest but also most uncomfortable moments in the movie. Eventually, Toun is forced to confront the consequences of being so busy correcting everybody else while she neglected the people closest to her.

Although Toyin Abraham's performance is deliberately exaggerated, but that actually works for the character. Toun is annoying, funny, frustrating and, eventually, a surprisingly human.

Mike Ezuruonye also deserves credit for bringing some balance to the chaos. His portrayal of Chidi feels like that husband who has spent years trying to manage a situation without completely losing his patience but for me, the strongest part of Oversabi Aunty isn't the comedy but the uncomfortable question underneath it that "what if the person who is always correcting everyone else is actually avoiding something within themselves?"

The movie isn't a perfect one. Some scenes were unnecessarily long, some dialogue became repetitive, and certain subplots could have been removed without affecting the main story like the car stop scene but despite those flaws, I think the movie succeeds in doing something important which is making us laugh at a familiar Nigerian character before quietly asking us to examine ourselves.

Do you know the concept of "The Purge"? For those unfamiliar with the movies, it basically depicts a society where, for one night a year, all manner of crimes are permitted—12 hours where you can do whatever you please without facing legal consequences. Well, the film I’m talking about today is essentially the same thing, except that instead of focusing on crime and killing, it centers on a night of total debauchery. While the concept isn't new to me, the specific context makes it feel very different and unique. Don't be misled: this isn't an explicit or adult-oriented film; it’s a classic romantic comedy—the kind I don't usually watch, though one every now and then doesn't hurt.

Cuando hablo de la purga, si conocen el concepto? - para los que no están familiarizados con estas películas básicamente es una sociedad en donde por una noche al año está permitido toda clase de delitos, 12 horas en las que puedes hacer lo que te de la gana y nada te va a pasar, legalmente hablando. Pues este film del que les vengo hablar hoy es prácticamente es lo mismo solo que en vez de enfocarse en delitos y matar gente se centra en una noche de libertinaje total. Como concepto ya es algo que he visto pero con este contexto todo es muy diferente y particular. No se engañen, esto no es una película subida de tono ni para adultos, es la típica comedia romántica, de esas que no veo mucho pero que una de vez en cuando no hace daño.

We are in the United States, but subject to a rule—or rather, a law—that prohibits premarital sex. This means that single people cannot have sexual relations with anyone for 364 days of the year. You might wonder how this is monitored, given that it seems impossible on the surface. Each person carries a nanochip that tracks bodily functions; if readings deviate from the norm, you get caught. But that isn't the main point. The story centers on Allie (Mónica Barbaro) and Owen (Callum Turner): she is a woman who believes in romantic, meaningful love, while he has just been asked by his girlfriend to sleep with another woman—because she wants to do the same with another man (for that night only). Keep in mind, they have a 12-hour window to be with someone. As it happens, these two cross paths in the city, sparking an odyssey as they try to find what everyone is looking for.

Estamos en Estados Unidos pero bajo una regla o más bien una ley: el sexo prematrimonial está prohibido. Esto quiere decir que las personas solteras no pueden tener relaciones sexuales con nadie en 364 días de año. Ustedes se preguntarán, como controlan eso? - porque a priori es algo imposible. Cada persona tiene un nanochip que lee las funciones corporales, al salirse de lo normal pues te pillan. Pero ese no es tanto el asunto. Los protagonistas son Allie (Mónica Barbaro) y Owen (Callum Turner), la primera es una mujer de esas que cree en el amor romántico y con sentido; a él la novia le acaba de pedir que vaya a estar con otra mujer porque ella quiere hacer lo mismo con otro hombre (solo por esa noche). Les recuerdo que tienen 12 horas para poder estar con alguien. El tema es que por casualidades de la vida estas dos personas se encuentran en la ciudad y a partir de ahí comienza una odisea para lograr lo que todos están buscando.

As incredible as it may seem, it all starts with the search for a condom—which, for obvious reasons, have sold out across the city. This kicks off a chaotic race filled with mishaps, random moments, and encounters that ultimately lead nowhere, since nothing seems to go right for them. The premise is that the two were attracted to each other from the start but refused to entertain the possibility; yet, given the series of events they experience over the course of the night, it seems that if destiny truly wants them together, it will happen. As I mentioned, I’m not usually the type to watch movies like this—probably because I’m a bit cynical and assume I won’t like them—but the truth is, the film is actually pretty cool and fun. Once you grasp the concept of that specific night, you know what to expect: total chaos centered on sex, with everyone hooking up with everyone else and trying—in the craziest ways possible—to find a partner, even if just for the night.

Por más increíble que parezca todo inicia con la busqueda de un preservativo los cuales por razones obvias se agotaron en la ciudad lo que da pie a una carrera llena de tropiezos, momentos random y personas en el camino que no terminan en nada porque al final nada les sale bien. La premisa es que los dos desde un principio se gustaron pero se negaron a la posibilidad y si a eso se le suma la cantidad de cosas que terminan viviendo en medio de la noche pues pareciera que si de verdad el destino los quiere juntos así será. Como ya les dije no soy persona de ver este tipo de películas, creo que porque soy un poco cínico y me digo que no me van a gustar, pero la verdad es que el film es bastante cool y divertido. Al tener un poco claro el concepto de esa noche en particular ya uno sabe que esperar, un caos total centrado en el sexo, todo el mundo estando con todo el mundo y buscando, de las maneras más locas, emparejarse así sea por esa noche.

But of course, Allie and Owen aren't really like that. Well, actually they are, but they strongly resist the idea of ​​spending the whole night acting like degenerates. For them, being with someone has to mean something—it’s about a connection that doesn't quite fit the wild, chaotic nature of that night. That attitude leads them into some pretty funny and unusual situations, which is what makes the movie so entertaining to watch. As for why such a law exists, the goal is to prevent teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, and to promote the importance of the family unit. Obviously, no one agrees with the law, but it is what it is. The comedy is straightforward—it doesn't rely on dark humor to work; instead, the laughs come from the interactions, the characters, and the absurd situations that unfold. Honestly, the movie feels very wholesome and fresh.

Pero claro, Allie y Owen no son tan así. O bueno si pero se niegan mucho a la idea de ser unos depravados toda la noche. Para ellos el estar con alguien tiene que significar algo y todo un tema de conexiones que no aplica mucho a los que es la locura de esa noche. Esa actitud los lleva a vivir cosas bien graciosas y poco comunes que es lo que hace que la película sea super entretenida de ver. Para los que tengan dudas del porque habría una ley así es porque quieren evitar el embarazo en adolescentes, enfermedades de transmisión sexual y potenciar la figura de la familia. Obviamente nadie está de acuerdo con esa ley pero es lo que hay. La comedia es muy básica en el sentido que no necesita ser negra para que funcione, se da gracias las interacciones, los personajes y las situaciones sin sentido que terminan pasando, es muy sana y fresca la película la verdad.

I’m of the opinion that for this kind of film, there has to be chemistry between the two actors, and Mónica and Callum certainly have it. I’ve seen some of her other work and she’s a very good actress—she’s even been nominated for an Oscar. All I know about him is that he’s Dua Lipa’s husband, but he did a good job too; then again, these types of movies don't exactly require a massive acting range. You’ll also see appearances by people like Maya Hawke, LeVar Burton, Julia Fox, and so on. So, we’ve got comedy and the romantic element—because, naturally, the story heads in that direction toward the end. Speaking of the ending, it’s exactly what you’d expect; I don’t think anything else would have made much sense after a night like that. Well, maybe it could have worked, but it would have been a pretty risky move. I highly recommend it; even though it’s not the sort of thing I usually watch, I really enjoyed it. It runs for a little over an hour and a half. I’m leaving the trailer here so you can see what it’s all about.

Para hacer este tipo de films soy de los que piensa que tiene que haber química entre los dos actores y Mónica y Callum la tienen. He varias cosas de ella y es muy buena actriz, nominada a los Oscar y todo. De él lo unico que se es que es el esposo de Dua Lipa pero también hizo un buen trabajo, en este tipo de películas tampoco se necesita un alto rango actoral. Por ahí salen personas como Maya Hawke, LeVar Burton, Julia Fox, etc. A ver, tenemos comedia, tenemos la parte romántica porque claro, hacia el final la historia se va por ahí la cosa; hablando de su final decir que es lo esperado, todo lo que hubiese sido diferente creo que no hubiera mucho sentido después de haber semejante noche. O bueno quizás si pero hubiese sido bastante arriesgado. Muy recomendada, para no ser lo que acostumbro a ver la pasé muy bien viéndola, se disfruta mucho verla. Dura un poco más de hora y media.
