Personally I'll say this anime is a personal journey into courage, grief, and the power of family.
Let me start from the beginning. I wasn’t really in the mood for swords, demons, or anime fights but trust me I've been hearing about “Demon Slayer” well, I liked the name and how it sounds. You know, that intense and scary 🤪 feeling but trust me it was something I was willing to watch.
One evening, when I opened Netflix, and the trailer played automatically, I was like omg 😱.
The moment I saw the boy with the gentle eyes carrying his sister on his back through the snow bleeding, broken, but still holding on, I paused. Something about that scene struck me. It was the pain and love in that one silent frame. That was all it took.
I was so eager that I clicked "play"…
Demon Slayer is a story about a kind-hearted boy, Tanjiro Kamado, who sells charcoal in Taisho-era Japan. He comes home one day and finds a nightmare; all his family is killed by demons. The sole survivor? His sister Nezuko who is now also a demon.
However, here is the twist to it: Nezuko does not lose her humanity. She defends her brother even when she is a demon. and after that Tanjiro takes it as his duty not only to kill demons but to cure Nezuko.
In order to accomplish this, he enrolls into a secret organization called the Demon Slayer Corps that trains warriors to kill demons. On the way, he encounters memorable allies such as Zenitsu (the coward that has lightning-speed abilities) and Inosuke (a wild fighter that has the head of a boar and the heart of a lion).
However, this is not the story of simply going out and killing monsters. It is about the meaning of being a human being in the world where you can be converted into something.
I was hooked right in the first episode. The pictures were beautiful-the gentle snow, the dancing fire, the strange shadows of the wood. It was like a painting that was being brought to life.
However, the hook was the heart of Tanjiro. He is not the strongest, the fastest or the flashiest one. Yet he is the most kind. In a world where kindness is mostly viewed as weakness, Demon Slayer turns out to be the ultimate weapon.
In one instance, Tanjiro kills a demon, and he does not celebrate it, but he holds its hand until it dies. That scene… I was stung with tears. Not only was he killing demons but he was liberating souls.
This anime is a hard one that strikes you with real emotions: grief, guilt, pain, hope, and love.
I even cried at unpredictable scenes not only when someone died but at the most silent scenes. As in the case when Tanjiro dreams of his family. Or when Nezuko, though a demon, tenderly rubs her brother in the head. Or when Zenitsu finally takes a stand and battles--even though he is scared to death.
The producers did not only want to amuse us. They desired to be united. They did.
Each demon has an origin. Many of them used to be people; lost, broken, sad. The scenes of Tanjiro seeing the suffering in the eyes of the monster when he sees past their monster forms are among the most heartwarming.
It was a reminder of my own world where it seemed that people who are the cause of pain and suffering are the ones who suffer most. It does not justify their acts- but it makes them human. And that is powerful.
No need to overlook the action, it is stunning.
Each battle is a ball. The breathing patterns, the shapes of the swords, the fiery, aquatic, and electric colors, it is such poetry in motion.
However, the special thing about the battles is not only the way they appear but what they signify. Each cut of the knife is supported by some desperation, love, and a mission. Tanjiro does not fight to get glory. He battles it out over family. And that makes war very personal.
The Mugen Train arc was one of my favorite arcs that made me shed some tears. The struggle, the suffering, the sacrifice.... I was breathing with difficulty, my fists were clenched, my heart was beating violently. And when it was over I sat quiet, stunned.

That Tanjiro’s greatest strength isn’t his sword—it’s his compassion. He teaches us that it’s possible to be both soft and strong. And that feeling deeply is not a weakness—it’s what makes us human.
That family is everything. The bond between Tanjiro and Nezuko is the heart of this story. Even when the world turns cruel, their love endures. Their relationship reminded me to hold my loved ones closer, to protect what truly matters.
I discovered one thing: Demon Slayer is not only killing demons. It is a matter of killing the darkness of ourselves, breath by breath.

Después de ocho años, tuvo estreno la secuela de "The Accountant", película de acción protagonizada por Ben Affleck la cual relató la historia de "Christian", un hombre autista con grandes habilidades para los cálculos matemáticos y así como otros por ejemplo el combate mano a mano y el uso de diferentes armamentos; ese primer film fue una gran introducción del protagonista profundizando en su origen y los motivos de sus actos; una historia que rasgó elementos dramáticos por la condición del personaje principal, pero lo más relevante fue las excelentes escenas de acción y aunque ofreció los elementos para una potencial secuela, al pasar el tiempo pensé que tan o no necesaria debería ser, pero tanto Affleck como demás personas involucradas, decidieron dar un mejor desarrollo a todo el mundo que genera The Accountant, no solamente estrenando una segunda parte, sino desarrollando un tercer film.
After eight years, the sequel to "The Accountant" premiered, an action film starring Ben Affleck that told the story of Christian, an autistic man with great mathematical skills, as well as other abilities such as hand-to-hand combat and the use of different weapons. That first film was a great introduction to the protagonist, delving into his origins and the motives behind his actions. A story that drew dramatic elements from the main character's condition, but what stood out most were the excellent action scenes. Although it offered the elements for a potential sequel, as time passed, I wondered how necessary it would be. However, both Affleck and the other people involved decided to further develop the world of The Accountant, not only by releasing a second part, but also by developing a third film.
Nuevamente, tanto Gavin O'Connor y Bill Dubuque regresan respectivamente como director y guionista; en esta oportunidad ambos se toman la libertad de relatar una historia muy diferente a como fue la primera película en dónde la vida de su protagonista o el desarrollo de su presente es el tema más importante, esto lo digo por la relevancia de que entre ambas historia han pasado ocho años y los cambios entre el personaje principal y los secundarios es evidente, eso me gustó porque es (como dije anteriormente) una manera muy diferente de enfocar esta nueva fase de la franquicia que no renuncia al género de la acción, pero si abarca más los temas de relación familiar la cual es perfecta para generar drama y comedia.
Las decisiones de no hacer repetitiva con respecto a que en cada momento realizar una secuencia de acción, me pareció perfecto para como está desarrolla esta historia, de igual manera O'connor da protagonismos a varios personajes en las escenas de acción, eso me gustó porque ofrece relevancia a los personajes secundarios; esas secuencias dependiendo del personaje que las lidera, genera cierta tensión, pero repito, también ofrece actitud y protagonismo a esos personajes. Existe un aspecto importante para esta película la cual es no enseñar a los protagonistas sus capacidades en combate, creo que la necesidad de recuperar la relación entre todos era lo más relevante y en eso se abarcó toda la historia y lo que llevo al necesario "Showdown" para así cerrar y complacer a los fans de estos personajes.
Once again, both Gavin O'Connor and Bill Dubuque return as director and screenwriter, respectively. This time around, they take the liberty of telling a story that is very different from the first film, where the protagonist's life and the development of his present are the most important themes. I say this because it is relevant that eight years have passed between the two stories, and the changes between the main character and the secondary characters are evident. I liked that because it is (as I said before) a very different way of approaching this new phase of the franchise, which does not renounce the action genre but does cover more family relationship issues, which is perfect for generating drama and comedy.
The decision not to be repetitive in terms of having an action sequence at every moment seemed perfect to me for how this story unfolds. Similarly, O'Connor gives prominence to several characters in the action scenes, which I liked because it gives relevance to the secondary characters. Depending on the character who leads them, these sequences generate a certain tension, but I repeat, they also give attitude and prominence to those characters. There is an important aspect to this film, which is not showing the protagonists' combat abilities. I think the need to restore the relationship between everyone was the most relevant thing, and that encompassed the whole story and led to the necessary "showdown" to close it and please the fans of these characters.
Esta película trata temas de soledad y posiblemente lo que genera el paso del tiempo, ambos temas pueden afectar a cualquier persona sin importar la condición en dónde también pueden tener todo, pero siempre hace falta algo más y en esta historia en dónde dos hermanos fueron abandonados por su madre y que su padre usó lo que único que sabía para crear un vínculo con ellos; estos temas tratan de ser desarrollados aún más en esta oportunidad aunque por los momentos, el motivo principal de esta segunda parte (por supuesto) es lo más relevante, pero las bases de la unión o la relación entre ambos hermanos siempre está presente; esto me hace pensar que la elección para dar vida a "Christian" y "Braxton" con los actores Ben Affleck y Jon Bernthal, es excelente, ambos tienen muy buena química juntos, se complementan muy bien en cualquier tipo de escena, por ejemplo Ben puede ser calmado, frío, inexpresivo y directo, en cambio, Jon es pasional, ruidoso, muy expresivo, pero también muy directo, en mi opinión son perfectos y espero pronto verlos juntos en la tercera película de esta franquicia.
This film deals with themes of loneliness and possibly what the passage of time brings about. Both themes can affect anyone, regardless of their circumstances, even if they have everything, but there is always something missing. In this story, two brothers were abandoned by their mother, and their father used the only thing he knew how to do to create a bond with them. These themes are further developed in this film, although for the moment, the main theme of this second part (of course) is the most relevant, but the foundation of the bond or relationship between the two brothers is always present. This makes me think that the choice to bring "Christian" and "Braxton" to life with actors Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal is excellent. They have great chemistry together and complement each other very well in any type of scene. For example, Ben can be calm, cold, expressionless, and direct, while Jon is passionate, loud, very expressive, but also very direct. In my opinion, they are perfect, and I hope to see them together soon in the third film of this franchise.
The Accountant 2 me sorprendió para bien, es una película muy diferente desde el momento de su inicio, más que nada en dónde volvemos a ver al protagonista de esta historia porque de manera inmediata nos ofrece cuáles son las necesidades de un personaje que anteriormente su zona de confort es perfecta y que ahora tenga cierta necesidad de cambiar es algo bastante inesperado, eso me hizo pensar en lo arriesgado de esta historia que repito, usa mucho la comedia con respecto a la relación de hermanos y hasta me hizo recordar al film de los 80' protagonizado por Schwarzenegger y De Vito, me refiero a "Twins"; creo que ese tipo de comedia está presente así como la relación de dos hermanos que tienen la necesidad de recuperar su relación familiar, eso me pareció perfecto así como la introducción de nuevos personajes que espero sigan teniendo protagonismo en un futuro por el potencial que tienen; para finalizar, está secuela es muy buena, es un excelente complemento y mejor aún, es un paso firme para seguir desarrollando la historia de sus personajes y lo mejor será que no habrá que esperar ocho más para ver lo que posiblemente sea el cierre de esta franquicia.
The Accountant 2 surprised me in a good way. It's a very different film from the moment it starts, mainly because we see the protagonist of this story again and immediately learn about the needs of a character who previously had a perfect comfort zone and now has a certain need to change, which is quite unexpected. That made me think about how risky this story is. I repeat, uses a lot of comedy in relation to the relationship between brothers and even reminded me of the 1980s film starring Schwarzenegger and De Vito, Twins. I think that type of comedy is present, as is the relationship between two brothers who need to rebuild their family relationship, I thought that was perfect, as well as the introduction of new characters who I hope will continue to play a leading role in the future because of their potential. To conclude, this sequel is very good, it's an excellent complement and, even better, it's a firm step towards continuing to develop the story of its characters. The best thing is that we won't have to wait another eight years to see what could possibly be the end of this franchise.
There are countries where the Catholic Church has huge influence on almost every aspect of life, there are countries where that influence is really huge, and then there is Croatia. In the 1990s, this was reflected in Antonia Bird’s Priest being strangely absent from Croatian cinemas, video stores or television. Times are, however, changing, although it has less to do with Croatia itself and more to do with global trends, namely the years of widely reported sex abuse scandals that Hollywood couldn’t afford to ignore any more, paving the way for other cinema industries to follow its example. Croatian filmmakers began to deal with the issue, with the 2013 dark comedy The Priest’s Children using it as part of its subplot. Four years later, sex abuse in the Catholic Church is the main subject of Agape, a drama directed by Branko Schmidt.
The protagonist of the film, played by Goran Bogdan, is Miran, a priest who runs a parish in an impoverished blue-collar neighbourhood of Zagreb. From the outside, he appears to be a good priest and a good man; he takes a genuine interest in the well-being of his parishioners, teaches catechism in the local high school with a great deal of understanding for his teenage pupils and tries his best to take care of the boys from the local orphanage. He also appears “hip” by spending his free time working out in the gym, riding a motorbike and playing video games, the latter often in the company of orphanage boys he regularly invites to his house. Among them is young Goran (played by Denis Murić) who appears to be very fond of Miran. Everything changes with the arrival of Gabrijel (played by Pavle Čemerikić), a physically attractive boy who brings more than palpable attention from the priest, but fails to respond in kind. Jealousy, alcohol abuse, homophobia and conformism produce a turn of events that would shatter Miran’s life.
In the 1990s, Branko Schmidt, due to his conformist “patriotic” films, was perceived as a filmmaker typical of everything wrong with Croatian cinema. With Agape, he continues his transformation into one of the best and most interesting Croatian filmmakers, a process that started with the 2009 Metastases and continued with the 2012 Vegetarian Cannibal. Just like in those two films, written by novelist Ivo Balenović, he gives an uncompromisingly bleak portrayal of Croatian society’s dark underbelly and does so with great skill. The script, which apparently took some time to be finished, is relatively simple and this reflects in the short running time of 77 minutes. Everything in the film looks natural, even the acting – one of the blackest spots of Croatian cinema – is good. Goran Bogdan, known to the international audience for appearing in one season of Fargo, plays his role very well. He is helped by young colleagues from Serbia – Čemerikić (with whom he appeared in The Last Panthers miniseries) and Murić. Another interesting casting choice is for the role of Miran’s wealthy and bigoted parishioner who complains about his daughter dating a dark-skinned Muslim; he is played by Bosnian Muslim actor Emir Hadžihafizbegović.
Schmidt’s direction in this film is simple, but subtle. Although it deals with sex abuse, there isn’t any explicit sexual content in the film. Agape very slowly but convincingly builds the case that the priest has some disturbing urges towards the boys in his care, but leaves much of the interpretation of his actions and motives to the audience. Violence is, on the other hand, quite graphic (and it caused certain controversy by being used in the pre-release marketing). Schmidt puts authentic Zagreb locations to good use, and that even includes somewhat “artsy” scene at the railway junction where two characters symbolically part ways. There are some interesting details that point to Schmidt’s sources of inspiration – the most obvious is Gabrijel looking like Tadzio in Visconti’s Death in Venice. Schmidt’s film also doesn’t shy away from putting Church sex abuse into the broader context of Croatian social pathology, which includes scenes that portray rampant and sometimes violent bigotry (more explicit among younger than older generations of Croatians) and widespread corruption, which includes Church officials involved in shady real estate deals and more than willing to deal with sex abuse allegations by burying them under the carpet. Some of the elements in the film, however, don’t work; the subplot dealing with Miran’s long-suffering older sister (played by Darija Lorenci) seems unfinished. The ending of Agape is open and it would look natural, but is a few minutes overlong. Despite these minor flaws, Agape deserves praise, not only for the authors’ bravery in dealing with a difficult and unpleasant subject, but also because it dealt with it with great skill.

Nous avions regardé la saison 1, il y a 2 ans, alors qu'elle venait de sortir. Nous avons fait pareil avec la saison 2, car nous avions un bon souvenir de cette série américaine.
Cette 2e saison se compose de 8 épisodes également.
Luke Brunner et sa fille Emma (Monica Barbaro) sont tous les 2 des agents de la CIA.
Chez les Brunner, l'amour vient souvent jouer les trouble-fêtes avec des cachotteries, parfois faites sur base de bonnes intentions.
Tout ne nous est pas révélé, on nous cache des choses aussi.
Apparemment, les "méchants" prévoient de provoquer un blackout général sur les Etats-Unis.
Les "gentils" que nous suivons, c'est-à-dire les Brunner et leurs comparses, vont devoir empêcher ce blackout général, évidemment.
Comment dire ? Ils ont leur manière à eux de faire les choses. Parfois, pour eux, les vessies sont réellement des lanternes.
Luke recroisera le chemin d'une ex qu'il pensait morte depuis longtemps, ce qui suscitera quelques suspicions de fiabilité au sein des "gentils".
Emma nous montrera ses talents de danseuse de tango avec un partenaire inattendu, dans l'épisode 3.
En gros, il faut que les "gentils" sauvent le monde et après, Luke prendra sa retraite .. sauf si .. peut-être une dernière petite mission, non ? on verra !

Plusieurs allusions au passé cinématographique de Schwarzy, dont le fameux "I'll be back", même s'il est dit en français ..
Pour les acteurs, à ceux déjà précités, j'ajouterai Travis Van Winkel (Aldon), Fortune Feimster (Ruth/Roo), Milan Carter (Barry), Guy Burnet (Theodore Chips), Carrie-Ann Moss (Greta Nelso), Jay Baruchel (Carter), Adam Pally (le grand Danois), ..
Une saison 3 est en production et est annoncée comme étant la dernière. Peut-être Luke Brunner prendra-t-il réellement sa retraite et que, sans lui, son unité ne survivra pas ? Il faut dire que Schwarzy prend de l'âge, le fameux Mr Univers n'est plus ce qu'il était et c'est bien normal.
Cela nous a fait quelques soirées, tranquillou, sans se prendre la tête, en laissant l'histoire se dérouler.
Cette série est disponible sur Netflix, n'hésitez pas à nous dire ce que vous en avez pensé.
Hello everyone, friends of Hive, fans of good stories, I hope you are doing great today, this time I want to share a new review, I will talk about a well-known series, these will be my opinions of: Narcos, and it is that from the beginning, it puts you fully into this half-documentary wave of how they hunted Pablo Escobar, with everything that happened, be careful, it is not the typical Escobar novel to which we are already accustomed, eh? nothing to do, this one takes the story seriously, but seriously, it seems like cinema, each scene has a quality... like the best gangster movies or those well-made police series... what blew my mind is how they mix how hard and real the story was with that suspense that has you on the edge, like a good thriller, you know? The action scenes in Bogotá and Medellín are great, the chases, the shootouts... everything is so well done that you really feel like you're there... I loved how they use the handheld camera in many parts, it gives it an energy, a rawness... it leaves you glued to your seat!
Oh, and the violence: they handle it super well, it's raw, it reminds you that this really happened, but they don't overly morbidly or hide it as if nothing had happened. Another great thing: the actors. Most of them, tremendous work, huh! I really liked seeing this mix of Latino actors, from various countries, with American actors, and that, more than respecting the languages spoken, gives it a super authentic vibe, few series achieve that... finally a series where not everyone speaks perfect English, and among all of them, Pedro Pascal stands out, who plays the DEA agent, what a presence this guy has! And his character is great because he's tough, but he also has a vulnerable side, very believable.
Hola a todos, amigos de Hive, fanáticos de las buenas historias, espero que hoy estén genial, en esta ocasión les quiero compartir una nueva reseña, les hablaré de una conocida serie, estás serán mis opiniones de: Narcos, y es que desde el principio, te mete de lleno en esta onda medio documental de cómo cazaron a Pablo Escobar, con todo lo que pasó, ojo, que no es la típica novela de Escobar a la que ya nos tienen acostumbrados, ¿eh? nada que ver, esta se toma la historia en serio, pero en serio, parece cine, ada escena tiene una calidad... tipo las mejores pelis de gánsters o esas series policiales bien hechas.. lo que me voló la cabeza es cómo mezclan lo dura y real que fue la historia con ese suspenso que te tiene al filo, como un buen thriller, ¿saben? Las escenas de acción en Bogotá y Medellín.. están geniales, las persecuciones, los tiroteos... todo tan bien hecho que de verdad sentís que estás ahí metido.. me encantó cómo usan la cámara en mano en muchas partes, le da una energía, una crudeza.. te deja pegado al sillón!
Ah, y la violencia: la manejan súper bien, es cruda, te recuerda que esto pasó de verdad, pero no se pasan de morbosos ni tampoco la esconden como si no hubiera pasado nada. Otra cosa genial: los actores. La mayoría, ¡tremendo trabajo, eh! Me gustó mucho ver esa mezcla de actores latinos, de varios países, con actores gringos, y eso, más que respetan los idiomas que se hablan.. le da una onda súper auténtica, pocas series lo logran.. por fin una serie donde no todos hablan inglés perfecto, y entre todos ellos, destaca Pedro Pascal, que hace de agente de la DEA, que presencia tiene este tipo! Y su personaje es genial porque es duro, pero también tiene su lado vulnerable, muy creíble.
And well, Wagner Moura as Pablo Escobar... the guy physically... I feel like he's quite similar, the look he has, ugh!, he tells you everything without opening his mouth... but the accent... oh, the accent, there we really have an issue... it's that half-Brazilian Spanish... I don't know about you, but it really threw me off all the time... and it's not that the guy acts badly, not at all, on the contrary, but of course, in a series that tries so hard to be authentic, the fact that the main character sounds like that... it kind of jars, it makes you uneasy. Still, eh, the series just grabs you anyway, and after a few chapters it's like... well, you get used to it or you let it go a bit... now, the direction and all the technical part... ugh, another level! The photography, people, it's crazy, the landscapes of Colombia, the up-close scenes... everything super well taken care of, you can see the detail... I loved how they play with the camera, the shots... and there's a sequence shot in chapter six that... how good is it!
It's one of those things you have to watch again and say, 'Wow, how did they do that!' And the music... amazing! They throw in those old boleros, mix them with archival footage, and I swear you feel like you're back in the eighties, super Latin, it really pulls you in... but, well, obviously, not everything is rosy. For me, the weakest part, especially at the beginning, are the personal stories of some secondary characters. They didn't really resonate with me, you know? I was totally into the chase for the drug dealers, and suddenly they threw in the family drama or the love story and... pfft, it didn't seem to connect that much... in fact, there are episodes where those stories slow things down a bit and throw you off a bit. Luckily, things improve later on, like in the second half of the second season... then, even Escobar's personal drama with his family becomes much more powerful, it hits home more.
Y bueno, Wagner Moura como Pablo Escobar.. el tipo físicamente... siento que se parece bastante, la mirada que tiene, ¡uf!, te dice todo sin abrir la boca.. pero el acento... ay, el acento, ahí sí que tenemos un tema.. es que ese español medio brasileño... no sé ustedes, pero a mí me sacaba de onda a cada rato.. y no es que el tipo actúe mal, para nada, al contrario, pero claro, en una serie que le mete tanto a ser auténtica, que justo el prota suene así... como que choca, te hace ruido. Igual, eh, la serie te atrapa igual, y después de unos capítulos como que ya... bueno, te acostumbras o lo dejas pasar un poco.. ahora, la dirección y toda la parte técnica... ¡uff, otro nivel! La fotografía, gente, es una locura, los paisajes de Colombia, las escenas más de cerquita... todo súper bien cuidado, se nota el detalle.. me encantó cómo juegan con la cámara, los planos... y hay un plano secuencia en el capítulo seis que... qué bueno que está!
Es de esas cosas que tenés que volver a ver para decir '¡wow, cómo hicieron eso!'.. y la música... ¡temazos! Meten esos boleros viejitos, los mezclan con imágenes de archivo, y te juro que te sentís en los ochenta, súper latino todo, te mete de lleno.. pero bueno, obvio, no todo es color de rosa. Para mí, lo más flojito, sobre todo al principio, son las historias personales de algunos personajes secundarios, como que no me llegaron, ¿saben? yo estaba a mil con la persecución a los narcos, y de repente te metían el dramita familiar o la historia de amor y... pff, como que no conectaba tanto.. de hecho, hay capítulos donde esas historias le bajan un cambio a la tensión y te desconectan un toque. Por suerte, eso mejora más adelante, tipo segunda mitad de la segunda temporada.. ahí sí, hasta el drama personal de Escobar con la familia se pone mucho más potente, te pega más.
Okay, one more thing that didn’t quite click for me: some of the special effects, the explosions in particular… mmm, they seemed kind of fake. It’s not like they ruin the show or anything, but it does clash a bit with how great the technical side of things is in general… then, in the second season they introduced some new characters that… I don’t know, they didn’t really convince me, they were just there to help the story move forward, but without much flair. That said, if you’re like me and get hooked on these stories easily, it’s one of those shows you can binge-watch for the weekend and not stop… it’s super addictive, the episodes fly by and each one really leaves you with something new… just when you think it’s all over, boom! They start to give you the lowdown on what comes next after Escobar, right there with the nod to the Cali Cartel… they leave you in suspense, wanting more! So, to sum up: do I recommend it? Of course, people! Absolutely!
Even though it has those little things I told you about – Moura’s accent, some slow moments, a couple of weak characters – the truth is that the series shines in many ways... the story is tremendous, technically it’s impeccable, the script keeps you glued and, above all, leaves you thinking a lot after each episode, it’s one of those series that not only entertains you, but you feel like you’re watching something important, I give it... a 9/10! I don’t give it a perfect 10 because of those little details I told you about, it has heart, it has a sense, and the production is at a level that’s wow, nothing to envy from those from outside. A ver, otra cosita que no me cerró del todo: algunos efectos especiales, las explosiones, sobre todo... mmm, se notaban medio falsas, no es que te arruinen la serie ni nada, pero sí que choca un poco con lo genial que está toda la parte técnica en general.. después, en la segunda temporada metieron unos personajes nuevos que... qué sé yo, no me terminaron de convencer, como que estaban ahí nomás para que la historia avance, pero sin mucha onda. Eso sí, si son como yo y se enganchan fácilmente con estas historias, es de esas series para encerrarte el finde y no parar.. es súper adictiva, los capítulos se te van volando y de verdad que cada uno te deja algo nuevo.. justo cuando piensas que ya se acaba todo, ¡zas! Te empiezan a tirar la onda de lo que sigue después de Escobar, ahí con el guiño al Cartel de Cali.. te dejan con toda la intriga, queriendo más! Así que, resumiendo: ¿la recomiendo? Obvio que sí, gente! ¡De una!
Aunque tenga esas cositas que les dije –el acento de Moura, algunos momentos medio lentos, un par de personajes ahí medio flojos– la verdad es que la serie brilla por un montón de lados.. la historia es tremenda, técnicamente es impecable, el guion te mantiene ahí pegado y, sobre todo, te deja pensando bocha después de cada capítulo, es de esas series que no solo te entretienen, sino que sentís que estás viendo algo importante, yo le pongo.. un 9/10! No le doy el 10 perfecto por esos detallitos que les conté, tiene corazón, tiene cabeza, y la producción está a un nivel que wow, nada que envidiarle a las de afuera. Así que nada, si todavía no la vieron, se están perdiendo algo muy bueno, y ustedes, ¿ya la vieron? ¿Qué onda? ¿Les pasó lo mismo con el acento de Escobar? Que les pareció? It is evident how I love celestial stories mixed with demonic elements because the latter gives a better taste to life, it's like junk food that is quite harmful to health but I always wait for the end of the month to eat that delicious hamburger that gives the sinful touch, purpose and joy to life haha.
Urd who will be the focus of this review represents just the above, an angel that contains in her being a good dose of demon that develops through a woman who in feelings is very good but her way of acting in extreme liberal takes much of my attention because I need that excitement to my days.... and more specifically night of life lately haha.
This review of Urd although I name dark elements like demons, in reality it will be very soft because in the story, manga and anime where Urd lives in reality the conflicts were very human decorated with celestial and infernal elements that impress the eye but it reminds me a lot to the love conflicts of adolescence where there is no hatred, there is only desire to explore.
Es evidente el como me encantan las historias celestiales mezcladas con elementos demoníacos porque esto ultimo vaya que le da un mejor sabor a la vida, es como la comida chatarra que es bastante dañina para la salud pero siempre espero llegue el final de mes para comerme esa rica hamburguesa que le de el toque pecaminoso, propósito y alegría a la vida jaja.
Urd en quien va a estar enfocada esta reseña representa justo lo anterior, una ángel que contiene en su ser una buena dosis de demonio que se desarrolla a través de una mujer que en sentimientos es muy buena pero su modo de actuar en extremo liberal se lleva mucho de mi atención porque vaya que le hace falta esa emoción a mis dias.... y mas específicamente noche de vida últimamente jaja.
Esta reseña de Urd a pesar de que nombro elementos tenebrosos como los demonios, en realidad sera muy suave porque en la historia, manga y anime donde Urd hace vida en realidad los conflictos fueron muy humanos decorados con elementos celestiales e infernales que impresionan a la vista pero me recuerda mucho a los conflictos amorosos de adolescencia donde no hay odio, solo hay ganas de explorar.

Antes de entrar de lleno con la personalidad de Urd, les comparto un unboxing de una figura de ella que me encantaría tener en casa que la muestra a full esplendor.
Esta sección va dirigida a quienes no la conocen pero al verla en full power estético, pienso que se animaran a conocerla jaja, Fíjense que aparece su clásica figura que considero es la mejor pero a su lado esta la misma figura del personaje pero llevada a otro plano espiritual, no es visualmente como mujer su look favorito para mi pero si que transmite mas su poderío en presencia.
Por cierto a nivel visual en la figura del unboxing se ve esa otra estética pareciera estar mas inspirada en elementos griegos que los típicos angelicales, Urd luce mas como una ninfa olímpica pero no cualquier ninfa, una de relevancia que justamente representaría ese apoderamiento femenino de tiempos actuales y de buen ejemplo para las audiencias femeninas.

Uno de los capítulos que mas me gusto de su anime porque me mostró un poco mas de Urd en su personalidad y forma sincera de ser fue uno donde nos presentan a un musico que fue interés amoroso de Urd en su adolescencia.
Para quienes vieron este anime saben a que capitulo me refiero y para los que no, el punto es que explora la faceta del amor en este personaje pero desde un punto de vista mas maduro.
La mujer vaya que requiere mucha atención siempre, nunca es suficiente jaja, pienso que lo anterior refleja muy bien a ese capitulo donde Urd es protagonista y que de hecho me recuerda mucho a una amiguita llamada Ivana de @aibi93 que básicamente me dice eso mismo jaja, claro esta me lo dice bromeando pero para mi es muy gracioso porque me recuerda a Urd.
Un detalle a criticar es que considero el autor justamente no le dio toda la atención que requería este personaje, Trovador su interés amoroso de antaño es que hace una cantidad de tonterías abismales y lo hace porque a la final es un personaje relleno que el mismo autor ha concebido.

Da mucho pesar porque considero Urd es un personaje con mayor espectro de sentimientos o emociones que puede transmitir y que se aspecto amor se viera reducido a un solo episodio me hace pensar que fue muy desaprovechada en este aspecto en especifico.
Son detalles con los que sufro luego de haber visto este anime porque a pesar de que se dieron bastantes cosas y productos, todo eran los protagonistas jaja, entonces a Urd le quedo fue solo una trama que fue su dualidad demoníaca bien desarrollada.
Eso si lo anterior es de destacar, ella tiene genes celestiales e infernales, estos detalles si te llama la atención el personaje, te encantara conocerlo porque esta muy bien ejecutado en sus alas donde una es de color blanco y la otra es de colo negro tinieblas.
Un personaje que me enamora por su look de mujer madura, de hecho muchas de mis reseñas son mujeres de anime maduras jaja, para la próxima les traeré una mas juvenil pero mientras ha sido para mi mu divertido presentarles a Urd la mujer con las canas celestiales mas bellas del infierno.

"It's just 8 episodes, I'll see this one!" This was my thought when I saw the kdrama trending everywhere on my social media page. I kept wondering what could be the story of this Queen, because I've seen a lot of historical drama and most have a real life story they are based on. My favourite remains "Under The Queen's Umbrella".
Well, as much as I do have high expectations for historical drama, I didn't expect much from an 8-episode series because I suspected it might not end well since it's a short one. For what it's worth, this mini series has a very good amount of thrilling scenes to keep viewers excited about the story and where it ends, accolades to the Queen.
"Queen Woo" is a mini series released in the year 2024 starring "Jeon Jong-Seo" as the main cast, there is also big figures like "Ji Chang-wook" and "Lee Soo-hyuk" who brought to life great characters in the story. This is one of the kdrama with a strong female lead, the last time I saw one like this was in "Under The Queen's Umbrella".
The story captures the political scene of a time in history, a Queen after the death of her husband, the king have to marry one of his brothers, the Princes to rule the kingdom. In her quest to find the right Prince, she has to survive assassination plans from opponents and prepare for a major war between tribes and princes for the throne.
The first and last time I saw the actress "Jeon Jong-seo" before "Queen Woo" was in "Wedding Impossible" and I totally enjoyed her role played in that story but I expected more from her which I think she gave it a 100 in this mini series "Queen Woo". Her facial expression in this story was just perfect, talk of the right character to play Queen.
The first episode made viewers love the king, "Ji Chang-wook" as he had this strong presence unlike kings we've seen before who allow people control their decisions. His chemistry with the queen was quite okay, his fighting skills during war was thrilling to watch but how he died is still a part of the story I wish was given more thought.
One supporting character that hold a strong presence in the story has to be "Lee Soo-hyuk" who played as the third Prince and the first prince the Queen visited with hopes of proposing marriage. The initial plan was marry the third prince, gain power from him and face opponents going against the king's lack of heir before death.
As thrilling as it can get, the powerful Queen dared to decide last minute that she would choose among the princes herself and her first rejection was the third prince because of his psychotic side, he kills his people without much thoughts. Even after realizing he was rejected by the Queen, he kills his wife to pursue Queen Woo.
I think there were more horse riding scenes than normal in this series but it's mainly because the Queen was on a move to find the right prince before the king's death news spread afar. I was dissatisfied with how the Queen's sister's role was played out, her end was also unnecessary. The prime minister role was unclear for a while.
I know there are better historical series than this but for what it's worth, it's still an interesting one to see. Sadly, there's a second season to look forward to. This series is also not for kids, there are a lot of nudity and sex scenes to watch out for. I had a good time binge-watching this, I'll recommend it for the thrills with a rating of 7/10.
“So close, yet so far” are the words that best describe the beginning of the second season of the TV series Black Sails. At least from the perspective of one of its protagonists, the pirate captain Flint (Toby Stephens), who watches from the shore as the wreck of the Spanish galleon Urca de Lima lies beached. Its cargo—legendary amounts of gold and other treasures—is unloaded onto the beach. His dream of seizing it and securing his future, however, remains just a dream due to some practical details, primarily involving his own ship, heavily damaged in a skirmish with the Spanish, and his crew, whose surviving members have deposed him as captain and are more inclined to finish him off quickly than to engage in new battles. Meanwhile, Nassau, the city on the Bahamian island of New Providence and Flint’s home base, has come under the control of the pirate captain Charles Vane (Zach McGowan), which complicates his relationship with his former lover Eleanor Guthrie (Hannah New), a trader who, thanks to the resale of plundered goods and connections with the civilised world, functioned as the unofficial mayor. The creators of Black Sails in the second season did not try to reinvent the wheel. They provided the audience with mostly the same content that had been on the menu a year earlier—a mix of adventure, melodrama, political and business intrigue, all spiced up with explicit violence and sex. The series’ basic concept—that it is, in fact, a prequel to the classic adventure novel Treasure Island—still clearly suggests the ultimate fate of some characters to the more knowledgeable viewers, and the same goes for characters that the series’ creators Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine borrowed from historical books. Although they allowed the new season to be two episodes longer than the previous one, there are no new characters—at least none important enough to last more than a few episodes. Despite all this still boiling down to scheming, deception, brawls, betrayals, and “shocking” revelations about someone’s sexual orientations, Black Sails still looks fresh in its second season.
The most intelligent decision was to reserve the dramatic twists not for the present but for the past, with the most intriguing scenes in flashbacks that show Flint’s past as a promising officer in the Royal Navy, the role that the fatal Mrs. Barlow (played by Louise Barnes) played in the downfall of that career and his turn to piracy, and how romantic idealism and noble intentions clashed with reality in the worst possible way. The screenwriters also had the interesting opportunity to depict the microcosm of Nassau and the pirate world of the early 18th century from the perspective of an outside observer, but this opportunity, except for small hints in one episode, was not utilised. The disappointment is somewhat less in the season finale, which, with its mix of spectacular action and melodrama, somewhat too much resembles similar, not very convincing situations at the season finales of Spartacus. On the other hand, this finale also convincingly removed from the agenda one of the important details in the history of a certain character, but in a way that showed the authors having a sense of black humour. The cliffhanger at the end of the second season is less or, at worst, equally irritating as the one that ends the first. For series like Black Sails, that is more than enough for a thumbs up.

Realmente desconocía la existencia de esta película, pero un día mi hijo estaba viendo sus caricaturas en Netflix y vio esta película en el inicio, me comento sobre ella y que quería verla conmigo y mi esposo, básicamente vi esta película sin saber nada de contexto pero al comenzar se veía bastante interesante.
I really didn't know this movie existed, but one day my son was watching cartoons on Netflix and saw this movie at the beginning. He told me about it and said he wanted to watch it with me and my husband. I basically watched this movie without knowing anything about the context, but when it started, it looked pretty interesting.
THE ELECTRIC STATE
Esta es una película adaptada en el año 1994 sin embargo tiene un cambio interesante ya que en este mundo existe tecnologías avanzadas, al parecer los robots cobraron vida y tuvieron una guerra con los humanos, la cual ganan los humanos y termina en que aíslan a los robots a una especie de cárcel, tambien nos muestran a Michelle una niña huérfana que al parecer vive con un padre adoptivo? Y que al parecer… ¿es violento? Michelle sufrió un accidente con su familia que la dejo completamente sola, de toda su familia su hermano al parecer era mas importante que todos y Michelle vive con ese dolor lo cual le crea conflictos en su vida, además de que se niega a usar la tecnología avanzada que existe en este momento sobre todo en su escuela. Un día Michelle se topa con un robot el cual intenta darle un mensaje y descubrimos que este robot no aparece por arte de magia, tiene un propósito y un secreto que solo Michelle puede saber.

Esta película tenia una trama interesante pero lamentablemente termino en desastre, averiguando un poco sobre la película vi que gastaron 300 millones en producirla cosa que me imagino lo utilizarían para los actores y los efectos especiales de los robots, de otra manera no se donde se fue ese dinero ya que la trama es sumamente horrible, sinceramente me dio mucho sueño esta película, todo pasa tan rápido que no te da tiempo de conectar con los personajes, intentan que simpatices con Michelle y su hermano pero… El hermano sale como en 30 min de película, en el comienzo en una escena super corta donde hablan de la inteligencia abismal que tiene su hermano, recuerdos cortos durante varias partes de la película y casi al final de la película. La película no da risa, tiene chistes sumamente tontos, una historia donde nunca vemos a los padres de Michelle, nunca los recuerda, solo a su hermano como si sus padres jamás hubiesen existido.
This film had an interesting plot but unfortunately ended up being a disaster. After finding out a little about the film, I saw that they spent $300 million producing it, which I imagine they used for the actors and the special effects for the robots. Otherwise, I don't know where that money went, since the plot is extremely awful. Honestly, this film made me very sleepy. Everything happens so fast that you don't have time to connect with the characters. They try to make you sympathize with Michelle and her brother, but... The brother appears for about 30 minutes in the film, at the beginning in a super short scene where they talk about his brother's abysmal intelligence, brief memories during various parts of the film, and almost at the end of the film. The movie isn't funny. It has extremely silly jokes and a story where we never see Michelle's parents. She never remembers them, only her brother, as if her parents had never existed.
De toda la película creo que este fue el único personaje que me gusto y que me hizo reír, el resto dejo mucho que desear, Chris Pratt en algunas ocasiones hace alguno que otro chiste que a penas me sacaron una leve sonrisa pero realmente no entendí que objetivo tenia este personaje en la trama mas que acompañar a la protagonista, últimamente estan repitiendo mucho esta fórmula en las películas y ya aburre demasiado, protagonista debe ir a un lugar peligroso, se encuentra con gente random que decide ayudar (normalmente esta gente suele ser personajes que forzadamente intentan ser los graciosos y tontos) en algun punto tienen un conflicto tonto y finalmente todo se arregla por arte de magia, sin contar que ya me he cansado de ver películas donde algunos de los personajes principal MUERE y mágicamente resucitan, una formula repetitiva que esta convirtiendo el cine en copiar y pegar.
Of the entire film, I think this was the only character I liked and who made me laugh. The rest left a lot to be desired. Chris Pratt occasionally makes a joke or two that barely elicited a slight smile from me, but I really didn't understand what purpose this character served in the plot other than to accompany the protagonist. Lately, they've been repeating this formula a lot in movies, and it's getting really boring: the protagonist must go to a dangerous place, meets random people who decide to help (usually these people are characters who try too hard to be funny and silly), at some point they have a silly conflict, and finally everything is magically resolved. Not to mention that I'm tired of seeing movies where some of the main characters DIE and are magically resurrected, a repetitive formula that is turning cinema into copy and paste.

Rescatando un poco lo bueno creo que el diseño de los robots es increíble y siento que se ven bastante real y muy estéticos a la época, por esa parte no tengo ninguna queja, de hecho fue una de las cosas que mas me llamo la atención cuando vi la portada de la película pero aun asi no le hace justicia a esa trama tan mal ejecutada.
On the positive side, I think the robot designs are incredible, and I feel that they look quite realistic and very aesthetic for the time. I have no complaints in that regard; in fact, it was one of the things that caught my attention the most when I saw the movie poster. However, even so, it doesn't do justice to such a poorly executed plot.
Una película a mi parecer bastante aburrida, los momentos de acción pierden su chispa cuando ves a Millie Bobby Brown corriendo a la velocidad de un caracol en situaciones que debes huir rápido, poco tiempo para simpatizar con alguien, me atrevo a decir que incluso es difícil empatizar con los robots ya que solo nos muestran su historia al principio como una especie de documental de lo que pasó, el hermano de Michelle no transmite nada y realmente siento que se desperdicio dinero, talento y una idea prometedora.
In my opinion, this is a rather boring film. The action scenes lose their spark when you see Millie Bobby Brown running at a snail's pace in situations where you need to flee quickly. There is little time to sympathize with anyone, and I would even dare to say that it is difficult to empathize with the robots, as we are only shown their story at the beginning, like a documentary of what happened. Michelle's brother doesn't convey anything, and I really feel that money, talent, and a promising idea were wasted.

Saludos mis Otakus favoritos de @theanimerealm. Desde hace tiempo que le estaba dando largas a la serie de Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card. Y luego de verla, pienso que no debí haberlo hecho. Créanme que soy muy fan de las historias de CLAMP, pero esta es la segunda vez que me decepcionan y me dolió en el alma.
Déjenme explicarme mejor. Honestamente no entiendo por qué CLAMP decidió lanzar o continuar la serie más majestuosa y bien hecha que han elaborado hasta el día de hoy. Al darle una oportunidad a Sakura Clear Card, entendí que lo hicieron para celebrar y homenajear los 20 aniversario de su estreno.
Entiendo que quisieron hacer algo sumamente especial para los fans, sobre todo los que crecieron con Sakura Card Captors, como yo, quien seguía las aventuras de esta chica con poderes mágicos semana tras semana, en parte se los agradezco por tener tal consideración, pero lamentablemente es más grande mi decepción que mi alegría.
Hay un par de cosas que me molestaron bastante de esta versión, una de ellas es el brillo o gloss que estuvo presente en todos y cada uno de los episodios, además de un efecto de luz innecesario cuando Sakura invocaba su báculo y hacía su típica pose antes de la batalla. Esto la verdad es que lo odié, le quitó esencia a mi serie favorita en muchos sentidos.
Lo otro que me molestó bastante es el hecho de haber mantenido a Sakura tan tonta, a tal punto como si fuese una bebita que no supiera cuidarse sola. Los primeros 6 capítulos me resultaron mega aburridos y totalmente diferentes a lo que conocí de esta chica en mi niñez.
Y lo que odié y me decepcionó por completo de esta versión aniversaria es que no tiene continuación en el animé, sólo en el manga. Es decir, ¿por qué la gente de CLAMP está tan llena de maldad para ver a sus millones de fans esperar algo que ni siquiera han anunciado que llegará? ¿Por qué no dejaron la serie hasta la primera parte y ya?
Este hecho me trajo muy malos recuerdos y un sabor agridulce cuando estrenaron la serie de Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, para más adelante anunciar que descontinuarían el animé porque su trama era "muy oscura". ¿Oscura? Oscura es Made in Abyss y todo el mundo la ha visto, incluso niños, además de ser mundialmente famosa.
Bien, luego de desahogarme un poco con lo que no me gusta, ahora si debo hablar de lo que me gustó. Syaoran fue mi favorito desde que lo vi en el primer capítulo y luego al ver cómo sacaba su espada mágicamente, DIOS MIO! vi un Syaoran replicado de Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles! hasta creí que esta nueva versión tendría alguna relación con aquella historia.
Pero no, esto sólo ocurrió en mi mente y en la de muchos otros fans. Hubiera sido la Gloria ver que estas dos historias se relacionaran magistralmente a través de una dimensión paralela. Además las nuevas cartas si están geniales, al igual que el báculo, todo en estos aspectos fue hermoso y lo amé. Realmente amé todos estos detalles.
Amé ver nuevos personajes, nuevas intrigas, aunque con parecido casi idéntico de principio a fin. Amé ver personajes viejos con su personalidad tan única y divertida, pero sobre todo amé ver la evolución tan linda y especial entre Syaoran y Sakura.
También amé todos y cada uno de los trajes nuevos hechos por Tomoyo para Sakura, cada uno era más lindo que el otro. Y bueno, luego de verlo ahora tengo que repetir toda la primera serie de los 90 más la de Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles mientras me decido si me leo el manga de Sakura Clear Card entre una cosa y otra. Por mi decepción tan grande con CLAMP le asignaré solamente:

Greetings, my favorite otakus from @theanimerealm. I've been putting off the Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card series for a while now. And after watching it, I think I shouldn't have. Believe me, I'm a huge fan of CLAMP's stories, but this is the second time they've disappointed me, and it hurts.
Let me explain. I honestly don't understand why CLAMP decided to release or continue the most majestic and well-crafted series they've ever produced. When I gave Sakura Clear Card a chance, I understood they did it to celebrate and honor the 20th anniversary of its release.
I understand they wanted to do something extremely special for the fans, especially those who grew up with Sakura Cardcaptors, like me, who followed the adventures of this girl with magical powers week after week. I'm partly grateful for their thoughtfulness, but unfortunately, my disappointment outweighs my joy.
There are a couple of things that bothered me a lot about this version. One of them is the gloss that was present in every single episode, as well as an unnecessary lighting effect when Sakura summoned her staff and struck her signature pre-battle pose. I honestly hated this; it took away the essence of my favorite series in many ways.
The other thing that bothered me a lot is the fact that they kept Sakura so silly, to the point of making her seem like a baby who couldn't take care of herself. I found the first six episodes incredibly boring and different from what I knew of this girl as a child.
And what I hated and was completely disappointed by about this anniversary version is that it doesn't have a sequel in the anime, only in the manga. I mean, why are the people at CLAMP so full of malice, only to have their millions of fans waiting for something they haven't even announced is coming? Why didn't they leave the series until the first part?
This fact brought back very bad memories and a bittersweet taste when they premiered the Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles series, only to later announce that they would discontinue the anime because its plot was "too dark." Dark? Dark is Made in Abyss, and everyone has seen it, even children, and it's also world-famous.
Okay, after venting a little about what I don't like, now I must talk about what I liked. Syaoran was my favorite ever since I saw him in the first episode, and then seeing him magically draw his sword—OH MY GOD! I saw a Syaoran replicated from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles! I even thought this new version would have some connection to that story.
But no, this only happened in my mind and in the minds of many other fans. It would have been glorious to see these two stories masterfully connected through a parallel dimension. Plus, the new cards are amazing, as is the staff. Everything about these aspects was beautiful, and I loved it. I loved all those details.
I loved seeing new characters, new plot twists, even though they were almost identical from beginning to end. I loved seeing old characters with their unique and fun personalities, but most of all, I loved seeing the cute and special evolution between Syaoran and Sakura.
I also loved each one of the new outfits Tomoyo made for Sakura; each one was cuter than the last. And well, after watching it, I now have to rewatch the entire first '90s series, plus the Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, while I decide whether to read the Sakura Clear Card manga. Due to my huge disappointment with CLAMP, I'll only give it:
This film was unexpectedly good. I really liked the fact that the story was a light comedy featuring great actors who don't usually work in this genre, and even better, their performances were so good they made me laugh out loud. It's called Undercover, a film about the police trying to catch some mobsters. They hire three mediocre actors to go undercover and gather evidence and useful information so the police can pull off the coup de grâce and finally bring justice to this group of criminals who are only on the run from the law.

Me agradó mucho el hecho de que la historia fuera una comedia ligera donde trabajaran grandes actores que normalmente no suelen trabajar en este género y mejor aún que sus actuaciones estuvieran tan buenas que me hicieron reir a carcajadas. Se trata de Acto Encubierto, una película donde la policía quiere atrapar a unos mafiosos y contratan a 3 actores mediocres para que se infiltren y consigan pruebas e información útil para que la policía logre dar el golpe de gracia y finalmente hacer justicia a este grupo de criminales que sólo huye de la ley.
The character that made me laugh the most was the one played by Orlando Bloom, of whom I'm a fan, having seen him perform as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings. It's worth noting that I hadn't seen him work on the big screen for a while, since he became Katy Perry's boyfriend, but he's back, and he did so in a surprising way because it's the first time I've seen him act in a comedy film. His character was the most committed in the film, always one step ahead of the others, so much so that he got them into a lot of trouble, but he simply continued doing what he loves most: acting, to stand out and ultimately become famous.
El personaje que más me hizo reir fue el que interpretó Orlando Bloom, de quien soy fan, luego de haberlo visto trabajar como Legolas en el Señor de los Anillos. Cabe destacar que tenía tiempo sin verlo trabajar en la gran pantalla, desde que se hizo novio de Katy Perry, pero ha vuelto y lo hizo de manera sorprendente porque es la primera vez que lo veo actuar en una película de comedia. Su personaje fue el más comprometido en el film, siempre un paso adelante de los demás, tanto que los hizo meterse en muchos problemas, pero él simplemente continuó haciendo lo que más le apasiona, actuar, con el fin de destacar y hacerse famoso finalmente.
Another detail I should highlight is the fact that Orlando Bloom worked with his fellow Fellowship of the Ring member, Boromir, better known as Sean Bean. Truth be told, his character also made me laugh a few times when I saw a certain plot twist that would lead to something that many of us knew was bound to happen: the inevitable death of his character. Sean Bean is known for accepting roles in Hollywood where his character usually dies at some point in the film, and in this film, there were no exceptions. He's been so moved by these kinds of stories that he himself has made it clear that he sometimes accepts roles on the condition that his character doesn't die, or at least not in such a predictable way.
Otro detalle que debo destacar es el hecho de que Orlando Bloom trabajó con su compañero de la Hermandad del Anillo, Boromir, mejor conocido como Sean Bean. La verdad su personaje me generó unas cuantas carcajadas también al ver cierta vuelta en la trama y que a su vez ocasionara algo que muchos sabemos que podía pasar, la inevitable muerte de su personaje. Y es que Sean Bean se caracteriza por aceptar papeles en Hollywood donde su personaje suele morir en algún momento del film, y en esta película, no hubo excepciones. Tanto le han tocado este tipo de historias que él mismo ha dejado claro que a veces acepta papeles con la condición de que su personaje no muera o que al menos no muera de una forma tan predecible.
On the other hand, I can't help but recognize the wonderful work done by actors Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Mohammed (my second favorite for his straightforward comedic performance), Paddy Considine, Sonoya Mizuno (surprisingly scheming and evil), and last but not least, the legend of Ian McShane. Each in their way added something extra that was simply needed; they were like the icing on the cake, mixed with ice cream and chocolate syrup, where everything together makes something worth remembering and wanting to watch again for a different kind of time. I recommend this film if you just want to laugh a bit and enjoy very well-done performances.
Por otro lado, no puedo dejar de reconocer el estupendo trabajo que hicieron los actores Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Mohammed (mi segundo favorito por su actuación sencilla de comedia), Paddy Considine, Sonoya Mizuno (sorpresivamente intrigante y malvada) y por último pero no menos importante, la leyenda de Ian McShane. Cada uno a su manera agregó algo extra que simplemente hacía falta, fueron como la cereza del pastel, mezclado con helado y sirope de chocolate, donde todo junto hacen algo digno de recordar y de querer volver a ver para pasar un rato diferente. Definitivamente recomiendo esta película si sólo quieres reir un rato y disfrutar de actuaciones muy bien hechas.
Why did I decide to watch Gilmore Girls? Because I love long series, with drama, snappy dialogue and a dose of coffee (as it should be). I wanted a story to keep me company while I ate, cleaned, got ready... basically, while surviving adulthood. It didn't grab me right away (sorry, Stars Hollow), but after a few chapters I was already emotionally engaged and speaking in sarcasm as Lorelai☕🤭
The 2000s vibes were another big hook. That comforting style, with a dose of nostalgia and family drama, is a comfort zone. I started watching it out of curiosity, thanks to the memes and reels flooding the internet, and ended up staying for the story, the characters and because, at certain stages, I saw myself mirroring some of the Gilmore girls✨
¿Por qué decidí ver Gilmore Girls? Porque me encantan las series largas, con drama, diálogos rápidos y una dosis de café (como debe ser). Quería una historia que me acompañara mientras comía, limpiaba, me arreglaba... básicamente, mientras sobrevivía a la adultez. No me atrapó de inmediato (lo siento, Stars Hollow), pero después de unos capítulos ya estaba emocionalmente comprometida y hablando en sarcasmo como Lorelai☕🤭
Las vibes de los 2000 fueron otro gran gancho. Ese estilo reconfortante, con una dosis de nostalgia y drama familiar, es una zona de comodidad. Empecé a verla por curiosidad, gracias a los memes y reels que inundan internet, y terminé quedándome por la historia, los personajes y porque, en ciertas etapas, me vi reflejada con alguna de las chicas Gilmore✨
Welcome to Stars Hollow, a small town where everyone knows everyone, gossip flies faster than wi-fi, and mother and daughter survive on tons of coffee and sarcasm. Lorelai and Rory Gilmore not only share genes, they also share an enviable friendship, conversations loaded with pop references, and the ability that no matter how many times they argue and drift apart, they always find their way back to each other. There are no superheroes or epic twists here...but there is something better: everyday life, love in different forms, very human mistakes, and a neighborhood so into each other's business that, in the end, you end up loving them (sort of🫢).
Lorelai gave birth to Rory when she was 16, and now, that her daughter is the same age, she tries to be that support that she didn't have, and help her to have a better life. It is a story that shows us how mother and daughter are growing up, developing their plans and dreams, and their paths are very similar to many of us.
And yes: coffee is basically a secondary character here😂
Bienvenidos a Stars Hollow, un pueblito donde todos se conocen, los chismes vuelan más rápido que el wi-fi, y donde madre e hija sobreviven con toneladas de café y sarcasmo. Lorelai y Rory Gilmore no solo comparten genes, también comparten una amistad envidiable, conversaciones cargadas de referencias pop, y la habilidad de que sin importar cuántas veces discutan y se alejen, siempre encuentren el camino de regreso a la otra. Aquí no hay superhéroes ni giros épicos... pero hay algo mejor: vida cotidiana, amor en diferentes formas, errores muy humanos y un vecindario tan metido en los asuntos del otro que, al final, terminas queriéndolo (más o menos🫢)
Lorelai dió luz a Rory a sus 16 años, y ahora, que su hija tiene la misma edad, intenta ser ese apoyo que ella no tuvo, y ayudarla a tener una mejor vida. Es una historia que nos muestra como madre e hija van creciendo, desarrollando sus planes y sueños, y sus caminos son muy parecidos al de muchos de nosotros.
Y sí: el café es básicamente un personaje secundario acá😂
To talk about the characters I have to start with Lorelai Gilmore, the queen of sarcasm with heels and coffee in hand. Her sparkling personality and mocking laugh are, without a doubt, the soul of the series, although I'm not going to lie... she frustrated me more than once🙃 Even so, it's impossible not to admire her: she left behind a life of luxury, but that oppressed her, so that her daughter could be raised with more freedom and options. While still a teenager, she started working in a hotel, and gradually worked her way up until she fulfilled her dream. She knew how to get ahead in her own way, always with a witty comment up her sleeve. She may have gotten lost a few times along the way, but she always knew how to guide Rory when she got disoriented too.
And talking about Rory, yes, I identified with her several times. Watching her grow from the introverted girl who only paid attention to her books, to a young woman determined to make her way in the world, was beautiful✨ We accompanied her through school, through the craziness of college, through her romances, decisions and mistakes. Rory isn't perfect (but who is?), but her evolution as a character is one of those that feels real.
Para hablar acerca de sus personajes tengo que comenzar con Lorelai Gilmore, la reina del sarcasmo con tacones y café en mano. Su personalidad chispeantes y su risa burlona son, sin duda, el alma de la serie, aunque no voy a mentir... me frustró más de una vez🙃 Aun así, es imposible no admirarla: dejó atrás una vida de lujos, pero que la oprimía, para que su hija pudiera ser criada con más libertad y opciones. Siendo aun adolescente comenzó a trabajar en un hotel, y poco a poco fue ascendiendo hasta cumplir su sueño. Supo salir adelante a su manera, siempre con un comentario ingenioso bajo la manga. Puede que se haya perdido un par de veces en el camino, pero siempre supo cómo guiar a Rory cuando ella también se desorientaba.
Y hablando de Rory, sí, me identifiqué varias veces con ella. Verla crecer, desde la niña introvertida que solo prestaba atención a sus libros, hasta una joven decidida a abrirse paso en el mundo, fue hermoso✨ La acompañamos en su paso por la escuela, en la locura de la universidad, en sus romances, decisiones y errores. Rory no es perfecta (¿pero quién lo es?), pero su evolución como personaje es de esas que se sienten reales.
However, the secondary characters are very important in this series. From Luke Danes, Stars Hollow's most lovable grump, who was always there, with a cup of coffee, ready to support them in everything; to the grandparents, Emily and Richard Gilmore, who gave us drama, but also more depth to the story of our main characters, sometimes I didn't share their decisions (as emotional manipulation), but at the end of the day we can't deny that they just wanted to be close to their daughter and granddaughter.
And, one of my favorites, Paris Geller, what a character. Intense, chaotic, reckless, but as bright and necessary as a cup of espresso on Monday. Her friendship with Rory was a roller coaster, but they complemented each other in a very special way. Paris never changed, not for anything, and that was her charm.
Many love stories, and subsequent breakups, fights and reconciliations accompanying our leading ladies season after season (and hey, it's hard to top Rory's romantic interests 😏) Dreams and disappointments, moments when we couldn't stand any of them, but Lorelai and Rory were as unbearable as any human.
Sin embargo, los personajes secundarios son muy importantes en esta serie. Desde Luke Danes, el gruñón más adorable de Stars Hollow, que siempre estuvo allí, con una taza de café, dispuesto a apoyarlas en todo; hasta los abuelos, Emily y Richard Gilmore, quiénes nos dieron drama, pero también más profundidad a la historia de nuestras protagonistas, a veces no compartí sus decisiones (como manipulación emocional), pero al final del día no podemos negar que solo querían estar cerca de su hija y nieta.
Y, uno de mis favoritos, Paris Geller, ¡qué personaje!. Intensa, caótica, imprudente, pero tan brillante y necesaria como una taza de espresso el lunes. Su amistad con Rory fue una montaña rusa, pero se complementaban de una forma muy especial. Paris nunca cambió, por nada, y ese fue su encanto.
Muchas historias de amor, y posteriores rupturas, peleas y reconciliaciones que acompañan a nuestras protagonistas temporada tras temporada (y hey, es dificil superar los intereses románticos de Rory😏) Sueños y decepciones, momentos en que no las soportamos, pero Lorelai y Rory eran tan insoportables como cualquier humano.
One of the things I liked the most is how it manages to touch on deep themes without losing that warmth that characterizes it. Family relationships are at the heart of the series 🩷 The relationship between Lorelai and Rory is beautiful, yes, but also complex. They are best friends, but also mother and daughter, and that's not always easy to balance. Then there's the relationship with the grandparents, which while often strained, also shows that love can come in uncomfortable ways.
We also have the weight of expectations📚 this is especially with Rory, who carries her mother's, her grandparents' and her own self-imposed ones. We see how that drives her, but also how it drains her. The series doesn't idealize success; it shows that sometimes you fall, you get lost, you doubt... and that's also part of the journey. Because growing up is not a straight line, but a lot of curves and stumbles (and sometimes, a cup of coffee spilled on the blouse).
Una de las cosas que más me gustó es cómo logra tocar temas profundos sin perder esa calidez que la caracteriza. Las relaciones familiares son el corazón de la serie 🩷 La relación entre Lorelai y Rory es preciosa, sí, pero también compleja. Son mejores amigas, pero también madre e hija, y eso no siempre es fácil de equilibrar. Además, está la relación con los abuelos, que aunque muchas veces es tensa, también muestra que el amor puede venir de formas incómodas.
También tenemos el peso de las expectativas📚 esto es especialmente con Rory, quien carga con las de su madre, las de sus abuelos y las que ella misma se impone. Vemos cómo eso la impulsa, pero también cómo la agota. La serie no idealiza el éxito; muestra que a veces uno se cae, se pierde, duda... y eso también es parte del camino. Porque crecer no es una línea recta, sino un montón de curvas y tropiezos (y a veces, una taza de café derramada en la blusa)
Similarly, there is a lot of talk about personal growth and feminism🌸 Both Lorelai and Rory are women who fight for their dreams, even if it means going against what is expected of them. The series doesn't give long-winded speeches, but it does show facts of what it's like to make your way in a world that often wants to put you in a box. Whether it's opening a hotel, going to an elite university, or simply saying “no,” both show that being a woman is not a weakness, it's a story of power.
And, obviously, one thing that can't be missed is love💖 Or, love disappointments, rather. It doesn't sell us a fairy tale of perfect relationships, love here comes with confusion, with difficult decisions, with broken hearts and existential doubts. With moments that show you that sometimes you must choose you first. Since failures, those we all want to sweep under the rug, are faced head on here, because failing doesn't take away your courage, it just shows you another way.
De igual manera, se habla mucho acerca del crecimiento personal y feminismo🌸 Tanto Lorelai como Rory son mujeres que luchan por sus sueños, aunque eso signifique ir contra lo que se espera de ellas. La serie no da discursos largos, pero sí muestra hechos de cómo es abrirse paso en un mundo que muchas veces te quiere meter en una caja. Ya sea abriendo un hotel, ir a una universidad de élite, o simplemente diciendo "no", ambas muestran que ser mujer no es una debilidad, es una historia de poder.
Y, obviamente, algo que no puede faltar es el amor💖 O, las decepciones amorosas, mejor dicho. No nos vende un cuento de hadas de relaciones perfectas, el amor aquí viene con confusión, con decisiones difíciles, con corazones rotos y dudas existenciales. Con momentos en que te demuestra que a veces debes escogerte primero a ti. Dado que los fracasos, esos que todos queremos esconder bajo la alfombra, aquí se enfrentan de frente, porque fallar no te quita valor, solo te muestra otro camino.
The series is like that latte you drink on a gray day: comforting, but also with a strong aftertaste☕ It's a story about growing up accompanied, about getting lost and finding yourself again, about mothers who are also daughters, daughters who are also friends, and about learning to love the imperfect in life (and in oneself).
Although not everything is an existential drama, Gilmore Girls has that magic of making you laugh with an absurd scene and then leaving you thinking with a simple sentence. Plus, its characters really evolve in front of you as if you've known them your whole life, and when you realize it... you're already part of Stars Hollow🍂.
It's a perfect series if you need something to keep you company on chaotic days, lazy weekends, or when you just need to feel like someone else is also surviving on sarcasm and plenty of cups of coffee💘
La serie es como ese café con leche que te tomas en un día gris: reconfortante, pero también con un gustito fuerte☕ Es una historia sobre crecer acompañada, sobre perderse y reencontrarse, sobre madres que también son hijas, hijas que también son amigas, y sobre aprender a amar lo imperfecto de la vida (y de uno mismo).
Aunque no todo es un drama existencial, Gilmore Girls tiene esa magia de hacerte reír con una escena absurda y luego dejarte pensando con una frase sencilla. Además, sus personajes realmente evolucionan frente a ti como si los conocieras de toda la vida, y cuando te das cuenta... ya formas parte de Stars Hollow🍂
Es una serie perfecta si necesitas algo que te acompañe en días caóticos, fines de semana perezosos, o cuando simplemente necesites sentir que alguien más también está sobreviviendo a punta de sarcasmo y muchas tazas de café💘
