It is interesting how the proposals are changing in terms of series and movies, and while it is true that many maintain the essence or inspiration of past proposals, others vary or positively transcend into a little explored terrain that will undoubtedly cause an impact on at least an important part of those of us who are attentive to see new and innovative proposals. There are not many series or movies in which directors or producers seek to evolve, sometimes it seems that they prefer to stay on safe ground to maintain profitable numbers, but to ignore this part is what can make a content memorable over time.
So I present to you “Murderbot”, an Apple TV+ series currently airing and directed by Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz. It stars Alexander Skarsgård, a very good actor who gives life to an anxious and depressive robot who has to deal with the horrors of human groups. The genre of this series is science fiction and comedy, but there are also elements of drama and action that greatly enrich the plot. So far 7 chapters have been aired out of the 8 that this 1st season will have. I was struck by the fact that each episode is less than 30 minutes long.
To give you some context, in this series we move to the future, there are travel through wormholes and humanity has already populated other planets, and in that sense, technology has also advanced to the point that robots or androids are built for all kinds of functions. So our protagonist, Murderbot, who has the function of being a security robot, hacks its software and manages to break free from the control of its manufacturer, but he knows that he must keep up appearances because if they realize that he is no longer under control, they will look for him and destroy him.
This robot has the particularity of being very analytical with human attitudes, likewise, he seems to suffer from depression, but he curiously calms it by watching a TV series called “Sanctuary moon”, a comedy full of drama that has taught Murderbot how to react to different circumstances when he is in the presence of human beings. Beyond the science fiction of this series, which is not negligible, the comedy applied from the point of view of interpersonal relationships and how an entity such as a robot is progressively relating to a group of humans, learning from the good things and ignoring and abhorring the negative things, there are many opportunities in certain circumstances in which to learn and reflect on human stupidity, I notice a fairly strong criticism of society which is disguised with irony and absurd comedy.

The story has a depth that makes it shine... but let's take it one step at a time, the anime focuses on Saki and Yuta, two characters who, at first glance, yes, fall into the mold of a step-sibling romance. I'm not going to lie, when I read what it was about, I almost told it to go to hell... but as things progress, you realize that this isn't your typical easy, boring romance. What really makes the difference here is how Saki and Yuta interact, instead of jumping headfirst into exaggerated drama, the anime takes its time to build their relationship. Their feelings evolve in a super natural way, and what stands out the most is the respect they have for each other. It's rare to find characters so well crafted, where even the awkward silences tell you something. It's not a romance forced on to fulfill a stereotype or some fetish; It's a story about two people who are really getting to know each other.

La historia tiene una profundidad que la hace brillar.. pero vamos por partes, el anime se centra en Saki y Yuta, dos personajes que, a primera vista, sí, caen en el molde del romance de hermanastros, no les voy a mentir, cuando leí de qué iba, casi lo mando al carajo de una.. pero a medida que avanza la cosa, te das cuenta de que esto no es el típico romance facil y aburrido. Lo que de verdad marca la diferencia aquí es cómo interactúan Saki y Yuta, en lugar de tirarse de cabeza al drama exagerado, el anime se toma su tiempo para construir la relación.. sus sentimientos van evolucionando de una manera súper natural, y lo que más destaca es el respeto que se tienen, se nota que se preocupan por los límites del otro, y eso hace que cada momento juntos se sienta real, como que te lo crees.
Yo, personalmente, me terminé identificando un montón con el dilema interno de Saki.. su historia no es solo de enamorarse de Yuta, sino de encontrarse a sí misma, de saber quién es, Yuta no es el típico prota ahí, de cartón piedra, que solo está para adornar.. él también tiene su profundidad, sus cosas emocionales, y su apoyo sutil ayuda a Saki a abrirse de una forma que se siente genuina y conmovedora. Es raro encontrar personajes tan bien hechos, donde hasta los silencios incómodos te dicen algo, no es un romance metido a la fuerza para cumplir con un estereotipo o con algún fetiche; es una historia sobre dos personas que de verdad se están conociendo..

Now, I have to talk about the direction... let’s see, the animation isn’t that great, honestly, sometimes it even looks kind of basic and poor, but the director... wow, this guy works magic.
It extracts gold from where there is none and turns limitations into opportunities to tell you the story in a unique way, for example, instead of just shoving in summaries of previous episodes like that, as if it were no big deal, it weaves them into the story so well that they even add to the overall vibe of the series. I was blown away by how each scene seemed to be crafted with a love and sincerity that you don't always see... it's like watching a painter who, with four colors, paints a picture that leaves you thinking, and speaking of well-directed moments, there's a scene where Saki's memories look like they're in a dream, all weird. I don't want to spoil it, but the way they mix her past with her present, all nostalgic and almost poetic, gives the story an emotional weight that touches your soul... this anime isn't just a romance, it's also a story about growing up, about learning to deal with what happened to you while trying to figure out what's going on with the future... that idea, people, touched my heart.
Una cosa que me voló la cabeza de este anime es cómo contaron la historia, no es que te lo muestran desde un solo lado, ¿entienden? Y piénsenlo, ¿a quién no le ha pasado algo así en la vida real? ahora, tengo que hablarles de la dirección.. a ver, la animación no es que sea la octava maravilla, la verdad, a veces se ve hasta medio básica y pobre, pero el director... wow, este tipo hace magia.
Saca oro de donde no hay y convierte las limitaciones en oportunidades para contarte la historia de una manera única, por ejemplo, en vez de meterte resúmenes de capítulos anteriores así nomás, como quien no quiere la cosa, los mete tan bien en la historia que hasta le suman onda al ambiente general de la serie. Me quedé loco viendo cómo cada escena parecía hecha con un cariño y una sinceridad que no se ven siempre.. es como ver a un pintor que, con cuatro colores, te pinta un cuadro que te deja pensando, y hablando de momentos bien dirigidos, hay una escena donde los recuerdos de Saki se ven como si fueran un sueño, así todo raro. No les quiero spoilear, pero la forma en que mezclan su pasado con su presente, todo nostálgico y casi poético, le da un peso emocional a la historia que te llega al alma.. este anime no es solo un romance, también es una historia de cómo crecer, de aprender a lidiar con lo que te pasó mientras intentas ver qué onda con el futuro.. esa idea, gente, me llegó directo al corazón.

Otra cosa que me gustó fue el mensaje sobre la familia, la serie te pone a pensar, ¿qué onda realmente con la familia? Saki y Yuta no son de sangre, pero la conexión que arman durante toda la serie es tan fuerte, que te deja pensando: a ver, ¿qué define a una familia de verdad? ¿Es solo el ADN o es más bien el cariño, el respeto, el tiempo que pasas con alguien? Y aunque la animación no sea la más impresionante, la música y el sonido levantan cada escena, hay un tema musical que suena a cada rato en los momentos más emotivos, y de verdad que te atrapa la onda agridulce de crecer y dejar cosas atrás.. después de terminar la serie, me di cuenta de que la estaba tarareando, eso dice mucho del impacto que tuvo.

My Review
Firstly, the movie was good, I'm not gonna lie about that, though it didn't meet my expectations. To be honest, I loved the concept of the movie at the beginning.
The movie was self-centered, like the world revolved around Alex. "Like," I know she is the lead cast, but then centering everything on her wasn't that pleasing to the eye.
At the mother's funeral, it felt like nobody cared about the mum, like no show of emotion, maybe they were expecting the death since it had to do with cancer, but then the death of a loved one is something that is supposed to be felt wholeheartedly.
I know some men don't take it as a joke when their women cheat, Alex's mother cheated on her husband but then the husband raised and loved Alex as his own despite knowing the truth but Alex at the other hand was making it hard for her father to make up for not telling her the truth about not being her biological father.
There were so many factors that made this movie not so good, but then I'm not gonna go further not to be a spoiler for others who might like to watch it for themselves.
I'm gonna rate this movie a 5/10 danm!! It met the average point. "I can't believe it." I'm even surprised right now.

En mi caso el genero de fantasía donde se involucra elfos, hadas, etc que en anime seria básicamente el isekai no es para nada de mis favoritos, tienen su encanto pero por naturaleza este tipo de historias o genero no me atrae, pero lo que si me atrae bastante es el cuerpo femenino que en este anime se combina con lo cómico y la carencia absoluta de racionalidad haciendo que la historia sea una locura con un sello propio muy marcado.

Afortunadamente si que vi muchas veces en televisión la primera temporada de este anime porque claro, la televisora lo repetía a cada rato una y otra vez jaja, lo vi tanto que a pesar de las décadas que han pasado, recuerdo muy bien el conflicto y variados de sus capítulos donde uno de ellos su trama giraba en torno a una criatura muy tierna y graciosa que hacia del baño cosas raras jaja, ya queda en ti animarte a ver esas cosas raras cuando veas el anime y te garantizo reirás a mas no poder jaja.
Una sinopsis sencilla del anime es que cuatro protagonistas humanos buscan volver a su mundo y para lograrlo deben cazar elfas que tengan la marca o tatuaje legendario que con el uso de la magia, esto les permitirá regresar a su hogar o mejor dicho su mundo real.
No quiero detallar personalidades de los protagonistas porque varios de ellos merecen todo el enfoque en reseñas de manera individual, en este caso en lo que mas me quiero enfocar es en el entorno que moldea a la historia que son las Elfas y el como buscar sus marcas de nacimiento o de magia.
And obviously the most reasonable way to see if they have those marks or tattoos is to undress them.... hahaha is that I remember and laugh at all the funny scenarios that revolve around this during the development of the story in this anime.
In the Gif of Tenor that I share with you you can see a sample of the classic structure of an elf, I don't know why they always draw them super innocent haha, maybe that attracts more to the male audience and with colors of all kinds except brunettes, I love brunettes, not all elves should be white haha, I criticize in general to all the stories that include elves.
Oh and by the way, all the above happens next to a talking war tank that also wants to return to the real world because it turns out that it can make sounds and move autonomously .... without the need for gasoline haha, I do not know what is more nonsense, that this war tank talk or that it can move without any fuel haha.
I hope you are encouraged to see this entertaining and short anime, as I mentioned, I have yet to see the second season that I will bring you my review later with my opinions on how is its outcome, while the beginning of the adventure is totally light and fun to watch while our protagonists undress any elf that crosses their path haha.

Ah y por cierto, todo lo anterior sucede junto a un tanque de guerra parlante que también quiere volver al mundo real porque resulta que puede hacer sonidos y moverse de manera autónoma.... sin necesidad de gasolina jaja, no se que es mas sin sentido, que ese tanque de guerra hable o que pueda moverse sin necesidad de algún combustible jaja.
Espero se animen a ver este entretenido y corto anime, como les mencione, a mi me falta ver la segunda temporada que les traeré mi reseña luego con mis opiniones sobre que tal es su desenlace, mientras el inicio de la aventura es totalmente liviano y divertido de ver mientras nuestros protagonistas desnudan a cualquier elfa que se les cruce en el camino jaja.

I’d seen all the hype. Everyone was talking about Jujutsu Kaisen. Social media was filled with Gojo memes, fan art, and dramatic anime fights. But I’ve seen flashy shows before—great animation, but sometimes all the hype would be just overboard.
One lazy Saturday evening, I opened Netflix out of boredom. I had just finished another show, and Jujutsu Kaisen popped up in the “most popular” tab. I hesitated. Then I clicked.
The first few minutes were quiet just a boy, a dying grandfather, and a strange sense of something bigger creeping in. But when that boy—Yuji Itadori, swallowed a cursed finger to save someone else…
I knew this wasn’t going to be just another action anime.
I got interested immediately, I was hooked.
Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime series that takes place in a world where curses (hatred, fear, and sorrow are the negative human emotions that give birth to curses) freely exist. They lurk in hospitals, in schools, in train stations and even in quiet homes. And only some special individuals like Jujutsu sorcerers are able to see and combat them.
Our protagonist Yuji Itadori is not really a hero. He is a typical teenager with unbelievable strength and a heart that has overly many cares. Once he consumes one of the most deadly cursed items, which is the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, he becomes the vessel of Sukuna.
However, he does not lose himself; Yuji makes a decision: when he has to die at some point, he will do it in benefit of people. He is seeking a meaningful death.
That was what did me.
It was that single decision, a decision filled with tears, anger and optimism, that set everything in motion.
Yes, Jujutsu Kaisen has incredible battles. The animation is crazy- liquid, quick, and colorful. The mannerism of the characters with the manner of moving, screaming, and even bleeding, is all natural.
However, the combats are not only about cool moves.
Each battle has a lot of emotion. It doesn t matter whether Yuji is trying to deal with his guilt, Megumi with his silent sorrow, or Nobara with the impetuous pride, every battle is a tempest of emotions brought outward. When Gojo gets all out, or when Yuji and Todo are perfectly synchronized together, it is not that there is adrenaline. It’s art.
What is my favorite moment? In the fight between Yuji and Nanami and Mahito.
It was not just a battle, but a lesson of humanity. Mahito is a curse, which experiments with human souls. Seeing Yuji attempting to rescue innocent human beings and at the same time attempting not to lose his own sanity... it broke me.
This story really got me asking myself some questions like
What Does It Mean to Live a “Good Life”?
Yuji’s grandfather told him: “Help people. Die surrounded.” That one line shaped his journey. But as he loses more people, and as the weight of death piles up, Yuji begins to wonder—what if I can’t save everyone?
That question haunted me too. It’s so easy to feel powerless in our real world. So watching Yuji struggle, really struggle—with grief, guilt, and purpose, felt deeply personal.
Gojo Satoru, who is, most likely, the strongest character in the manga, teaches us this in every scene. He’s strong. It is so powerful it is frightening. However, he is lonely. Seeing him smile underneath that blindfold, and laugh at stupid jokes, and yet have the burden of the need to protect everyone on his shoulders- that made me respect more than the hype.
The series keeps telling us: power alienates. But these characters continue to engage in fighting not on their behalf.
I also learnt that Pain Is Inevitable. What We Do With It Defines Us. Jujutsu Kaisen doesn’t shy away from pain.
Characters die. Innocent people suffer. And there are no perfect endings. But somehow, it never feels hopeless.
There’s always a spark of resistance. A clenched fist. A voice screaming, “Not today.”
That’s what makes the story unforgettable.
During the show, I felt everything. Anger. Laughter. Fear. Love.
Watching Yuji cry after witnessing his first loss… it reminded me of my own moments of helplessness. Watching Nobara fight with blood on her face and pride in her heart that reminded me that confidence doesn’t mean you’re not afraid. It means you fight anyway.
And after the final episode of season one, I just sat there. Still. Thinking.
About people I miss. About pain I carry. About how we all have curses internal ones fears, doubts, traumas.
But like Yuji, we get up. We fight. Not because it’s easy, but because someone else might need saving. Even if that person is ourselves.
Jujutsu Kaisen may appear to be a popular anime. However, it is not just about curses, fights, and slick visuals.
It is the story of making the right choices in a mean world. Approximately, about bearing the pain without letting it corrode your heart. Losing people and yet continuing your forward motion not because you are unscathed, but because they would prefer you to.
It helped me recall that our vices, be it the fleshly or emotional demons, do not define us. It is not who we are, but how we come back up after being broken.
Therefore, in case you are in need of a show that will excite your eyes, break your heart and sew it back up with hope and fire, then you should look no further than Jujutsu Kaisen.

The film’s PG-13 rating, studio interference, and lack of originality left it as a bland, forgettable entry in Marvel’s filmography, a cautionary tale of how well-intentioned adaptations can unravel under the weight of commercial constraints and creative compromise.
The film’s origins lie in the turn of the millennium, a time when Hollywood, and particularly Marvel Comics, discovered a treasure trove of superhero comic books as the source of immensely popular films. The trend began in 2000 with X-Men, which proved that superhero films could be both commercially successful and artistically ambitious. However, the 2003 release of Daredevil marked a significant hiccup in this trend, as the film’s commercial results were underwhelming, and its reception was mixed. While X-Men (2000) had been a critical and commercial success, Hulk (2003) had been a relative failure, and Daredevil (2003) was even worse. This film, inspired by Frank Miller’s dark, revisionist version of the original comics, was a missed opportunity that highlighted the risks of adapting complex, morally ambiguous source material to a mainstream cinematic format.

The result was a film that was mercilessly cut, and no editing can hide the serious holes in the plot and characterisation. The film’s original script had been designed to be a visceral, unflinching portrayal of Daredevil’s struggles, but the studio’s interference forced a compromise that left the film feeling watered down and unfulfilling. This is a recurring issue in Hollywood adaptations of comics, where the desire to appeal to a broader audience often leads to the dilution of the source material’s core themes.
Director Johnson, known for his work on comedies and sentimental dramas, was clearly not the right choice for this project. His direction is marked by a clumsy execution of action scenes, which are often confusing and poorly choreographed. The only exception is the scene of the rendezvous between Daredevil and Electra, which is a brief but effective moment that highlights the film’s potential. However, the rest of the film’s action sequences are plagued by over-the-top choreography and a lack of focus, which detracts from the overall narrative.
The film’s cast is another area where the film falls short. Ben Affleck, as Matt Murdock, delivers a performance that is inconsistent and underwhelming. While he portrays the blind lawyer with a certain gravitas, his portrayal of the vigilante is overly restrained, lacking the physicality and intensity required to convey the character’s rage and fury. Michael Clarke Duncan, who had previously shone as an angelic character in The Green Mile, falters in the role of Kingpin, a ruthless crime lord. His performance is hampered by the film’s PG-13 limitations, which forced the studio to soften the character’s brutality.
The only character who seems interesting in the film is Jon Favreau as Murdock’s colleague “Foggy” Nelson, while Colin Farrell slightly overacts in the role of the demonic Bullseye. These moments, while not enough to redeem the film, highlight the film’s occasional strengths. However, the overall impression is that the film’s characters are underdeveloped, and the narrative is lacking in depth.
When all this is added to an anti-cathartic ending (with an obvious intention to leave material for sequels), Daredevil leaves a disappointing impression of a film that did not fully utilise its potential. The film’s failure to capitalize on its source material’s potential is a major disappointment, especially considering the film’s ambitious vision.
Although Daredevil (2003) had modest commercial success, critics were not too happy, and fans of the original comic books were left disappointed. Plans for a sequel were abandoned following the disastrous 2005 spin-off Elektra, which further highlighted the film’s shortcomings. Thankfully, Marvel Comics learned from its mistakes and applied these lessons not only to the Marvel Cinematic Universe but also to the highly regarded 2015 Netflix streaming series Daredevil, starring Charlie Cox. This series, which embraced the darker, more complex themes of the original comics, is a testament to the film’s potential and the importance of balancing commercial appeal with artistic integrity.

Hello friends, I saw Sitaare Zameen Par. As you all know, this film is an official remake of the Spanish film Champions. And "official remake" means take exactly 90% of the film same. And is it a good movie?
I would say - yes, it's a good remake. And those who have not seen Champions, they will like this movie - very much. Those who have seen the film will also like it. There are many positive aspects to this film. There are also some negative aspects, which I will talk about later.
Before I begin, let me tell you a little story. And before that, it's directed by R.S. Prasanna and its work is accompanied by Aamir Khan, Genelia and many others.
Story Overview
If we tell the story in a short way - Aamir Khan is a basketball coach, junior coach. This time the junior coach will punch the senior coach, there will be a panga and he will be punished. It will be called punishment - you will teach basketball to specially abled children for three months and prepare them for a match.
What's Aamir Khan going to do? How is he taking this challenge and whether he is able to meet the challenge till the end? Are you able to complete this task? And what's going to change that? All in all, this movie is great - over two and a half hours running length.
How was the film?
It's good and I would call it a good remake. Because, those who are specially abled children here, that is, those who have been cast, they have performed brilliantly.
Let me tell you one thing, it may be surprising to hear - the flaws in Aamir Khan's acting, they have covered them with their acting. And that's outstanding. Each of the characters - the ones who play these specially abled children - are really just like you see in the movie. They are not acting, the realistic thing in their acting comes out very well. And that's what I like to see.
All of them performed very well. And as I said, Aamir Khan's flaws are covered - that's comedy. Aamir Khan is a comedy actor. I'll get to that later on in the negative.
The comedy they pull off is outstanding. The comedy is very good. Emotions - Emotions are well connected here as well.
Now you will say - can this film make me emotional like Taare Zameen Par?
I mean, no, you don't expect that. And do not go to watch the film keeping in mind the story of Taare Zameen Par. Then you will be disappointed. This film can make you emotional, in many places, but not at the level of Taare Zameen Par.
But you will be emotional. There are some things that I like to see. For example, when the kids are losing and winning - there is a rat scene, the way that scene was shot - outstanding.
Look and Feel, BGM - pretty good, all right. A little more would have been nice. Yet when you look at the big screen, a premiumness can be provided.
And the message it is delivering - that those special abel children, whom we commonly refer to as "crazy" - are not "crazy" in the sense that they are different from us. There is something special in them, which is not in our normal people. If they can also be drawn closer with a little love, if they are given a chance, then they can also do something unexpected. They have talent - that's what you need to know.
And I love the way this message is delivered. I will give credit not to the makers of this film, but to the makers and writers of the original film. They needed to talk about it.
The Negative Side:
The first one is Aamir Khan. After how long I saw such a bad performance of Aamir Khan - you will also be forced to say. His hardcore fans will also say - "Brother, what kind of performance is this? "
Comedy, not a laugh. Cringe, over the top comedy. What do you see in the eyes - what is it? The kids covered it up. They performed so well that you won't be able to take your eyes off them.
I expected a better performance from Aamir Khan, but I didn't get it. Aamir Khan was the worst performer. Sounds bad, I know. But I'm telling the truth.
The performance of the rest is not good. Everyone is average. Yes, I like Aamir Khan's performance.
Aamir Khan says, "I'm not teaching the kids, the kids are teaching me. " And this dialog corresponds to his acting. Yes, the kids taught you. At least in this movie - taught how to perform in comedy. You couldn't show how realistic comedy should be.
A love story?
The love story between Aamir Khan and Genelia is one of the best. Looks like there's no flash, there's no shape. It had no place on the screen. It wasn't needed. Bad writing. Love story is not able to give any input. Whether you think it will happen or not.
Match Scenes and Climax:
The film lacks edge-of-the-seat moments. There was no excitement in the match. One can say - there were some restrictions in shooting with specially abled children. But it wasn't to be. They didn't show.
Only in the last scene one feels a little 'edge of the seat'. The rest of the games don't have those moments.
Music and lyrics:
Aamir Khan's relationship with his mother or his fear of getting into the elevator - all these are solved like magic. All these years of fear, a sudden change? These things could have been better.
A song? Very common. You don't remember the songs. You won't find songs like Taare Zameen Par here. The BGM is quite good, the music - disappointing.
Let me summarise:
There are two types of viewers who can watch this movie - those who have seen Champions or not. The film will not disappoint you in all three areas - emotion, comedy and the wonderful performance of the children.
But the songs and Aamir Khan's performance - yes, they are disappointing.

It turns out that since my last post, where I told you about my experience defending my thesis, then how the presentation went and how I did, I was ready to get back to my routine of uploading content and other things here on Hive... but I got sick... again.
But it's either one ailment or another, and this time I got sick with my spine, and the treatment I've been taking has kept me resting and drugged up, which hasn't allowed me to concentrate, in addition to sleeping almost all day, since it has a lot of antiallergics, until now that I'm finishing it.
So, let's hope that over the next few weeks and by the end of the month, according to my test results, everything else will be fine. Now, one of the things I had planned for you is this review, and yes, it's about Star Wars. Although it's not a movie from today or last year, but from 2005, it turns out that during Star Wars month, i.e., May, Disney decided to re-release it in theaters for its 20th anniversary since it premiered on the big screen.
It's incredible that this movie is already 20 years old and has left its mark on countless generations, including me. Unfortunately, I couldn't see it at the time for obvious reasons, but by one of life's mysteries, this year I did, and it definitely deserves a review, both for those who are familiar with the Star Wars universe and those who are not. As you know, my reviews give a brief summary and at the end I give my comments about the film.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. The forces of the Galactic Republic are divided. As the war intensifies, the Jedi Knights and their clone army are scattered across the galaxy, focusing on the Outer Rim, leaving many Republic systems vulnerable to attack by the Separatists.
In the absence of the Republic forces, General Droid Grievous launches an aggressive attack on the Republic capital Coruscant and kidnaps Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. With this attack on the heart of the Republic, the Jedi Council has sent Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi to rescue the Chancellor, unaware that a trap is being set by their former ally and now traitorous separatist leader Count Dooku, who awaits them aboard the general's ship.
I'm not going to lie to you, the summary is very brief, I know, but there's a reason for that, at least in the Star Wars movies. Perhaps when I review a series or episodes of one, it will be different, but at least in the movies it's necessary, because otherwise the whole narrative would be lost and there would be no room for comments. The movie presents us with a galactic conflict that is on the verge of collapse, where one side, the Republic, is about to overcome the other, the Separatists, marking the beginning of the end, and that happens with the imminent attack on the Republic's capital and the rescue of the chancellor. However, this plot opens the window to reveal that first, if the conflict is going to end, but for whom? And second, did they really defeat the villain when Anakin killed Count Dooku and rescued the Chancellor?
The film itself hints that the plot and the outcome will not be a happy ending, but rather a sad happy ending with a ray of hope. However, George Lucas was not good at this, unless you saw all three films of the prequel trilogy, and even then, you would need to watch the series or miniseries to have context for the whole disaster that occurs in Episode 3, because in fact that's what it is. Episode 3 as a Star Wars movie as a narrative is the turning point of the whole plot. It's where everything falls apart, everything breaks, everything is lost, and evil begins to take shape. But you don't understand this if you don't have the context of why and how. if you watch it for the first time, you'll only see a guy who is frustrated because they won't let him be a Master and have his wife and son, or because they won't help him, which, yes, is partly true, but Anakin has suffered more than that, ha ha ha.
Even though it's a Star Wars movie and it's one of my favorites, it's not immune to my criticism. For example, the acting is very poor, especially from the main characters. Hayden Christensen, if I count his performances, mostly just frowned and looked at you with a face of hatred or love, nothing more. However, he himself admits that at that time he was learning to act, which doesn't detract from his work. On the other hand, Natalie Portman is an actress with a lot to offer. Even before she appeared in Star Wars, I always said that she shines in all or most of her films, except here, because here, she only knows how to look sad or happy or say "I love you, Ani" and that's it, or overacting, which I sometimes don't understand because, as I said, it's Natalie Portman and we're not talking about someone who doesn't know how to act, but anyway. The performances I could salvage from this movie are those of Samuel L. Jackson and Ewan McGregor.
Now, because Star Wars fans really like this movie despite the plot holes and performances, because if we look at the narrative, the film is full of feelings from a construction that, although it was difficult and is difficult to understand when you're new to it, makes sense when you start watching Star Wars. You understand the character of Anakin, the clones, the war, the republic, the other characters, and you see that all of that is going to take a dark turn or they are going to die in episode 3. It's heartbreaking but at the same time poetic. On the other hand, it's one of the best films featuring lightsaber duels, with the best soundtracks. Considering that it was recorded in 2005, the fights still give you goosebumps when the duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan begins, as it's decisive for the story and they really didn't skimp on the effects there.
Well, for me it was a true masterpiece, and I got to see this movie on the big screen. That 9-year-old Omar watching Star Wars for the first time, who started to love it and still does to this day, is super happy. Espero se encuentren muy bien, yo bien, gracias a Dios, sin embargo no pelo una, como dicen por aquí, en mi país, porque si no es una cosa es otra jajaja. Resulta que desde mi último post, que les comentaba como fue mi experiencia con mi defensa de tesis, luego como fue la presentación y de cómo me había ido, ya estaba listo para retomar mi rutina para subir contenido y otras cosas por aquí en Hive….peroooo me enferme.. otra vez
Pero es que si no es un achaque es otro, pero está vez me enferme de la columna, y el tratamiento que he estado tomando me ha tenido en reposo y dopado, que no me ha permitido concentrarme, además de dormir casi todo el día, ya que tiene muchos antialérgicos, hasta ahora que ya lo estoy finalizando.
Así que bueno, esperemos que en el transcurso de las semanas y finales de mes, de acuerdo a los exámenes que me salgan, este todo bien del resto. Ahora bien, una de las cosas que les tenía programada es está reseña, y si, es de Star Wars, que si bien, no es una película de hoy, ni de del año pasado, sino del 2005, resulta que durante el mes de Star Wars, es decir Mayo, Disney decidió reestranarla en cines por su aniversario número 20 de haberse estrenado en pantalla grande.
Es increíble que está película ya tenga 20 años, y haya marcado a un sin fin de generaciones incluyendome, lamentablemente no la pude ver en ese momento por obvias razones, pero por misterios de la vida, este año sí, y justamente merece su reseña, para los que son conocedores del universo de Star Wars y para los que no. Ya saben, mis reseñas doy un breve resumen y al final doy mis comentarios acerca del filme.
Hace mucho tiempo, en una galaxia muy muy lejana. Las fuerzas de la república galáctica están divididas, cuánto más se intensifica la guerra, los caballeros Jedi y su ejército de clones, están repartidos por toda la galaxia, haciendo énfasis en el borde exterior, dejando muchos sistemas de la república vulnerables ante el ataque de los separatistas.
Ante la ausencia de las fuerzas de la república, el general Droide Grievous lanza un ataque agresivo hacia la capital de la república Coruscant y ha secuestrado el supremo canciller palpatine, con este ataque al corazón de la república, el consejo Jedi ha enviado al caballero Anakin Skywalker y Obi-Wan Kenobi para rescatar al Canciller, sin saber que una trampa se aproxima de su antiguo aliado y ahora traidor líder separatistas Conde Dooku quien los espera a borde de la nave del general.
No les voy a mentir, el resumen, está muy resumido, lo sé, pero es que tiene una razón de ser, al menos en las películas de Star Wars, quizás cuando reseñe una serie o capítulos de una será distinto, pero al menos en las películas es necesario, porque sino toda la narrativa se me fuese allí y no daría espacio a los comentarios. La película nos plantea un espacio de un conflicto galáctico que está al borde del colapso, dónde un bando es decir la República, está por superar a otro, los Separatistas, marca el principio del fin, y eso sucede con el ataque inminente hacia la capital de la República y el rescate del canciller, sin embargo, está trama abre la ventana para dar a conocer que primero, si el conflicto va a terminar pero ¿para quien? Y lo otro, realmente vencieron al malo cuando Anakin mato al Conde Dooku y rescato al canciller ?
De por sí, la película se deja entre ver qué la trama y el desenlace no será un final feliz, sino un feliz triste con un rayo de esperanza, sin embargo George Lucas no fue bueno para esto, al menos que vieras las 3 películas de la trilogía de precuelas completas y aún así, necesitarías ver las series o miniseries para tener contexto de todo el desastre que ocurre en el episodio 3, porque de hecho eso es el lo que es, el episodio 3 como película de Star Wars como narrativa es el punto de inflexión de todo la trama, es donde todo se cae, todo se rompe, todo se pierde, y empieza el mal tomar forma, pero esto no lo entiendes si no tienes el contexto de por y como, si lo ves como primera vez, solo verás a un chamo que está frustrado porque no lo dejan ser Maestro y tener a su esposa e hijo o no la ayudan, que ojo, si, en parte sí, pero Anakin ha sufrido más que eso jajaja.
Aunque sea una película de Star Wars y está de por sí, en mis favoritas, no está salvadas de mis críticas, por ejemplo en actuaciones está muy pobre sobre todo de los protagonistas, Hayden Christensen si cuento sus actuaciones la mayoría fue fruncir el ceño y mirarte con cara de odio o de enamorado nada más, sin embargo él mismo admite que para ese entonces él estaba aprendiendo actuar, lo cual no le quita valor a su trabajo, por otro lado, Natalia Portman que es una actriz con bastante que dar, incluso antes de salir en Star Wars siempre he dicho que en todas o en la mayoría de las películas ella se luce, menos aquí, porque aquí, solo sabe o mirar con tristeza, alegría o decir “te amo ani” y ya, o sobre actuar de manera exagerada, lo cual a veces no entiendo porque como digo, es Natalia Portman y no estamos hablando de alguien que no sepa, pero bueno. De las actuaciones que pudiese rescatar de esta película son las de Samuel L Jackson y Ewan McGregor
Ahora, porque a los fans de Star Wars nos gusta mucho está película pese a los vacíos argumentales y actuaciones, ps porque si miramos la narrativa, la película está llena de sentimientos de una construcción que si bien, costo y cuesta entenderla cuando eres nuevo, toma sentido, cuando comienzas a ver Star Wars, entiendes el personaje de Anakin, los clones, la guerra, la república, a los demás personajes, y ves que todo eso se va a tomar un camino oscuro o van a morir en el episodio 3, es algo desgarrador pero a la vez poético. Por otro lado, es una de las mejores películas que tiene duelos de sables de luz, con las mejores bandas sonoras, tomando en cuenta que se grabó en el 2005, los combates todavía ponen a uno de piel de gallina cuando comienza el duelo entre Anakin y Obi-Wan, ya que es algo decisivo para la historia y de verdad que allí no escatimaron en efectos.
Y bueno, de verdad para mí fue una verdadera obra y logró ver está película en la pantalla grande, ese Omar de 9 años viendo Star Wars por primera vez, y que le empezó a gustar hasta el sol de hoy, está súper contento. Have you ever had someone walk up to you and ask for an anime recommendation? Maybe they see you always focused on your device, binge watching anime, and out of the blue, they get interested. What is the first thing you think of when picking an anime for them? A gripping plot? Romance? Non-stop action or a well-developed character? There are so many things to consider. For me, it is the length of the anime and the plot. I want something that won’t overwhelm or bore them, and at the same time, something that'd keep them hooked from the beginning to the end. When it comes to non-anime fans, I am always very careful. You don’t want to scare them off with a 520-episode anime like Naruto, One Piece, or Bleach. Introducing someone to anime is just like teaching someone how to drive a car, you don’t start on an express road, you start slowly in a secluded place.
What is your go-to anime when someone asks for an anime recommendation? For me, it is Mashle. Mashle is one of the anime that brought me back to the anime world and made me an otaku again. I grew up watching Naruto and other old anime. However, it got to a point where I stopped watching anime completely. My memories are flawed and I don’t remember why I stopped, but it is probably because our TV got faulty, and I didn't have a cell phone at the time. I got back to watching anime in 2022 when a friend sent me Mashle. I got interested in it because it was just 12 episodes and the first one grabbed my attention.
Mashle is set in a world where everything revolves around magic—literally everything. People are treated based on the amount of magical power they have. Meaning, magic dictated power and status. In this world, there's a boy named Masle Burnedead who has no magical power. Imagine living in a world where you are different. Mashle lives with his adoptive grandfather who picked him up when he was a baby. Mashle’s grandfather raised him like he'd raise his kid. Despite not having a single drop of magical powers, Mashle works out everything and has trained his body to be machine-like. Mashle stays in the woods with his grandfather, working out and eating cream puffs. He knows if the world discovers his secrets (that he doesn't have magical powers), they'd come for him.
Soon enough, the world finds out about his secrets. Mashle is forced to attend Easton Magic Academy with the sole goal of becoming the Divine Visionary. How will someone without a single drop of magic thrive in a school for those with magic? How will Mashle Burnedead become a divine visionary despite not having magical powers? Mashle continues to work out, and one way or the other, he finds a way to survive in Easton Magic Academy.

Christopher Nolan’s 2017 war epic Dunkirk has earned a reputation that was quite enviable at the time of premiere. On one hand, it was the work of a creator of popular blockbusters whose name could effectively serve as a promotional poster; on the other hand, it is the work of an artist who has never compromised his talent in conflict with studio executives, and thus enjoyed the status of a critics’ favourite. It was therefore unsurprising that each new Nolan film was heralded as a potential cinematic event of the year and likely Oscar winner. However, the experience teaches us that even the best could make mistakes, and that propaganda machinery and the immense enthusiasm of fans and critics (who often did not even acknowledge themselves as fans) frequently create “hype” that even the most talented people could not justify. Dunkirk, 2017 war epic, which was hailed a “masterpiece” and “the best war film ever made,” could represent one such example.
The title of the film means nothing if you aren’t a native English speaker. The reason for this can be found in the fact that the city is far more familiar to the world under its native, or French, name, Dunkerque. In the spring of 1940, it became the site of one of the most significant and spectacular events of World War II. A few months after its outbreak, after the Allied, mainly French, forces missed the opportunity to end it immediately when the entire German Wehrmacht was occupied with the invasion of Poland, and after the war on the Western Front was known as the “Phoney War,” a period during which nobody attempted any offensive. This changed when Germans finally launched their own. Thanks to the criminal incompetence of the French high command, they managed to surprise the allies with a tank breakthrough through the seemingly impassable Belgian Ardennes forests, breaking the Allied front within a few days and pushing to the English Channel. At this time, the British expeditionary forces found themselves cut off from their French allies, and the entire remaining part of the land in northern France, where Dunkirk remained the only port from which the British could evacuate back to Britain. Due to the absolute superiority of the Germans on land and in the air, many doubted in this operation, but the British, despite the devastating attacks of the Luftwaffe, managed to extract the majority of their forces – over 300,000 soldiers. Although they left most of their equipment and although the French capitulated a few weeks later to the Germans, this evacuation gave the British a strong moral boost to continue the war against Hitler, and later, propaganda and national mythology turned this defeat into a victory, much like the Serbians during their WW1 retreat through Albania or the Chinese Communists during the Long March.
Dunkirk follows three seemingly unrelated stories, which provide a perspective of the people who were involved in this operation on land, at sea, and in the air. The first describes a week during which Tommy (played by Fionn Whitehead), a young soldier of the British Army, desperately tries to reach safety on the other side of the English Channel, encountering many dangers along the way. The second segment takes place during one day, in which Mr. Dawson (played by Mark Rylance), a civilian owner of a small boat, along with his son and his friend, sails across the English Channel to join the evacuation. The third segment shows a hour during which Farrier (played by Tom Hardy), a RAF pilot with his Spitfire fighter aircraft and a group of wingmen, tries to protect the British ships from German bombers.
Speculations about Nolan’s chances to win the Oscars with Dunkirk were usually based on the fact that his theme is close to the heart of what is known as the “Greatest Generation” (i.e., the veterans of World War II), who still made up a significant part of the Academy’s voting bloc. However, those who watch the film themselves will conclude that Nolan has invested much more creative effort into it than usual. This can be noticed not only in the film’s visual polish and attention to minor details, but also in the effort to be different from the typical summer blockbusters. This difference can also be seen in the conscious decision to not spend a hundred million dollars on CGI, so Dunkirk today looks like a “old school” war spectacle, like The Longest Day or the Battle of the Atlantic – thousands of British soldiers on the beaches are played by real extras in British uniform, warships that are actually borrowed from museums, and the aircraft are real (with a little creative touch because it is rare for such aircraft as Ju 87 Stuka, Heinkel He-111, “Spitfire,” and “Me109” to be in operational condition after seventy years). However, critics will be more impressed by the fact that Nolan, after Memento, once again plays with non-linear narrative, i.e., that the three stories do not happen simultaneously, even though they are shown at the same time, so the viewer can follow parallel what happens with the pilots in an hour, with the ships in one day, and with the land-based protagonist a few weeks before. Part of the critics have declared this approach revolutionary. Majority of the audience, on the other hand, will be confused; those who have more experience with unconventional cinema will relatively quickly understand this “detail” and won't need much time to conclude how everything will ultimately fit together and how the entire story will end.
In addition to non-linearity, Dunkirk should differentiate itself from traditional blockbusters by a non-romantic portrayal of World War II, which is almost entirely devoid of heroic and patriotic clichés, and the battle on the northern French beaches is portrayed as a disaster film, where everything is reduced to mere survival. This is the only goal for which the young protagonist and his friends are dedicated, and because of this, they are ready for numerous non-heroic, and at times morally questionable, actions for which their loved ones suffer, sometimes in rather unpleasant ways. Although the PG-13 rating has ensured that the depiction of drowning and explicit bloodshed is avoided (which is why Dunkirk is much “milder” than Saving Private Ryan), the overall tone is much darker. This, on one hand, is not surprising, considering that the film portrays a battle that the British and the Allies lost (and which took place at a time when the Americans were still neutral and the Second World War was still considered merely as a way to get out of the Great Depression by producing weapons). The Battle of Dunkirk was also linked to numerous controversies around the relationship between the British and the French allies, the latter blaming the British for leaving them stranded on the beaches. This aspect, which was later used by Hitler and Vichy propaganda, also appears in the film and is part of the plot. The Germans, on the other hand, almost never appear in the film, with an exception of aircraft and a few scenes at the end; until that time they are an almost abstract, invisible enemy who sends bombs, mines, and torpedoes from afar to the protagonist.
A realistic and dark portrayal of the war, which Hollywood, unlike later conflicts, has declared “good,” is, on the other hand, compromised by the fact that the story ends with a military catastrophe and simple survival, which is still portrayed as a triumph of Good over Evil. This happens in the scene where the desperate masses of British soldiers waiting on the beaches finally arrive hundreds and thousands of small civilian boats whose owners voluntarily risked danger to “bring our boys home.” The heroic act further emphasizes the shift of Hans Zimmer’s music to patriotic tones and the use of motifs from the classical composer Edward Elgar (in a similar way used in the historical film Elizabeth from 1998), but most importantly, the reactions of two characters – the Royal Navy Commander Bolton (Kenneth Branagh) and the British Army Colonel Winant (James d’Arcy) – who are in charge of the evacuation on the only remaining dock in the port, and whose discussions serve as exposition to the uniformed public, bringing broader political and military context to the events the film. The two actors are exceptionally diligent, but they seem as if they have wandered from another film, or that their job could have been much cheaper for the traditional narrative.
The final scenes also seem like those of another film, providing additional context with the famous speech by the British Prime Minister Churchill about continuing the fight against Hitler, which should give some sort of deeper meaning to everything the audience has seen before. Because of all this, it is difficult to avoid the impression that Nolan used this “elevated” detail only to justify his big exercise in style. In this sense, Nolan does not seem significantly different from Joe Wright, who had portrayed the chaos on the beaches of Dunkerque a decade ago in an exceptionally evocative and spectacular, but perhaps not the most necessary scene of his film Atonement. And it is even more difficult to evade the impression that the masters of the "old school" war epics, such as Steven Spielberg or Veljko Bulajić, would have told the story of Dunkirk much better in a traditional and less pretentious way. Although the quality is far above what was typically offered in 2010 cinemas and although some of its ambitions were met, Dunkirk seems like a great victory of style over content.

It's so easy to access movies these days because of the Internet. From the comfort of your home you can access hundreds of movies from almost anytime in history. And this ease has existed for many years now, so you know what that means?
That means a lot of us have watched almost everything out there that might interest us! We have searched by genre, by director, by actor, by IMDB top movies, etc. Some of us born in the 1990s and 2000s have even gone back to search for movies from the 80s and further back.
And we have watched about everything we can think of that we might like and these days getting excited about something to watch doesn't happen very often, instead we are mostly waiting for the next releases that movie companies have slated for months and years that would take too long to come.
That's kinda how it has been for me so anytime I come across something new that excites me the feeling is always quite overpowering. Lol. And I've just come across something now!
We all must've read or watched stories about the French Musketeers. What I've watched about them was from very long ago so I don't recall how many or some good details I can use in differentiating them. But I know they were all good and that it is always entertaining to watch something from the lore, with names like d'Artaganan, Athos, Porthos and Aramis.
I'm also a big fan of movies set in the medieval times with guys speaking the old British accent, riding around with swords and horses talking about honour and duels and that kind of thing. Always entertaining. That's why GOT is my favourite film of all time!
Bumping into this The Musketeers today has really got my juices flowing 😅.
One of the major things I look out for is how well choreographed the fight of such movies are, and this one is adequate, it doesn't reek of no B-movie stuff. The acting is great too, the actors don't seem unworthy of attention. The setting and storyline has been convincing so far.
And they have 3 whole seasons for me to watch!!
Looks like I'm really in for a treat!
There's a little fear, though, a lot of movies do so well in the Season 1 and when you watch the subsequent seasons you just find out it is garbage that was made to just take advantage of how well the first season did. I hope this wouldn't be one of such cases. In the meantime let me enjoy this Season 1 thoroughly 😅. You can join me if you want 🌚.
