I woke up this morning with an urge to watch a good movie in the theatre, and saw that *Karate Kid: Legends* was still playing. Sunday morning movies are starting to become my thing, and I haven't been disappointed in any of the films I've watched so far.
I'm a '90s kid who was introduced to the series through The Next Karate Kid starring Hilary Swank, but still enjoyed the Karate Kid movies of the '80s when I got around to them. I also remember watching The Karate Kid with Jayden Smith and being amazed at how good he was in that movie. And I just can't say enough about my love for Jackie Chan. I've got all the love, respect, and appreciation that an average guy can have for an entertainer when it comes to Jackie Chan; I'll support anything he's a part of.
Although I hadn't seen any of the Cobra Kai series due to not having Netflix, it wasn't at all necessary to enjoy the Karate Kid: Legends movie. They kept the feel of the movie consistent with the feel of the previous movies and gave you everything you'd expect from a Karate Kid movie. Karate, some Kung-fu, cool senseis with interesting personalities, a little teenage puppy love story, bullies, a concerned parent, a tournament... Literally EVERYTHING you'd expect from a Krate Kid movie.
But although the movie is exactly what you expect, they put it all together to make for a solid movie that leaves you feeling good by the end. The comedy throughout the movie landed without them trying too hard to be funny or being corny. They got their point across with the moral messaging without being annoying about it. And the fight scenes we pretty good, outside of the boxing match, but that's probably because I watch way too much boxing.
The acting was really good too. Everyone was perfect in their roles. Jackie Chan was cool as Mr. Han. I also liked how they paid tribute to Jackie Chan with some of the comedy they put in the fight scenes. Much respect to them for that. The new Krate Kid, Li, is dedicated to his craft, witty, and talented as can be. Li also has his flaws and things that he has to work through in the movie as well, which helps to make him feel real. The girl, Mia, was funny and on top of things. And the guy who played the bully, Connor, did a good job of playing an asshole of a character...
The story throughout the movie was solid. Each character had mistakes that they had made in the past that they had to overcome, and leaned on another character in the movie to learn, grow, and overcome those mistakes. Some had to decide to relocate to support their friends, some characters had to realize what they had in the people in front of them, and some characters had to decide to fight for what was important to them. But they all approached their problems and overcame them in believable ways. My only critique about the story is that I feel that they kind of rushed us into the tournament at the end, but other than that, it was an entertaining story.
But overall, Karate Kid: Legends was a solid movie. I was entertained throughout the entirety of the movie. It was a good coming-of-age drama that used karate and kung-fu to help bring the characters together and help them overcome their challenges. Everything you'd expect from a movie in the Karate Kid series, delivered at a high level. I give the movie Karate Kid: Legends a rating of:

When we are tired of all the unfortunate events in life, we say we are fed up. It's a word to express annoyance and obstinacy and it's the perfect title for the story of this film.
A few weeks ago I had seen reviews of Harta in the community that I avoided reading to avoid making me spoiler, I had it on my list, but a message from @mamaemigrante where she told me how hard it was to see that movie, that made her cry a lot was the push I needed to put aside my activities and watch it at that moment, and it's not that I wanted to feel bad, but curiosity was killing me plus I wanted to see it before commenting the post to my friend.
There are several movies with this title, but it is not a remake, starring Taraji P. Henson and released this 2025. It begins with a mother who starts her day exhausted, wakes up tired and sore from a bad night with her little girl, running because she has to take the girl to school and go to work, they show the apartment where they live and the atmosphere is depressing, dirty, and uncomfortable from there the direction prepares you for what is coming a few minutes of great tension and discomfort.
Janiyah the main character is under a lot of pressure, she owes months of rent, her girl needs money to eat lunch at her school and stop being harassed for eating the subsidy food and no matter how hard she tries she doesn't solve her problems, she is alone and without any support, she has two jobs although they show only the one at the supermarket where she is exploited and mistreated by the supervisor, when I saw this situation and the place where she worked it was impossible not to think of Marluy (@mamaemigrante) 🥲.
As I watched Janiyah arrive at work being cordial and polite, despite her mental state of stress and physical exhaustion, I thought about how much pressure she can take. While at work she receives a call from the child's school and requests a leave of absence which she almost didn't get, she begged for that favor in addition to asking for her salary she was owed and only got two hours of leave, upon arrival more painful and inexplicable things began to happen, social security takes away her daughter, she returns to her job where she is fired and this is the beginning of a series of events one worse than the other.
Without a job, without her daughter and without a place to live because they took away her things what else could happen to her, but many worse things happened, she crashed into a policeman who swore revenge and everything went dark for her. This movie reminded me of "A Day of Rage" because even the calmest people who can withstand pressure can explode.

Cuando estamos cansadas de todos los eventos infortunados de la vida, decimos que estamos hartas. Es una palabra para expresar molestia y obstinación y es el título perfecto para la historia de esta película.
Hace algunas semanas había visto reseñas de Harta en la comunidad que evite leer para no hacerme espóiler, la tenía en lista, pero un mensaje de @mamaemigrante donde me contaba lo duro que fue ver esa película, que la hizo llorar mucho fue el empujón que necesitaba para dejar de un lado mis actividades y verla en ese instante, y no es que deseaba sentirme mal, sino que la curiosidad me estaba matando además quería verla antes de comentarle el post a mi amiga.
Existen varias películas con este título, pero no es un remake, protagonizado por Taraji P. Henson y publicada este 2025. Inicia con una madre que comienza su día agotada, se levanta cansada y adolorida por una mala noche al lado de su niña, corriendo porque tiene que llevar a la niña al colegio e irse a trabajar, muestran el apartamento donde viven y el ambiente es deprimente, sucio, e incómodo desde ahí la dirección te prepara para lo que viene unos minutos de mucha tensión e incomodidad.
Janiyah el personaje protagónico está bajo mucha presión, debe meses de alquiler, su niña necesita dinero para almorzar en su colegio y dejar de ser acosada por comer la comida de subsidio y por más que se esfuerza no soluciona sus problemas, ella está sola y sin ningún apoyo, tiene dos trabajos aunque muestran solo el del supermercado donde es explotada y maltratada por el supervisor, cuando vi esta situación y el lugar donde trabajaba fue imposible no pensar en Marluy (@mamaemigrante) 🥲.
Mientras veía a Janiyah llegar a su trabajo siendo cordial y educada, a pesar de su estado mental de estrés y cansancio físico, pensaba cuánta presión puede llegar a soportar. Estando en su trabajo recibe una llamada de la escuela de la niña y solicita un permiso que casi no le dan, rogó por ese favor además de pedir su sueldo que le debían y solo consigo dos horas de permiso, al llegar comenzaron a pasar cosas más dolorosas e inexplicables, la seguridad social le quita su hija, regresa a su trabajo donde es despedida y este es el comienzo de una serie de eventos uno peor que otro.
Sin trabajo, sin su hija y sin un lugar para vivir porque le sacaron sus cosas que más le podía pasar, pero sucedieron muchas cosas peores, chocó a un policía que juró vengarse y todo se oscureció para ella. Esta película me hizo recordar “un día de furia” porque hasta las personas más calmadas y que aguantan presión pueden explotar.
Throughout the movie there was tension, suspense, and drama even though I didn't cry I felt a lot of feeling for Janiyah, I wanted the universe to reward her for being a good woman, for her pain to end and somehow it did.
There were a lot of things I liked and some things I didn't, but overall it is good and I recommend it.
Positive remarks
The makeup was very congruent with the story, from the beginning to the end its protagonist was disheveled, sweaty and disheveled, in keeping with what the character was going through.
Taraji P. Henson and co-star Sherri Shepherd's performances were excellent, conveying genuine emotions and connection. Their characters exemplified empathy and sincerity, necessary values in difficult times.
Negative comments
I feel that they damaged the beautiful message of empathy that this drama had with a lot of racism, let me explain. A large percentage of all the actors in this movie are black, and they show that all of them are good, they have strong, traumatic life stories and on the contrary the few actors with white skin, their characters were the bad guys who wanted to hurt black people. From the beginning they gave a message of confrontation between races, and not all black people are good and have a life of suffering and not all white people are bad. I disliked watching this, I didn't see any sense in it and on the contrary it detracted from the plot of the movie.
If you decide to watch Fed Up, be aware that it is not a movie to relax, it has a shocking ending and is likely to make you cry. It is not a movie I want to repeat, I don't consider it bad, it has a final message that made me think about my reality and I raised a prayer to God to give me comfort and strength for when I have to live that same experience.

Durante toda la película hubo tensión, suspenso, y drama aunque no lloré sentí mucho sentimiento por Janiyah, quería que el universo la recompensará por ser una buena mujer, que su dolor terminará y de alguna forma así sucedió.
Hubo muchas cosas que me gustaron y otras no, aunque en líneas generales es buena y la recomiendo.
Observaciones positivas
El maquillaje fue muy congruente con la historia, desde el inicio hasta el fin su protagonista estuvo desaliñada, sudada y despeinada, acorde con lo que vivía el personaje.
La actuación de Taraji P. Henson y de la coprotagonista Sherri Shepherd fueron excelentes, transmiten emociones genuinas y mucha conexión. Sus personajes dieron ejemplo de empatía y sinceridad, valores necesarios en momentos difíciles.
Observaciones negativas
Siento que dañaron el mensaje bonito de empatía que tenía este drama con mucho racismo, me explico. Un gran porcentaje de todo los actores de esta película son de raza negra, y muestran que todos ellos son buenos, tienen historias de vida fuerte, traumáticas y por el contrarios los pocos actores de piel blanca, sus personajes fueron los malos que querían hacerle daño a los negros. Desde el inicio dieron un mensaje de confrontación entre razas, y ni todos los negros son buenos y tienen vida de sufrimiento ni todas las personas blancas son malas. Mirar esto me desagradó, no le vi sentido y al contrario le resto al argumento de la película.
Si decides ver Harta, ten en cuenta que no es una película para relajarse, tiene un final impactante y es probable que te haga llorar. No es una película que quiera repetir, no la considero mala, tiene un mensaje final que me hizo pensar en mí realidad y elevé una oración a Dios para que me dé consuelo y fortaleza para cuando me toqué vivir esa misma experiencia.

Esta tarde, vi una película que me transportó a la Francia del siglo XVIII, titulada Chevalier: Pasión y Libertad, una cinta del año 2022 que fue dirigida por Stephen Williams. Se trata de un drama biográfico que intenta rescatar la fascinante y exótica vida de Joseph Bologne, conocido también como Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Todo un virtuoso violinista, compositor y además esgrimista, conocido como el “Mozart Negro”. La película, cumple con su objetivo de llevarnos de la mano, mediante el uso de una narrativa emocionante, que fue genialmente combinada con los más pintorescos retratos de la Francia prerrevolucionaria. Abordando las tensiones raciales y sociales de esta época, aunque como decía anteriormente, si rebuscas un poco más en la veracidad de los hechos históricos, descubrirás que nos es del todo fiel.
This afternoon, I watched a film that transported me to 18th century France, entitled Chevalier: Passion and Freedom, a 2022 film directed by Stephen Williams. Sin embargo, este largometraje logra destacarse como un claro homenaje, a una figura que fuera llevada al anonimato, como si la hubieran borrado totalmente en los hechos de la historia. La cinta se inspira en la vida real de Bologne, hijo ilegítimo de una esclava africana con un terrateniente francés, logrando ascender en la élite parisina, gracias a su talento musical y habilidades en la esgrima. Talento musical que es de cierta manera sobreelevado en el comienzo de la película, cuando supuestamente recrean un duelo musical a violines, contra nada más y nada menos que Mozart. Este duelo ficticio, entre otras libertades creativas, deja a entrever que la película desea ser más una propuesta cinematográfica accesible, que llevar al pie de la letra los eventos que marcaron su lucha personal contra el racismo y la desigualdad.
However, this feature film manages to stand out as a clear homage to a figure who had been rendered anonymous, as if he had been completely erased from the facts of history. The film is inspired by the real life of Bologne, the illegitimate son of an African slave with a French landowner, who managed to rise among the Parisian elite thanks to his musical talent and fencing skills. Musical talent that is somewhat heightened at the beginning of the film, when they supposedly recreate a musical violin duel against none other than Mozart. This fictional duel, among other creative liberties, hints at the film's desire to be more of an accessible cinematic proposition, than to take to the letter the events that marked his personal struggle against racism and inequality.
El elenco de la película es uno de sus puntos fuertes, destacando Kelvin Harrison Jr. quien ofrece una magistral interpretación encarnando a Bologne, logrando transmitir su carisma, vulnerabilidad y su lucha interna por encajar en una sociedad que lo rechaza por su raza, transmitiendo tanto la pasión artística como su dolor por la exclusión. Complementan el reparto Samara Weaving, Lucy Boynton y Minnie Driver, quienes adornan la historia con actuaciones bastante sólidas, desglosando la belleza y el buen estilo de la época. En cuanto a la dirección de la película, tengo muy buena opinión, ya que considero que es bastante difícil poder lograr enganchar a las multitudes, mientras que a su vez se intenta recrear una historia que está basada en hechos reales, sin que se caiga en aburrimiento. Visualmente, se puede apreciar una buena alta gama de estilos de la época, que logra recrear esta emotiva historia de lucha por la igualdad. Chevalier: Pasión y Libertad es una cinta que, el que se aventure a verla, quedará encantado con el rescate de una historia olvidada. Los dejo con esta nueva propuesta cinematográfica y hasta un nuevo encuentro con la maravillosa magia del cine.
As for the direction of the film, I have a very good opinion, as I find it quite difficult to engage the crowds, while at the same time trying to recreate a story that is based on real events, without becoming boring. Visually, there is a good range of period styles, which manage to recreate this emotional story of the struggle for equality. Chevalier: Passion and Freedom is a film that, whoever ventures to see it, will be delighted with the rescue of a forgotten history. This is one sorry excuse for a horror movie, and it's also really annoying that it got a high rating (7 out of 10) on IMDb, which made me watch it. Well, like @Jhymi would say, I went through the painstaking moment to watch it so you don't have to.
THE PLOT
The movie started with an African American man walking on a lonely street late at night. He seemed to be lost and was seeking directions on the phone.
Suddenly, he was being followed by a car, which pulled over. While the man got scared and wanted to run to safety, he was overpowered and knocked unconscious by the person who came out of the car.
Next, we saw the man being dragged into the car by the faceless person, after which the car zoomed off.
The rest of the movie saw Chris, another African American male, go on a road trip with his girlfriend, Rose, to meet her family for the first time.
While it seemed like a fun trip, Chris was soon in for more than he bargained for, as his girlfriend Rose, who seemed harmless, together with her family, had something sinister plotted against him.
MY THOUGHTS
I tried really hard to not conclude this was one sorry excuse of a movie. I mean, it had so much prospect, so much suspense, that when it ended, I was like, Naah, this can't be it. Everything was just blown out of proportion, and the movie seemed abstract.
It's also not an original movie, as the concept of brain transplant and the acquiring of one's body and abilities by a different person has been seen before in the series Heroes.
One of the things I look for in movies is a reality I could relate to. Unfortunately, this movie didn't have much of that.
It also didn't make sense to me how one's mind would remain while the brain had been replaced with another. Unless, of course, it's not a full brain transplant, which is impossible.
On two occasions in the movie, we saw two African Americans whose brains have been replaced with those of Caucasians regain consciousness with the aid of a phone flash. Like I mentioned earlier, the brain has been removed. Where is the consciousness coming from?
Then there is the concept of hypnosis and trapping the mind of the victims before the brain transplant surgery. Could it be that during the hypnosis session the mind was separated from the brain? so as to aid the brain of the new occupant to effectively manage its new body?
Now that could be an interesting concept, but again, without the brain, where would the mind of the original owner be stored in the body? Well, in the movie they called it the sucken place, which, as we saw, Chris falls into after being hypnotized and paralyzed. Again, could the sunken place maybe be at the base of the spine or probably the gut? Well, as I analyze the movie, it seems more interesting in my head lol.
If it's any consolation, it's not a completely terrible watch, as it showed me more reason to practice detachment, especially letting go of our fears and childhood traumas, if any. I've come to notice that fears and traumas make us vulnerable. It pokes a hole in our subconscious that leaves us victims to predators and manipulators. As we saw in the movie, Chris holding on to a childhood trauma of his mother's death became a window for Rose's mom to gain control of his mind.
Maybe with a little more effort the movie might have been a good watch. I saw that they are proposing a part 2 that would probably contain a more detailed dive into the lives of Rose family, the Armitage. I feel that's one scene missing to make it at least an average watch because a brief box TV broadcast won't cut it, as it left us hanging.
I'm rating the movie 3/10. Really, it could have been better if the movie didn't seem forced. The acting was a bit ok, but the entire movie was just not it.
Hi everyone, I recently watched a series out of curiosity that has been getting quite a bit of traction and has been very well received by everyone. So, after several videos and a few curious viewings, I decided to watch "Lies, the Series." After a few good hours, I came up with a lot to say about it. So here we are to see what I liked and what I didn't like about this striking offering.
Hola a todos, recientemente estuve viendo por curiosidad una serie que ha estado teniendo bastante pegue y muy buena receptividad por todos, así que, luego de varios videos y una que otra vista curiosa, me dediqué a ver "Mentiras, la serie", y luego de unas buenas horas, muchas cosas salieron para decir referente a ella, por lo que acá estamos para ver qué me gustó y qué no de esta llamativa propuesta.
To begin with, "Lies, the series" is an adaptation by Prime Video Mexico of a play/musical that has been on the Mexican stage for several years, where the story is about how, after the death of Emmanuel Mijares, 4 women are mysteriously summoned to a mansion where all kinds of situations will happen between them and, above all, as the name of the series indicates, the lies that are behind everything that is happening and all this while as viewers we realize even before it happens some situations, as well as the occasional surprise.
Para empezar, "Mentiras, la serie" es una adaptación por parte de Prime Video México de una obra de teatro/musical que lleva varios años en el escenario mexicano, donde la historia trata de que, tras la muerte de Emmanuel Mijares, 4 mujeres son convocadas de manera misteriosa a una mansión donde entre ellas pasarán toda clase de situaciones y, sobre todo, como el nombre de la serie indica, las mentiras que están detrás de todo lo que va aconteciendo y todo esto mientras como espectadores vamos dándonos cuenta incluso desde antes que pase de algunas situaciones, así como una que otra sorpresa.
This series is set in the glorious 80s, where the context of many things was seen in a more ambiguous way and where we can not only delve into the story told, but it precisely allows it to be a good option for both young people and adults, since it contains many visual, musical, and stage elements that attract the viewer's attention. For example, while watching it (for the second time) at my grandmother's house, at first my uncles were somewhat reluctant, but precisely because they understood the subject matter, atmosphere, and music, after a while even my aunt was finding facts she already knew and singing the songs.
Esta serie está ambientada en los gloriosos años 80, donde el contexto de muchas cosas estaba visto de una manera más ambigua y donde podemos no solo adentrarnos en la historia contada, sino que justamente permite que sea una buena opción tanto para jóvenes como para adultos, ya que contiene muchos elementos visuales, musicales y de escenario que hacen que llamen la atención del espectador. Un ejemplo es que, mientras la veía (por segunda vez) en casa de mi abuela, al principio mis tíos estaban algo reacios, pero justamente al ver bien el tema, ambiente y música, al rato hasta mi tía estaba encontrando datos que ya conocía y cantaba las canciones.
And just speaking of music, through the 8 chapters, the series gives us classics like the iconic song "He Lied to Me" by Amanda Miguel, sung by Belinda, who, apart from being part of the cast, gives her personal touch to this song, making this, like the others shown and sung by the other members of the cast, have the perfect combination of yesteryear and adaptation so that each song becomes totally catchy, in addition to combining perfectly with the feelings that are transmitted at that moment, as well as the participation of Amanda Miguel herself performing the song and creating a unique moment in the entire plot.
Y justamente hablando de la música, a través de los 8 capítulos, la serie nos da clásicos como la icónica canción "Él me mintió" de Amanda Miguel, cantada por Belinda, la cual, aparte de formar parte del elenco, le da su toque personal a este tema, haciendo que este, como los otros mostrados y cantados por los demás integrantes del elenco, tenga la combinación de antaño y adaptación perfectos para que cada canción se vuelva totalmente pegadiza, además de que se combina perfectamente con los sentimientos que se transmiten en ese momento, así como la participación de la mismísima Amanda Miguel interpretando el tema y haciendo un momento único en toda la trama.
Another point that I liked, which I shared with my sister while we were watching the series, is the style that they give to each member and how specifically we can see in these 4 women who are the main part of the story a very individual and defined style in terms of their personality and stereotypes of the time (of course, although many of these remain), but they let us see from the personalities of these how they are marked even with representative colors, having from the well-known punk, religious, sexy style and even the sweetest and most modest, all this making each viewer can fully identify with something of the characters.
Otro punto que me gustó, el cual compartí con mi hermana mientras veíamos la serie, es el estilo que le dan a cada integrante y cómo en específico podemos ver en estas 4 mujeres que forman parte principal de la historia un estilo muy individual y definido en cuanto a su personalidad y estereotipos de la época (claro, aunque muchos de estos se mantengan), pero nos dejan ver desde las personalidades de estas cómo se van marcando incluso con colores representativos, teniendo desde el conocido estilo punk, religioso, sexy y hasta el más dulce y recatado, todo esto haciendo que cada espectador se pueda identificar de lleno con algo de los personajes.

Although something that I didn't like at all was the end of the plot, since in my opinion, being so explosive and having a strong vibe from the beginning, the ending seemed to me to have been stronger and had a better closure.
Aunque son 8 capítulos, me hubiera gustado ver más, ya que, aunque no he podido ver la obra original en la que está basada, sí pude ver que aún quedaba material por mostrar, pero algo positivo es que, aunque puede que haya mucha música e interpretación al tener este elemento de musical, no se hace pesada en absoluto para mirar tanto así que, como mencioné antes, la vi de corrido dos veces sin problemas. Aunque algo que sí no me gustó del todo fue en especial el final de la trama, ya que a mi parecer, al ser tan explosiva y tener una vibra fuerte desde el inicio, el final me pareció que debía haber tenido más fuerza y mejor cierre.

What is this film about?

El sabor de lo nuestro es una comedia romántica, entretenida y desde mi punto de vista muy bien lograda. Consta de diez capítulos y cada uno de ellos más emocionante que otro. Me encantó este K-drama no solo por su historia de amor sino también por todo el arte culinario que allí nos presentan. Me encanta la cocina por eso quizá sentí que esta hecha para mi.

I finished watching El sabor de lo nuestro. As many critics say, a recipe of love, tradition and second chances.
El sabor de lo nuestro** is a romantic comedy, entertaining and from my point of view very well done. It consists of ten chapters and each one of them more exciting than the other. I loved is K-drama it not only for its love story but also for all the culinary art that is presented there. I love cooking so maybe I felt it was made for me.
La miniserie sigue a un personaje arrogante dispuesto hacer cualquier cosa con la finalidad de lograr el éxito deseado. Al parecer no le interesa pasar por encima de quien sea sin importarle absolutamente nada. Pero, sin saber las vueltas que da la vida Han Beom-woo (protagonista), no lograr superar la humildad e inteligencia de Mo Yeon-joo, una chef apasionada y su verdadero amor en esta historia.
Rescato de esta miniserie el cómo lo que comienza como un choque de posición social, él rico, ella pobre; él, acostumbrado al éxito mientra ella, con su sencillez solo muestra al mundo el sabor auténtico de sus comida se transforma paso a paso en una base sólida para crear un imperio de sabor, humor, convivencia, amistad, empatía, amor y mucho más.
Nunca me había detenido a ver películas o series coreanas. A través de esta comunidad he leído el entusiasmo de los cinéfilos con respecto a estos film y por mucho que me habían enamorado hasta ahora es cuando me detuve a ver una.

I had never stopped to watch Korean movies or series. Through this community I have read the enthusiasm of cinephiles regarding these films and as much as I had fallen in love with them until now is when I stopped to watch one.
Valoro la belleza de cada lugar, los paisajes, vestuarios e incluso todo lo que tiene que ver con la gastronomía. La musicalización es también encantadora. Realmente muy buen trabajo. La miniserie no aburre, su toque de comedia la hace agradable. Los personajes se lucen con las locuras y travesuras, aportan humor jocoso. Bien, bien logrado no puedo negar que su narrativa es envolvente.
El sabor de lo nuestro es un título hermoso que me lleva a pensar que no solo se enfoca en la cultura gastronómica sino también en la mezcla o combinación de actitudes que se muestra a través de los protagonistas. Es como decir: lo mío, lo tuyo, lo nuestro, lo que nace de los dos.
Recomiendo esta miniserie con los ojos cerrados. Le doy 10 🌟 porque simplemente, lo merecen. Les aseguro que esta serie alimentó mi intención de seguir buscando films coreano. Si me preguntan, diré que no estamos teniendo muchas opciones para ver. Es una lotería conseguir una película buena jeje. Si saben de alguna no dejen de recomendarla. I appreciate the beauty of each place, the landscapes, the costumes and even everything that has to do with gastronomy. The musicalization is also charming. Really very good work. Tenía muchas dudas acerca de esta película, pero le di una oportunidad y aquí les traigo mi reseña de A Complete Unknown.
The film portrays Bob Dylan's life during the period when he was discovered and rose to fame, becoming a music star. This famous musician rose to prominence in the 1960s while making folk music, evolving his own style that ranged from folk to rock, and also delving into blues, gospel, soul, and other American genres. It also covers his romances with folk singer Joan Baez (Monica Barbaro) and Silvye Russo (Elle Fanning), which was a pseudonym used in the film to protect his girlfriend at the time, Suze Rotolo. These women were the inspiration for many of his hits at the time.
It is indisputable that Bob Dylan is a cultural catalyst and that there is a before and after him, even if you don't like his music. His lyrics and new music inspired many artists, and he is the only singer to have won a Nobel Prize for Literature. I'm not a big fan, but I do like his music, and I was curious to see this film. However, I feel that it fell short in many ways.
Without a doubt, I loved the musical part. Listening to those timeless songs, composed to be forever etched in history. But the story behind each of the lyrics was missing. I didn't see the tumultuous relationship between Bob and Joan anywhere, I didn't understand why Silvye was upset just because of a performance, there wasn't enough context, and this was a lack of script and direction.

Sin dudas, me encantó toda la parte musical. Escuchar esas canciones eternas, compuestas para quedar grabadas para siempre en la historia. Pero faltó la historia detrás de cada una de las letras. La relación tumultuosa entre Bob y Joan no la vi en ningún lado, no entendía por qué Silvye se molestaba solo por una actuación, no había suficiente contexto y esto fue una falta de guion y dirección.
I feel that the problem with biopics in general is that they want to worship the greats and touch on their lives superficially, without delving into the vices and attitudes of the artists. They believe it will tarnish their image. Therefore, these big productions are launched, and when they come out, they fall short. That's why, and making a fair comparison in the biopic genre, when Robbie Williams' A Better Man came out, it was better received by critics. It delved into the person behind the artist and exposed himself, without caring about any legacy beyond being real.
I felt that the film was incomplete. The only thing that saved the production was its actors, especially Chalamet's great performance.

Tengo la sensación de que todo lo que pasa con los biopics en general es que quieren rendirle culto a los grandes y tocar su vida superficialmente sin ahondar en los vicios y las actitudes de los artistas porque consideran que van a manchar su imagen. Por lo tanto, se lanzan estas grandes producciones y cuando salen a la luz se quedan cortas. Es por esto, y haciendo una justa comparación en el género de los biopics, que cuando sale a la luz A Better Man, de Robbie Williams, esta tuvo mejor acogida por las críticas. Profundizó en la persona que está detrás del artista y se expuso a sí mismo, sin que le importe ningún legado más allá del de ser real.
A mí me pareció que la película quedó incompleta. Lo único que salvó a la producción fueron sus actores, sobre todo la gran actuación de Chalamet.
As I mentioned earlier, the reason I watched this movie was because of Timothée Chalamet. This actor really got under Bob Dylan's skin; every gesture, every word, every song was an excellent performance. What finally convinced me of his acting was when I realized that I couldn't stand him and that I thought he was a jerk. When an actor convinces you, they provide you with some emotion, however slight or strong it may be, and that's when we know they've succeeded. He didn't do cosplay or caricature the character. He simply succeeded. And this performance led me to emphasize something I've known since I was very young, which is that musicians are definitely not people, and if they are men, even less so.
I don't know if it's appropriate for me to recommend this movie. To watch it, you must be either a fan of Bob Dylan's music or passionate about the arts and acting. If you just like to enjoy a movie, this one is not for you. It can become a little flat and boring in general; it doesn't provide strong emotions. It just is.

Como ya lo mencioné antes, la razón por la cual vi esta película fue por Timothée Chalamet. Este actor se metió bajo la piel de Bob Dylan, cada gesto, cada palabra, cada canción, era una excelente actuación. Lo que me terminó de convencer de la actuación fue cuando me di cuenta de que no lo soportaba y que me parecía un patán. Cuando un actor te convence, te provee alguna emoción, por muy leve o fuerte que sea, ahí es cuando sabemos que lo logró. No hizo un cosplay ni tampoco una caricatura del personaje. Simplemente, lo logró. Y esta actuación me llevó a recalcar algo que llevo conociendo desde muy joven y es que, definitivamente, músico no es gente, y si es hombre, menos.
No sé si es conveniente que recomiende esta película. Para verla debes ser o un fanático de la música de Bob Dylan, o un apasionado de las artes y de la actuación. Si solo te gusta disfrutar de una película, esta no es para ti. Puede tornarse un poco plana y aburrida en general, no provee de emociones fuertes. Solo es.

It's has been long I actually watched movies on my TV, it has always being on my Laptop and phones, but this Weekend was very different, I slotted one of my Old memory Card into my New Itel Android TV, I accessed some the files on the card, and then I was trying out some of the Movie, to my surprise the Experience was very Cinematic and Excellent.
One Movie really Got my attention and blew me off my feet yesterday, it was a Chinese action Movie titled Wolf Warrior 2.
I wasn't expecting much from the movie, all I taught i would see was some random Martial arts fights and stuffs but to my uttermost suprise the movie was More.
The Action is so Gripping and Well choreographed.
I know the start of the movie, I have seen in before, I never really knew he was this Good .
I couldn't help but be drawn into the world of Leng Feng,
The film is about a former special forces operative turned mercenary. The film's action sequences are intense and well-choreographed, with a standout opening scene featuring an underwater fight that sets the tone for the rest of the movie.
The film's action is non-stop, with Leng Feng taking on hordes of rebels and mercenaries in a variety of creative and brutal ways.
Let's take a look at the plot
the Movie starts with our star Leng Feng, a former Chinese special forces operative turned mercenary,finds himself in the midst of a brutal conflict in an African country. With his exceptional combat skills and unwavering patriotism, Leng Feng takes on the role of protector for a group of medical aid workers, fighting against ruthless rebels and arms dealers. As the fights escalate, Leng Feng's bravery and heroism are put to the test, showcasing the complexities of international intervention and the power of human resilience.
My Observation, Verdict and things I like about the Movie.
One thing I love about the movie is that it portrays Patriotism and Complexity in Relationships
The movie expresses human spirit, highlighting the importance of compassion, courage, and sacrifice in the most challenging of circumstances. Through Leng Feng's story, "Wolf Warrior 2" delivers a thrilling and emotional experience that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats.
However, as much as I enjoyed the film's action sequences, I couldn't help but think about the complex message it conveys. The film's patriotic themes are evident, and it's clear that the filmmakers are trying to make a statement about Chinese nationalism and pride.
But, as some critics have pointed out, the film's portrayal of Africans can be problematic, perpetuating stereotypes and reinforcing a "white savior" complex, these above are just my observations and verdict, others might not have any issue with that, I will look pass all those and Rate the Film a whooping: 4.2/5
In conclusion:
If you enjoy action movies with a strong protagonist and don't mind patriotic themes, "Wolf Warrior 2" is worth checking out.

Let me be honest with you—I didn’t mean to watch Final Destination. I travelled to ogun state to talk to one of my mentor about work, I decided to spend time with their family and eldest daughter asked if I'd watched “Final Destination” well, I said no but I've seen the cover a couple of times. She recommended it but hinted that it was scary too. I remembered my friends talking about it and how it messes with your head 😂
But trust me, I wanted to watch, not because I wanted to enjoy the movie but I wanted to know what's scary about it. That curiosity level tho🥹
So I clicked play—and in less than 10 minutes, I knew I wasn’t ready for what was coming.
The movie opens with a group of high school students who are waiting to board a flight to Paris on a class trip. One of these, Alex Browning is given a dramatic flash of intuition that the plane will explode in mid flight soon after takeoff. He goes berserk, creates a scene and gets thrown out of the flight with some other people. A few minutes later the plane literally blows up- just as he had seen it.
Chills, right?
That is when it becomes really twisted. When you think that they have beaten death, all of a sudden things begin to go horribly wrong. The survivors start dying, one after another in the most unforeseen and grotesque manner possible. However, it is not at random but in the order they were supposed to die on the plane. This way an ominous race against time starts, and the actual antagonist is not a man, but death itself.
As soon as the plane exploded, I was imbued with a weird sort of tension, such as enveloped me with a cold blanket. I was not able to keep still. My hands were cold, my chest was warm, thumping with nervousness. I was not in the ordinary way afraid. The movie did not contain any cheap thrills or jump-scares. The thing that made Final Destination scary was how feasible everything was.
The universe seemed to be on guard, waiting, waiting to whisk you back the minute you thought you could outwit it.
One scene that I still remember is one in which there is a bathroom with a slippery floor. The camera moved so slowly that you could feel the sweat on your brow… the creepy music that played under every step… I had the feeling that somebody watched me. Each of the twists was personal. Each death was too close to feel comfortable.
I wasn’t just watching. I was experiencing it.
The thing that impressed me most was not only the imaginative deaths (yes, they were bloody and innovative). It was the thought that destiny is not a straight line, it is a circle, which attempts to right itself. It will find a way no matter how smart or fast you are.
That is when I had to pause the movie at some point- just to breathe. It put me in thoughts: how many times in my life did it seem a near-miss? The moments when I had made the road crossing and a car passed by a few seconds later. The instances where I just canceled plans and then heard that something dreadful happened that night. Did those occur randomly? Or was I defrauding something that should have been happening?
Final Destination is not something that makes you scared, it penetrates you and gets you to doubt everything.
I did not go to sleep immediately after seeing the movie. I sat in bed and stared at the ceiling and reflected how quickly life can change in a heartbeat. One decision. There was one lag in action. A single switch of seat in a plane- and your life goes in another direction all together.
I learnt to appreciate what we usually assume, to wake up, to brush our teeth and walk out the door. We suppose that we are in control. But what should we do it we are not? And what would happen if we borrow each breath?
I do not want to sound morbid, but that is the strength of Final Destination. It smacks you in the face with the reality of death not to frighten you, but to awaken you. To make you remember that you do not live forever. That each day is a day.
Yet there is something empowering about that, as well. Since, in case death is watching, then perhaps life is also. Perhaps it is the rebellion to live.
The manner in which the movie hinted at the subtle clues is one thing I greatly liked. There was nothing by chance. A shake of wind, a toss of something, a shadow--it all led to something. It paranoid you, and amazed you. The authors did not rely on the horror gimmicks. They allow fear to take its course.
And the characters? They were not disposable adolescents. They were complex, frightened and had personalities. It was like watching someone (especially Alex, the main character) lose their hold on reality as they are trying so hard to hold it together. I sympathized with him. I was that.
Final Destination is not just your ordinary horror film. It does not run after you with a monster; it runs after you with the truth. The reality of not being in control altogether. That life is a thread and at times it breaks without any warning.
It teaches you something though, something quite beautiful, to listen to. To exist. In order to cherish time. It is a movie that makes you turn around and even call your loved ones to say that you love them.
And when you want gore, tension and mind games, you will love it. However, when you are emotionally sensitive or anxious about life and death, you might feel like waiting.
Me? I did not regret watching it. I believe I should have watched it. And since that in all its darkness, Final Destination also set a small fire in me, a fire to live, to feel, and not to spend even a moment of it.

Hello friends who love movies and TV. Today I want to give you a short story about a shark movie that I thought was pretty good, although you already know that this genre is my favorite, so I don't think I'm a good fit for the film. Hahaha
The black demon is named after a mythical creature that appears whenever it is invoked, according to the inhabitants of this town that I will talk about.
This film begins with two friends who are on an oil platform called the diamond belonging to a very prestigious and wealthy company, Nacho is submerged in the oil in the dark, placing a bomb, while Saiky is waiting for him on the boat, when suddenly both friends are devoured by a huge beast.
The next morning we meet a family that is heading to a fishing town called Bahía Azul, during the trip everything goes well, but when they enter the town they realize that it is neglected, poverty has reached it, there is a drought and it is very neglected. When they arrive at the hotel where they booked, they notice that it is closed, it looks like a ghost town. Paul looks for someone from the town to ask what is happening but no one answers him in a good way since Paul belongs to the company that has left the town to die, Inés the wife intervenes in the conversation since the townspeople are not happy with their arrival while they are heading to a bar to hang out.Paul receives a call from his boss pressuring him to go check the platform.
After leaving his and his children in a safe place, he heads towards the port to board a boat that will take him to the diamond platform. At the moment we see that the man who was supposed to call the platform to notify him does not do so. Paul continues on his way when he asks his boatman why the town is like this. He tells him that since they built the oil platform they woke up the black demon and that was the reason that all the families left that place. The boatman boy takes him halfway, using the supposed beast as an excuse. Since he has no choice, he continues the path alone until he reaches his destination.
On the other hand we see Inés and her two children who are waiting for her husband at the bar where he left them but a drunk approaches them with bad intentions and as a mother she finally came out to defend her two little ones but they run away although several people followed them. Without thinking twice they took a boat and headed towards where her husband was to the diamond.
Upon arriving at the Paul platform, Paul discovers that it is uninhabited, there is no one and he begins to call when, when two men receive him, threatening him with a gun because of the fear that they show, they immediately feel that a boat is coming and it is Inés and her children, but something is stalking them. It is the black demon. It is chasing them, desperate for Paul, and the two men on the platform begin to make noise to distract the shark. This has a positive effect;
Chato, one of the men who have been on the platform for a long time, tells Paul that the Black Demon is stalking them, and he does not know how long the place will remain standing. After looking for a way to communicate, they decide that they have to go down to the sea to fix the auxiliary line. When they go down they see, among oil and blood, a bomb that has 2 hours left to explode, while Yunior swims with all his strength to save himself from the shark. Chato, seeing what is happening, comes to the surface and saves himself, but Junior does not have the same luck, his lower part of the body is injured.
When they see what happened, everyone gets more scared and tries to find another solution. Chato tells Paul that everything is the fault of the company where he works and they end up fighting.
After a while they manage to restore the electricity, when Inés finds some documents signed by her husband confirming that they knew about the oil spill and did nothing.
He fights with him while his children watch them, although the little one who knew the story of the megalodon tried to calm them down and the gods put a small boat with all of them to ask for forgiveness from the God who was angry about the construction of the Diamond. The shark hits just below the child, throwing him into the water, the mother, upon hearing the screams, jumps in to save him and the father also dives from the other side to get the animal's attention to give him time to get the child out.
Everyone safe continues looking for a way to get out of there, the little one finds a raft, which they all repair to leave, Paul and Chato fix the radio giving him time to call for help, although in a few seconds it breaks again, and that is when it occurs to Paul that he is going to use the bomb to seal the oil leak and try to kill the megalodon.
He submerges at the same time that his family and Chato leave on the raft. When he goes down he realizes that the plan is not going to work so he calls Ines and the children to say goodbye, when he sees the shark approaching, when it eats it and is exploited next to the platform.
At that moment, a boat arrives from the town after the call for help, rescuing the survivors, just as it begins to rain after a long time.

Hola amigos amantes del cine y la TV. Hoy quiero hacerles una pequeña narracion de una película de tiburónes que me pareció bastante buena, aunque ya saben que este género es mi favorito, por lo que no creo ser medidor para el filme. Jajajaja
El demonio negro, es llamada así por una mítica criatura que aparece siempre que lo invocan, segun los habitantes de este pueblo del que hablaré.
Esta película comienza con dos amigos que estan en una plataforma petrolera llamada el diamante perteneciente a una empresa muy prestigiosa y adinerada, Nacho esta sumergido entre el petróleo en la oscuridad, colocando una bomba, mientras que Saiky lo espera en el bote, cuando de repente ambos amigos son devorados por una enorme bestia.
A la mañana siguiente conocemos a una familia que se dirige hasta un pueblo pesquero llamado Bahía Azul, durante el viaje todo va bien, pero cuando entran al al pueblo se dan cuenta que este está descuidado la pobreza ha llegado a él hay sequía y está muy descuidado al llegar al hotel donde reservaron notan que está cerrado tal parece un pueblo fantasma. Paul busca alguien del pueblo para preguntar qué sucede pero nadie le contesta de buena forma ya que Paul pertenece a la empresa que ha dejado al pueblo morir, Inés la esposa interviene en la conversación ya que los pueblerinos no están contentos con la llegada de ellos mientras se dirigen a un bar para pasar el rato. Paul recibe una llamada de su jefe presionándole para que vaya a revisar la plataforma.
Luego de dejar a su e hijos en un lugar seguro este se dirige hacia el puerto para abordar una embarcación que lo lleve hacia la plataforma el diamante de momento vemos que el hombre que debía llamar a la plataforma para avisar no lo hace. Paul continúa su camino cuando le pregunta a su barquero porque el pueblo está así este le cuenta que desde que construyeron la plataforma petrolera despertaron al demonio negro y esa fue la causa de que todas las familias hubieran de ese lugar. El chico barquero lo lleva hasta la mitad del camino poniendo como excusa la supuesta bestia. Cómo no le queda más remedio continúa el camino solo hasta llegar a su destino.
Por otro lado vemos a Inés y sus dos hijos que están esperando a su esposo en el bar donde los dejó pero un borracho se les acerca con malas intenciones y esta como madre al fin salió a defender a sus dos pequeños pero salen corriendo aunque fueron detrás de ellos varias personas. Sin pensarlo dos veces cogieron una embarcación y se dirigieron hacia donde estaba su esposo hasta el diamante.
Al llegar a la plataforma Paul Paul descubre que está deshabitada no hay nadie y comienza a llamar cuando cuando lo reciben dos hombres amenazándolo con un arma por el miedo que se ve que muestran al momento sienten que viene una embarcación y es Inés y sus hijos pero algo los acecha es el demonio negro, los está persiguiendo desesperados por Paul y los dos hombres en la plataforma comienzan a hacer ruido para distraer al tiburón, esto causa efecto positivo, el animal nada hacia otro lado dandole tiempo para llegar hasta donde esta su padre.
Chato, uno de los hombres que estan en la plataforma desde hace mucho le dice a Paul que el Demonio negro los acecha, y no sabe por que tiempo dure el lugar en pie. Luego de buscar una forma de comunicación deciden que tienen que bajar al mar para arreglar la línea auxiliar. Al bajar observan entre petróleo y sangre una bomba que le quedan 2 horas para explotar, mientras que Yunior nada con todas sus fuerzas para salvarse del tiburón, Chato al ver lo que pasa sale a la superficie salvandose, pero Junior no tiene la misma suerte, este es debirado la parte inferior del cuerpo.
Al ver lo ocurrido todos se asustan más, y yratan de buscar otra solución, Chato le dice Paul que todo es culpa de la empresa donde trabaja y terminan peleando. Después de un rato logran restablecer la electricidad, cuando Inés encuentra unos documentos firmados por su esposo confirmando que sabian del derrame de petróleo y no hizo nada.
Pelea con él mientras sus hijos los ven, aunque trataron de calmarlos el pequeño que conocía la historia del megalodon y los dioses pone una pequeña embarcación con todos ellos para pedir perdon al Dios que estaba enfadado por la construcción del Diamante. El tiburón golpea justo debajo del niño, lanzandolo al agua, la madre al escuchar los gritos se tira para salvarlo y el padre también se lanza por otro lado para llamar la atención del animal para darle tiempo de sacar al niño.
Todos a salvo continuan buscando como salir de ahi, el pequeño encuentra una balsa, la cual reparan entre todos para marcharse, Paul y Chato arreglan la radio dandole tiempo para pedir ayuda, aunque en pocos segundos vuelve a romperse, y es cuando se le ocurre a Paul que va a usar la bomba para sellar el salidero de petróleo y tratar de matar al megalodon.
Este se sumerge al mismo tiempo que su familia junto a Chato se marchan en la balsa. Al bajar se da cuenta que el plan no le va a funcionar por lo que llama a Ines y los niños para despedirse, cuando ve al tiburón acercandose, cuando se lo come siendo explotado junto a la plataforma.
En ese momento llegan del pueblo una embarcación tras la llamada de auxilio, rescatando a los sobrevivientes, al momento que comenza a llover después de mucho tiempo.
