Me encanta estar de nuevo por acá con una reseña sobre la película que más me ha hecho llorar en mi vida cinemática, y vaya que he visto bastantes películas.
Espero les guste y me den sus comentarios.
INTRODUCCIÓN:
Hace tiempo tomé la decisión de no ver películas que me afectasen negativamente, porque en ese entonces, siendo fanática del suspenso y del misterio solía sentirme ansiosa y con desespero; y aunque al tiempo me acostumbré a esas sensaciones, entendí que no era bueno para mi paz mental. Dije: “quizás pueda gustarme el drama”, y lograr que mis reseñas sobre películas fuesen un tanto reflexivas, que hablaran sobre las relaciones humana más que las atrocidades de un asesinato o de la perversidad que hay en la oscuridad.
Pensando que quizás sería más fácil hablar y digerir contenido emocional, me adentré en el mundo dramático, y qué equivocada estaba; ver películas de esta categoría es irónicamente otra perspectiva para contemplar la ansiedad y la oscuridad del ser humano. Y ahora no termino angustiada, al menos termino llorando. Es eso lo que se encuentra en las películas de drama.
En general, eso estaba bien para mi, podía soportar un par de lágrimas escapadas pero nada que invadiera tanto mi interior, como ahora lo ha hecho “Close”; con esta película no pude evitar emocionarme hasta que el par de lágrimas se volvieron cascadas, ¿cómo podría hacerlo? si parecía que se estuviera contando mi propio dolor.
LA PELÍCULA:
Esta película de origen belga fue estrenada para el año 2022, teniendo como director a Lukas Dhont, un joven de 34 años con una carrera bastante distinguida. “Close” fue protagonizada por Eden Dambrine, como Léo, y Gustav De Waele, como Rémi; ambos adolescentes de entre 17 y 18 años de edad pero de apariencia tan joven e inocente que sirvió para darles vida a niños de 13 años de edad en esta oportunidad.
TRAMA:
No disfruto mucho de contar sobre qué va la trama de las películas, pues en lo personal cuando leo las pequeñas sinopsis antes de verlas termino por perder el interés, y no quiero que pase eso con ustedes. Sin embargo, considero en esta oportunidad que "Close” tiene sus pro y sus contras, en el buen sentido. No podría recomendarla porque es como meter el dedo en la llaga para quienes han pasado por algo parecido (como yo), pero tampoco podría negarla porque esta película da a conocer algo que a muchos les cuesta entender.
La película nos cuenta sobre la amistad íntima e inocente entre dos niños que transitan hacia la adolescencia, donde comienzan a hacerse preguntas de lo que está bien y lo que está mal, experimentando cambios a veces bruscos sobre sus propias ideas, sobre su entorno, sobre su forma de actuar y sobre el mundo. Influenciados por la presión social comienzan a crearse una ruptura entre ambos, uno queriendo encontrar respuestas y otro queriendo evadirlas. Hasta que lo inesperado ocurre y ya no hay vuelta atrás.
OPINIÓN PERSONAL:
Lo que diferencia las películas de drama de las otras categorías, más que la historia es la apacibilidad con que se presenta la historia en las imágenes, tan parecidas a una pintura en la que observas sus colores, sus detalles, sus texturas, entonces aquí con imágenes en movimiento, observamos sus sentidos, el espacio y el tiempo que se le dan a las escenas para llevar las emociones del personaje al espectador.
“Close” no es una película para todo el mundo, como mencioné antes. Sugiero que es para quienes han presenciado en carne propia lo que en ella ocurre, ya que plasma con exactitud en sus escenas lo que es vivir un duelo, convirtiéndose en el recuerdo de quienes ya conocen cómo se siente. Para quienes no, podría parecerles un tanto lenta y aburrida… Pues sus escenas son largas, como dando tiempo a que el espectador viva el momento, sienta el peso del silencio y lo absurdo de continuar en la cotidianidad del mundo cargando un dolor tan rudo como si fuese algo ligero.
En ella se encuentran caminatas largas hundidos en los pensamientos y en los recuerdos, en la desesperación por querer llegar a tiempo donde ya no hay tiempo, de buscar una razón válida, entendible, del por qué ha pasado eso. Habla de lo que no se habla cuando alguien está roto, de la incomodidad silenciosa por no saber qué decir, por no saber cómo actuar, ni mucho menos cómo ayudar; no quedando más que la presencia, la compañía.
Los diálogos no son para nada largos, no necesitan serlo porque cuando algo duele no hay mucho que decir, más que sentir; por eso cuentan más las escenas largas, cuentan más los hechos que las palabras, porque en el dolor todo parece interminable, infinito, en apenas una mirada, una caminata, un pensamiento. El tiempo se distorsiona haciendo parecer un minuto como una hora.

INTRODUCTION:
Some time ago I made the decision not to watch movies that affected me negatively, because at that time, being a fan of suspense and mystery I used to feel anxious and with despair; and although in time I got used to those feelings, I understood that it was not good for my peace of mind. I said, “maybe I could like drama,” and make my movie reviews somewhat reflective, talking about human relationships rather than the atrocities of murder or the perversity in the darkness.
Thinking that perhaps it would be easier to talk about and digest emotional content, I wandered into the dramatic world, and how wrong I was; watching films in this category is ironically another perspective to contemplate the anxiety and darkness of being human. And now I don't end up distressed, at least I end up crying. That's what you find in drama movies.
In general, that was fine with me, I could handle a couple of escaped tears but nothing that invaded my inner self as much as “Close” has now; with this film I couldn't help but be moved until the couple of tears became waterfalls, how could I when it felt like my own pain was being recounted.
THE MOVIE:
This Belgian-made film was released for the year 2022, having as director Lukas Dhont, a 34-year-old with quite a distinguished career. “Close” starred Eden Dambrine, as Léo, and Gustav De Waele, as Rémi; both teenagers between 17 and 18 years of age but so young and innocent looking that it served to give life to 13 year olds in this opportunity.
PLOT:
I don't really enjoy telling what the plot of movies is about, because personally when I read the little synopses before watching them I end up losing interest, and I don't want that to happen with you. However, I consider in this opportunity that “Close” has its pros and cons, in a good way. I could not recommend it because it is like putting my finger on the sore spot for those who have gone through something similar (like me), but I could not deny it either because this film reveals something that many find difficult to understand.
The film tells us about the intimate and innocent friendship between two children who are going through adolescence, where they begin to ask themselves questions about what is right and what is wrong, experiencing sometimes abrupt changes about their own ideas, about their environment, about their way of acting and about the world. Influenced by social pressure, they begin to create a rift between them, one wanting to find answers and the other wanting to avoid them. Until the unexpected happens and there is no turning back.
PERSONAL OPINION:
What differentiates drama films from the other categories, more than the story is the peacefulness with which the story is presented in the images, so similar to a painting in which you observe its colors, its details, its textures, then here with moving images, we observe its senses, the space and time given to the scenes to bring the emotions of the character to the viewer.
“Close” is not a film for everyone, as I mentioned before. I suggest that it is for those who have witnessed firsthand what happens in it, as it accurately captures in its scenes what it is like to live a grief, becoming the memory of those who already know how it feels. For those who have not, it might seem a bit slow and boring... For its scenes are long, as if giving the viewer time to live the moment, to feel the weight of silence and the absurdity of continuing in the daily life of the world carrying such a harsh pain as if it were something light.
In it we find long walks sunk in thoughts and memories, in the desperation of wanting to arrive in time where there is no more time, of looking for a valid, understandable reason why this has happened. It speaks of what is not spoken when someone is broken, of the silent discomfort of not knowing what to say, of not knowing how to act, much less how to help, leaving only the presence, the company.
The dialogues are not long at all, they don't need to be because when something hurts there is not much to say, more to feel; that's why long scenes count more, facts count more than words, because in pain everything seems endless, infinite, in just a look, a walk, a thought. Time is distorted making a minute seem like an hour.
