Hello movie fans. Today we continue with more animated movies that I personally recommend from **Disney'**s best era. This time we will talk about a project that many will surely remember fondly for the incredible story it has, full of drama, comedy and fantasy in a style very typical of most of the films of this huge franchise. After several projects with which they experimented with the science fiction genre (these being "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" and "Treasure Planet"), Walt Disney Feature Animation decided this time to try with a story that will make us travel to the past, with a bit fantastic elements, but taking as protagonist genres such as drama and comedy, thus creating a work that deeply touched the hearts of a whole generation and that today is still remembered as one of the best hidden gems that exist in the world of animated films. A film worth watching for both children and the whole family. So stay and remember this animated work full of nostalgia.

    Plot

The film transports us to Alaska, just after the "Ice Age", where our primitive ancestors lived in tribes where they believed in spirits, which they think are the auroras that appear in the skies and are the creators of every living thing that exists in the world. Here we meet the Sitka brothers, Denahi and Kenai, who are hunters and members of the local tribe. Kenai, the youngest brother, is about to receive his totem, which is a necklace with a wooden figure of an animal. It represents what he must accomplish to be considered a man. Our enthusiastic hunter receives the totem of the "Bear of Love", which he does not like at all as he considers bears to be unfeeling creatures, as well as thieves and dangerous. Denahi, the middle brother, makes fun of his little brother for receiving this funny totem, but Sitka, the older brother, corrects him and tells him that everyone must find the purpose or meaning of each totem they have. Denahi has the "Wolf of Wisdom" totem and Sitka has the "Eagle of Guidance" totem.

One day, while the brothers are getting a basket of salmon for a ritual, a bear comes and steals them, as a consequence of not having guarded it well. Kenai, angered by what happened, goes and chases the bear, to which his two brothers go after him until they all reach a giant glacier. There, he fights the bear, but during the confrontation the glacier breaks and protecting his two brothers, Sitka sacrifices himself to fall with the bear to the bottom of the river. However, despite his sacrifice, the bear is still alive, causing Kenai to feel a deep hatred towards this animal, throwing away his totem and going after his brother's funeral in search of revenge. He manages to end the bear's life on top of the mountain where he was hiding. But it is at that moment that the sky is illuminated with auroras in the shape of animals and a huge eagle representing the spirit of his older brother Sitka covers Kenai and turns him into a bear. Denahi arrives at the place and seeing only him as a bear and not his brother, he thinks that his brother ended his life, which makes him confront him and decides to take revenge as well, trying to end his life. Now Kenai in bear form will have to flee for his life, while looking for a way to become human.

    Trama

    Trailer & Review

Below, I will leave you the trailer of the movie:

Again, this animated film is one of the few Disney films that I have seen since I was very young and from then until now I remember it with much affection and nostalgia. While it is not one of the best I have brought, it does have elements and a story that transcends time and makes it much better than many other films in this huge franchise. I remember when I was a kid I never missed a chance to see this animated feature film, with a very emotional introduction and a development that hooked you, as well as a soundtrack that made you hum it and that when you remember it now fills you with emotion and feeling. Very few movies have managed to transmit me as many things as this one has, that's why I share it with you and I might even give it a very generous rating at the end because of how nostalgic it is. This story has everything you need from an animated film that to date has been forgotten but has held up very well with the passage of time, with very valuable lessons for everyone who sees it.

Let's start talking about its story, which I consider to be one of its strong points. This time we meet three brothers, three hunters with very different personalities that stand out from each other. They all aim to become men and take care of their family, their tribe, but life will test them over and over again to see what they will become later on. At first, the older brother loses his life, but then becomes a guide for his younger brothers, who take different paths after a series of events. The younger brother sets out on a journey of self-discovery after taking revenge and killing a bear, the mother of a younger bear. He now has to discover what he has to change about himself in order to become a human again, while learning to be a bear with the help of the little orphaned bear, which goes against what he thinks and learned so far as a hunter and a human. However, the relationship he develops will help him see the animal world in a very different way.

On the other hand, the middle brother, Denahi, after seeing the loss of his brothers, hatred and revenge consumes him, causing him to change completely and go in search of revenge. Inheriting his younger brother Kenai's hatred for bears, he curiously goes in search of his brother in the form of a bear (thinking that the bear took Kenai's life). But in the end his path will lead him to suffer and regret not having a better relationship with his younger brother. The way the two brothers develop throughout the movie is something I love, as it shows you various facets and ways of thinking and reasoning of a person in different circumstances or situations. The way they teach us such deep feelings as love, hate and resentment is pretty much what makes this movie very special to me. While on the one hand we learn to have empathy for all living beings, including our "brothers from another mother", on the other hand we learn that living a life with hate and resentment is not good at all. Both planes of this story teach us many valuable things for every human being, whether we are siblings, fathers, sons, uncles, etc.

There is also the humor that this film has, which for its time is something normal to see in a Disney work, with jokes, funny dialogues and funny characters that brighten up the story a bit. The technical work that this film has, on the other hand, is another detail that stands out very well, with a curious mixture of traditional animation (2D) with computer animation (CGI or 3D). This mixture results in a beautiful work like this film, with incredible landscapes and scenery, beautiful to look at. The fluidity and details of each frame is evident in this work, as it was in the previous animated films I have brought you from Disney. Last but not least, there are the sound effects and soundtrack, which do their job very well. But, what stands out most of all is the soundtrack itself, which is made by the great Mike Mignola and the talented singer and composer Phill Colins. Without a doubt, it is one of those soundtracks that you will never forget, no matter how much time passes. With all this, I can assure you that this movie, even though it seems to be "for kids" is really for everyone, since it still impresses as much as it did at the beginning.

Personally, I give it a rating of 8.5/10 as far as the fantasy/comedy/drama genre is concerned.

    fuente/www.todocoleccion.net

A few years ago when I was a little younger I greatly enjoyed Disney classics and especially those in which animals were the protagonists. There are several examples of them but today's delivery corresponds to a film that was a collaboration between the production companies Walt Disney and Walt Disney Feature Animation of the year 2003.

Among its directors were Aaron Blaise and Robert Walker and its music was immortalized by the legendary Phill Collins, the same one who composed almost the entire soundtrack of Tarzan, another of the Disney legends that we will refer to later.

    Synopsis

Brother Bear or Hermano Oso in its Spanish translation is a 2003 American animated film. The film takes place in Alaska after the Ice Age, where members of the local tribe believe that all creatures that are created through the spirits, which are said to appear in the form of dawn. An old man tells his tribe about a story from when he was a young man, the story is about him and his two brothers (Kenai, the youngest brother, Denahi, the middle brother, and Sitka, the oldest brother) who return to his tribe so that Kenai receives his totem, a necklace in the shape of an animal. The particular animal he represents symbolizes what he must achieve to call himself a man. Both brothers receive their totem and Denahi receives one in the shape of a bear, which according to his culture means love and friendship. Annoyed, Denahi runs into the woods and in the midst of difficult Sitka circumstances, the older brother is attacked by a bear and dies before the eyes of his brothers. In their thirst for revenge, the two remaining brothers live their lives in different scenarios. On the one hand, Kenai becomes a bear and shares his life with Koda, a bear who lost his mother and was left helpless, and Denahi remains at the head of the tribe after having seen and understood the importance of love and friendship between siblings and family.

    Opinion

Personally, it was a wonderful project that perfectly combines scenes of love, sadness and loyalty in a very peculiar way so that today's boys and girls would be able to understand and enjoy. The special effects of the film showed the beauty of nature in a very special way and what struck me the most was how from a completely naturalistic atmosphere you can see life in a different way without overshadowing the story and taking away its unique shine.

    fuente/www.todocoleccion.net

Its soundtrack was accompanied by soloist Phill Collins who has legendary songs such as In My Heart You Will Live from Tarzán from 1999. This was another aspect that I loved and that gave life to the animated film in a very special way.

I don't really have many references about their actors but this doesn't mean that they didn't fulfill their objective; on the contrary, their voice was that essential part that reflected what life would be like if we could understand each other with them.

    Summary

In short, it was a very beautiful and special film suitable for all ages and available on all broadcast platforms, without a doubt a unique moment to enjoy with family and in the company of the little ones at home🏠.

Why did you consider Brother Bear one of the best Disney movies? Brother Bear is a film in which we see how a young man is lost and disappointed when he realizes the Gift he received was not what he expected, unlike the one his brothers get, he got a bear that represents love.

After a fight with a bear, he ends up killing it, causing the spirits to turn Kenai into a bear. His brother believes him dead and thinks that the one who killed him was the bear version of him, so they start his house to avenge the death of his brother.

Is it that good or do I get nostalgic? It has a pretty good introduction, sad, heartbreaking, they show us the connection between brothers and because Sitka's death is so significant for the brothers, since she was the guide for both of them, it is perfect to catch us.

The perspective of how animals feel when being hunted also seems great to me, when Kenai's brother was hunting him he felt the terror that he caused the animals, not to mention that it shows us that revenge never brings anything good and that it doesn't we can just slaughter animals for no purpose.

A rather curious detail is how they show us the terrifying bears at the beginning, that is to say, Koda's mother is given bears that are uncomfortable to see and then we see all the bears with a friendlier look, here they clearly represent how they see them Kenai before and after what happened to him.

This is a fairly adult story, it knows how to deal with every topic it touches, which, although it is softened with good jokes and comedy, clearly speaks of life and death, something that we sometimes treat as taboo and more so with children. In it we also see the importance of our family and that there is not only a blood family, since Koda and Kenai create a very strong bond, a bond of brothers, renouncing their human life to stay with him.

Here it reflects a bit on the different points of view of life, although we are living beings, each species has its world and its way of living, animals are pure beings that take care of their herd and human beings do not always seek to defend themselves, but to Sometimes taking over other species, Kenai ended up becoming a bear as punishment since he killed an animal unnecessarily, that is, his tribes honor animals a lot and only kill when necessary, that is, they fish to eat.

The soundtrack is one of the best, leaving us the iconic song "I'm on the move", the person in charge of the soundtrack was Phill Collins, the one we know perfectly well for also doing the Tarzan one, he does an incredible job and leaves us the best songs in movies This film is a great work of art that remains in our hearts, the support it has is not at all out of nostalgia.

    Plot / Trama

This beautiful animated film tells the story of 3 brothers named Kenai, Denahi and Sitka, who belong to a tribe that believes that all creatures are created by spirits. Kenai is the younger brother who is quite carefree, who, upon receiving his bear-shaped totem which symbolizes love, is not very amused since he thinks that bears are evil, so he chases a bear to take revenge for eating some fish and when he finds it he tries to kill it but he gets into trouble and puts his life in danger so Sitka sacrifices herself to save him. Kenai is quite affected by the bear and his thirst for revenge increases even more so he again chases the bear to kill it until he achieves it, but after this Kenai is turned into a bear by the spirits and Denahi believes that Kenai has died and believes that the bear that Kenai turned into is actually the killer so he sets out to chase it to death. Kenai then meets Tanana who is the old woman who delivers the totems in the tribe and explains that in order to become human again he has to go to the mountain where the spirits appear and ask them to turn him back into a human before disappear. Kenai ventures into the mountains and on the way discovers that he can understand the language of all animals, and on the way he meets Rutt and Tuke the moose, and also the little bear Koda who frees him from a trap.

Although at first Koda was annoying to Kenai and treated him obnoxiously, the bear tells him that he knows where the mountain that touches the lights every night is and offers to take him in exchange for him going with him to the salmon jump. which is where the bears eat salmon so they both leave and during the trip their relationship improves and they treat each other like brothers, on the way Koda tells him that his mother has disappeared and that he hopes to see her at the salmon jump. When they arrive at the Salmon Jump, Kenai sees how much fun the bears are having and how they all treat each other like family and live happily, which he soon begins to enjoy. During a game in which everyone has to tell a story, Kenai tells about his trip with Koda, who calls him "annoying" which makes Koda a little sad but then Kenai calls him "little brother" and he is happy, but then Koda tells about how he separated from his mother and that story makes Kenai discover that the bear he killed is really Koda's mother so he runs away in horror. Koda chases him and Kenai has no choice but to tell him the truth about what happened, which causes Koda pain and he runs off, so Kenai then ventures into the mountains alone, but once there he confronts Denahi who he tries to kill him and Koda goes to help him but when Denahi is about to do something to the little bear Kenai defends him by showing his love for him and Sitka intervenes turning him back into a human. Surprised Denahi hugs his brother again and Koda approaches him fearful but although he cannot understand it, he recognizes Kenai and hugs him and he understands that Koda needs him so with the support of his brother he asks to become a bear again to take care of Koda, and then he goes to live with the other bears. In the end it is discovered that the narrator of the story is Denahi, who says that his brother Kenai became a man by turning into a bear and that he taught him that love is very powerful, and he is absolutely right.

    My Opinion / Mi Opinión

I saw this movie for the first time when I was 13 years old and boy did I like it. I really liked the characters since in general they had a good development, I remember my favorites were the moose brothers who I remember arguing a lot but in the end they reconciled, I remember that they seemed very funny and tender. I also really liked Kenai, which I really liked the change he had during the movie since at first he really hated bears and didn't respect them, just like he didn't respect the totem that was given to him, which was love, but thank you to what happened, he finally understood the value and power of his totem and that is why he finally becomes a man by turning into a bear. And the fact that Denahi's character was the one telling the story I also really liked and found it very emotional. In general, the entire voice cast did an excellent job because each character was interpreted in an excellent way.

The animation is really good, with a fairly wide color palette and I really liked the environment and character design in general. Regarding the story, I would say that it is what I like the most since the way in which they give us that message about respecting the lives of all living beings and learning to live with them is very beautiful, I found it sad that Kenai killed to Koda's mother but thanks to Kenai turning into a bear he was able to discover true love through Koda since he hated his totem not only because of its meaning but also because it had the shape of a bear. There are many scenes that really make me laugh, such as when everyone travels on a mammoth thanks to Kenai's idea and in which many other animals end up traveling, and also the scene in which an older bear appears in the fish jump which lamented the death of her beloved husband, who was really alive and yelled at him "stop saying I'm dead" and yet she continued crying for him. This movie carries a beautiful message of friendship and love for others, which is very important to instill in children and young people, as well as teach the value of family ties, especially between siblings, so I am really happy to have met this film during my early adolescence.

The soundtrack is also my favorite part of the movie, since it is composed by Phil Collins and Mark Mancina and sung by Phil who is not only one of my favorite singers but I also liked the work they did with the Tarzan songs by what I fell in love with these songs not only for that, but also for the message that each one contains. My favorite songs are "Great Spirits" "Welcome" and "On My Way" both in their English and Spanish versions, but I especially really like the lyrics of the Spanish version of Great Spirits as it says something that for me It is true and it is that we must all inhabit this world as brothers and all together equally. This soundtrack is one of my favorites from Disney so not only do I keep it on CD but I also keep it on my iPod and I like to listen to it from time to time. These songs touched me a lot when I was 13 years old and I admit that they still do and I enjoy them like the first day.

  5. Disney's Brother Bear (2003)@dlstudios1617d

    image.png

I am going a bit of a different route with this review. This is actually my first time ever watching Brother Bear, and I really had no idea what to expect going in. It's not a movie I've ever really seen talked about, all of these things apply to the next few films as well. I know I mentioned in my last Disney Review I've been feeling that Disney Magic start to die out with Emperor's New Groove, and it's a trend that was slowly built up to what we see here.

I don't feel like I'm watching a Disney movie, I feel like I'm watching a higher budget version of the many Disney knock-off animated films. It's like it understands the elements that made those classic Disney Film's great, but don't understand why those elements worked. I always thought it was strange I just stopped hearing about new Disney movies at a certain point in my life, and as I've been doing these reviews I am starting to realize why. This is the point where I think Disney had lost all the life it once had. I've been critical of many Disney movies in the past for feeling like they just needed to churn out a movie to say they were releasing movies, but this is different. Even those films, at their worst, usually felt like someone cared to make it good, but even that seems to have dissipated.

In some ways I'm struggling to really say much else about the movie past that. It's not that it was bad, there were definitely parts that made me chuckle, and at times it does a good job at capturing some of the shows brotherly relationships, and I actually quite liked the old woman. Animation is good as always. And the show certainly has a lot of terrible things about it I could bring up, like how poorly the montages showcase the growing relationships of characters (Something that was actually done really well in Tarzan). But none of that really feels like it matters, there is just no life in this movie.

Meet the Robinson's, Chicken Little, Home on the Range, Bolt, these are all movies that either I barely remember even existing or had no idea they were ever even a thing. After Brother Bear I am beginning to wonder, is this really what Disney became for these years? I hear good things about Tangled, and I know Princess and the Frog has it's fans, but this next stretch of movies just seem to exist in some kind of dead zone people don't talk about, and I'm worried about what's to come.

  6. Brother Bear.- Brother's Love is infinite and great ...@celi1302092d
In this new time that we are living, there have been many changes among them being at home for longer, taking advantage of it by sharing as a family, asking God every day that this disease recedes and no more people die due to it.
Today I shared with my daughter, mother and sister a beautiful movie that was released in 2003, she is Brother Bear.

    Synopsis

    Source
This beautiful story begins in a local tribe, where the oldest of them begins to tell a story to the smallest and youngest of the tribe, he lived together with his brothers in the time they were young, while he tells the story, he goes drawing in the cave so that they go imagining the story.
It narrates that in their time they were taught that the world was magical, its origin is found in the changing lights that dance across the sky, above the highest mountains. The one who told him about that was the old Shamana of his tribe specifying that those lights of the sky, magic are the spirits of the ancestors who have the power to make changes in their world, the small becomes large, the winter becomes spring, something always transforms, but the biggest change he experienced was the transformation of his younger brother who desperately wanted to be a man. From there begins the story of the three Sitka brothers, the oldest brother, Denahi, the second and Kenai the youngest, who was already near the ceremony of his manhood (change to an adult person), for this he gives him a Tomtem that is the animal as identifies each person.
    Source
On the day of the Kenyan ceremony, the old Shamana went up to the top of the mountain to talk with the ancestors which was the totem of this young man, this they gave him that of a Bear, which meaning is that of love. Upon receiving Kenai this totem was not to his liking, expressing that bears are thieves and evil that kills people, that the least he wants to be identified with that animal, that because he has not been like his brothers, the one from Sitka is the one from an eagle that means being a guide, Denahi's in a Wolf that means wisdom. At that time they were in the discussion, a big bear comes up and steals a salmon, this makes the brothers upset because it was for the food of the tribe.
    Source
In that Kenai begins to follow this Bear together with his brothers, chasing him, he reaches the top of a mountain, but at that moment of the persecution the bear hides her little boy so that the brothers do not hurt them, in that the brothers arrive to battle with the Osa, but Sitka the older brother sees that if the fight continues, he and his brothers could lose their lives, in that he makes a decision that would cost him his life, he sticks the spear in the ground causing the ground to fall apart from the top the bear and Sitka. From that moment the anger, the pain, makes Kenai take hatred against the Bear, after the Sitka funeral, the two brothers are fighting to follow the Bear and avenge the death of their brother. To which Denahi tells Kenai not to anger the spirits.
Now they are two brothers who must take care of each other. Kenai is going to chase the Bear, Denahi follows him to take care of him. But Kenai is blind with anger and pain and you don't analyze what happened. In that Kenai sees the Bear chasing her until she kills her. After killing her, Kenai is close to the dead bear, but magic lights begin to approach him, in that Kenai approaches the lights, you show him the ancestral animals, in that the spirit of an Eagle appears, he transforms into brother Sitka, Kenai sees him, The Eagle takes it with his paw, takes him to the highest of the lights, transforming him into a bear (Kenai), but at that very moment his brother Denahi is going up the mountain in search of his brother Kenai, he finds the clothes of Kenahi on the ground, coming to mind that the bear killed Kenai, the only brother she already had.

    confirmadotierradeososvolveraensuversionliveaction44.gif

    Source

In that Kenai turned into Bear all dizzy tries to approach his brother, but then he falls into a river that takes him away. Now it is Denahi who is blinded by rage and hatred now he is the one who will follow that Bear.
In that it comes out that the Shamana of the tribe finds him, he knows he is Kenai, but it is not explained how the spirits turned him into a bear, but this must have a purpose for Kenai, he must discovered on his own from the spirits, but this Against his brother Denahi, who believes that Kenya died, he also begins to attack the Bear but without knowing that he is his brother, from here a world of adventures begins ...
