I wanted to see some different horror and I started searching the Netflix catalog until I came across this movie. The synopsis looked good so I wanted to give the terrible horror movies I've seen on this platform one more shot. I do not want to be misunderstood, I am not a girl who is not afraid of anything, quite the opposite and that is why I like horror films but I have mixed feelings with this film.
Explaining the plot is difficult because I don't think the director knows what he did, but I will try. The film was based on a post-apocalyptic future, apparently there was a nuclear war and well, people are going hungry, extreme poverty, etc. typical of this type of film, everyone struggling to survive and hiding in their homes almost all the time.
Quería ver algo de terror diferente y empecé a buscar en el catálogo de Netflix hasta que me encontré con esta película. La sinopsis se veía bien así que quise darle una oportunidad más a las terribles películas de terror que he visto en esta plataforma. No quiero que me malinterpreten, no soy una chica a la que no le de miedo nada, todo lo contrario y por eso me gustan las películas de terror pero tengo sentimientos encontrados con esta película.
Explicar la trama es difícil porque no creo que el director sepa lo que hizo, pero lo intentare. La película estaba basada en un futuro post apocalíptico, aparentemente hubo una guerra nuclear y bueno la gente está pasando hambre, pobreza extrema, etc típico de este tipo de películas, todo el mundo luchando por sobrevivir y casi todo el tiempo ocultos en sus casas.
Then suddenly a man begins to offer a play in a hotel in exchange for what people have. Yes, in times of extreme poverty! From that moment I thought something was wrong but I continued watching the movie. The film focuses on a family Leonora, Jacob and Alice. This family enters the hotel although Jacob was hesitant at first to see something strange and rightly so.
Once at the hotel a banquet is given and people desperately start eating. The play starts a few minutes later and everything is crazy from then on. People start to witness the play that takes place throughout the hotel, not just in one room, and they start to walk around and see strange scenes.
Luego de repente un hombre empieza a ofrecer una obra de teatro en un hotel a cambio de lo que las personas tengan ¡Si en tiempos de extrema pobreza! Desde ese momento pensé que algo no cuadraba pero continúe viendo la película. La película se enfoca en una familia Leonora, Jacob y Alice. Esta familia entra en el hotel aunque Jacob dudaba al principio por verlo algo extraño y con toda la razón.
Una vez en el hotel se reparte un banquete y la gente empieza a comer desesperadamente. La obra de teatro empieza pocos minutos después y todo es una locura a partir de ese momento. Las personas empiezan a presenciar la obra que se produce en todo el hotel, no solo en una sala y empiezan a caminar y ver escenas extrañas.
I don't know what sense this makes but the truth is that in the family they lose each other when they began to see the scenes of the play. The girl disappears and both parents start looking for her. The husband also disappears and the desperate woman starts looking for them everywhere, witnessing horrible things all the while and finally discovering the truth of what the play was about.
The creator of the supposed work was looking for food and that food was the people who entered the hotel. It is not known who they chose to be eaten and who they chose to be part of the family but the truth is that it was a matter of survival.
No sé qué sentido tiene esto pero lo cierto es que en la familia se pierden unos a otros cuando empezaban a ver las escenas de la obra. La niña desaparece y ambos padres empiezan a buscarla. El esposo desaparece también y la mujer desesperada empieza a buscarlos por todas partes presenciando en todo ese tiempo cosas horribles y finalmente descubriendo la verdad de lo que se trataba la obra de teatro.
El creador de la supuesta obra lo que buscaba era comida y esa comida eran las personas que entraban en el hotel. No se sabe a quienes elegían para ser comidos y quienes elegían para ser parte de la familia pero lo cierto es que era un asunto de supervivencia.
The plot could have been more interesting, that is, they could have done something better because the idea is not bad at all but the result was a disaster. Nothing is understood and the film has an arrogant air that I did not quite like. Maybe it was intended to be a cult movie but it ended up being a nasty mess.
Yes! It is true that the photography is beautiful, the soundtrack is moderately good but the most important thing is the plot in my opinion and it does not make any sense. In the hour and a half that I saw the movie I stopped it several times because I was dying of boredom. I am not terrified of anything, there is no kind of nervousness or something that makes you jump. I can't even say that it is predictable because it is not understood what they wanted to achieve with this movie.
La trama pudo haber sido más interesante, es decir pudieron haber hecho algo mejor porque la idea no está del todo mal pero el resultado fue un desastre. No se entiende nada y la película tiene un aire arrogante que no me termino de agradar. Quizás pretendía ser una película de culto pero termino siendo un desastre desagradable.
¡Si! Es cierto que la fotografía es hermosa, el soundtrack es medianamente bueno pero lo más importante es la trama en mi opinión y esta no tiene ningún tipo de sentido. En la hora y media que vi la película la pare varias veces porque moría de aburrimiento. No me causo terror alguno, no hay ningún tipo de nerviosismo o algo que te haga pegar un brinco. Ni siquiera puedo decir que es predecible porque es que no se entiende lo que quisieron lograr con esta película.
Not to mention the forced ending that it has that caused me to laugh instead of terror. I think after this it will be difficult to give Netflix horror movies a chance because I have been disappointed many times already. I see this genre more and more in decline, the last thing I saw and reviewed was Spiral, a remake of Saw that has nothing like a remake. I look forward to them bringing out something with more value, something that is truly terrifying and that is different.
I'll keep looking for some horror on the internet but I don't think I'll ever see something on Netflix again unless one of you recommends something because honestly I'm tired of these bad movies that only increase the catalog but not the quality.

Ni hablar del final forzado que tiene que me causo risa en vez de terror. Creo que después de esto será difícil darle una oportunidad a las películas de terror de Netflix porque ya he me decepcionado muchas veces. Este género cada vez lo veo más en decadencia, lo último que vi y que reseñe fue Spiral un remake de Saw que no tiene nada de remake. Espero con ansias que saquen algo con más valor, algo que realmente de terror y que sea diferente.
Seguiré buscando algo de terror por internet pero no creo que vuelva a ver algo por Netflix a menos que alguno de ustedes me recomiende algo porque sinceramente ya estoy cansada de estas películas tan malas que solo hacen aumentar el catalogo pero no la calidad.
Quizás alguno de ustedes si logro ver algo más allá de lo que yo vi en esta película y si es así por favor déjenme un comentario con su opinión acerca de la trama o de mi reseña, me gustaría saber si están de acuerdo.
