   Everything about Claymore feels cold—the gray skies, the quiet villages, even the way the Claymores themselves move, half-human, half-monster, always carrying this quiet heaviness in their eyes. From the moment Clare walks into the story, I felt this weight on my chest, like I knew I was about to follow someone who had seen too much and lost too much, but still kept moving. And that’s what stayed with me—her resilience. Not the flashy kind, but the quiet, stubborn, “I’ll keep walking even if my legs are trembling” kind.

   The speed at which I became attached was surprising to me. It would seem that an anime that deals with silver-eyed warriors hacking down grotesque monsters would make things cold and distant but Claymore somehow makes you feel deeply attached to its characters. One of the scenes is at the beginning of the movie when Clare comforts the boy Raki, who was his friend, and it moved me to the floor. It was about her not letting him get devoured by the monsters outside, it was about her not letting him get devoured by despair, having something to cling to. That hit me out, as on top of all the violence, the show continued to murmur about human connectivity and how even the most minimal connection can make you not sink.

   However, there are fights--and God, there they are nasty. I could recall how I closed my fists, my heart thumping in my chest, when Clare had to fight against more powerful people than she was, and I realized that I was beaten, but I could not retreat. It is not only the blood and steel that makes such battles memorable, it is the way they are emotionally charged. All her swings of the sword, all her blood-shed are connected with grief, vengeance, or loyalty. Occasionally I needed to take a break not because the violence was too intense but because the feelings that made it were either too difficult to handle.

   And the theme of identity there is. I was struck with that more than I had anticipated. It is this perpetual fear of losing themselves, crossing that thin line between being human and becoming the very creatures that they are fighting that makes the Claymores live with. I watched it in despair. It has made me wonder how weak our own lines are, how simple it is to lose yourself in anger, grief, or pain. There’s this gut-punch scene where a Claymore begins to awaken into a Yoma, and her comrades have to decide whether to save her or kill her. Watching that unfold left me staring at the screen, my throat tight, because it wasn’t just about monsters—it was about the terrifying possibility of losing yourself to what hurts you.

   However, Claymore is not simply darkness. Strangely enough, there is warmth here and there. The relationship that Clare had with Raki, the few snatching looks of sisterhood with the other Claymores, even the tiniest of smiles felt like little lights flashing in that grayness. I believe that is what made the show stick with me. The story is not only another fight with monsters, it is also a story of struggle to keep to your humanity, to the things that connect you, your heart, even when all the things around the world are trying to take them away.

   It was a weird feeling of awe and ache that I sat at when the anime stopped. It is not a clean-cut polished story. It is crude, disheveled, even hurried. But it left me with pictures and impressions I cannot get off, the determined look of Clare, the tragedy of men seeking to survive in a life they never wanted, what it actually means to remain human.

   Watching Claymore was not like watching an anime but being with someone during a long and cold night, where their hand is closely gripping it. It was ghostly, it was poignant, and in a very silent manner, it had a great deal of beauty. That’s why it’s stayed with me.

   Me gustó mucho este anime, porque la estética y aspecto sombrío en general, pero también por los elementos que toma, por ejemplo uno de los puntos clave que conducen la trama es “la humanidad”, pues las guerreras Claymore combaten a los Yōma gracias a que ellas mismas son mitad Yōma, es como combatir fuego con fuego, pero el gran problema es que el uso constante de las capacidades o poderes que tienen las va transformando en Yōma, es decir, que si una Claymore excede su límite de poder, esta se va terminar convirtiendo en lo que juró destruir, algunas de estas mujeres ya tienen rasgos peculiares debido al uso constante de su poder, el rasgo más característico son los ojos plateados, pero algunas otras presentan modificaciones de su cuerpo un poco más evidentes, luchan por salvar a los humanos perdiendo cada vez más su propia humanidad, es algo muy paradójico, por otro lado lo peor que le puede pasar a una Claymore es perder su capacidad de controlar su poderes y convertirse completamente en un monstruo, porque si eso ocurre la organización convoca a otras guerras Claymore pata acabar con la vida de la Claymore transformada.

   There are characters that are created to win the admiration of viewers, Teresa of the faint smile is one of that select group that remains in the memory forever. Its author and mangaka Norihiro Yagi made her an epic character, and although perhaps it was not his intention to highlight her so much, it was inevitable not to achieve that result.

   Teresa was surrounded by an aura of superiority rarely seen in manga and anime stories, this I can affirm by the simple fact of how balanced her character was, she was the best in everything but she was not full of haughtiness, her personality was unique, compassionate, proud, bold, etc., her sense of commitment was unquestionable and she always did the right thing at all times.

   You may be wondering: Who is this Teresa, well if you don't know her yet, let me tell you that she is the #1 warrior of all the Claymore, the most powerful of an organization dedicated to confront the Yoma. The latter are dark beings that devour humans and have the ability to pass themselves off as one without being identified, however the Claymore can distinguish them thanks to their silver eyes.

   A Claymore has its origin in humanity, but they are warriors "created" by a secret organization that wishes to exterminate all the Yoma, that is its primary purpose but later in the story dark purposes are revealed that lead to its subsequent destruction. Each of these Claymore maintain their human heart but also have Yoma essence within themselves, so they can be categorized as a hybrid between the two species.

   The point that they have Yoma can lead them to a level called "awakening", which is the loss of sanity and the abandonment of their essence as Claymore to become a Yoma or Abyssal depending on the rank they had in the organization. Obviously they must be destroyed when that happens, and this is an important aspect in the plot.

   I already put them in context, now let's continue with Teresa because her story is very interesting although a bit sad. The fact that she was the number 1 of the organization led her to be hated by the others, but this does not have much importance, however because of how she was she was always alone, and that led her to get involved with a young girl named Clare, who became attached to her once she saved her.

   This union eventually made Teresa and Clare establish a bond similar to that of a mother with a daughter, something beautiful but that in the end brought dire consequences. When those consequences are shown to us in the story it is like stabbing us in the heart, and here I must highlight the great work of the mangaka Yagi because from then on an unexpected arc is created based on Clare's character.

   I remember that when I saw it back then it caught my attention, although I had more than a decade watching anime, Claymore was one of the most impressive for how well developed it was and for its depth despite being few chapters, even its manga is short but it is finished.

   I like how the author made a contrast between love and revenge with both characters, also between the power of one and the other, totally opposite because one was the most powerful and the other the weakest, the contrast between maturity and immaturity is also remarkable. Definitely a very careful story, every detail very well done and the whole arc a work of art, which leads me to admire the line of thought of the author because with this story he shows us that it is not always necessary to create long seasons to achieve success.

   Finally and to conclude, Claymore is a story that is worth both reading and watching, Teresa is a unique character as I have said before and the influence she exerts on Claire is an example of what can cause a person to another through her actions, even as parents we can see the importance of dedicating to our children the best we have to give them, it will help them in their development and they will remember it until the end of their days.

   Hay personajes que son creados para ganarse la admiración de los televidentes, Teresa de la tenue sonrisa es una de ese grupo selecto que se queda en el recuerdo para siempre. Su autor y mangaka Norihiro Yagi hizo de ella un personaje épico, y aunque quizás no fue su intención resaltarla tanto fue inevitable no lograr dicho resultado.

   Teresa fue rodeada de un aura de superioridad poco visto en historias de manga y anime, esto lo puedo afirmar por el simple hecho de lo equilibrado de su personaje, era la mejor en todo pero no estaba llena de altivez, su personalidad única, compasiva, orgullosa, audaz, etc., su sentido de compromiso incuestionable y siempre hacia lo correcto en todo tiempo.

   Posiblemente te preguntes: ¿Quién es esta Teresa?, pues si aún no la conoces, déjame decirte que es la guerrera #1 de todas las Claymore, la más poderosa de una organización dedicada a enfrentar a los Yoma. Estos últimos son seres oscuros que devoran humanos y tienen la habilidad de hacerse pasar por uno sin ser identificados, sin embargo las Claymore pueden distinguirlos gracias a sus ojos plateados.

   Una Claymore tiene su origen en la humanidad, pero son guerreras “creadas” por una organización secreta que desea exterminar a todos los Yoma, ese es su fin primario pero más adelante en la historia se revelan fines oscuros que la llevan a su posterior destrucción. Cada una de estas Claymore mantienen su corazón humano pero también tienen esencia Yoma dentro de sí, por lo que se pueden catalogar como un hibrido entre las dos especies.

   El punto que tengan Yoma les puede llevar a un nivel denominado como “despertar”, el cual es la perdida de la cordura y el abandono de su esencia como Claymore para convertirse en un Yoma o Abisal dependiendo del rango que tenía en la organización. Obviamente deben ser destruidas cuando eso sucede, y este es un aspecto importante en la trama.

   Ya los puse en contexto, ahora sigamos con Teresa porque su historia es muy interesante aunque un poco triste. El que fuera la numero 1 de la organización la llevo a ser odiada por las demás, pero esto no tiene mucha importancia, sin embargo debido a como era siempre andaba sola, y eso la llevo a involucrarse con una joven llamada Clare, la cual se apegó a ella una vez la salvo.

   Esta unión con el tiempo hizo que Teresa y Clare establecieran un vínculo parecido al de una madre con una hija, algo hermoso pero que al final trajo consecuencias nefastas. Cuando esas consecuencias se nos muestran en la historia es como clavarnos un puñal en el corazón, y aquí debo resaltar el gran trabajo del mangaka Yagi porque a partir de ese entonces se crea un arco inesperado basado en el personaje de Clare.

   Recuerdo que cuando la vi en aquel entonces me llamo mucho la atención, aunque tenía más de una década viendo anime, Claymore fue uno de los más impactantes por lo bien desarrollada que estuvo y por su profundidad a pesar de ser pocos capítulos, incluso su manga es corto pero está terminado.

   Me gusta como el autor hizo un contraste entre el amor y la venganza con ambas personajes, también entre el poder de una y de la otra, totalmente opuestos pues una era la más poderosa y la otra la más débil, el contraste entre la madures y la inmadurez también es resaltable. Definitivamente una historia muy cuidada, cada detalle muy bien realizado y el arco completo una obra de arte, lo cual me lleva a admirar la línea de pensamiento del autor pues con esta historia nos demuestra que no siempre es necesario crear largas temporadas para conseguir el éxito.

   Por último y para concluir, Claymore es una historia que vale la pena tanto leer como ver, Teresa es un personaje único como ya he dicho anteriormente y la influencia que ejerce en Claire es un ejemplo de lo que puede causar una persona a otra por medio de sus acciones, incluso como padres podemos ver la importancia de dedicar a nuestros hijos lo mejor que tenemos para darle, les ayudara en su desarrollo y lo recordaran hasta el final de sus días.

   Hola Amigos de Hive-Con! ¡Ha pasado un tiempo sin vernos!

   Espero que estén disfrutando de sus animes favoritos esta temporada, la verdad es que yo personalmente lo estoy pasando genial viendo Jujutsu Kaisen y Zom 100( van 5 capítulos y la verdad me ha gustado bastante), pero aun no he empezado a ver Bleach aunque es de mis animes favoritos, en fin, la vida de adulto no siempre nos deja tiempo para ver y hacer todo lo que queramos, sin embargo en esta ocasión les vengo a hablar de un manga que volví a leer hace poco y que sinceramente aunque pasen los años me sigue gustando: CLAYMORE

   Un poco de contexto por favor

   Verán, la primera vez que vi Claymore fue en su adaptación al anime, la cual me presto una amiga sus DVD (que tiempos aquellos) para verla, la trama gira en torno a mujeres que son mitad Yoma(demonios) mitad humanas, las cuales son encargadas de proteger a la humanidad de estos mismos monstruos, y para ello usan sus poderes de Yoma y usan una espada gigante llamada CLAYMORE que es de donde viene el nombre del anime.

   Nuestra protagonista es Clare y conforme avanza la serie nos damos cuenta de que ella es la más débil de todas las Claymore y de su pasado, el punto es que la adaptación al anime hace bien al contarnos el principio de la historia y un poco del avance de la protagonista, sin embargo, en ese momento el estudio que adapto ese manga al anime le paso lo que les pasaba a muchos estudios en ese tiempo:

   1. Se quedaban sin presupuesto.

   2. Alcanzaban al manga y al no tener mas contenido sobre el que trabajar, pues se lo inventaban.

   Y lo que le paso fue las dos cosas, al llegar a cierto punto en la historia, se inventaron dos capítulos en los que nada tiene sentido, y luego de eso finalizaron la obra con un final inventado muy controversial y fuera de tono bastante malo.

   El manga y sus beneficios

   Obviamente como imaginaran, quedé sorprendido con ese corte tan repentino y hasta se lo dije a mi amiga, le comenté que me había gustado la serie pero que ese final había sido horrible, y me comento que el manga seguía y automáticamente fui a leerlo, y amigos encontré oro jajaja.

   Se que muchas personas no les gusta leer manga por muchas razones, pero este manga esta tan bien dibujado y el contenido esta tan bueno que lo lees y no puedes evitar pensar que estas viendo un anime, pero por fotogramas por la calidad que tiene, además de continuar con la historia que quedo a medias en el anime.

   La historia de Clare es bastante trágica y uno de los principales motivos por los cuales siento que el anime esta muy incompleto es que no muestra totalmente su desarrollo de personaje, por ejemplo al comenzar la obra, recalco que no es spoiler pues pasa en el primer episodio, ella comienza a viajar con un chico llamado Raki, el cual en el anime no obtiene NADA de desarrollo, mientras que en el manga observamos un crecimiento genial en el personaje, ya que es un eje central de la trama y una de las personas importantes de Clare conforme avanza la serie.

   Algo que también me gustó muchísimo es ver la interacción con las demás Claymore´s en el manga, se nota que todas y cada una de ellas tienen una motivación, diferentes habilidades y objetivos para lograr, algunas son buenas y otras de dudosa moralidad.

   Si bien es cierto que muchos animes son bastante lentos a la hora de sus combates, tanto en el anime como en el manga de Claymore son muy dinámicos y explícitos, hay bastante GORE para quien lo disfruta y como advertencia a quien no, no es un manga/anime que tenga mucha censura, en lo personal me parece excelente, pues si el mundo de la obra esta lleno de monstruos y guerreros, me parece lo mas sensato, y debo aclarar que a mi NO ME GUSTA EL GORE, de hecho hay bastantes obras que apenas veo el nivel de gore las abandono.

   Los combates son frenéticos y viscerales, son todo un espectáculo, también la gama de habilidades de cada una de las Claymore’s que vemos en la obra son muy vistosas y de lo más creativas.

   En cuanto a la censura y su tema, la serie tiene un tono muy adulto y conforme avanza la serie, vemos una cantidad de giros de trama bastante interesantes, aparte de un desarrollo de estado de mundo bastante elaborado, aquí debo hacer mención al manga, pues en el anime se trata muy poco esto.

   Los “villanos” son muy interesantes la verdad

   Algo que me llamo bastante la atención es que si bien hay antagonistas y villanos en la obra, todos y cada uno de ellos tienen un trasfondo bastante bueno, últimamente he visto que muchas obras sean manga o anime, meten un villano que solo es malo porque le dio la gana de serlo, o solo ponen una excusa bastante vaga de ello, pero aquí la verdad es que cada uno tiene su motivación justificada a niveles aceptables y eso me gusto bastante, pues llegas a empatizar con muchos de ellos y a otros simplemente los detestas jajaja.

   --- Quería hacer esta pequeña review, pues hace poco conseguí una aplicación excelente para leer manga en el móvil y este fue uno de los primeros mangas que volví a leer y la verdad es que se merecía su reconocimiento al ser un manga tan bueno, al menos a mi parecer.

   You see, the first time I saw Claymore was in its anime adaptation, which a friend lent me her DVD (what a time those were) to watch it, the plot revolves around women who are half Yoma (demons) half human, which are responsible for protecting humanity from these same monsters, and to do so they use their Yoma powers and use a giant sword called CLAYMORE which is where the name of the anime comes from.

   Our protagonist is Clare and as the series progresses we realize that she is the weakest of all the Claymore and her past, the point is that the anime adaptation does well to tell us the beginning of the story and a little of the progress of the protagonist, however, at that time the studio that adapted the manga to anime happened to him what happened to many studios at that time:

   Clare's story is quite tragic and one of the main reasons why I feel that the anime is very incomplete is that it does not fully show her character development, for example at the beginning of the work, I emphasize that it is not spoiler because it happens in the first episode, she begins to travel with a boy named Raki, which in the anime gets NOTHING of development, while in the manga we see a great growth in the character, as it is a central axis of the plot and one of the important people of Clare as the series progresses.

   Something that I also really liked is to see the interaction with the other Claymore's in the manga, you can tell that each and every one of them has a motivation, different skills and goals to achieve, some are good and others of dubious morality.

   El anime tiene 26 capitulos, al parecer 24 de esos capítulos son canónicos al manga y los ultimos dos fueron inventados por la productora para cerrar el anime en ese punto de la historia; yo no lo note un cierre tan forzado, pero si me fuese gustado que continuarán el anime para saber cómo finaliza y que ocurre con los abismales, por ahora puedo decir que me gusto muchísimo este anime y lo recomiendo un montón para los que le gusta ese tipo de tramas oscuras y llenas de peleas sangrientas en una epoca medieval como un toque de estilo gótico 😁.    Es una serie de manga de fantasía oscura escrita e ilustrada por Norihiro Yag y llevada luego a anime. Toda la trama ocurre en un mundo imaginario donde habitan los seres humanos y unos demonios llamados Yoma. Este anime comienza con una conmoción en un pueblo donde han sido atacados varios de sus habitantes por uno de los monstruos llamados Yoma, cuyo alimento son las entrañas de los seres humanos, ante la imposibilidad de descubrir quién es el monstruo pues se ha disfrazado de humano, el pueblo contrata los servicios de una organización que entrena guerreras que son capaces de detectar y cazar a estos Yoma.

   Estas guerreras, ya que son solo son mujeres, las personas les llaman Claymore, también brujas de ojos plateados debido al color de sus ojos, nunca se sabe cual es el nombre de la organización que las entrena, pero sí es notorio que les realizan un seguimiento en todo lo que hacen, esto se hace cada vez más evidente mientras vas viendo cada capítulo, al punto de que si ellas se vuelven problemáticas o traicionan a la organización pueden ser enviadas a misiones donde es muy probable pierdan su vida o simplemente envían a otra Guerrera para que acabe con su vida.

   ARGUMENTO/ARGUMENT

   La historia se desarrolla entre un mundo donde habitan los hombres y los Yomas. Los yomas son seres depredadores de humanos y tienen la capacidad de tomar la forma humana por lo tanto habitan entre los seres humanos a escondidas cazando a sus presas. Una organización Secreta creo a las guerras claymore, seres capaces de identificar la presencia espiritual de los yomas que viven entre los humanos y matarlos. Estas guerras son humanas corrientes que gracias a experimentos con yomas y su sangre, lograron desarrollar poderes pero con altos costos sobre su vida humana. Estas guerras reciben el nombre de CLAYMORE debido al nombre de la gran espada que llevan con ellas.

   The story takes place between a world inhabited by men and the Yomas. The yomas are predatory beings of humans and have the ability to take the human form therefore live among humans in secret hunting their prey. A secret organization created the claymore wars, beings capable of identifying the spiritual presence of the yomas that live among humans and kill them. These wars are ordinary human that thanks to experiments with yomas and their blood, they managed to develop powers but with high costs on their human life. These wars are called CLAYMORE because of the name of the great sword they carry with them.

   Las guerras claymore son muy similares a los humanos es su aspecto físico sin embargo poseen un rasgo particular que las hace sobresalir y son sus ojos plateados y es por esto que reciben el nombre de "las brujas de los ojos plateados"

   Claymore wars are very similar to humans is their physical appearance however they have a particular feature that makes them stand out and are their silver eyes and this is why they are called "the witches of silver eyes"

   En este anime, la trama gira entorno de Clare, una joven que sufrio la muerte de sus padres por un yoma y fue adoptada por Teresa (una de las guerras mas poderosas). Clare decide convertirse en claymore tras ver morir a teresa por una guerrera despertada (Lo explicare mas adelante), Teresa se revela contra la organizacion y mandan en contra de ellas varias guerreras para matarla. Clare tienen una particularidad y es que sus poderes no son del todo provenientes de los Yoma, sus poderes provienen de la sangre de Teresa.

   In this anime, the plot revolves around Clare, a young woman who suffered the death of her parents by a Yoma and was adopted by Teresa (one of the most powerful wars). Clare decides to become a claymore after seeing Teresa die because of an aroused warrior (I'll explain later), Teresa reveals herself against the organization and sends several warriors against her to kill her. Clare have a particularity and is that their powers are not entirely from the Yoma, their powers come from the blood of Teresa.

   La principal razon de Clare al convertirse en Claymore es acaba con Priscilla, el mosutros que desperto y acabo con la vida de Teresa.

   En la organización de las claymore, cada una es identificada por un rango que hace referencia a su nivel de poder. Clare es la numero 47 y ultima. También cuentan con un símbolo que las identifica. A lo largo del anime veremos como clare logra sobrepasar sus limites para desarrollar nuevas habilidades para hacer frente a las dificultades que enfrenta. Que no te engañe lo débil que aparenta, tiene la sangre de Teresa asi que no hay de que preocuparse o si??

   Cuando llegan al 30% - 50% y 70 %de poder, su cuerpo comienza a deformarse, cambian sus dientes, se vuelven musculosas y cambian todo su aspecto

   Pero si una guerrera sobre pasa el 80% en teoría no hay forma de regresar y alcanzan el limite y terminan despertando, pierden su control sobre los poderes Yoma y se convierten en un Kakuseisha

   Se le conocía como la ojos de Dios debido a su capacidad para sentir Yoki desde grandes distancias, era usada por la organización para observar acontecimientos sin que sintieran su presencia.
