So, I recently watched "Code 8" on Netflix, mainly because I wanted to give Stephen Amell, the guy from "Arrow," a shot in a different role. Gotta say, it was an okay watch, but I wasn't jumping out of my seat with excitement. Let me break it down for you.

First off, the movie had some cool special effects and decent acting. I mean, it's always fun to see some flashy CGI, right? And Stephen Amell did his thing, which was cool to see outside of his usual superhero gig.

But here's the thing, the storyline left a bit to be desired. It felt like they were trying to tackle some big issues, like racism and social inequality, by using this whole meta-human thing as a metaphor. But it didn't quite hit the mark for me. I mean, sure, it's interesting to think about what would happen if people with superpowers were just regular folks trying to get by. But the way they executed it felt kinda off.

Plus, there were some plot lines that were just way too predictable. You know, the whole "trust me" instead of just explaining what's going on? Yeah, that kind of stuff. It made the movie feel a bit dull at times.

Overall, "Code 8" was a decent enough watch, but it didn't exactly blow me away. If you're into sci-fi and don't mind a bit of predictability, you might enjoy it. But if you're expecting something groundbreaking, you might want to lower your expectations a bit.

P.S : Some days ago they released a sequel I am going to watch it probably some point in the follow week but I don't have high hopes.

Hello friends, I'm here with another interesting movie title Code 8 and I would like to share you with here.

The movie is about Connor, who possesses special powers, is forced to take up the life of a criminal to pay for his sick mother's treatment.

It begins In the early 20th century, the public becomes aware of people with superhuman abilities, known as Powers, resulting in the government passing a law requiring all Powers to register their abilities.

Although they are initially popular in the workforce, as the Third industrial Revolution begins, Powers are marginalized.

A crime syndicate known as The Trust has flooded the streets with an addictive drug called Psyke, made from the spinal fluid of trafficked Powers.

Police departments begin using drone-deployed robots, called Guardians, and facial recognition software to combat Power-related crime while a citywide Powers ban is debated.

Connor Reed, a 26-year-old Electric (electrokinetic) looks after his mother Mary, a Cryo (cryokinetic), whose ailment impedes her from controlling her powers.

They cannot afford treatment. Connor makes ends meet by working as an unregistered day laborer alongside other Powers.

Elsewhere in the city, a drug raid is conducted by detectives Park and Davis on an apartment complex owned by crime lord Marcus Sutcliffe, the local agent of The Trust and a Reader (mind reader).

Connor is approached by Garrett, Marcus's underling and a TK (telekinetic), and his crew for a job.

The job turns out to be a robbery. Connor is introduced to Marcus and meets Nia, Marcus's apparent girlfriend.

Park and Davis arrive at the robbery scene the next day and determine that Marcus is desperate for revenue.

Garrett recruits Connor for more jobs while training him to maximize his abilities, and agrees to help him earn enough money to get Mary's treatment.

Connor grows close with Garrett's crew—Freddie, a mute Brawn (super strength), and Maddy, a Pyro (pyrokinesis).

Marcus has the crew rob a bank to pay back The Trust, but the vault contains only a tenth of the money they expected.

Wesley's Shifter (shape-shifter) assassin, Copperhead, attempts to kill Marcus for not honoring his debt, but Marcus's bodyguard Rhino, a Brawn with bulletproof skin, kills her.

Nia reveals to Connor that she is a Healer, and only remains with Marcus to ease the effects of his Psyke addiction and pay off her imprisoned father's debt.

Mary's condition worsens, and the doctors tell Connor that they need to operate soon to save her.

Park and Davis bring Connor in for questioning. Davis wants to plant evidence and coerce Connor into informing. Park would like to cut him loose due to lack of evidence.

Connor is released. He goes to Garrett and suggests they rob a police-confiscated Psyke transport, which will make them $10 million.

Garrett and Connor bring the idea to Marcus, where Connor demands Nia heal Mary as payment.

On the day of the heist, the crew blocks the transport inside a no-fly zone, preventing backup by drones carrying Guardians.

Although they manage to retrieve the Psyke non-lethally, Marcus's men execute police officers and betray them.

They kill Maddy and fatally wound Freddie. Rhino flees with the drugs. Connor tells Garrett that Marcus framed them because of Garrett's demands, and they part ways.

Connor contacts Park and offers up Marcus's hideout. The cops raid Marcus's hideout, while Connor and Garrett fight and kill both Rhino and Marcus.

Find out what happened next as both Rhino and Marcus are killed as it gets interesting.

    Thanks for reading my post.

  3. Code 8 | A realistic film about superpowers@dedicatedguy2384d

In the past few months, I have watched several productions about people with superpowers but instead of going the Marvel way, these stories are grounded on real-life situations and normal people that happen to have extended abilities. Freaks is one of these movies, and The Boys is a series with a different take but its basic premise revolves around people with superpowers.

Today's movie is Code 8, and the plot is about a man with little money but with important financial needs. We all know that when people urgently need more money they will do whatever it takes to get it. Therefore, this movie belongs in the action + crime genre and it was quite fun and it had a unique take on the super "hero" sub-genre.

In this world, there are a lot of people with special abilities that earn their living in the underworld, doing all sorts of crimes and robberies. They are kind of rejected by society because the majority of the population doesn't have any powers. Unlike the X Men or other famous superheroes, in this case, the majority powers are about being able to manipulate electricity, heal people, and abilities related to ice and extreme temperatures that allow the person to melt all kinds of stuff.

This story happens in a society that is a little bit futuristic. The police use assault robots and drones that are about the size of a truck and are always patrolling the city. It certainly looked like the technology is something possible to have in the real world, with the exception, of course, of the superpowers.

The acting was ok, nothing major but it was a good job. The best thing about this movie was simply its take in the superpower category. It is a good movie to watch if you want action with not idolized and sometimes quite humble super "heroes".

I personally preferred Freaks because it was much more intriguing and exciting, but Code 8 is certainly a good choice if you are looking for a cool action movie.

    The best

    • Unique take on the superpowers category.
    • People with superpowers have regular more realistic lives.
    • Cool drones and robots from the police.

    The worst

    • There is no sense of intrigue, this is simply action. This can be something possible for action fans.
    • No great twists or anything similar.
