   A few years ago, I remember playing this game with my brother during the Christmas period and now I find out there was a recent animated adaptation?! How on earth did I miss this? I was shocked when my brother told me about the animation adaptation TV series. It was unbelievable until I saw the trailer. At the same time, I was not happy that I had been living under a rock.

   So last week I decided to watch the animated TV series and to be honest, I am impressed with it. Though it's not perfect, it is still a good, thrilling, action-packed and witty adaptation. I enjoyed it and I am eagerly waiting for the second season by May this year. Makes me wonder what Netflix is cooking for us.

   Devil May Cry is a series that was distributed by Netflix. It is an action, adult, urban-fantasy animation that was adapted from a game made by Capcom with the same title with just 8 episodes. If you are a gamer and have played this game before you would know that it was good adaptation except for a few flaws here and there.

   

   

   The story of the series centers around Dante, a half-demon and demon hunter for-hire who is being hunted down because of a piece of Jewelry that is around neck (given to him his mother) by a government organization called Dark Realm Command (DARKCOM) which is managed the Vice President of USA William Baines.

   

   

   However, this piece of jewelry is not only wanted by DARKCOM but also by a 6ft ”White Rabbit” man who is hell bent on revenge on the human race by using the Jewelry along with Sword of Sparda to slice open the veil between the earth and the demon world for a demonic invasion of Earth.

   

   

   Now Dante is right in the middle of a war he knows nothing about. He is in conflict with a human soldier named Mary Ann Arkham (a DARKCOM Lieutenant) and the White Rabbit man. Who among will succeed in getting hands on Dante’s Jewelry? At what cost is Dante willing to protect the piece of Jewelry given to him by his late mother?

   Characters That Caught My Attention.

   

   Chris Coppola as Enzo Ferino is a character who is an information broker and who helps Dante get work that is within his career domain. You see this character is a chatty and funny character that couldn't be forgotten so easily. However, somehow he managed not to die from the beginning of the series till the end.

   

   Hoon Lee as the White Rabbit is a worthy villain against Dante. He is a demonic terrorist who wants a demonic invasion on earth which will lead to complete human extinction. His character was well and a good depiction of ”Villains are created”. I like how he was smart with his agenda. He was always a step ahead of the protagonist’s team. He was ruthless and resilient.

   

   Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary Ann Arkham is a DARKCOM lieutenant. This character’s motive is fueled by anger, hatred, regret and traumas from her past life. She was first the antagonist then later she became the protagonist. Her character was, infuriating, dynamic and very unstable.

   

   Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante, is a laid-back character with a good sense of humor. I love Dante’s character so much. He was well written according to the game. His mannerisms, choice of music and his strength. He is a character that is very easily likable.

   My Review And Rating.

   This series would easily make it up to impressive blockbuster level if only some of the flaws and mishaps were there, but nothing is really not perfect in this world is it?

   The writing of the series is excellent. They got right according to the games’ storyline. For me, Dante was written perfectly well, I will give them that. Except, they made him look weaker, while he was the strong character in the story. However, coming to the DARKCOM lieutenant was a mishap of writing. She was written terribly. I don't really know what was going on with her character, but I feel she was given more attention than Dante who is the main character.

   They made the series all her while Dante took a step back which was wrong. Also, Lt Mary is a ghastly character. She was annoying in a dumb way and cursed in every of her dialogue (was it necessary though). She destroyed part of my experience with this series. Also, the backstories of the demons (depicting them with pity and as victims) is what didn't sit right with me.

   Another thing I enjoyed in this series is seeing a world I've once controlled with a gamepad perfectly portrayed in a vibrant, exhilarating, and fluid way. It was fast paced, action packed on each episode, all the stunts, the fighting skill made the series all magnetic. I will give it to the creator and cinematographers. They out did themselves. They knew what exactly made the original game special like the rich music, style (urban), the swagger, the mystery that comes with the storyline and they depicted all of it clearly in every minute of the series’s run time.

   Rating this series, I will give it 7. 5 out 10 stars. I really enjoyed it and hope the second season will be better this season. If you love DMC games then I recommend you watch this TV adaptation.

   Devil May Cry V game where you return from death to start a new experience where you will have different tasks and Capcom was able to provide us with impressive success and to prove its presence strongly on the development field where you will enjoy the same things that were 15 years ago.

   Before we start the game story, we have three heroes in this game, Nero, Dante and V, where they will try to save the city of Red Grave from the invasion of demons and defeat the great demon trying to occupy the city, where you will enjoy in this game a mixture of action and horror.

   The story

   We all know that the story is not the most powerful blower in our game today, as your mission will not be limited to fighting demons, and we will not find a linear story, but you will enjoy many side axes in the game. Let us first start analyzing the chain in general. Since the first part, the game searches for an existential question in human life in reality in general, which is what makes an evil person and what makes another good.

   That is why the game puts us in front of many situations that are supposed to answer this question. Also, you will meet many characters who will reflect this question as well. Indeed, the pivotal transformation in many characters is what makes you marvel during playing. At the beginning of the game we have the Devil Sparda who wants to control the human world with the tremendous power he possesses but contrary to all expectations we see him loves a human girl and tries to defend the human world in every way. On the other side, we see the human world Arkham, who has gone crazy and decided to stand with demons and evoke demonic power in order to dominate the human world. Thus, you will find that the story provides a deeper meaning that is clear to everyone, but it gives far-reaching philosophical references and not only to killing and defeating demons, but also makes you search and wonder what made them so. Is it hate? Is it crazy? Is it hate ?!

   

   Gameplay

   Here we have the real strength of the game where you will enjoy Hack n 'Slash-style gameplay and unfortunately not everyone knows this kind of game because this category has almost disappeared from the market. Where this type of games depends on accumulating successive strikes behind each other in order to reach the combo and collect the largest number of combos in order to reach the highest evaluation at the end of the game. It sounds a bit strange this type of game, but if you try it it will give you a real euphoria as you get it in the multiplayer games. Assembling different combos, changing weapons, and the different Fighting Style gives a great view of the game. If you want to finish your enemy in the traditional way, you can do this, but the real talent is to do the largest number of Combos where you will dance with swords, get firearms and fight more closely to the talent instead of the mission.

   The main gameplay is the three main characters that we will play with as the characters will be divided into three main characters as we talked previously. The hero of the series is Dante, who hates the world of demons and tries to get rid of him. Vergil, who sees his humanity as his only weakness, is unfortunately sucked a demonic part and wrestles between humanity and satanism. Finally we have the Devil Trish that falls in love with Dante. So we cannot say that the series is weak in the story or naive, but rather it provides a deep story, but it will need you to make some effort in order to discuss its details, technically and technically, we get graphics and a distinctive style of play and fighting, and we will start by explaining the style of playing each individual character.

   Nero gameplay

   Where he possesses three weapon weapons, called Nico, an industrial arm, and a pistol, and he will present us with a different style of combat, and he will have a pivotal role in the story, but he is a temperamental and nervous character who will need a lot of time to adapt to.

    It mainly relies on two devils, the first is Griffin, a phoenix-like bird that sends bursts of lasers and Shadow, a black tiger-like devil. .

    It has two types of weapons that you can switch between constantly and it is sword and long-range weapons and of course there are different Devil Triggers for Dante in addition to other secondary weapons which I will not touch all of them.

   

   Graphics

   The graphic level in the game is great for the goal, as the Real Engine provided us with realistic images that gave the game great pleasure and despite the fantasy world that the game offers, which requires creativity, the developers succeeded in providing us with a world of demons in a very wonderful way, where the game combined horror and excitement and you will find great fun During the fight and more pleasure while discovering this wonderful world, and if you were who were playing this game for the first time, I promise you that you will be shocked by the splendor and style of the game. Where the developers dealt with graphics and colors wonderfully, and the mixture of black and red colors gave us very beautiful pictures and videos, where you will be able to play at a frame rate of 60 fps at high resolution on the ready of the computer if you have a GTX 1060 card. And the fun is complete with music and audio, the developers did not provide effort in Soundtracks, as well as the songs of the metal in the game, and the voices of demons mixed with music give you enthusiasm and a great motivation while playing.

   In the end

   I cannot give the game its right in words, but what we can say is that you rarely find a game that combines a story, a style of play, and graphics in such a wonderful way that it is one of the most fun games in the past years.
