  1. Disenchanted, a feel-good movie@ismaca904d

As a devotee of Disney classics, I must admit that I had high expectations for the Disenchanted sequel to Enchanted.

I'm happy to say that Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and director Adam Shankman more than delivered and gave us a magical film that surpasses its predecessor.

A few years on from her fairy tale, Adams once again dazzles us with her delivery as Giselle, now amassed in the grim reality of suburbia with her family. But an ill-formulated wish will drag her back into the fantastical world of Andalasia.

    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=133131)

Full of nostalgic references but also looking to the future, Disenchanted is pure kitsch and fun for the whole family.

The visual effects and musical numbers are jaw-dropping as in the best Disney classics.

Adams is as touching as ever and watching endearing supporting actors like Maya Rudolph elevate their comedy to the top of their game made me laugh out loud.

    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=133131)

Undoubtedly, a film for those who refuse to grow up and let their magical side flow.

A feel-good movie ideal for the holidays that leaves a sweet taste.

  2. [Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Disenchanted | There are unnecessary consequences@jrjaime936d
Welcome my dear smiling internet travelers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, there are films that do not need a sequel because all the content they had was squeezed out in its entirety in the first installment, this makes the making An interesting sequel becomes a titanic but not impossible task, which is why since “Disenchanted” came out I refrained from watching it because it could be a great failure or a great success. Today we will discover which path it took. Without further ado, get ready to make some wishes because we are about to begin.

Disenchanted was released in 2022, it is a direct sequel to “Enchanted”, directed by Adam Shankman and Anne Fletcher, produced by Walt Disney Pictures, it has a duration of 2 hours and 1 minute (Fun fact: I was surprised that this film be for those over 13 years of age when superinnocent). It is a musical comedy film, the story focuses on Giselle and her family 15 years after the events of the first film, after having a daughter of their own they begin to run out of space in the apartment so they decide to move to the suburbs, However, this decision will bring new problems to the family and will even generate tension between Giselle and her stepdaughter. Being afraid that her new place will not be as expected, she decides to use a magic wand that they gave her to try to make her life and her life. of his family better, as expected this will not go as planned and he will have to face all the consequences of his decision.

The soundtrack is a curious case, the above is because it has good musical pieces, although the issue is that many of these do not convey the message they should and are just simple dances, the first installment is not that it was amazing but for At least the importance of these moments was more notable, in this film it seems like an added bonus.

The construction of the world is quite bland, throughout the film magic is introduced and greater importance is given to the kingdom of Andalasia because it has a relevant contextual role, the problem with this is that it is not really explored or Nothing that resembles it, neither the kingdom as such nor the magic, are elements that pretend to be important but that at the end of the day do not unfold in the way they are supposed to.

    plot.png

    Property by @Jrjaime

The plot feels very boring, the premise in itself could have been interesting because it focuses on routine, having to adapt to changes in life, and the fact of accepting that happiness is neither eternal nor It is experienced at all times but in specific moments, in itself this sounds captivating and even moderately complex, however it falls apart when you try to carry it out, being buried between absurd moments, pathetic jokes and retarded characters. Narratively there is not much to highlight, the film is even more basic than its predecessor and does not have the comic elements that it did, all this is accompanied by the fact that the plot depends a lot on the imbecility of its protagonists in order to advance what it wants. It's too pathetic. The duration feels unnecessarily extended, the above is the result of everything becoming convoluted without need, which makes it extremely tedious and makes it look like a forced product.

    characters.png

    Property by @Jrjaime

Nothing to highlight, no character is interesting, in fact, the film aims to make you dislike some of the characters from the first installment, the above through stupid and immature attitudes that bother quite a few; those that are not hateful end up as wasted potential or a mere mockery, some seemed to seek to represent the midlife crisis but this is developed with the feet. The villain is extremely pathetic, on the other hand, trying to make the protagonist turn evil could have been interesting but it is worked in the most disastrous way possible so it ends up coming to nothing.

Disenchanted is part of that group of sequels that no one asked for and that the only thing it achieves is to tarnish the name of the original film, lacking interesting elements that really make it feel like a new adventure with new features that make it feel unique, being that all of this ends up making her too dependent on her predecessor. It is for all the above that it deserves 1 star out of 7, a film that feels very tedious and without anything really attractive that makes you watch it, as I mentioned before it is an unnecessary sequel and not worth it.

  3. Disenchanted. The story after the happily ever after [ENG-ESP]@beysyd1192d

    20230324_071948_0000.png

In 2007 Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey made us fall in love with the Disney movie, Enchanted, a different fairy tale about princesses and princes full of magic, music and innocence, where Giselle our main character realices that true love is born with time, knowing the other person.

I’m not a fan of musicals but I love this one in particular, especially the scene in the park with the song That’s How You Know, is the best of the movie.

It took 15 years for Disney to give us a second part of this production, when I heard that it would have a sequel it was inevitable not to want to see it. In my house no one was as excited as I was because they have not seen the first one, but I still saw it with my daughter who only with the summary they give you at the beginning and the little I could explain to her, she caught up with the story. It is also true that sometimes these second parts are not as good as the first but being Disney I was very excited about what we were going to see.

Disenchanted is the story of Giselle ten years after getting her happily ever after with Robert, her stepdaughter Morgan and her new baby Sofia.

Giselle hasn’t lost her personality and still wants to live in a fairy tale with her family, but the years have passed, Morgan is now a teenager and Manhattan is a city where everyone lives at a fast pace. With the intention of achieving a change in her pace of life and in her relationship with Morgan, Giselle decides to move to Monroeville, hoping that her family will adapt and value life in a community very similar to what she has in her expectations.

    20230215_171354_0001.png

I thought the story theme was spot on, what to expect after the happily ever after? That Giselle felt that things were not going as she imagined or that life with her family was not the fairy tale she expected, her feeling of frustration, of doing something wrong, because her relationship with Morgan was not what it used to be, not understanding that she is a teenager. Real life is very hard and she is still someone who came out of a fairy tale where there is nothing after happily ever after.

That leads her to make a wish for the welfare of her family or that is what she believes, but instead of improving the situation changes the world making all Monroeville becomes Monrolasia and everything is like a fairy tale, but she did not count that when that happens also her personality would have a change turning her into the evil stepmother of the story, also would destroy Andalasia and everything it represents.

    Desencantada-605975075-large.jpg

    Desencantada-801740058-large.jpg

What I liked the most is to see all the characters again and that the cast was the same from the first movie and all of them were just as I remembered them (I haven’t seen Enchanted for a long time) except for Morgan who in 2007 was played by Rachel Covey and this time by another actress named Gabriella Baldacchino, who really has an amazing resemblance. The rest are played by the same actors: Giselle (Amy Adams), Robert (Patrick Dempsey), King Edward (James Marsden) and Nancy who is now Queen (Idina Menzel). The antagonist is Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph) typical villain of a teen movie, I mean she organizes events, controls and knows everything that happens in Monroeville, you can say she is like a queen 👑 of today.

The photography is spectacular, a fairy tale as well as the costumes very appropriate to the story. The performance of Amy Adams is excellent, as if the years had not passed for Giselle but now with an evil side to which she resists. This movie has scenes in which you think you are watching another princess story, like Cinderella or Snow White.

    Desencantada-731823243-large.jpg

    Desencantada-445816047-large.jpg

On this occasion I can’t say that I liked all the songs, it seemed to me that there was an excess of them, there came a point where I thought “again” but I kept watching because I wanted to know how it ended, although in these movies you know that nothing bad is going to happen to the protagonists and that the problems will be solved, they will learn lessons and live happily ever after. The magic of these stories is in the development, in the situations these characters have to go through to get to the end.

If I make a comparison with the first movie, I like the 2007 one better, I don’t know if it is because although I like the story of Disenchanted because it keeps the magic and has animated fragments just like the first one and it is very colorful, as I said, it seemed to me that it is too much musical for my taste. I really want to see Enchanted again, because what I remember is that the story is fantastic and I loved the songs even when the animals help her to tidy up the house 😅.

  4. A strange sequel: Disenchanted [ESP/ING]@cami.rojas1213d

    ¡Hola, Comunidad de Hive!

    Hello, Hive Commnunity!

    Fuente

Disney lately is betting on presenting us with sequels or live action of its most emblematic classics, in 2022 we knew that we would have a sequel to Enchanted, that movie that showed us how a princess of a fairy tale, Giselle, ends up in Manhattan and faces a world she does not know; the magic of Enchanted was to present the clichés of some Disney classics and show that in real life it is not like that. Enchanted became the favorite movie of many, now Disney presents the continuation of this story that seemed to have had a closure many years ago.

Disenchanted resumes the life of Giselle with her family: Robert, Morgan and a new little member, Sofia; 15 years have passed since the happy ending, this time the family moves to a small town called Monroeville where they hope to have a happy life but Morgan is not very happy with this decision and finds it hard to adapt to this new place, so much so that he ends up having many problems with Giselle, so she wants to have a fairy tale life but she ends up becoming an evil stepmother.

Actually, I was afraid to see this movie, since Enchanted is one of those movies that you want to remember just where they left off; but when it came out, I was happy to see it. Honestly the plot turns out to be easy to identify with because we are no longer talking about the magic of fairy tales but about how difficult it is to maintain happiness in real life; we are shown Giselle in search of that life she loved so much in her native place and it results in problems that she will have to solve.

This movie, again chooses to use those characteristics of classics like Cinderella and Snow White, but this time I feel it doesn't have the same vibe as before; it's a story that builds little by little and it's entertaining if you like princess movies as I do BUT I feel it's not the same, even for me in some occasions it became boring.

One of the things that I liked the least were the songs, for me the songs from the first movie are iconic, I still listen to them from time to time and in this movie I feel that none of them were as good, I don't understand what happened in this movie but the songs didn't stay with me.

    Fuente

Talking about the characters, we retake most of them, but we meet new ones. Honestly, in the case of Giselle we can see her in a new facet trying to find that perfection and happiness worthy of a fairy tale; but when she becomes the wicked stepmother she has a very interesting twist, I really liked her evil role and she gave a perfect touch to the movie.

Morgan on the other hand, represents a facet of a teenager looking for a way and trying to adapt to this new destiny for her, sometimes you feel that it can stress you a little but taking into account the path of her character, it is understandable. One character that I didn't understand where they took him was Robert, I feel he was scattered and with little protagonism during the whole movie.

A new character and on the evil side we have Malvina, one of those perfectionist people but when the spell falls directly she confronts Giselle it becomes very comical. We also have Prince Edward and Nancy back, they represent that essence left in the first movie and I really loved them.

Disenchanted is a sequel that we didn't really expect and that some of us didn't need, and what Disney presents us with is nice but it did have aspects that I didn't like, like the songs and the plot feeling a little weak and boring in some parts. But if there is something that saves this movie is Giselle, she still has that charm and I loved the twist of her character.

If you are fans of Enchanted like me, Disenchanted you might not like it too much but it is a nice movie at the end of the day, and the ending ends up being very nice, I hope the path of this story had an ending with this movie.

Hello, people of the Internet! It's no secret that I'm picky about the products I consume and that's why I often don't like the things I see to review, because art is becoming less and less art and more and more product, it happens in music, it happens in films and fortunately it doesn't happen so much in plastic art and photography (I still have that to be ecstatic about). "Disenchanted" is no exception to today's cinematic crap and I'll explain why:

    image.png

Some people say that the plot of this film is innovative, I don't think so, in the first film, Giselle is terrified and disappointed at first sight with the "real world" (to call it somehow) however, even knowing that in this world "happily ever after" doesn't happen in all cases, she decides to stay with Patrick and her daughter in this world. For the sequel, she strangely starts to feel sad with the life they have and to miss how easy everything was in Andalasia, part of the problem is Morgan, who as a teenager, is a problematic girl, that's the first aspect that bothers me, this cliché, the typical and stereotypical vision of teenagers in cinema, they must always be rebellious, problematic, addicted to the mobile phone, moody... most teenagers are not like that, they have lapses of time when maybe they show this way, but that doesn't define their personality. Despite Morgan and his attitude being the biggest problem, Giselle comes up with the best idea to fix things, (get Morgan and her husband out of the city where they have lived all their lives and where they feel comfortable, and where he still works) to move to a city that looks like Andalasia (only in appearance, of course) It doesn't make the slightest sense! It makes even worse that Robert goes along with the idea.

    image.png

    Fuente

Not content with this, they move into a house that is not even remotely finished and in fact is dangerous as the electrical installation is not finished (cinematically it can be explained as this is to increase Morgan's disdain to move out of town) but honestly it doesn't make sense if we stop to think about it. And if the plot itself doesn't make sense... we're off to a pretty bad start.

    2gsjgna1uruvGBHDnRaj2zVCcpeJW4jyLMe4SBCPPo2JHug8oMLYAqQS7mEn9Fi4hhpEDQFH2zSLhgdExg8DZfZjq8Ncv6Dw4gziqu2pYYitcfZuCS.png

It's a shame that characters like Edward and Nancy (who were quite important in the previous film) are practically filler characters here. The scenes of Edward making a fool of himself in Morolasia are totally unnecessary scenes, and if it wasn't for the final clock scene (where he apparently does something useful) he might as well not have been in the film at all and it wouldn't have made any difference to the plot. Talking about the clock scene... it seems absurd to me that the simple fact of locking the clock doesn't advance time, it doesn't make sense at all, and another thing I wanted to mention is the continuity error of the film. At the end of the first one, we are shown that Robert and Giselle apparently have some kind of atelier called Andalasia, however in this film that is not shown anywhere.

Now let's talk about the musical pieces 🤦: They were not bad, on the contrary, the music was very good, the choreographies and aesthetics were very careful and the costume design was excellent, the only thing I hated about this aspect was the quantity, there were too many songs! There was no rest for the viewer, it was one after another after another, and repeating the joke that in Adalasia they can't talk but sing, it was a nightmare. 16 songs in total in a short space of time, it has about 6 songs more than its predecessor, they really overdid it in that respect.

Now, not everything about this film sucks, the cinematography is beautiful, the colour palette is precisely that of a fairy tale, and so is Monroville's aesthetic. I really liked the colour palette they worked into both villains (I won't give too much context so as not to make spoilers) and the lighting was beautiful too, as well as the on-screen shots.

    image.png

The performances were also very good, especially that of Amy (Giselle) who in this film had to play an ambiguous character within a single person (I don't want to give more details to avoid spoilers). I also liked some nods to some Disney stories and the previous film, that was good too.

I found the film moderately entertaining but not good, it lacks a sense of plot and continuity and falls into a tangle of clichés that, although in the first film they were justified because they were satirized, here for the second time they are already annoying.

And well, people, that's all for today's post, I hope you liked it. Thank you very much as always for supporting my work, I welcome new readers, I love you all very much, I send you a hug and I'll see you in another post.

  6. Disenchanted Spills The Secret of Love Power@artgirl1282d

Ah my dears, last night I finished watching Disenchanted. It's the sequel to the Disney film Enchanted. When you see it you can definitely enjoy a different side of the magical world of Andalasia and the reel/real world.

What am I saying you might ask? Well if you haven't seen the film I'm talking about then I suggest you also watch it. After all I think it can qualify as a Christmas movie for all the magic it has.

    source

Would you like to know more about this? Well then proceed below. 😀

    WARNING: Some spoilers ahead.

    The Major Cast

Say hello to two familiar faces we've watched in Enchanted, and more! Yeah the pair looks older now of course but such is life. 😁

    ✨ Amy Adams plays Giselle

A character from the magical world of Andalasia who ended up living in New York for years.

    ### ✨ Patrick Dempsey plays Robert The lawyer husband of Giselle.
    ### ✨ Gabriella Baldacchino plays Morgan She is the daughter of Robert and the stepdaughter of Giselle.
    ### ✨ Maya Rudolph plays Malvina This woman is the supposed community leader of Monroeville.

    The Trailer / Synopsis

Here you go, watch this trailer.

Now that I've seen the movie, I can say this is a concise visual summary.

    @artgirl's Review of Disenchanted

We've all been there, the state of being disenchanted with life. As bitter adults we always bewail how life can be cruel and heart-crushing. Then again life is what we make it, is it not? 😉

    ◙ Characters & Story

In this movie, we see what can happen when we bring an entire magical world into our reality. It's a reminder of that old cliché: Be careful what you wish for.

    source

The film starts off as one of those fairytales, cute and with animated animals. And then we find out there is something more after Giselle's "happily ever after" at the end of Enchanted. (You can read my review of that movie HERE.)

Well it was good to know she's still the same lovable and always positive character despite living in New York for a decade. It's very hard to be such a person in this world, especially when almost everyone around you is so focused on the negative. People can easily bring you down from feeling ecstatic to be alive.

Yes, it is no wonder she found it hard to live outside of Andalasia despite her best efforts. Constantly being denied, abused and/or beaten down can crush someone's weak spirit. Surprisingly she is strong enough to withstand the real world.

Heh, there aren't enough happy/positive people like her anymore. Like minded individuals will definitely feel the same way she does especially when thrown in a city like New York. It's what drove their family to eventually move out. (Good move I say. People can lead more happier/relaxed lives whenever we are surrounded by many plants. Don't believe me? Notice how people in suburbs or rural areas are usually much nicer than city folks.)

    source

The story is not that bad at all. All I can say is people who have not experienced wanting to find and actually bring about more goodness in this world might not appreciate Disenchanted.

Hey it's always the case. Being shown the truth makes us hate the messenger. (This is why most people settle with candy coated lies/fake news rather than facing and accepting the painful truth/facts.)

As a lover of fantasy and sci-fi stories I think this film is perfect for jaded people who want to believe there's more to being human. There is hope out there, we just have to collectively act and make it real. It's not easy but it can be done if we choose to.

While I watched the film, some scenes made me cry and other ones made me fascinated. I dunno about you but the story makes me think there's no hardships in their fantasy land. 😂 Like, everything seems to always end in happiness everyday at Andalasia. Come on, that's such a paradise if it's real eh? (But hey we can make it a reality if we're all happy and loving/caring towards each other.)

Probably it's the reason why there are people saying it's not as good as Enchanted. We all know real life is hard and people can be cruel. Most adults (or city folks?) have become disillusioned and hardened by unpleasant experiences . This is why many of us are constantly trying to escape and wish to be "somewhere else", just like Giselle.

    source

Watching this and seeing what happens to someone in real life dealing with magical consequences can leave a bad taste in our mouths. It makes fairytales somewhat disgusting yet fascinating.

Yes Giselle eventually became an evil stepmother. What do you expect when you meddle with life using magic? 😂 The rest of the characters became quite a caricature of their real selves though. Oh but don't fret, again love is the answer. ♥️

Yes, I too would have rolled my eyes at this cliché. That's when I didn't understand it. (No it's not true love's kiss this time but the universal kind. 😆) Hardships and enough life experience is one way of clearly seeing this truth. This month I finally really know why most stories in the world say the same thing. 😉

Disenchanted has it's own charm so I'd say it's not that bad at all. The secret is out, ladies and gentlemen. Basically how to get back to love and become better humans is what this movie is all about. (Maybe a sort of "return to innocence" or idealistic point of view. 🤷)

    ◙ Acting, Singing and Dancing

Well I like how Giselle transitions from good to bad. Haha. Always fun to see such in movies. Amy Adams did it really well.

Am not much of a fan of the song and dance routines in this one but it's still entertaining enough to watch.

    source

◙ Cinematography, Production Design, CGI & Music

2022 has not been as easy as I thought it would be, thus it taught me a very important lesson. Love is what makes life worth living. Another cliché you might say but there is indeed a truth in it.

Our life on Earth is all about spiritual development or enlightenment, so they say. Returning to love and relearning how to become full of it is our goal. Thus one of the music in this movie is the answer to the question I have been thinking about for quite a while now.

    Say hello to Love Power!

Yeah I know people can scoff at this but it's one way of being more loving indeed. Love (or compassion) and the lack of it is usually what causes the pain and problems in our lives. Think about it and tell me if it's true for you too.

Look back and remember, when we were younger, we were always happier as a child right? Why do you think so? I believe it's because most of us were loved, cherished and taken cared of. And then we grow up and whoa! What happened to us? 💔

In terms of the movie, look what happened to Giselle. This is why the music in this film is apt and fun to listen to as well! For example, the song "Badder" is really entertaining! Very Disney. 😁

    source

Compared to Enchanted, I can say production design is top notch as usual. The costumes and set design are great! The magical Monroeville gives off a vibe of living in the 18th century.

CGI is so much better too! It has definitely improved, finally. One scene even reminded me of Harry Potter. 😆

In terms of cinematography I think the first movie surpasses this one. Although I like how it has a more natural vibe because it's suburban. Trees and living near nature will always beat life in a concrete jungle.

    ◙ Rating

So, let me now give you my movie rating.

    • Characters & Story: 8
    • Acting, Singing & Dancing: 7
    • Cinematography, Production Design & Music: 9

    Final Rating: 8

Well, that's a point lower than it's predecessor but that's how it is. 😉

How about you, have you seen Disenchanted? Which part do you like best? 😁 Anyway, Merry Christmas!

    XOXO, @artgirl

  7. Beyond Happily Ever After? —Review Of Disney's Disenchanted (2022)@kemmyb1293d

    Source and edited with Canva

When I watched Enchanted (2007), it was an entertaining romance and musical. I admired Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden and Idina Menzel's performances in it. In my opinion, I felt the film ended well and there was no need for a sequel. Imagine my surprise when I found this recently released film on the streaming site displaying the same actors as in Enchanted.

Fifteen years after the first film, we are entertained further with a sequel titled Disenchanted (2022). I love Disney films and musicals so I immediately downloaded the flick to watch.

This fairytale musical and adventure is set about ten years after Enchanted. It focuses on Giselle (played by Amy Adams) who now lives in the city with her daughter, Sophia, her stepdaughter, Morgan who is a teenager and her husband, Robert Philip (played by Patrick Dempsey). Morgan makes Giselle unhappy with her teenage tantrums leading to their move to the suburbs, Monroeville.

The king and queen of Andalasia visit and give them a wishing wand that works only if wielded by a true Andalasian. The move does not improve Morgan's mood. She gets into a quarrel with Giselle declaring she's not her mother but stepmother.

Giselle feels terrible and tries to make things better by making a wish that Monroeville becomes a fairytale land. The wish takes effect but becomes a curse to Giselle as stepmothers are always wicked in fairytales. Will she succeed in changing the wish before the clock strikes midnight?

    Review

This sequel is just as magical and enchanting as the original film except for a few differences. It continues the flow of story and adventure from the first film displaying that there's life after happily ever after. Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey reprised their roles as the main characters and we are happy they have a baby and have aged a little which is reality.

The lessons in this sequel drive home that point - be careful what you wish for. I enjoyed the songs, especially the duelling duet between Amy Adams and Maya Rudolph titled Badder. It is melodious and catchy and these actresses performed it beautifully.

The cast chemistry is good and we like that Giselle and Roberts are still in love with each other. The cinematography, set designs, effects, costumes, choreography and songs are colourful and lovely. I enjoyed the intertwining of live-action and animation in some scenes. That's the work of good editing. A lot of effort has gone into crafting an impressive conclusion to this enchanting story.

Although there are some unhappy reviews of this film which I don't agree with, the only issue I find fault with is the storyline which is more fairytale than reality. The original was focused on the fairytale, how about we have more real stories in the happily ever after?

    Protagonist Becomes A Villain?

An interesting twist that I think is clever is where Gisele, the protagonist, somehow turns into a villain —the fairytale wicked stepmother, after making a wish and struggles to maintain her good side. This sequel already has a villain but this twist makes room for two distinct villains, and they compete to show that one is 'badder' than the other.

I'll say this is a commendable move but funny in an enjoyable way. The protagonist displays that people are not strictly classified into good and bad but a mix of both. Amy Adams did an excellent job acting these two distinct characters.

Overall, this sequel is an enjoyable watch. It is for Disney fans and people who love fairytales and magic. If you have not watched the original film, you don't miss much as Disenchanted is a good standalone. The story flows perfectly but still, it's better to watch Enchanted first.

I hope this sequel finally concludes Giselle and Robert's story. No more, Disney!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

The performances are good, especially that of Amy Adams when we see her with her alter ego having a conversation with herself, it's fun with incredible gestures.

I loved the large number of references that she has from Disney movies, such as Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast among others.

Without a doubt, it did not meet my expectations and I thought it would be more to my liking... or what do you think?

After so many years in the big city, Giselle feels that it is time to go for a better version of her dream life, away from the noise and tumult of New York, so with Robert on her side, and Morgan against her, they decide to move to a picturesque town called Monroeville (a small Andalasia according to Giselle), her new home... well, it's definitely something out of the ordinary we can say, you will say it too hahaha.

Morgan is now a teenager, the magic that she saw as great as a child after meeting Giselle is now a silly subject that more than making her happy has embittered her a bit... Giselle and Robert had a beautiful girl, a daughter of Andalasia as they say her godparents: Nancy and Edward repeatedly, is this a rift between Morgan and Giselle?

Things aren't getting better as the days go by, Robert is exhausted from having to commute from Monroeville to New York every day, Morgan now has to go to a new school where he didn't get off to a good start, and all of Giselle's attempts to improving Morgan's life ends in chaos and embarrassment for her, can things get any worse? The answer is yes HAHAHA

¿bueno?

A wish made at the wrong time will take Giselle's current life into a somewhat different fairy tale, and without noticing it, a new villain begins to be born from this story, because now, after so many bad things, being bad is... . Okay?

Disenchanted has aroused a lot of criticism since many felt disappointed by the way in which this story was presented, I cannot tell you that it is the best in the world, without lying, I tell you that sometimes the songs are silly and unnecessary, my mother fell asleep halfway through the movie, there are things that could have been improved and there are things that weren't necessary... It was cool to see the references to other princess tales in current history, you could find the fairies of sleeping beauty, the Cinderella's stepmother with her cat, the evil queen of Snow White, etc... but that doesn't mean it couldn't have been better.

Idina Menzel (Elsa in Frozen) performed 2 songs in the movie but many expected something better in terms of the themes presented... and yes.

Patrick Demsey and James Marsden as well as Idina were characters with little screen time compared to the main acts in the story, but it was nice to see them back in their roles 💓

How much would you give this movie? I think a 7 out of 10... although there are things that could have been better, I enjoyed watching it, I laughed a little when things started to turn upside down because, well, it was weird to see those twists hahaha... I wouldn't see it a thousand times, one was enough.

As she tries to break the spell with the help of her squirrel friend Peep, they both try to fight against turning evil but, there comes a time when Giselle turns totally evil and doesn't keep trying to break it and turns totally evil with Megan but instead a moment of lucidity tells Megan the truth and sends her to Andalasia to try to find a way to save them all. Once there, he realizes that Giselle's wish is taking all the magic out of Andalasia and that she is disappearing so he tries to revive Giselle's memory tree so that she can be herself again, which is quite magical and then he returns to the real world with Nancy to try to save Giselle and break the spell but, Giselle has become more evil than before, and breaks Megan's memory tree which is drawn on a paper but when she does, Giselle returns back to normal and apologizes to Megan for everything, then tries to break the spell but can't as Malvina held Megan hostage and threatens to kill her if everything goes back to normal, so Giselle gives up and throws her wand to the ground.

    image.png

Malvina steps on the wand and it breaks, so the hopes of breaking the spell fade and Giselle begins to collapse since it is about to strike 12 midnight and Andalasia is about to disappear, Giselle faints and Nancy sees with deep pain through a mirror as Edward also begins to die, as 12 chimes begin to strike Robert and Malvina's son go to the clock to try to stop the chimes, but are sabotaged by Malvina, however Megan manages to work magic with Giselle's wand, since before passing out she encourages Megan and tells her that she also belongs to Andalasia because she is her daughter, so she manages to break the spell and return everything to normal. Megan wakes up again in her bed and when she goes down, she sees Giselle serving Sofia in the kitchen and runs to hug her and thank her for breaking the spell, she also tells her that they remember him because they used real magic but that for others it will be like a sleep. Giselle apologizes to Malvina for everything, and they make up and after a while. Giselle and her family are now happy in Monroeville.

    My Opinion / Mi Opinión

I remember how much I liked the first part, which was released when I was 15 years old, so when it was announced I confess that I had great expectations. Although it is not the best film of all, it is good and it is entertaining to spend a good time watching it either alone or with the family. I really liked that the protagonists returned, and in my opinion they did an excellent job, for this installment the actress who plays Megan had to be changed for a younger one since the original interpreter looked too old for the role. I am a fan of the actresses Amy Adams and Idina Menzel so I was very pleased to see them back, and I was also pleased that this time Amy was also a producer on the film. The story, although a bit predictable in general, was good and I think they worked very well on the script. Something that I also liked is that Maya Rudolph has joined the cast since, in my opinion, she played the villain Malvina Monroe quite well since, although evil, she seemed very comical to me.

    image.png

I also liked the photography a lot, and I think they did a great job with the special effects, I feel like they did an excellent job as the effects are really good for a fantasy movie like this. I also have to commend the costume department as I completely loved the dresses that Amy wears throughout the movie, as well as Idina's costumes as Queen of Andalasia and also the one worn by Maya playing the evil Queen Malvina, I would say my dresses Amy's favorites are the one with the peacock feathers and also the red one, and in general, I also really liked the costumes of the other characters. Overall I liked a lot of scenes but my favorites would be the one where Megan meets a guy at the new school and falls in love with her, also the one where Giselle thanks Megan for saving everyone's lives.

    image.png

I think the soundtrack is what I liked the most about the movie, since not only is Amy Adams among the singers, but also Idina Menzel, who are quite talented in the industry. I would say that my favorite song is "Love Power" performed by Idina Menzel and that 3 versions were released on the soundtrack which are really beautiful and the score, composed by . I would like to recommend the film to those who have not yet had the opportunity to see it, because although as I said before, although it is not the best film of all, it is quite beautiful and in general it is enjoyable. I promise you won't get bored watching it.
