  1. Drops of God (2023): The Present - Season 2 Episode 1 - RECAP@skiptvads143d

    Source

Drops of God Season 2 Episode 1 got release a few days ago, I know this is a small drama a lot of ppl either dont know about or just dont care but I do enjoy it for some reason, like the first season wrapped everything up pretty nicely with Camille and Issai finally finding some peace after that intense wine competition and now here we are getting another letter from dead daddy Alexander Leger because apparently one season of his mind games was not enough for anyone involved. The episode is trying to do this whole artistic pivot thing going from the high energy wine battles we got used to in season 1 to this slow burn mystery vibe and Im still thinking if thats a smart move or just the writers not knowing what else to do with these characters outside of there fathers shadow because honestly this is the type of thing that remains as a mini series. The free diving scenes in Okinawa look absolutely gorgeous no doubt about it, all that blue water and silence showing us how empty Issai feels inside even though he won the estate or at least half of it witch should have been enough but clearly was not, but damn it takes forever to get anywhere with the actual story and at some point you start wondering if they are just padding the runtime with pretty shots of bubbles and water. The whole unlabeled bottle mystery is interesting on paper because it flips the script on Camille and Issai completely, she cannot taste anything from this perfect wine while he suddenly gets these crazy visions of floating in the ocean witch is the complete opposite of season 1 where she was the natural and he was the robot with facts and data about soil types and vineyards. That role reversal could have been cool to watch play out but then Camille goes and pours the rest of this priceless wine down the sink like a damn child throwing a tantrum because she did not get her magical vision moment, I get that she is trying to reject her fathers control from beyond the grave but come on that bottle could be the key to everything and you just trash it because your annoyed at a dead man who cannot even respond anymore.

Source The mystery itself turns into this fetch quest where Issai is running around talking to lawyers and auctioneers and old Spanish families and some lady with dementia in Marseilles, it feels like a video game side mission more than the intense wine drama we signed up for when we watched season 1 and the pacing just drags when it should be picking up speed and getting us excited about whats coming next for these two. Issai almost drowning twice in one episode to get clues is getting old real fast too like yeah we get it he is desperate and depressed and looking for meaning in his life after he literally told Camille she took everything from him but are we really going to watch him black out underwater every week for a whole season because that sounds exhausting, I thought the free diving stuff was beautiful and worked as a metaphor for his internal darkness but doing it over and over again just makes it feel repetitive instead of meaningful. The best part is when Camille finally shows up at the hospital after Issai nearly kills himself diving into a cave at 17 meters deep witch is insane without proper training but he said he have done like 40 before and pass out trying to do 50 so why pass out with a weak as 17m dive, but she is doing her sister stuff and she agrees to join the hunt not because she cares about the wine or her fathers games but because she does not want her brother to die chasing ghosts that might not even exist in the real world. That actually felt like real character growth for her and set up this buddy cop dynamic that could be interesting if they do not screw it up by making them fight every episode over stupid things, the chemistry between these two actors is still fantastic and probably the main reason to keep watching this thing even when the plot feels like its spinning its wheels trying to justify another season of content when the first one had such a satisfying ending for everyone involved except maybe the dead guy. Overall this premiere looks expensive as hell and the acting is solid especially the chemistry between Camille and Issai witch is what actually makes the story worth watching, but it feels like the show is trying to be two diferent things at once and those two vibes are fighting each other hard for control of the steering wheel.

    Source

Source The opening with Issai doing free diving in Okinawa is visually stunning but also confusing as hell because your not really sure what your watching at first, hes just sinking into this dark blue water trying to reach 50 meters on a single breath witch seems completely insane and dangerous for someone who is not a profesional diver with years of training under his belt. The show spends what feels like 10 minutes just watching him sink into the darkness and almost black out from lack of oxygen, its supposed to represent his internal emptiness and depression after winning the competition but losing his sense of purpose in life but honestly it just felt like the director wanted to show off how good there underwater camera work was. When Issai finally tastes the unlabeled wine later in the episode he gets this vision of the Sea of Tranquility witch is aparently the part of the moon where the Apollo astronauts landed back in the day, but its also just him floating in this calm ocean under moonlight and you cannot really tell if its the actual moon or just some weird coral or jellyfish being lit in a strange way by the underwater lights. The vision thing is interesting because in season 1 Camille was the one who got all the visions and memories from tasting wine while Issai was just a walking encyclopedia of facts and data, but now the roles are completely reversed like an UNO card and shes the one left in the dark tasting nothing while he gets transported to this beautiful peaceful place that he desperately needs in his life right now. The problem is Camille does not understand his vision and basically dismisses it as nonsense instead of taking him seriously and asking more questions about what he saw and why it matters to him so much, she treats him like a child who needs protecting instead of a partner who deserves respect and thats going to cause problems between them as the season goes on and they try to work together on this quest there father left behind.

    Source

Source The actual detective work part of the episode is where things really start to drag and lose momentum, how the fuck is he in so many different places in such a short amount of time, the episodes really didnt take in consideration the aspect of time, Issai talks to Talian the lawyer who points him to an auctioneer in Paris named Lecatra who then points to the Lopez family in Spain who finally point to this old widow named Audrey in Marseilles who has dementia and can barely remember her own husbands name let alone details about a wine bottle he bought 30 years ago on some trip. Its just breadcrumbs leading to more breadcrumbs and none of it feels urgent or exciting and he just gets to this dead end and though why not going diving the thing that almost killed me. Issai just keeps moving from place to place asking the same questions over and over again to people who dont have real answers for him witch gets boring fast compared to the high stakes blind tasting competitions from last season. The Spanish winemakers scene was kind of cool because it showed us a new location and they had a perfect opportunity to introduce a bit of more mystery but they just ditch it when the Spanish winemaker said immediately he didnt know anything about the two bottles without label, I mean nothing like a dead end, that make it felt rushed and underdeveloped like they didnt have time to really explore the culture or add some sauce to the mistery before moving on to the next clue in the chain. The whole episode feels like its setting up Issai as this self destructive character who will risk everything including his own life to find meaning and purpose again, but it also feels like the show is going to repeat this same beat over and over again every episode and that sounds like the perfect path to disaster if they dont switch things up soon and give us some actual progress on the mystery instead of just near death experiences.

![](https://i.imgur.com/r0yj9oi.png) The episode does have some strong moments that make me want to give it another chance but again I think Im bias since I liked the first season so much, the birthday dinner scene where Camille and Issai open there gift for each other and discover they both got the exact same thing was actually kind of cute and showed how connected these two are on a deeper level despite there cultural diferences and the fact that they barely knew each other a few years ago. The journalist interview where Camille gets compared to her father and told she is just living in his shadow was predictable how it was going to end the moment she got with the spicy questions and suggestion that all lead to Caminlle not been enough or at the same level of her father, you could see how much it hurt her even though she tried to play it cool and act like she didnt care what this person thought about her work on the vineyard, that scene set up her main struggle for the season witch is going to be breaking free from Alexander Legers legacy and proving shes her own person with her own ideas about wine. The ending where Camille shows up at the hospital and agrees to help Issai find the origin of the wine is the strongest part of the episode but it also feels force, in my opinion she not only did it to avoid seen Issai kill himself but to get away from the vineyard because she is not that into it I guess, this shifts there relationship from rivals to partners and gives them both a reason to work together again, she is not doing it for her father or for the wine itself but because she really cares about her brother and does not want to see him destroy himself chasing something that might not even be real in the end. I am going to give this season a few more episodes to see where its going and whether the mystery pays off in a satisfying way but right now I am not totaly sold on this detective treasure hunt format after season 1 gave us such a perfect ending that didnt need a sequel at all, it feels like they are undoing all that peace and closure just to justify another season that can turn into something frustrating when you think about how rare it is to get a good ending these days, for me a classic 7 out of 10 for now but that could go up or down depending on where episode 2. ![](https://i.imgur.com/uwwnjtd.png)

    Drops of God: All or Nothing – Season 1 – Episode 8 – Recap INTRODUCTION - www.skiptvads.blog
Episode 8 of Drop Of Gods leave me mad but at the same time was a great episode, I don't want to discourage you from this episode because it was GOOD, I'm more mad about the ending of the series/season, I say this because I doubt there will be a second season, if we think about it Issei is with Yurika and can now start his Sommelier business with the vast collection of Wine he got from his sister Camille, Camille is with Thomas and put to sale her part of his father Wine collection, the contest for Alexander Ledger inheritance is finish, Lorenzo and Miyabi will continue the Ledger Guide after Camille ask them to, the "villains" Luca and Honoka are alone after failing their motives, what is to do next on the series? I really think they F it up and crunch too much of the story in eight episodes, unless a new challenge comes up that expand the TV series there probably wont be a second season, worst part is if they decouple it from the manga story line but it feels this was the happy ending for everyone and went separate ways. I did some research online wondering if there will be a second season but there is no official announcement or even rumor's just dumb speculation saying there will "probably" be a second season because the series did so good.

With the speculation of season 2 aside, it was a great episode, although a resume of episode 7 or a bit predictable since it was a happy ending episode, everyone got what they wanted and the truth about Issei real father came up but between Camille and Issei I don't understand why Alexander gave her the advantage on the last test, he send them to find the Drops of God in his cellar, a "wine" that he have chosen, I say a Wine because he says "my cellar is yours, explore it" but then it was never a bottle of wine, Drops of God was a memory from Camille childhood, so why giving her an advantage on the last test, Issei would never find out about that, Alexander train Issei because he couldn't train Camille her mother got between them so its not like he choose Issei to be the one, at the end got them both into this quest, I wonder if he did it assuming Issei would crush Camille from the start and her only hope to win was the last test?? This is the reason why I think they mess up the series if there is no continuation, there are a lot of questions after the end of why Alexander came up with the contest, it was never about the wine it was about his children but did he really had a preference between them? or did he only wanted to mess up with their mothers? Honoka and Marianne make Alexander life impossible at some point.

Yurika finally found Hirokazu, Issei's step father; working in construction at this time, he has been wondering from one place to another trying to survive in the country side, away from the Tomine family and his past, Japanese is a very proud culture and he was a bit down because he felt like an impostor who doesn't fit in Issei life, although Yurika make him understand that's not the case, old fox Hirokazu notice she and Issei are together.

    Source

Before he died, Alexander left a letter to Phillipe asking him to host one of the last contest he had for Camille and Issei, twisted scenario where Honoka, Marianne, Hirokazu and Alexander met, the test was not the important part of this scene but the place and circumstances, after they test was over they had dinner, Issei catch and cook fish for them and Philippe tells them the story of how their parents met on that very same place but he already knew Alexander was his father, latter on to avoid making a scene or having Camille make a scene he tells her everything and she assume the obvious that Alexander knew they were both his, Issei kept feeling down about Alexander probably just seen him as a bastard and she kept thinking Alexander was a bastard for putting his children on a contest to compete over his inheritance. For the most part of the series every time Camille thought about his father or Issei that infuriate her very much.

    Source

Drops of God, finally is not just a metaphor anymore, the test at Philippe vine yard was to find the perfect mix to make a wine he have chosen, a wine Philippe made, but then Alexander pull another test from his ass, find the Drops of God, explore my cellar, Camille got mad as fuck, she now knows Issei is her brother so she took him to Alexander place and both got drunk not giving a fuck about the last test but still care because if they both quit which was Camille premature decision everything would go to Luca and she would not aloud it.

    Source

Drops of God was just a memory from Camille childhood, the correct answer to the test was The Rain, I think that stab Issei again, why would Alexander do that to him? but again it was probably to balance the scale if Camille ever get so far on the contest against Issei, Camille never really wanted the inheritance at first then finds out about how much is it so obviously decided to participate on the contest but still towards the end never really wanted to follow Alexander steps so she sold probably half of the wine collection making Luca go to the auction and fight against others buyers and seems she sends half of the collection to Issei, she probably still felt it was unfair what Alexander did so at the end she gave the finger to Luca and Alexander, Issei on his part also rebelled against his mother and told her the only reason he would not make the truth public is because Alexander was never his father, his real father is Hirokazu.

    Drops of God: All or Nothing – Season 1 – Episode 8 – Recap CONCLUSION - www.skiptvads.blog

After eight episodes of multiple test its finally over, to me it looks like a happy ending with Camille and Issei been brothers and friends but the truth is that their father Alexander had a preference for her, on the last wine they had to discover and the meaning of Drop of God, Camille always had an advantage, Issei also mention it that he was next to Alexander but never show him affection any type, not as a teacher obviously not as his father its like the entire story was made to develop a happy ending at expenses of Issei suffering, at least he has his step father that loves him and now a girlfriend.

Today I'm feeling very sick but still wanted to show up, had this post in the bag waiting to release, the strategy is working, having posts ready to go in case something comes up.

  3. Drops of God: Legacy – Season 1 – Episode 6 – Recap@skiptvads1015d

    Source

    Drops of God: Legacy – Season 1 – Episode 6 – Recap INTRODUCTION - www.skiptvads.blog
As every other Episode, Episode Six of Drops of God is a storm of mix feelings, at times its very confuse to understand what Alexander was thinking when he thought about all this test and contest, on one side I can see him as a mad man who just want to complicate his children life's more than it is, he never spend time with them as a father when they were adults and now that he is dead may be he came up with this contest to make their life's miserable or he was really a philosophical guy who truly wanted to expand their knowledge and give them the opportunity to continue with his business and legacy but wanted them to be prepare for what was next.

Camille at first was the little ugly duckling, she couldn't smell or taste alcohol but always had that hidden talent, she could turn out to be a great sommelier, she proves himself on this episode because it was not about the taste or smell of the wine, it was the experience,  during the series she and her father have mention how a wine can make you feel happy or sad, once she even said she heard music, I think that's possible changing someone's mood with wine or any other drink depending one what's that make the person react is it the smell, taste or a combination of both, at the end its all a chemistry, the human body can be very impulsive and react different ways to certain combinations of flavor and smell so it was never about the fruits and flowers on the painting it was about the story behind both the painting and the wine Alexander choose to match the painting.

There is something that I should have seen coming and it was Luca interest on the Ledger Guide, on the previous episode he asks Camille to continue with it, I knew it was a great business for him but never though he was using Camille all this time just for the Ledger, I bought the story of how good of a friend he was for Alexander but the truth is that he was doing all this for his own benefit, he knew Camille had no chance against Issei so may be he thought is she wins great I get a hold at Alexander wine collection and she continues with the Ledger that was the first target but then if she doesn't win at least get her to continue with the Ledger Guide so he can keep getting profits from the Ledger Guide also power as all the winemakers on the guide fear Alexander, at least that was the description given by Elisabetta, after the trip to Italy looking for this wine that match the flavors of the painting and understanding it was about the experience and not the flavor or smell, Camille also understood that the Ledger Guide was dangerous and hold too much power over wine makers so she didn't want to continue it, she told Luca it was her final decision and this is when he who her his true face, got mad as fuck, yell at her, told her how he would make sure she get crush by Issei and loose, throw her out of his restaurant and show her he was manipulating her all this time.

Episodes are not more balance between Issei and Camille, at first it was all Camille but on this episode we get more drama from the Tomine Diamonds, with his father gone Issei start investigating the reasons and how his parents got together to find out his real father is Alexander, without physicals proof yet but things start to make sense so he put his mother Honka "on the horns of a dilemma" either she tells him the truth or he takes his father comb for a DNA test and figure out the truth by himself, she had to give in to keep it a secret just between them to avoid public shame since she is part of a very proud family.

Issei goes savage mode on his mother Honoka, when she asks if he have heard anything from his father he answers "the one who's dead or the one who's disappeared?" probably the worst slam down of all episodes so far and its not because she lied to him, this is the result of many years of resentment, the way she treat his father and him too, how cold she is all the time like she doesn't enjoy been with any of them, this when he threat her to take his father comb for a DNA test or she tells him the truth, she didn't have to say a word after she took the comb from his hands so its true, Issei father is Alexander.

    Source

Lucky for Issei life takes from him but also gives him happiness back, I don't know how because I consider it too fast but may be he just like him, the way he talks, acts, cook, he has all the swag to pick up girls although Issei doesn't talk too much but Yurika, the reporter that was covering his story now helping him to locate his father, falls for him and they match that day, it was not all dark clouds for Issei.

    Source

Camille decided to go to Italy, Milan, since the painting his father choose for the contest is from Fede Galizia, she takes Lorenzo with her and stay at a local house that servers as motel, they ask the owner Elisabetta where they could find the Galizia's house and she answer "...fascinating, a lot to learn" like she probably knew something they didn't, but they got no where so Elisabetta told her to be persistent, Camille didn't mean it the wrong way but then she push wine makers into let her taste their wines using the Ledger Guide name as a method of pressure so they all accept without asking many questions. When Elisabetta find out about it she was pissed at Camille and her father, saying they were bullies using the Ledger Guide power against wine makers but their thoughts change after Camille taste Elisabetta family wine and discover the real connection between the painting and a bottle of wine, it was Elisabetta's family wine Casa dei Fossati, it was a great story how Alexander compare Elisabetta and her father bond with Fede and her father Nunzio, this two pair of father and daughter work together to produce a master piece, one in a bottle of wine and the other on a painting.

    Source

Camille never saw this coming, she basically gets assaulted by Lucas after she insisted not to continue with the Ledger Guide, on her trip to Italy she finds out and think that the Guide have ruin many peoples life, it holds too much power probably same as his father felt there was a monopoly in France when he was trying to become a professional and exactly what force him to go to Japan to start a new market, Lucas goes all savage and tells Camille he will make sure she gets defeated by Issei but what he doesn't know is that Issei finds out she is his step sister and that will probably bring them close and work together, Issei looks like a nice guy and honest so that's probably how he will react when he tells Camille the truth about Alexander been their father.

    www.skiptvads.blog - tv series divider

    Drops of God: Legacy – Season 1 – Episode 6 – Recap CONCLUSION - www.skiptvads.blog

The reason for the contest is now more clear than before with Issei confirm his father is Alexander, also the fact that Camille find out how powerful the Ledger Guide is, this was probably planned by Alexander too as its the same reason why he went to Japan and start a new market when there was a monopoly in France that would not let him grew his ideas probably he wanted his son and daughter to learn this and continue his legacy with a better direction, at first the contest look like a twisted plan to make them miserable and fight each other for a prize but now its looking like he want to bring them closer, he never had either the opportunity or the words to achieve this since he was push out by both Honoka and Marianne, Issei and Camille mothers, so he build and empire that will unite them in the future.

  4. Drops of God - Passion for wine | Mini Serie Review [En-Es]@jcrodriguez1089d

Uncork a bottle of wine and sit back, take in the aroma, texture and elements of a drink. That's what you'll want to do while watching this intense eight-episode miniseries.

    Drops.jpg

    Source - Edited in Canva.com & Photoshop

It took me about a week to watch the miniseries because I was busy with other personal matters, thank goodness I watched it slowly, I think that's the best way to enjoy it, like a glass of good wine, absorbing the information that each episode brings us, making it move forward with a lot of aroma of passion.

In the end titles of each episode we are informed that this is an adaptation of a Manga. The Japanese name was very difficult to remember, I don't consume that kind of productions either, so I don't know how faithful the adaptation will be, the changes, the rhythm and the development of the story.

Being a co-production between France and Japan, with more French capital, I imagine that the main difference with the manga must be that the story gives more space to Camille's character. This seems positive to me, it gives a more cosmopolitan tone to the story, although I find it exaggerated how the TV newscasts give the news of the world of wine.

In the poster they look like the three main protagonists. three? But in the poster there are only two people. That's because the other main protagonist is Wine, that drink with a millenary history that at some point in our past was qualified as a drink of gods, which can only be enjoyed to the fullest, if you have a trained palate.

There are many stories in literature or cinema, where wine plays an important role. Among the movies I remember at the moment are Sideways, A Walk in the Clouds and Days of Wine and Roses, each from different decades, but they are the ones I remember most clearly, because they are three excellent movies that I recommend watching if you want to see other stories related to wine, for better or for worse.

    What is the plot?

Millionaire winemaker Alexandre Léger, known for being the author of the Léger Wine Guide, is about to die in a clinic in Japan, where he lives , so he contacts his daughter Camille Léger, in France, whom he has not seen since she was a child. She is the legitimate heir, but in his will, Alexander left clear instructions for her to dispute the millionaire inheritance in a kind of competition against Issei Tomine, a young Japanese man, belonging to an important conservative family in Japan. Issei has been Alexander's best apprentice and has worked alongside him for the past few years. The battle for the Léger fortune has begun. Which of the two will win: the girl who has to start from scratch to train her shovel or the young expert? But the most important question is: Why is Alexander putting his daughter in competition with someone he doesn't know? What secret will be revealed?

The story falls into the category of drama, but also plays with elements of suspense, managing to make us feel in absolute tension in the disputes of the different challenges that the two aspirants must overcome to keep the inheritance. Even in the training moments of Camille, who drags a childhood trauma and can not consume alcoholic beverages or certain foods, because she bleeds from the nose and faints.

Of course, the romantic factor is also present, both characters will have their own way to find the love of their lives, just as love (and deception) is what gives rise to all the events we see. Love is always the engine that sets good stories in motion.

Camille has to fight against her mind, with that trauma that makes her unhappy, she doesn't forgive that her father didn't get in touch with her earlier, they were very close and since she was little she proved to have a kind of superpower to taste wines. Camille has to start making important decisions, the personal collection of inherited wines, worth millions of dollars. The competition will be to choose the same path as her father or to make a difference.

Issei's struggle is different, he is a very confident young man, he is a wine expert, he has experience after years of working with Alexander. The challenge of facing Camille, who seems to have a natural gift, plus the pressure from his parents and grandfather to abandon the competition and devote himself to the family business, will push him to rethink his life, his code, his tradition and discover something very important about himself.

Both characters will have to overcome obstacles, but the essential thing is that each one will have a process of maturation, having to take the reins of his life and make decisions that may be difficult, but necessary. I found the plot centered on Tomine the most interesting, perhaps because Camille's love story is built around the usual clichés.

    The world of wine.

I am not an oenologist, nor a taster, but it is something that always caught my attention, I was curious to understand how these people can distinguish and determine what is excellent, because I do not have the palate trained to distinguish so many elements that make up the elaboration of a wine. I just taste them and if I like it, it works for me.

A red wine with a selection of cheeses and olives, I find exquisite to taste. A few years ago I acquired a small book called Wine Manual, written by Miro Popic and it helped me to understand some concepts, which wine to choose with certain foods and even the way of elaboration, but so much elegance and label, creates questions in my mind.

Why my doubts? Last month I read a news item about the producers of a TV show who bought the cheapest wine they found in the supermarket, changed the label for one they invented themselves and submitted it to a prestigious competition, where expert tasters gave it a high score and ended up winning the contest. So I wonder: is all this science true or just like modern art, the valuation and prestige given by wine tasters is a complete farce. Any wine experts to clarify the doubts?

Drops of God is a fascinating miniseries about two people in a fierce battle for a fortune in wine and property, unaware that what separates them is what will unite their lives forever.

It is available on Apple+. I look forward to your comments.

Drops of God: Foundation - Season 1 Episode 4 RECAP INTRODUCTION - https://skiptvads.blog
Camille didn't exactly start this competition with the right foot but there is more to come, things between her and Thomas has turn a bit tense now that she has started to directly show her feelings for him different than what he has been doing so far, he shows just too much interest on her to win the contest and has been doing what ever he can from taking her for hours drive trip to find a $10k bottle for her to taste or go to Tokyo just because he can be of big "help" for her, Thomas is just avoiding the big question, does he feel anything for her or not?

Regarding the contest itself so far Camille is no match for Issei, he is well trained, has a lot of experience at least compare to her plus he is very focus, its a one man army that works like a very well maintained machinery, but there are a few events happening that can tip him over a bit from his mother and grandfather not approving him competing for Alexander's heritance and now his father that just had enough of the Tomine Diamonds, he had enough of been beaten down and diminish by Honoka every time she wants when he has always been there for her. Obvious answers most of the time are not the best, at first I though ok Alexander thought he had no one to leave his heritance to so he took Issei like the son he never had and that's why got him into the contest but its more complex than that and on this episode a lot is revealed, Issei never question this neither but he was actually trying to learn more about his "father" Hirokazu, Issei starts to peek into the truth about why he is really into this contest.

On this episode we will learn more about Alexander, how Honoka and Hirozaku became his students and how Issei end up as a participant of this great contest for the prize of probably the most value wine collection in the world, on this Tv Series. For this the series will show a younger version of this three characters, times when Honoka use to smile and a young Hirozaku for ever in love with her, Alexander as usual reckless and brave.

On the picture above there is Alexander on the left holding a wine bottle, Honoka in the middle and Hirozaku on the right, this picture is epic like they both competing for her but it was never a competition, Honoka and Hirozaku went to Phillip's vineyard to taste rare wine and learn more about it, even meet young Thomas and that's probably the very same table where Camille use to train with his father, back in the day there were some things that we build to last for ever like that table. Alexander was ask by Honoka to show them rare wine with character and he took the challenge.

    Source

Hirozaku was in Honoka's for ever friend zone but he was always there for here no matter the situation, until this point of the episode there is not much to say about them other than that, he was next to her mostly where ever she goes, on 1991 after Alexander failed to graduate, from what I think it was a Professional Sommelier, he failed to present his Thesis after loosing control on his interview talking about how there is a Wine Monopoly in France, Alexander was basically force to look for a new horizon ending up giving Enology classes in Japan, guess who sing up as son as she saw the name on the board, Honoka sing up and Hirozaku follow.

    Source

Alexander was very passionate about wine and anything related to it, not every one is that passionate about something, for example I might be passionate about computers but I might not have the skill set to teach others what I already know, Alexander did take the time to elevate his students knowledge but his methods were not well seen among the University, until eventually Hirozaku ended up drunk at the University campus after one of Alexander after hour classes, he offer to take Honoka home but she refuse and tell him to go if he wanted, she was going to stay, the man had enough and was heart broken. It seems Honoka has always been selfish, we humans are selfish by nature but looks like Honoka have never hit rock bottom or needed from others so she didn't put that much attention into those who surround her.

Alexander class was terminated after the incident with Hirozaku, the University decided it was because of Alexander methods of teaching after hours that students were setting the wrong example.

    Source

Liar liar, pants on fire! Issei is looking for his dad, trying to figure out what really happen to him, the reason why he left since at first he thought it was about and argument they had. I previously mention how until Episode three it was all about Camille well its not anymore, Camille and Issei roads are starting to cross. With Issei investigating his father and mother past he stumble to a photo that shows his mother, father and Alexander together, but when he ask his mother Honoka, her answer was she have never been into wine, it was his father who ask Alexander for a photo. Honoka was in love with Alexander and eventually seduce him, they ended having an affair, Alexander was a wild soul so he goes with the flow until he got Marianne pregnant, Honoka felt rejected but Hirozaku was there for her, Honoka also got pregnant but so far it has not been revel if Alexander ever knew, at the end Honoka tells Hirozaku she was pregnant both knew who the father was and he took the baby, that baby was Issei who is now competing against his step sister for their father inheritance. https://skiptvads.blog - tv series divider

    FATAL ATTRACTION S01E02 CONCLUSION - www.skiptvads.blog

I cant expect less from a manga master piece like Drops of God, I like how things can be predictable but not everything is reveal at once, there are still parts to the story that havent been clear out, for the viewer we now are aware that Issei and Camille are step brothers but there still that part where they find out, how they going to react, I think both will take it easy besides they dont hate each other although Camille feels insulted at some point that she is been put to compete with someone who is not family, Issei on the other hand looks very peaceful, the hot sauce is what will Honoka do when the truth is reveal, a many years secret that can hit the press and let her proud father know she had an affair got pregnant and not by her husband, for anyone who have read the manga none of this is a secret but I wonder what happens with the contest after they find out they are related. Alexander is clever enough and if he knew about it before he died Im sure he set some sort of rules for this sircunstance for the competition to continue, after all the contest is to really keep teaching Issei and Camille after he died.

Drops Of God - Episode 03 Season 01 - Introduction

After on Episode 2, Camille realize what really happen when she was a child, that after all she was the one responsible for her trauma against alcohol, its true that her father shouldn't leave her alone with wine but he did told her plus she been training for him for quite some time and was aware of the rules, she was not ready yet to drink wine and been a child she decided to try it, it was too much for her body to take it, an entire glass of wine cause her a trauma that all of the sudden seems to be overcome all because of her desire to win the contest for her father inheritance, a trauma that lasted years gone because how excited she is but I wonder if its because of the contest? the inheritance? or perhaps its because of Thomas, there could be multiple motives that take Camille to this extreme decision, I say extreme because the moment she decided to drink wine again she was exposing herself not necessarily to death but serious damage, keep in mind every time she drank wine started to bleed from her nose non stop to the point of black out, there was also pressure from Thomas and his father Phillip who kept saying that just sniffing the wine wont be enough to win this contest against Issei Tomine who was trained by Alexander himself, she is probably facing a top notch sommelier.

    Source

Now that Camille is finally tasting wine again she manage to identify the components or at least what she think the components are, at this point things are very uncertain, Camille just started tasting wine after many years of having this extreme reaction to alcohol, Camille identify the components of the wine she tasted at Tokyo as Mirabelle, blueberry, celery root, cacao, pencil, chalk, fern, clay, licorice, not a very common combination and to a certain point misleading but only Phillip knows this because he has tasted this wine before, a wine from 1986 from a Tourine winegrower called Andre Gigon who used an old grape variety no one has used since World War II, called the Lignage and he manage to both create a red and white wine who very often confuse people, Phillip and Thomas finds out all bottles were sold the last one five years ago at the time of the series at the modes price for $10k per bottle, Camille don't have that amount of money to spend on a bottle even if she cold find one so Thomas takes the drastic decision to take Camille and pay a visit to Andre but they went bankrupt in 1996 so who knows if they still have any bottles around.

Thomas and Camille make the trip to find Mr. Andre Gigon, when they arrive their was no vineyard, after all they went bankrupt so it was all gone, Camille and Thomas had some time to chit chat during on their way to Mr. Gigon and out of no where Thomas asks Camille if she is seen some one, I think this question confuse her, to this point of the series its no secret she likes him but they haven't had that alone moment to clear things out. When they arrive Mr. Andre Gigon was old and his son live with him, they seem to be alone and accept to talk to Camille, Gigon's son talks a bit about how they knew using old grapes that no body knew about was key for the wine to be successful but they were a small company with limited budget for marketing and they didn't produce large volume neither, at first selling bottles for 40 franks to latter on find out that the last bottles were sold for $10k USD a mind blowing reality, been successful but just too late for them, he and his father had to sell everything to pay debts and close the company. This trip was not so useful for Camille her success on the contest but at least she was explained that from the same vintage they could make either red or white wine meaning both having same aromas despite the color something that may confuse people and Gigon's son also gave her a hint that the bottle she was probably looking for could be a Lignage, vintage 1987.

One Episode 1 Camille was not ideally pleased of how Luca receive her, he pick her up from the airport on a small white cargo bus and she judge him by his car but now she knows Luca is a baller, big boss restaurant owner but wont "open a bottle worth 12,000 euros just for could be" but Miyabi had an idea of who could open that bottle and then Camille would have to hustle out her way to taste this wine, one of Luca big customer is has reservation for that night and he is known to close deals every time he arrives so he has no weakens to spend large on wine, but the problem for Camille is that Mr. Matsubara never leaves a single drop behind, they going to offer him the bottle and if he agrees then at least Camille will have the chance to figure out how to taste it, Luca will have the bottle send out from Osaka to Tokyo and ready for Mr. Matsubara.

Drops Of God - Episode 03 Season 01

    Source

Miyabi who is Lucha Sommelier and Lorenzo his nephew are put in charge of Camille, to "train" her on how to serve the wine and take care of the table for the night without knowing they were wasting her time, Camille was told this ritual by his father when she was eight years old putting them to shame, what a troll Camille can be some times.

The night comes, Mr. Matsubara arrives with his client and Miyabi who is Luca Sommelier introduce Camille as the one in charge to serve Mr. Matsubara wine for the evening, everything goes according to the plan, from now on Miyabi and Lorenzo became part of Camille team to find this mysterious wine she tasted once for the competition, Camille was able to sneak a single drop of Mr. Matsubara wine but it was not, the bottle Luca had was 1990 and Mr. Gigon's son told her she was looking for a 1987 which could make all kind of difference, Camille start feeling desperate feeling all her effort is a waste of time but then again Thomas comes to the rescue.

Drops Of God - Episode 03 Season 01

    Source

Remember this TV Series is based on the popular manga of the same name, at times the decisions and actions that characters take feel like out of a manga, some of them very extreme and laughable at, all it took for Thomas to go to Tokyo is heard Camille sad about the contest over the phone, was as when they went to visit Mr. Gigon for a $10k bottle, he took off with Camille like it was nothing.

Luca gave Camille full access to his cellar without limits to take and taste what ever bottle of wine she needs to and win the contest.

    DropsOfGod-E03S01-006

    Source

From now on we will see more of Lorenzo and Miyabi, a love story out of a manga, how silly Lorenzo is when it comes to Miyabi and how she clearly feels for him, starting to laugh at the silly lovely things he does for her like in this case they are at a Karaoke drinking to free their mind and help Camille, basically taking the rest of the night off and a break for this quest they are part of now.

Camille keeps getting this mix signals from Thomas, like when he ask her if she is seen someone, taking her to potentially buy a $10k wine bottle and now taking a flight to Tokyo just to help her, I think for at least 70% of human population that's been way too helpful if there is not some kind of interest or benefit from this contest, besides Thomas is not getting anything from Alexander inheritance so why put so much effort on helping Camille?, he gets a called from his girlfriend and goes out of the bar to talk to her, didn't look too excited to talk to her, while watching a rusty bike an idea came to him, it was not celery root what Camille taste it was the oxidation of the wine, they were totally off.

Drops Of God - Episode 03 Season 01

    Source

After spending the rest of the night trying to find that single bottle of wine it came to Lorenzo, the wine they looking for has to be a great wine over 2006, oxidation is key and only two wines with this characteristics could be the one Camille is looking for but Lorenzo said it would be better to identify what makes them different, its either a Cheval Blanc with classic maturation on new barrels or The Vega Sicilia Unico staying for at least six years in oak old barrels, so she basically screwed without the correct wine and trying to identify this on the fly, with no where to go or ask the day of the contest comes and Camille had it, Cheval Blanc 1999 but at the last minute change her mind for 2000, its worth mentioning that it took Issei just a few minutes to identify the correct wine and didn't hesitate, he is well trained and has been constantly tasting wine for all those years that Camille didn't, she could be talented but experience is on Issei side, although his family is not supporting him at all on this quest except his father, that side of the story for me is still not relevant enough but on next episodes its a side story that starts to pick up.

Drops Of God - Episode 03 Season 01 - Conclusion

So far this series is proven to have an awesome story, the manga is so popular so I was not expecting less than this, the story is getting better and better, seems like its that time of the year where very few action TV Series are release and most are drama series, Issei story so far is not that relevant but its starting to be, for now all I know is that his family is rich, he doesn't want anything to do with it and its trying to create his own company as a great Sommelier. As I mention the story does have that funny way of doing things, where characters take crazy last minute decisions without thinking much about consequences and been able to leave everything behind.

  7. Drops of God: Sky, Earth, Humans - Episode 2 - Personal Thoughts@skiptvads1143d

    Source

Before I start I have to say the last couple of days have been very hard for me in terms of time management, lots of adversity have come with a lot of work, having to deal with two office locations of a new client where everything was a mess, missing passwords, things that didn't work, server that blue screens and to make things worst yesterday the computer that I use as my NAS died after I shut down, Motherboard and CPU dead, lucky me I had another with the same parts and swap them but now I'm one computer down so time for a new/used one, took me three hours to troubleshoot and this takes time from my schedule, such things are not plan and some times make me feel stress, loose sleep and concentration but I wont give up, at some point things calm down and I can reset, for example today post is coming a bit late than I plan it but then had things to take care at work today and went to sleep late yesterday after troubleshooting the computer that went down.

After a little venting lets get back to topic, Drops Of God, its only the second episode, on Friday will air the fourth episode, I'm one episode behind but that's fine I will catch up, this is a series I'm really enjoying and that is obvious after I read about the success of this story on its manga edition, on the second episode we get a bit more context of Camille and the story with her father and that basically she created her existing trauma for alcohol, living an entire live thinking that it was her fathers fault when it was her, I think his father knew this and created this contest to push her to over come it as his last wish, like ok you wont do it for yourself then how about do it for all this millions I'm leaving behind, Alexander, her father, recognize her talent and had plans for her, after all she was very lucky to have Phillip and Thomas, at first the relationship was very hard but mostly because Camille had this hate relationship with everything that reminds her Wine or her father and I guess Phillip took that as an insult to his work and to his friend Alexander.

    -

    Source

Episode two had a great start, on the first scene we see Camille drinking her first ever full glass of Wine after Alexander, her father, told her she was not ready yet to drink but she wanted to take it farther and experiment the taste of Wine, so far she was only tasting different flavors and smelling all the components that might be on a bottle of Wine, after she drink the Wine she immediately pass out and that's when her parents call the paramedics, she is taken on an ambulance in the meantime her parents kept arguing about what just happen, her mother I think was never ok with the training she was getting and eventually that lead to Camille drinking wine in a moment she was not supervised by her father.

    Source

    Source

Camille arrives to one of his fathers friend, Phillips Vineyard, where she spend time very little went there with her father and got trained for many days before the accident, when she drank wine at a young age, there she met Phillip that she didnt remember at all and his son Thomas who works at the vineyard too. Its amazing all the machinery, the process, the chemistry and how little details can have big impacts on Wine, I think anyone who watches this series will eventually start to learn more and more about wine, that's very interesting for me, for what I have research about the manga that was very little because I'm sure if I start reading it will spoil the tv series, Camille latter on goes deep into searching for different types of wines and every time they talk about it they explain details of how its preserve, for how long, its components, its an entire world and now I understand how in some parts of the world wine tasting Oenology is consider a professional carrier, its like someone who identify gold for example but in this case its more of talent that takes time, science and skills that goes into taste, smell and sight, they identify the taste, the smell and how the wine looks to tell everything about it.

    Source

After Thomas show Camille they place the went down to business because Camille doesn't have much time, she needs to get good at tasting wine but there is one big problem, she cant drink a single drop of alcohol without passing out and start bleeding through her nose, at the moment Phillip still pissed by the entire situation, its like she is an inconvenience for him besides how she express from her father, all this had Phillip in a very bad mood.

    Source

The most obvious solution for Camille trauma is to use science to overcome it so they go and ask an expert, a doctor had her get certain exams to find out what's wrong with her, during this exams they did a few test and notice Camille brain activity at smelling and tasting things, well over average but the problem is alcohol, the Dr is not there to have Camille pursue her father inheritance but to look after her safety, based that her problem is psychological she suggest Camille to stop her training or something can go wrong with her.

    Source

During this episode the entire time since she met Phillip they have been exchanging blows and he had enough but there was a surprise, during one of their arguments she start talking about how bad of a father Alexander was, keep in mind Phillip was a close friend and knew him very well, turns out Cecile, Camille's mother send Alexander an email pretending to be Camille where she basically told him never look for me and die alone, not necessary in that context but that was her intention, Cecile though Alexander was a bad influence for Camille, I don't necessary think that's true but when a couple who share kids go separate ways 80% there is one side who is never ok or overcome the situation and always keep the wound open. I think Cecile is going to have a very short lifespan on this series as Camille immediately after she read the email Phillip was talking about dispatch her mother, ask her to leave.

    Source

    Source

Even dealing with all the adversity with her mother, father, trauma Camille decides to keep going and since she cant have any alcohol decides to smell wine, but first had to identify its components to then move into the hard stuff identifying wine by just smelling it, become good at identifying wine with all your senses and capabilities is hard already and she wanted to do it by smelling only, I never thought that was going to work and her competition is top of the line at it, when they move into identifying wine she had no chance at it, here comes Thomas girlfriend Juliette who thinks same as I, she is the Sales Director for Phillip Vineyard a very educated woman who I'm sure we will see in the future, Camille is wasting Thomas time and I think Phillip though so too but he was supporting her because she is Alexander daughter after all.

    Source

After three weeks of training Phillips perspective for Camille is different, he recognize her effort and talent but its not enough, she needs more than just smelling wine as he explains a good Sommelier (a trained and knowledgeable wine professional) can notice the different age, taste, smell, look of wine and tell from where it is and many more things that can get to a very specific description but she is not there, as a move of desperation she asks if she can taste it, she basically asking for Phillip permission which he has no right answer, Camille smells a glass of wine that was serve and remembers the entire episode of when she taste wine for the first time figuring out it was her fault and no one else, she went through her entire life hating her father, having a trauma for alcohol and now he is dead, all because of her innocent action that lead to other events that change her life not specifically for better, Camille drinks the entire glass and only said "Its so good" I was laughing because both Phillip and Thomas were worried about what was going to happen after she had wine again.

The story behind this TV Series is amazing, episode two is all about Camille and her training with Thomas, there were smalls scenes of Issei I didn't mention because its not much about him, basically same as in episode one, so far Issei side story is not as interesting but if I'm not mistaken latter on they become partners and from then he will have a primary role on the series, so far its all about Camille and Thomas, on this episode we get to know exactly why Camille cant tolerate alcohol same as certain small details of wine components, I'm sure there is a universe of things but for someone like me who knows NOTHING about wine its a lot of knowledge, probably enough to have a conversation about it, Drops of God is for sure a TV Series drama to watch with your partner, wife, girlfriend since there are so many details of the story to share, each character have a lot of feelings about the entire Camille/Alexander/Contest/Issei situation that can generate different perspectives, it also tells how toxic it can be when a couple separate without equally agree with the terms and what it involves for the future of their child. 7/10 for this episode.

Drops of God is an AMAZING TV Series drama, I love several things that get out of the classic tv series for example how its develop on different countries, three different languages through, at least during the first two episodes. If you like Drama TV Series you need to watch Drops of God

Its the story of Camille Leger play by Fleur Geffrier who to be honest I have never seen before but she is great, Camille is daughter of Alexander Leger a very strict man with a extremely high passion for wine and oenology the science and study of wine and wine making. Alexander started training Camille since she was very little, I really like how she builds up a world inside her mind, she organize all flavors and smells inside this world sometimes as she is going around the woods remembering how things smell other times running around an abandon building with all this compartments where she have all this information organize, on any story detail is king and Camille story has a ton of details when it comes to identify wine but there is one problem, at a very early age Camille took a full glass of wine to her head after she was left alone during a training session with a glass of wine, she ask her father when she would be aloud to drink wine Alexander said not yet and when she was left alone drank the entire glass creating a trauma, now she cant even have a drop of alcohol because she starts bleeding and some times blacks out. Her parents split apart when she was little, her relationship with her father was mislead and now he is dying, she goes to Tokyo to visit him but it was too late and now have to deal with entire funeral process and her father's will reading that bring up a lot of surprises to her life.

8.4/10 on IMDB and 100% on RottenTomatoe, this series I think is going under the radar but is getting a very good response from viewers, but there is a reason for this.

Drops of God TV Series is based on the very popular Manga of the same name with 439 chapters on 44 Volumes, can you imagine if Apple+ brings in all this episodes, this thing is going to be eternal, the only fear I have if it doesnt meet the expectations of people who read the manga.

This is Camille, story starts with her at a bar, she seems to be looking for someone and just ask a bar tender for a glass of water, when I started to watch this TV series I had no idea what to expect, it was new so I wanted to try it, I prefer this approach to avoid spoils and make it more interesting, it was after I watch the first two episodes that I did some research. I had no idea about her condition, she ask for water probably because she is not there to party or do molly IDK, a guy start talking to her about how he is a fan since 15 years old of her book and after some talking he offers her a shot, she refuse and he is ok took both shots but then tries to kiss her and spit a mix of vodka, tequila and gin into her mouth, this is her just after tasting alcohol, Camille pass out eventually wakes up bleeding none stop and gets back home.

Meet Issei Tomine play by Tomohisa Yamashita who I remember from Tokyo Vice another series I'm waiting on the next season but I'm not sure that's going to happen.

Issei is Alexander most talented student, although on the manga it says its his step son but probably its too early to reveal that on the series, on the TV series he is the son of Honoka and Tomine Hirokazu, his mother very strict and his father a little bit loose but both very strict to their roots and family, Issei on the other hand is an entrepreneur exploring the world trying to build up a company around oenology and sommelier but more incline into sommelier a person who is trained professionally to identify wine and evaluate it, but he is too young, his family think its a waist of time, lots of obstacle for him to make his dream come true.

When Camille gets to Tokyo she is welcome by Lucas a good friend of her father who takes her to her fathers place to spend the night and the next day to the lawyer who will read the will, here she find out about Issei, describe by her father last words "his spiritual son" , Alexander net worth between his house and wine collection, the biggest and most value wine collection in the world, is around $155 Million USD but there is a catch on his will, he wants some one who could appreciate his lifetime work so he comes up with a test for Camille and Issei.

They have to taste a bottle of wine Alexander left for them to taste blindfolded and will have exactly one month to identify grape, estate, vintage, they both very familiar with the process, after a month they will taste it again, Issei has a huge advantage since he is well trained and constantly tasting wine when in the other hand Camille cant even have a drop of alcohol without passing out.

I laugh at this scene because at first she and her mother wants nothing to do with her father but now that she knows his father inheritance is over $150 Million she feels disrespected because she have to battle it out and is about to try wine that might kill her.

Camille taste the wine and her brain immediately explodes because all the flavors and her intolerance for alcohol, she have gift that we saw on the first scenes that she can identify many flavors and smells but lives with that trauma from the first time she had a glass of wine.

Camille gets so mad she tells Lucas to fuck off and wants nothing to do with her father inheritance, she just want to get over all this process and go back home. They go to her father funeral and cremation ritual that she knew nothing about, it was a traditional Buddhist burial, I hope that's the term.

After all the ceremonies, Lucas takes Camille back to her fathers place and show her the private wine collection, here she finds a box with wine that her father had specially to drink with her when she turn 18 but that never happen because of their bad communication, besides Lucas insist she must see a video he left for her before he pass out where he explain how important she was for him, he accept was not the best father and ask for her forgiveness.

After watching the first episode I was hooked, I thought this was a season release, thought it was a Netflix series but it was Apple+, their format to release episodes is different and I prefer the weekly episodes so I was lucky they release the first to episodes, as I mention I really like the combination of cultures, the details of how Camille has this talent that she can identify flavors and smells like she has a huge library inside her brain with everything identify running around as a kid and the other hand the story of Issei who is trying to build up his own company despite of been from a wealthy family, he is very determine to succeed in his field but on this story its consider a waist of time.
