›Fathers and Daughters - A Review@young-boss-karin2165d
During my excruciatingly long trip from Abuja to Bayelsa, I was privileged to see a touching movie called Fathers and Daughters.
It's a 2015 movie starring Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried and Kylie Rogers.
The movie is about a father and daughter who go through a lot after the loss of the mother of the home in a car crash. The father goes through 7month in rehab after the loss of his wife and has to come back to his daughter but is met by the opposition when his sister-in-law seeks to take custody of his daughter through every possible means.
Katie, the little girl loves her father deeply and makes him promise that he will never leave her. So his death kind of comes as a betrayal to her, although he had been fighting with an illness silently.
Katie grows up to be a total man-hater. She let herself believe that every man will eventually leave her so she decides never to fully love a man.
All these change when she falls in love with a guy. She goes through a tough battle with herself to reciprocate the kind of love she is being given from this man.
Katie let herself cheat and wreck the relationship, just for her to realize that she needs to find a release, forgive her father and come to terms with his death.
This movie hit a little different. I found it intriguing how little moments can wreck and scar a person for the rest of their lives.
