Recommended by my friend, I finally watched
Ghost Doctor it's a comedy tvshow mixed with serious moments.
Released in 2022, Ghost Doctor followed the story of Cha Young-min (Rain/Jung Ji-hoon) a highly skilled surgeon who was very confident in his abilities. He was good at his job, but his attitude towards other people wasn't always pleasant.
His life took an unexpected turn after he got involved in an accident that left him in a coma. Although his body was still alive, his spirit could move around. This was how he crossed paths with Go Seung-tak (Kim Bum), a young doctor from a wealthy family.
Seung-tak was almost the opposite of Young-min. He had the opportunity to become a good doctor, but he lacked the interest and practical skills expected of someone in his position.
Things became more interesting when Young-min discovered that he could possess Seung-tak's body and perform surgeries through him.
I particularly enjoyed watching these two doctors argue. Their personalities were completely different, and they rarely agreed on anything. Sometimes, I found myself laughing at their arguments because neither of them wanted to admit that they needed the other.
Another character I found interesting was Jang Se-jin (Uee/Kim Yu-jin), who had a connection to Young-min's past. Her concern for him added an emotional side to the story. Oh Soo-jung (Son Na-eun), who was also part of the hospital's medical team, brought her own interesting moments to the drama.
I also liked how the story gradually showed changes in Young-min and Seung-tak. Beyond the arguments and unusual situation they found themselves in, they both had things to learn from each other.Rain did a good job portraying Young-min's arrogant but talented personality. Kim Bum also made Seung-tak's character enjoyable to watch. Their chemistry was one of the reasons I stayed interested in the drama.
The drama wasn't perfect, though. Some parts felt a little slow, but the funny moments and emotional scenes made up for that.
Verdict:
I enjoyed Ghost Doctor. It was entertaining, funny and emotional in its own way. I especially liked the unusual connection between two doctors who would probably never have become friends under normal circumstances.
Rating: 90/100
