Friends of the community The anime Realm, it's a pleasure to be back here. I had a while without watching an anime, the truth is that for lack of time, but recently I saw a production, a film of the anime Given of which I come to talk today. Many times it is important to look for genres that we had not seen before, since we can be surprised, such is the case with the film Given Hiiragi Mix. This movie is from the year 2024, in the genre of drama, romance and music. This is one of a series of movies that came out of the aforementioned anime. The director was Noriko Hashimoto, while the script was written by Yuniko Ayana.

I must say that I have not seen the anime on which the movie is based, even so I connected with the story and understood everything, although it is always good to watch the anime series to know much more details, to better understand the stories. What is the story of this movie about? It focuses on the friendship relationship between the friends since childhood, Mafuyu, Hiiragi Kashima and Shizusumi Yagi. Ritsuka Uenoyama hears Mafuyu Sato singing, where it was clear that he has a great talent for music, so he invites him to join his band, in order to enter a festival. Finally, they lost the festival, winning the small band of Sato's friends. Later, Ritsuka is invited to join Sato's friends' band as the guitarist, since they lost the one they had, seeing a clear opportunity to reach stardom.

A film that is a bit complicated in terms of its story, there are several entanglements, but this does not mean that I did not understand anything. A film that touches the theme of music, drama and also romance, in addition to issues of homosexuality, since the protagonists of this story are in love, at least Mafuyu has feelings for Ritsuka, but little by little we see the mutual interest between these characters, although they do not end up commenting on it. As I told you a drama story, you can't miss this kind of things and much more that we will see in a little more than an hour and ten minutes. This is the first part of two movies that came out last year. I must say that I haven't seen the second one yet, since I didn't know about the existence of this anime.

As I said, it is not mandatory to watch the anime to understand the story, although it is necessary, since there are details that maybe I did not notice, due to not having seen the animated series where much more details can be shown, because there are more chapters where the story of the different characters is developed even more. I don't usually watch this kind of genre, I'm more of action anime, adventure, isekai and even some mysteries, supernatural and thriller, and why also psychological suspense. The truth is that I didn't dislike this movie, it has a plot where a lot of problems happen, but how not if I was in the presence of a drama genre story. Is the plot perfect? Well no, it has its details, there are moments where the story is a bit slow, but then it picks up a rhythm that makes what we are watching much more pleasant.

The animation of this movie is really good, it has good character designs, the animation is quite fluid and not rough like some anime. The characters show a lot of details, such as sweat, shadows, very real gestures, when they talk it is very real and also when they sing, the characters play the musical instruments, a very careful work in this aspect. I think this was one of the reasons why I liked the anime. What better than to have a good story, which is very well represented in terms of animation, as I have seen many animated series and there have been epic chapters that have been ruined by a bad animation, but this movie is not the case.

The soundtrack is another of the strong points of the Given Hiiragi Mix movie, it has different musical themes, where my favorites are the ones that are moving, the ones that are played in the presentations. I like to watch anime in its original language, in this case Japanese and obviously translated into Spanish, which is my language of birth. I think the translation of the anime is correct.

Given Hiiragi Mix is a good movie with a pretty decent story that is worth watching, it has its dramas that can never be missing in this type of story, but it also has its funny moments, which at times can make us smile. This is a good production, which in addition to the story has an excellent animation, I think they did an impeccable job. The same opinion I have regarding the soundtrack, Michiru Ôshima did a great job in this aspect, having good reviews and is that several themes I consider that are very catchy and more when they have enough instruments that adorn the song. I love movies and musical series and this one was no exception, it exceeded my expectations. For all of the above I would give it a 9/10.

  2. Given 「ギヴン」 (2019, 11 episodes) + Given Movie 「映画 ギヴン」 (2020)@onlyjob543d

Passionate for music, two high school boys became friends as they perform in amateur band together, while they discover their romantic affection... to each other. Third boy on the band of four is also in complicated relationships with a boy music performer whose talent he admires. And that's about it.

One main character wears the same facial expression throughout most of the show... Relationships dynamics between characters is so bad that the show is hard to watch, especially the movie.

Uninspiring and underperforming show seemingly influenced by awesome Sakamichi no Apollon「坂道のアポロン」 ("Kids on the Slope", 2012) but not enough to deliver satisfying performance.

  3. GIVEN: Hiiragi Mix (BL Movie) --- love the songs as always! <3@tegoshei544d

One of my favorite BL animated series is GIVEN. Not only did I like the story and relate with the characters, but I also enjoyed listening to its soundtrack... especially the songs performed by the characters.
A year after they released the series *(2019)*, they also released a movie focusing on the characters Haruki *(bassist)* and Akihiko *(drummer)*.

By the way, GIVEN is their band name and the main characters of the series were Mafuyu (vocalist/guitarist) and Uenoyama (main guitarist).

Last year, a two-part movie was released, but only one is available to watch online at the moment. So yeah... let me talk about ***GIVEN: Hiiragi Mix Part 1***.

From the title itself, the main characters in this film are different. They're not from the band Given, but they're two of Mafuyu's childhood friends... Hiiragi and Shizusumi.

NOTE: The rest of the photos are screenshots from the movie.

    ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmU31ttDpsamUf9zE2ctMaCQGs82MtrDUaVyu9E1FqzVTj/screenshot_2025_01_04_204332.png)
Hiiragi and Shizusumi's band is going to debut, however, their guitarist left the group. Because of this, Hiiragi tried to convince Uenoyama *(his childhood friend's boyfriend)* to be a temporary member of their band.
Although they don't get along well with each other and bicker a lot, it's not a secret how they also respect and admire each other as musicians.
    ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmXDnEvPikj4roMu5zJmhiWJjB6C1vHQuULz2gY5hAMD95/screenshot_2025_01_04_205846.png)
The movie also showed how Hiiragi and Shizusumi's love story unfolds. *(This is actually one of my favorite pairs in the manga, so seeing their scenes in the anime made me happy!)*
    ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZX8G1rpzrePSzJw5MiugaAkWVVDv6fwsXJJHuCiLCEWZ/screenshot_2025_01_04_205550.png)
Seeing bits and pieces of their childhood is heartwarming... and their chibi versions are so adorable. :) There were also flashbacks of when they formed a band with Yuki, another childhood friend of theirs who was also Mafuyu's ex-boyfriend.
    ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmNaQERT1VW5na68fxFwj5K4NQj1mkzSW4kwvM2fvEXiyR/screenshot_2025_01_04_204801.png)
Speaking of Yuki... he had a song that he couldn't complete while he was still alive. And Hiiragi wanted Uenoyama to complete it. *(This is a really crazy thing to do in my opinion... If you watched the series, you'd know how Uenoyama struggled with his feelings towards Mafuyu who's stuck in the past. But I too am curious how the song would sound like.)*
    ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmb6QG5p3FY7tcSt3TBF3ivvrozjLQNZXe88X691jz6EzY/screenshot_2025_01_04_204546.png)
Of course, GIVEN won't be complete without a performance... Hiiragi's performance with Shizusumi and Uenoyama was amazing! Let me share a short version of their music video below.
    [VIDEOS SOURCE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeNGASaGlZU)

His voice suits this kind of song... and Shizusumi on the drums is just so cool. Lowkey he's looking like a lovechild of Akaashi and Iwaizumi of Haikyuu! --- what's wrong with my brain??? FUJOSHI ALERT!
The movie ended pretty well for Hiiragi, but it was a cliffhanger in terms of other aspects. It's understandable, though... it's a two-part movie and I think the online version for part 2 would come out in the first half of this year... maybe after the Blueray version is released in March.
Anyway, the movie was great as expected. I kind of know the story since I read the manga before, but I also forgot some of the parts... I'm debating whether to read the manga again or just wait for the second part of this film. haha
I want to see GIVEN (band) perform again. I miss Mafuyu's voice...
If you don't mind BL and are interested in music, you should watch this anime. I recommend you watch at least the series first. The first movie and this one aren't that connected, but the songs from that movie are also really good!
This movie got me into the band (or artist) Centimillimental. <3 You should check their songs out, too!
I'll end this post here. Thanks for reading and see you around! (^^,)/

How are you today? I hope you're doing great, I'm looking forward to tell you that I recently watched a little series of about 12 chaps, called "Given". Basically it's a series where we meet a small band with the same name, where thousands of things happen to reach the perfect members. I think many of you already know it, but today I wanted to give you my opinion about it.

    Given: resumen

Getting into its story, given is an anime that tells us about Mayufu, a rather introverted boy who in his past reached the difficult point of having to overcome a loss, which made him quite quiet and with an incredible desire to learn more about music. When he meets Ugetsu, a young guitarist from his school, he comes to notice the great skills he has for the guitar, and tries to get him to teach him to play the guitar left to him by that special person before he died. After much insistence, they begin to practice the basics of the guitar, until Mayufu demonstrates great skills with this instrument and with his voice, which makes him the perfect candidate for Ugetsu's band.

This is how our protagonist enters this band, which is a bit full of dramas, fights and a lot of friendship. Thanks to this gang, our protagonist begins to be more animated and starts to find meaning in life, even more so when he and ugetsu start to feel things for each other. An outstanding series that tells us about all the problems that can exist in a gang, thanks to the very different personalities of each member.

I came to see this series without much faith that it was any good. The truth is that I had been told certain things about it, but I had never decided to watch it because I didn't see a famdon of it. I know that it is not necessary for a series to have fans for it to be good, but normally one is more influenced by the opinion of other people, and their experiences watching it.

When I saw it, the beginning didn't interest me much. I mean, the truth is that it starts with a good plot, but since I wasn't paying much attention to it, I didn't end up liking it. The truth is that I started watching this series a long time ago, but I stopped watching it because I was busy, when I started watching it again I was already on chapter 5, and from here I could really enjoy it. The soundtrack is simply incredible, it is one of the things I could highlight the most, the soundtrack is simply fascinating and it is excellent. Rare for me would have been for the songs to be bad considering that it is the main theme of the series, but they have exceeded my expectations.

I don't really have many things to say about not liking something, but if I had to name something, it would probably be the fact that the characters at times I feel that they were a bit clueless on certain occasions, looking a bit silly in certain scenes. But the truth is that they were so few that it doesn't take notoriety when talking about this series.

Since I started watching it, without spoilers, something told me that the main characters would end up together in a good way, and I must say that I loved this love story. It's simply magical to see how little by little they generate feelings for each other, helping each other to overcome their own traumas along the way, that's really beautiful.

At the end of the series, they gave us an incredible concert, which as such is not the closing, but it is a very important and beautiful point, that last concert is one of the best I've seen, with the best soundtrack and the best atmosphere. At this point it reminded me a little of the Nana series, because of the behavior of some characters in the band, it's incredible. Personally I give it a very good 9/10 positioning it among the anime series that I have liked the most.

  5. GIVEN -- still breaks my heart! XD@tegoshei877d

I originally wanted to make the third anime-related post for the [Monthly Quest](https://peakd.com/hive-158489/@theanimerealm/the-anime-realm-quest-for-february-2024)'s first part. However, since it's almost Valentine's Day, I decided to skip it for now and share a romance anime.
There was a phase in my Otaku life when I breathed romance anime and manga. I especially liked ***Toradora***, ***Lovely Complex***, ***Clannad***, ***Clannad: After Story***, ***Kimi no Todoke***, ***YamaNade***, ***Kaichou wa Maid-sama***, ***Ouran HSHC*** and many others. They were so fun to watch and made the teenager and/or young adult me want to fall in love. However, I don't feel as excited watching them now as I'm older.
When it comes to romance, I wanted something deeper, forbidden... something hurtful, tragic even! Maybe because of my own experience? *haha* Just kidding, but jokes are half meant, aren't they? *lol*
I know this genre isn't for everyone, but I'm actually into ***Boy's Love*** and one of my favorites is ***GIVEN***.

In the anime, one of the main characters, Mafuyu had a somewhat dark and depressing past which is connected to a certain guitar he's constantly with. One day, he had an encounter with Uenoyama who criticized him for not taking good care of his guitar.
Mafuyu who was amazed and curious about Uenoyama's knowledge of the instrument started pestering the latter to fix the guitar and teach him how to play. Eventually, Uenoyama gave up and introduced Mafuyu to his band mates, Haruki and Akihiko.

    image.png IMAGE SOURCE
I like every character in this series. They're so adorable despite having their own issues. Mafuyu is such a sweetheart that deserves so much love.
Here's a little trailer of the series below.

    [VIDEO SOURCE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dwv4MiB08TY)
I remember crying a lot when I watched this series and just thinking about the story makes me want to cry again. It's not the kind of depressive cry, but more of a heartwarming one.
This series also introduced me to one of my favorite Japanese musician ***センチミリメンタル*** (Centimillimental). They sang the soundtrack not only of this series but also GIVEN movie which was released in 2020. And oh, there's an upcoming movie this year, too. I'm so excited to watch it and relive my heartbreak once more.
I'll watch the series again soon! I miss them! And I still listen to the soundtrack and even practiced singing Mafuyu's song *Fuyu no Hanashi*. It's such an emotional song that my heart clenches when I listen to it. *Dang!!!! T_T*
***And because of how I was really moved by this series when it was released around 5 years ago, I created a poem.*** Let me share it to you below.

***I was this invested and affected by this series. So, even if you're not into BL, won't you give this one a chance?***
Thanks for reading and see you around!

  6. [ENG/ESP] My review of Given (Anime)@thecrimsonfox1776d

Hello everyone!, Crimson Fox greets you again and I give you my warmest welcome to a new post, and this time to give my opinion about the anime "Given" and its movie (No spoilers), this is an anime of which I had heard many good things, and although I do not share the fanaticism of many, I admit that it has enough quality things I want to talk about, so without further ado, let's start!

The plot follows the members of "The seasons" (later known as Given), with Mafuyu and Uenoyama being the focus of the first season and Haruki along with Akihiko being the focus of the movie.

The story begins with Ritsuka Uenoyama, a somewhat apathetic boy who plays guitar and is a member of a band along with his friends and bandmates Haruki Nakayama (Bass) and Akihiko Kaji (Drums); one day he meets Mafuyu Sato, a quiet and somewhat enigmatic young man who asks him for guitar lessons and gradually becomes closer to the group while revealing the mysteries and ghosts of the past he brings with him, and demonstrating the talent that lies within him.

    Chapter 9

    image.png

The value of this anime shines more than anything in the characters and their relationships, being the music an important aspect, but I see it more as to give a context and a path to follow to the series, so it is not the main focus of attention, but influential in the characters, in their actions, and motivations, being these:

    Mafuyu Sato

    image.png

    Chapter 1

Mafuyu is as I had already mentioned at the beginning, a very quiet person who is surrounded by an air of mystery, carrying his guitar everywhere but not having much knowledge about music at first (beyond his curiosity and desire to learn), with no dreams or ambitions, one could say he was just wandering around running away from his past not knowing how to express himself until he meets Uenoyama, someone who helps him teaches him, and guides him along the path of music, letting him join his band, and thus finding Mafuyu something that excites him, and a person to love again.

    Ritsuka Uenoyama

    image.png

    Chapter 4

Uenoyama was presented to us as an apathetic and a bit irritable boy, but as the chapters go by we see how he is a kind young man, someone who tried hard to be a good guitarist as it was something he liked to do, but over time, he had lost that which he was passionate about, until he met Mafuyu, finding a reason to strive and motivate himself again, discovering various feelings along the way, making mistakes and learning from his mistakes.

    Haruki Nakayama

    image.png

    Chapter 5

Haruki is the eldest of the group, the responsible one, and the one who is usually in charge of the arrangements for the group's presentations and among other external matters; he is a tolerant person, somewhat nervous, and one of those who (unknowingly) help to keep the group afloat, always watching over its stability and well-being, taking care of his friends and companions. He is in love with Akihiko, so he will often be seen nervous when he approaches him, and frustrated when he sees him doing something rash or being with someone else.

    Akihiko Kaji

    image.png

    Chapter 7

If Haruki functions as the responsible father of the group, Akihiko would be the older brother (ok, using family comparisons in a romance anime I don't think it's a very good idea), he seems like the typical tough guy, but in reality, he is a pretty insightful person who gives very good advice, being the one who lights the fuse when he feels that the group is stagnant. I feel that Akihiko is the character with the most development in this anime next to Ugetsu since he is a character that at the beginning did not stand out much for his background, but as they show us his story, we notice that he is a character in a process of overcoming, with his relapses into bad habits of the past when he feels frustrated or weak, and now he has to learn to deal with that which torments him and move forward, luckily counting on Haruki's support.

    Ugetsu Murata

    image.png

    Chapter 7

Ugetsu is a crucial character in the story of Given: The Movie and for the development of Akihiko, being a very talented person, who after meeting him and without wanting to overwhelm him with her ability, she got to know him more, and with the passage of time becoming his rival and his lover, but whose relationship did not have a nice conclusion, becoming over time a toxic obsession, having to learn to overcome it to end the cycle, accept that there will always be a tomorrow, and thus find happiness.

All the pictures from the chapter 9

Fuyu no hanashi is the name of the song that The seasons play in episode 9, and I will take the liberty of giving spoilers here, so if you want to watch the anime without knowing more details, I advise you to skip to the next point. The scene in which this song plays I consider the highest quality point of Given together with the scenes that follow this one because in this sequence are all the feelings that Mafuyu was afraid to face, and that lives every second at the moment of singing, added to a great expectation that was forming in the chapters before this event to finally explode at this moment.

The song by itself is very emotional, the lyrics show the feelings of a person who lost a person he loved, a feeling that more than one could have identified with, increasing, even more, the weight and emotional value of the song to the viewer; the instrumental is also too good, and if you listen to it individually you wouldn't even think it's a song with a sad message, but with the lyrics, it fits perfectly, "Why? "I think it is because the instrumental, as well as the background of the lyrics, is a frenzy of emotions, and the power of it allows that more than a discouraging and depressing song, it is a song of pain, overcoming, acceptance, and even farewell, because those beings that once were with us and are no longer with us, continue to live in our hearts, and will accompany us forever, supporting us and guiding us on the right path.

    image.png

Then we have the context, the anime managed to play too much with expectation, anguish, and intrigue, because even though most of us watched this anime for the opening (or for the yaoi, I'm watching them crazy girls7-7), still the thought of "will she sing or not?", "When will she sing?", etc, it felt a lot, although in retrospect it was more the last example due to the expectation one had and that was growing with each chapter one watched.

After Mafuyu was able to clarify her feelings and write the lyrics, the incident caused by Uenoyama's jealousy occurred, after he apologized everyone had already taken it for granted that they were going to play the song without lyrics, but once they go on stage and an emphasis is made on Mafuyu's thought, the song begins, and Mafuyu begins to sing while we see the reactions of the people surprised by Mafuyu's singing, surprising that in some turns into sadness, while in Mafuyu all these feelings exploded together with a sequence of memories, expressing her loneliness and her guilt, all demonstrated with a single cry that is the combination of all of the above in a single action, and closing with her sad farewell.

    image.png

This is followed by Uenoyama's kiss scene, Mafuyu's emotional conversation with his childhood friends, and the beautiful scene in which we see Mafuyu walking on the beach with Yuki (with Fuyu no hanashi piano version in the background) where we are shown a conversation between them where they make it clear that they may forget the details of the time they spent together in several years, but no matter how much time passes, those memories will always remain engraved in that song.

The direction of scenes in this anime was very good, knowing how to emphasize the important moments, achieving that the atmosphere, the approaches, and the sequences of scenes transmit very well the emotions that they want to present. I haven't read the manga yet so I wouldn't know how well adapted it is.

    Given: The movie

    Animation/Animation:

The animation was not bad in general, getting to have a good quality, although in this type of anime is not so much looking for this kind of things as long as everything feels fluid, shining in the scenes in which they play instruments, as the movements look quite organic and quite fluid, being my only complaint in this aspect with the CGI that is seen in the presentation scenes with the characters seen from afar, looking very unnatural, an aspect that the film maintains, but it is only a small observation.

    Chapter 1

    Soundtrack/Banda sonora:

Given's music is made by the band Centimilimental, whose vocalist does the normal voice and singing of Mafuyu, this band exudes a great quality in their songs, so the main songs of this anime are no exception, that is, come on, I'm listening to a playlist of their songs as I write the review, from their musicality to the message they bring with them are pretty good. That said, for a band anime I would have liked to have more variety, both in a larger repertoire of songs in general (the anime only has 3 outstanding ones, the opening, Fuyu no hanashi, and the ending), as well as other bands or characters, as is the case of the movie in which a violin concert of Mugetsu is shown.

As a comment that doesn't go completely into the "technical aspects", I liked the treatment given to the music, what they made the characters feel, and the love they have for it, the outcome of Akihiko with how he stopped feeling that "spark" for music until he recovers the love he felt for it in the beginning, I loved it, these are aspects that make the experience even more enjoyable, even more for those who know this world, and know what it is to feel passion for music.

    image.png

*Given is an anime that I liked, even though they tried to fill me with expectations, in the end they only focused on the scene of Fuyu no hanashi, and they were more than fulfilled. The characters are endearing and have their weight in the story in one way or another, the relationships between them I also saw them quite good, knowing how to complement each other correctly; in the romantic section I will have to wait to see how the plot continues since all its background seemed to me correct and quite organic, even quite touching in several cases.

As for the music, I highly recommend it, even if you are not interested in watching the anime, well I would have liked to have a larger repertoire for an anime of its genre, but the ones that are there are overflowing with quality.*

    image.png

    Chapter 3

Overall I see it as a good anime, recommended for people who want to hang out, watch a quiet love story with touches of drama, with a good theme such as music, and relationships between characters that make them grow as a person.

And well friends, that's all for my part, you can leave me your opinions below in the comments and let me know things like if you liked this anime or if you plan to watch it, also remember to follow me if you don't want to miss this kind of content. With all that said, I'll say goodbye, see you in the next post, and remember "Even if you are afraid, you will continue to live, and when the sun rises, you will move forward again".

  7. GIVEN (movie); Made The Wounds Fresh... Again! T_T (Let's talk about it! May contain Spoilers...)@tegoshei1970d

The anime series of GIVEN which was released in 2019 has given me so much heartache that I still cry when I watch some clips from it. Last year, GIVEN (movie) was released in Japan and I have always wanted to watch it. However, the movie wasn't released online until this year and finally last weekend, I got the chance and courage to watch it.

    image.png IMAGE SOURCE

From the official poster itself, GIVEN fans would know that the movie would focus on Akihiko *(drummer; short-haired guy on the picture)*, Haruki *(bassist: long-haired blond guy)* and Ugetsu *(black-haired guy at the back)*. The two other guys with guitars on their back in the background are Mafuyu and Uenoyama. They're the main characters in the series.
Before I pour my heart out into writing my thoughts and my feelings, I'd like to share the trailer here as well. Please check it out below. There's an English subtitle, so you might have an idea of what the movie was about.
    [VIDEO SOURCE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=532x2IOYO4g)
As you may noticed in the trailer the three characters in the movie somehow have a very complicated relationship... be it related to music or love. GIVEN is a BL story that involves people who are very passionate about music. Let's get to know the three main characters. :)

    image.png IMAGE SOURCE

Ugetsu Murata is a famous violinist who is known not only in Japan, but also abroad. He met Akihiko in high school and had a complicated relationship with him since then. They were both playing the violin, but since Ugetsu is somehow a genius at it, there's some conflicted feelings on Akihiko's part. Ugetsu is in love with him, but also doesn't know what he feels exactly.

    image.png IMAGE SOURCE

Akihiko is the drummer of the band, GIVEN. As mentioned earlier, he used to play the violin more. Although he still plays the violin, he tried to play the drums and other instruments as a way of rebellion(?). He's tagged as a "Jack of all trades" since he can do almost anything, but there isn't any particular thing that he stands out at. He loved Ugetsu, but his complicated feelings for Ugetsu and his music is driving him insane that he spends his night wildly... but there's this someone who he wants to appear as a good human to... Haruki.

    image.png IMAGE SOURCE

Haruki is a sweetheart. <3 He's the bassist of GIVEN and is actually pretty much in love with Akihiko. He used to have a girlfriend who is also in another band, but somehow, he fell in love with Akihiko. He considers himself inferior to others and had little self confidence, but I really like this character. I just want to break the fourth wall and hug him so tight.

    ---
    # WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT THE MOVIE?

    image.png IMAGE SOURCE
Have you ever fought a losing battle? Have you ever loved someone you know you shouldn't? Have you ever wanted to give up on your feelings towards someone, but you refuse to because you know it'll irrevocable, and you'll be losing that person forever?
I know, it's crazy complicated and it's too hurtful even just imagining it... but I surely can relate, especially to Ugetsu. In the movie he said to Mafuyu as they were talking about his relationship with Akihiko, "I love him but loving him hurts me. I want to move on, but I can't until he decides to leave me himself. I'm waiting for him to do it." Well, those weren't the exact words, but it was along those lines. He wanted to free himself from his feelings, but instead of moving on by himself, he wants Akihiko to leave him... and only then can he move on.

    cats.jpg

Immediately after watching the movie, I posted this on my Facebook.

Finally got the chance to watch "GIVEN" (movie)... my impression? 突然、会いたいよ〜🥰🖤 I was able to feel the meaning of the song 夜が明ける more... 🥰🥰🥰 I feel bad for Ugetsu and I can relate to the feeling of wanting to let go but you just can't because the moment you do, it'll absolutely be over. 🥰

突然、会いたいよ〜 (Suddenly, I miss you.) I know it's crazy, but Ugetsu's feelings reflect mine. No matter how hard I try, the moment he sends me a message, all of my feelings come back. Even though it's hopeless, I'm so helpless. I just want him to leave in his own will and move on with his life without me... me we can't cut ties. Especially that 2022 is approaching. I know COVID is still around, but there's a possibility of meeting him again. What's funny is... I can't imagine myself being in a relationship... even with him. I'm content with this feeling of admiring him from afar and reminiscing the times we shared. Am I weird? I bet I am... So when I watched the movie, I cried a lot and I hated myself for doing that.
Now, let me share (Yorugaakeru) clip from the movie below.

    [VIDEO SOURCE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUFiIhdmbPg)
Since the song was shared on YouTube last year, I have been listening to it on repeat. However, after watching the movie, I could understand it much more deeply. Moving on isn't easy, it will never be... but everything will be OK. Life goes on and what's important is to face it head on.
I don't know if there'll be a time when I see him again... he sent me a message recently again and sometimes I just can't understand either him or myself anymore. So, I won't bother myself with these things... my life goes on even without this. Who knows? I'm currently happy with myself and my family and friends. This is more than enough.
Ugh! This movie really makes me crazy... as much as the series! Even if it hurts, I'd love to watch it again. Anyway, I'll end this post here. See you next time! (^^,)/

PS: I might have hurt someone along the way, but I can't force myself to anything... so I'll go with the flow and live with my definition of happiness. In the long run, it would be better for the other party as well. I want everyone to be happy~ Jaa ne~!!!

  8. GIVEN: Love May Break Us, But Love Will Make US Whole Again... (Anime Talk 010: SPOILERS + BL)@tegoshei2458d

Good day beautiful people! Ahhh~ I feel tired, but it's OK. I'm still alive. *lol*
I really want to talk about my thoughts about a certain anime which is entitled "GIVEN". But before that, if you are not into "Boy's Love" or if you have a prejudice about it, please feel free to leave this post. :)
As most of my Otaku friends know, I am a FUJOSHI... meaning, I love watching or reading "Boy's Love". I just find it exciting and touching because I have always believed that forbidden love is true love... especially when both parties fight against all odds just to be with each other.
GIVEN is a BL anime, but a tragic one. Well, there are a lot of tragic BL love stories and tragic ones are often more realistic than the "happily ever after" ones. It's sad, though. Everyone has the right to love who they want to love, but not everyone can do it freely without having other people judging them.
Let me show you a clip from the anime which really pulled on my heartstrings.

    VIDEO SOURCE

Mafuyu, the vocalist of the band "Given" used to have a childhood friend who later on became his boyfriend. Mafuyu grew up with an abusive father, so he was already scarred since he was young and the person who stayed by his side and saved him was that boyfriend.
Unfortunately, that boyfriend committed suicide... and Mafuyu was left with the memories of his savior killing himself. There was a part in the clip when Mafuyu asked his boyfriend, "Will you be willing to die for me?". I'm not sure if that's the only reason or his boyfriend had other reasons for committing an act. It wasn't explained in the anime, but the manga version is still ongoing, so it might be explained later in the future.
    > Saying GOODBYE and leaving the person you love is painful... but NOT BEING ABLE TO SAY GOODBYE is torture.

This is what I thought upon watching the anime. Both Mafuyu and his boyfriend were broken, but they seek for each other to feel whole... Of course, not all people rely on love or on romantic relationships, but for some... love is such a serious thing. It could be a feeling of fulfilment or something that can make them feel like living. I don't know.
After the incident, Mafuyu's life became stagnant. He consistently lived in the past and couldn't feel anything at all. He was numb... he didn't even cry. He couldn't express or let out what he feels because he doesn't know what he feels at all. All that's left was his late boyfriend's broken guitar which he carries every day.

Everything slowly changed after one fateful encounter. In his new school, he met Ritsuka. Ritsuka is a guitarist from an instrumental band and he didn't only fix Mafuyu's broken guitar but also mended his broken heart.
Through Ritsuka, Mafuyu started to feel again. Ritsuka taught him how to play the guitar and invited him to be a part of their band.
Well, it wasn't smooth-sailing at first because Mafuyu is still haunted by the past and Ritsuka also has his own set of problems... their other band members also played a big role in guiding them.
And the performance you saw earlier was the first time Mafuyu expressed himself... his longing for his dead boyfriend, his regrets... everything. I can imagine how Mafuyu really treasured him. I know it's painful for Ritsuka to hear that song, but it was the trigger for Mafuyu to move on and continue living.

When Mafuyu screamed during his performance, I couldn't help but cry. Thus, immediately after watching the anime, I created a poem which I shared [HERE](https://steemit.com/poetry/@tegoshei/given-an-original-poetry).
    > SHATTERED > That was me when you left > When I realized you're never coming back > That what we had will just be memories > Memories that will slowly fade as the world continues to turn

EMPTY Could no longer feel anything No laughters... not even tears Everything was just numb... everything seems bleak You're no longer by my side You went on on your own and left me alone

LONELINESS A feeling embracing me to my core I couldn't sleep... it's hard to breathe I just wanna runaway and scream But even if I did... it wouldn't bring you back

LOVE It has turned into fear A painful feeling that crushes my being My heart bleeds... I'm in the verge of falling irrevocably I can feel my blood flow slowly halting

GOODBYE The word I couldn't say I regretted that.. If only I could bring back time, so I could tell you properly That I loved you with all of me That your existence mattered That you're one of a kind, priceless

ACCEPTANCE That's what I'm supposed to work on To accept that you're no longer here, but will forever stay That the tomorrows I'll be experiencing will be different And that you want me to live on for both of us Your dreams, I'll carry with me You might not be here anymore... But one day, someday, I will be where you are

    @tegoshei

It's scary to love and get hurt, but being able to experience it is such a wonderful feeling. It's been a while since I have been romantically in love with someone... yes, I have loved and gotten hurt by the same love. BUT, life goes on. It made me love myself more and appreciate other people around me.
For some, they might need their own "Ritsuka" to be whole again, but I tell you... loving yourself works the same. <3
Have a great day everyone! See you again soon!
