Playing unstable comic villains, James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy mesmerise in evolving psychedelic performances that drive Bruce Willis' indestructible guardian into an existential crisis.

Shyamalan directs with visual panache, manoeuvring in tight spaces to cultivate claustrophobia amidst the revelations.

The editing heightens the tension to unnerving extremes during climactic confrontations that examine human perception.

    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=271893)

Through the collisions of these gifted characters, Glass debates society's relationship with heroes, the faith in exceptionalism and the madness that can arise if "realism" reigns.

The sound and production design immerse us in their unstable inner worlds more disturbingly than any effects extravaganza.

A modern parable that examines identity, power and humanity's need to categorise, it challenges long after the last frame.

    M. Night Shyamalan displays his narrative mastery by weaving a complex superhero tapestry of philosophical depth.

Though imperfect, Glass is one of Shyamalan's most provocative films about the psychology that underpins our global myths.

A cinematic event that lives up to its audacious ambitions.

It grossed $110 million on a budget of $20 million.

You cannot contain what you are 💪

Today I am excited to finally get to talk about the sequel to one of my favorite thrillers ever called Split. Glass is the continuation of M. Night Shyamalan's story surrounding Kevin Michael Crumb (James McAvoy) and his 24 unique personalities. This time there are two more faces that you will recognize to compliment McAvoy's impressive ability to portray so many different characters in one film. We have Bruce Willis as David Dunn and Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price aka Mr. Glass.

Upon doing some research about Glass and Split, I've found out that they are linked to an older film called Unbreakable which explains how Mr. Glass and Dunn have a past together. I need to go back and watch that one to complete The Eastrail 177 Trilogy – also known as The Unbreakable Trilogy. For now, we will focus on discussing Glass.

    Daltono Seperator.png

The movie begins with David Dunn going on frequent walks where he acts as a vigilante. His son is connected to him via an earpiece and they work together to track down bad guys. David has some unique abilities which make him pretty much invincible against the average criminal. He is on the hunt for somebody who is kidnapping girls.

If you know anything about Kevin Michael Crumb, then you know that he is no stranger to female hostages for his 24 personalities to toy with. This means that David is searching for Kevin. Neither one of them realizes that there are others that possess superpower-like abilities.

David manages to track down the girls and frees them just as Kevin's 24th personality The Beast arrives to kill them. This leads The Beast and David to have a battle with each other. Nobody seems to be coming out as the winner, it is a fierce fight.

Things are halted abruptly as the police arrive and find a way to stop The Beast with their bright lights, which switches his personality. David is not a villain, so he stops fighting right away. David's son is devastated by the fact that his dad is going to be locked up, even though what they were doing was good in their eyes.

David and Kevin are brought to the psych ward where we meet Dr. Ellie Staple (Sarah Paulson). She informs them that they will be locked down and have no chance of escape.

This is where we find that Elijah Price is also being held captive at this same institution. Dr. Staple is deadset on convincing all three men that they are not superheroes. She is very crafty and knows how to break down the minds of the two newest captives. Elijah has no response to anything that happens.

I mentioned that lights are The Beast's weakness and his room is set up to flash him anytime that he gets aggressive. David's weakness is water and he is sprayed down by powerful jets anytime that he gets aggressive. Elijah is simply kept drugged up since his ability is his powerful mind.

My favorite part of all of this isn't even the superpowers, it is how well McAvoy executes his many personalities. Each one is so distinct from the others. It never gets old watching him switch from a young boy to an older woman and then to all sorts of other different types of people. It really is a sight to behold when one actor can be so many people.

Elijah Price is drugged up and silent, but eventually reveals that he is smarter than he seems. This guy is miles beyond everyone else when it comes to intelligence. He is a puppet master of sorts and can make seemingly impossible things a reality.

Elijah Price prefers to be called Mr. Glass. Once he comes to life, he is able to convince The Beast himself to fight David in public. The Beast wants the world to worship him and people who have done wrong to suffer and pay for their sins. Mr. Glass easily comes up with a way to get them on the same side.

Mr. Glass leaves David in his cell but tells him about their evil plan for destruction. David is forced to push his powers to the limit and break out to save people from Mr. Glass and The Beast. The plot gets extra insane at this point, suspense just keeps piling up.

The final battle between The Beast and David Dunn is an incredible showcase of power. Both men showcase just what they are capable of and Mr. Glass watches proudly as his plan unfolds.

The ending to this trilogy will leave you surprised and I will not spoil it for you. There is so much to this plot and it will hit you with curveball after curveball. I love when a movie keeps me guessing and this one surely does. Plus the added fact that superpowers and the real world collide just makes it even more enjoyable.

I highly recommend both Glass and Split. I assume that Unbreakable is great as well, but like I said I still need to go back and watch that. I will close this post out with the trailer for Glass. If you haven't seen any of this trilogy, then I think that you should watch them in order if you can.

  3. Glass: recensione@serialfiller2135d

  4. Glass Review - Ambition alone does not make glory@reviewzzz2481d

Since its inception, Glass has secured a place in the 2019 blockbuster, completing two successful films, Unbreakable (2000) and Split (2016). Knight Shyamalan co-stars Bruce Wells, James McAvoy, Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Paulson, Anya Taylor and Joey. Source

    The story of the movie

Glass completes the film Split, which takes place nearly 19 years after Unbreakable, where David Dunn, the supernatural, continues to fight crime in secret and proceeds to prosecute Kevin Crump, a schizophrenic, for his heinous crimes, and both of them end up in one. The detained psychiatrists are initially Elijah / Mr. Glass, and then Dr. Eli Stable begins to try to undermine their confidence in their abilities and find a scientific explanation, but the events take a different turn as they all discover many facts that were not taken into account.

Screenplay: The chaos of missed opportunities

The screenplay of Glass was in front of two main tasks, the first - and the most difficult one - is to link its events with the two previous films, and the second to highlight the features of his own plot and follow its dramatic track. The characters went through that long period, creating acceptable connections between the Unbreakable and Split worlds and, most importantly, all in an exciting and exciting atmosphere.

Glass's introductory phase was promising but once it was over, things changed dramatically, the pace of events slowed down in the second part of the film to the point of boredom, while the last third was quite the opposite, and included many jumps that were oblivious to logic, creating many Of gaps that are difficult to remedy.

Famous for the works of M. Knight Shyamalan with twists and sudden events near the end, and relies heavily on them to bring excitement to the extreme, and the fact that the film Glass is not excluded from that rule, but it contained more than twisting near the end were all of a great degree of idea and degree The vulnerability of dramatic construction has weakened its impact, and it has not been adequately paved or found to be justified, making it seem intrusive and difficult to accept.

It can be said that the crisis of the scenario of the film Glass is due mainly to the dispersal between complete independence and walk in the approach of the previous two films, led to a state of confusion and confusion lasted from the beginning of the second season and continued to the scene of the end, which dropped him a lot in the trap of monotony and made it in other times Disjointed and disconnected.

    Actors and characters

The overall performance was very good and James McAvoy remained the best - or rather the most prominent - thanks to the distinctive nature of his role, and he excelled in embodying multiple characters and moving between them smoothly, but the overall level was lower than what he showed in Split. It was with the scenario of introducing many of Kevin's latent figures - including those that first appeared - but none had a real impact on the course of events, making it seem like a comical show of individual acting abilities apart from the general context of the work.

Samuel L. Jackson is a balanced performance of Elijah, Mr. Glass, who drew attention despite the late appearance, but is flawed by the lack of any manifestation of development or different from what he presented in the film Unbreakable despite the passage - according to the drama of the film - about nineteen years, while the performance of Bruce Wells He was fluctuating depending on the location of his personality from the events, he performed well at the beginning where the character was the first driver of events, but quickly dimmed his luster in the following chapters as the influence of the character declined and turned into a reaction!

    My opinion on the film

Bear Im. Knight Shyamalan - first author and second director - is entirely responsible for the artistic level of the film, which certainly puts him in the tail of the movie trilogy that began in 2000, but was Glass really that bad ?!. A fair and accurate answer to this question may be that it is a well-structured, flawed film.

In the sense that im. Knight. Shyamalan clearly strived to get the best thing in each element but spoiled it in one way or another, the story plot on which the film is good but was poorly reviewed, sometimes lengthy boring and sometimes confusing acceleration, the plot included many twists and surprises but in order to reach it Sacrificing many of the justifications and links needed to put events into context.

The film carried a good implicit message and included a philosophy that would add some depth and weight, but it was presented - or precisely indoctrinated - to the viewer in the form of direct, repetitive and intense, near-the-end news phrases. In general, the film focused on exploiting the success of the previous two films. While trying to disagree with them as much as possible, he seemed to try to avoid some pitfalls and did not pay attention to the pits scattered in his path.

  5. Glass (film): Not surprising but I thought it was lame@gooddream2524d

I say that it is not surprising because of the fact that I have pretty low expectations of M. Night Shlamahamalam. I think that he started out strong but for the most part is very "hit-and-miss" with his movies. I thought "Unbreakable" was "ok," I thought "Split" was excellent, I thought "Glass" was garbage.

    [source](http://www.impawards.com/2019/posters/glass_ver9.jpg)

For starters, the movie is called "Glass" and one would assume that based on this that the film would focus primarily on Mr. Glass as a consequence. It doesn't. I believe that Sam Jackson actually has the least amount of the focus of the film out of the 3 people involved. For almost the entire film, dude is sitting in a wheelchair in a faked catatonic state and Sammy must have really enjoyed getting a massive paycheck for this particular script.

[source](https://i2.wp.com/vaguevisages.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/glass-movie-five.jpg?resize=890%2C501&ssl=1) Seriously. This is like 80% of his acting in the film

Instead, the film focuses almost entirely on James McAvoy's character that has 24 personalities - which is nice because I like the character and James' exquisite portrayal of it. However, we already saw that movie.... It was called "Split."

The story is half-baked to say the least and while it starts out quite exciting in the first 10 minutes or so, it then goes on to put us in a secret asylum, with all 3 of the "superheros" in separate cells captured by a group of people that we are told very little about.

Then the movie just drags on for about an hour.

This group who just happens upon the encounter between McAvoy and Willis at the start is responsible and I hate it when magical clandestine groups just simply "know" everything about the people in the movie that appear to be super-human. Why do you know about them? How did you know that they were both going to be at this place at the same time? Why, if you had this information, did you wait to intervene until this moment? How do you know about the weaknesses of both of this guys ( I mean, they know everything.)

    AR-190119639.jpg source

Then the 3 of them go through group therapy sessions together because that is what is exciting.... right?

It's just dumb. The 3 dudes are locked in this place and it is Mr. Glass who eventually figures out how to get them all out... a notion that is so telegraphed that they may as well just shown it to us. I mean, nobody watching this couldn't figure that out.

I wont ruin the twist ending, because I actually didn't see it coming but it is so convoluted and stupid that it has to be narrated to an extreme degree for the story to even make sense. Then when it does make sense you don't care.... because it is dumb.

I think this film had a lot of potential but what a turd it ended up being. I had just written a short while ago about how I quite enjoyed a more practical approach to super-herodom with people that are undoubtedly super-human, but not crazily overpowered (insert Captain Marvel or Superman here.)

That being said, i can't think of any way that they could have possibly made this film any worse. In interviews with M. Knight he said that he closed the films because he had no interest in building a "superhero universe" which i suppose is fair enough. For me, I would have preferred this movie had never been made than be made in the way that it was. The critics and general public seem to agree with me on this one. It did make 100+ million dollars globally though, so i guess their marketing campaign would be considered a success!

On a scale of "Urgh!" to "Wowsers!" I give Glass the overall score of

Year: 2019 Category: Superhero, Thriller. Director: M. Night Shyamalan. Cast: James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sarah Paulson, Spencer Treat Clark, Luke Kirby.

    Plot

David Dunn tries to evade the police while he delivers justice in the streets of Philadelphia. His special talents place him in collision with The Beast, a psychopath who has superhuman strength and multiple personalities.

    Opinion

After the Unbreakable was released, M. Night Shyamalan in 2016 unexpectedly and very surprisingly decided to make Split into a sequel, creating a new universe about superhero more realistic than those shown by Marvel or DC. All this forced M. Night Shyamalan to continue with the elaboration of his universe and give the audience an end, in this way Glass was born, which tries to unite the characters of Unbreakable and Split in the same story, confronted with each other due to their extraordinary nature but at the same time ruled by opposite conditions.

The hero, David Dunn, called The Overseer by the public, is unbreakable, does not get sick, does not feel weakness and is very strong, but he has a weakness: water. He represents the antithesis of Elijah Price, who calls himself Mr. Glass, who suffers from Type I osteogenesis imperfecta, making his bones practically glass, and suffering constant fractures, however, has a superior intelligence. Finally, Kevin Wendell Crumb appears, that because he suffers from dissociative identity disorder has multiple different personalities within him, and that as a whole they call themselves The Horde; which includes the personality called The Beast, a kind of cannibalistic superhuman whose main philosophy is to separate the pure, those who have suffered, and the impure, those who have not suffered, so his association with Mr. Glass and his confrontation with The Overseer is inevitable.

The film begins showing David Dunn, who confronts minor criminals with the technical support of his son Joseph, who is now an adult. Successively the film shows how several personalities of The Horde harass 4 cheerleaders who he has kidnapped in an abandoned building just waiting for The Beast to sacrifice them. Joseph, who studies the patterns in which The Horde has acted recently, indicates to his father the zone where the cheerleaders could be kidnapped, reason why David goes there, and when he finds in the way to Hedwig, the child personality of The Horde, he discovers where the cheerleaders are, whom he tries to help but The Beast arrives just in time to prevent it, generating a confrontation between The Overseer and The Beast, which concludes in the retention of both in an institution for demential criminals, where Elijah Price, Mr. Glass, who remains in a drug-induced state, is being detained. There Dr. Ellie Staple, a psychiatrist specializing in delusions of grandeur, tries through skeptical methods to make David, Kevin, and Elijah discover the reality of their condition, not as superhumans, but as people with mental problems, making them doubt themselves and their abilities.

The movie has good things, but unfortunately it also has some flaws. From the point of view of the staging, of photography, I must say that it is inferior to its predecessors, however, the work is not bad, it is acceptably good. The introduction of each character is great, and the confrontations are exactly what the audience expected.

However, M. Night Shyamalan is wrong in several aspects, the first is the inclusion of the character Casey Cooke, the teenager who was kidnapped by The Horde in Split, to whom he grants a participation that was simply not necessary, which is a hindrance for the development of the story, and not because of the actress Anya Taylor-Joy but because her role here is not important.

Shyamalan's next mistake occurs near the end, the last 20 minutes are a disaster according to my perception, and this is because the director decides not only include a surprise twist that changes everything, as he usually does in his other films, and neither two twists, but three twists!

Although the first twist is completely acceptable, and makes all the pieces fit in place, giving the viewer satisfaction, as it gives another point of view to the story but is perfectly consistent, according to my personal interpretation, the second twist not only is responsible for ruining this film but also the meaning of the trilogy, creating a more complex and elaborate hidden story that even moderately redeems the figure of the villain, Mr. Glass. The third twist is simply insufficient, the impact generated by the radical change in the conception of history introduced by Shyamalan makes his third twist, with which tries to satisfy the audience, a completely useless effort.

The performances are fine, Bruce Willis as David Dunn does an acceptable job, James McAvoy again as Kevin Wendell Crumb makes a wonderful performance playing his multiple personalities, especially The Beast, and on the other hand is Samuel L. Jackson, who like Willis returns to his role as Elijah Price after 19 years, and he does it very well. Spencer Treat Clark also returns to finish the story after almost two decades, the difference is that his character evolved from child to adult, so it is practically a new character. Anya Taylor-Joy receives the worst part, because her character is insubstantial on this occasion, everything she does is unsatisfactory although it is not her fault. Charlayne Woodard returns to play Elijah's mother again, and she does it well. Finally, Sarah Paulson is the new element, and although she does well in the first part of the film, the second twist introduced by Shyamalan ruins her character according to my perception.

In short, it is a good film, entertaining but far from perfection, it remains at the level of its predecessors, but although it has the confrontation expected by the audience, I feel that it is the weakest of the trilogy.

    Trailer

    Score

    7/10

Good direction, good performances, a story that talks about believing in ourselves and that the extraordinary is possible, but that has some flaws in the script, such as the inclusion of unnecessary characters, incoherent twists, and the fact that the story depends totally on Unbreakable and Split, in which it puts all its bases. Although this film serves as a good ending to the trilogy, in turn, this does not have a good ending. I recommend it only to those who saw the previous films of the trilogy, the rest is not necessary.

  8. Glass Review!@filotasriza32706d

The past days.... i mean the past week plus some days as a bonus i was a bit sick. Turns out 2019 has something against me but at the very least i am doing better. That's why i have to treat myself and what's better than a movie! A couple of hours ago i came back from the cinema in where i watched GLASS. I will try to avoid any spoilers because i know.... i am too good to be true!

    A Few Words

This is a movie that was directed and produced by M. Night Shyamalan and was out in January 2019. It's a sequel of the movies Unbreakable that came out during 2000 and Split that came out during 2016. M. Night Shyamalan was also the Director of those 2 movies so you may find some similarities given the whole style.

Now in order to watch Glass as you can imagine you should watch the previous movies by date order or you won't get many references, fan service even though the director tries to make the film easy to get even if you haven't watch the other 2.  I strongly advice though to watch these 2 films cause it will uplift the whole experience.

Before you say anything about the date of the first movie (2000) let me tell you that i was one of the few people that haven't watched Unbreakable or Split and i watched yesterday. Honestly, both of the movies are great and no matter the date the first one came out you can still watch and enjoy it. Having said that i believe i am quite the reliable person to give a review about this film cause i remember every detail of both 3 movies.

    Plot Of The "Trilogy"

    Unbreakable (2000)

This films starts with a train crush in which only one person survived unscratched and it's David Dunn played by Bruce Willis who works as a security guard. His life seems a little bit of a mess or a routine with the only joy being his young son.

Soon after the crash he receives an invitation by Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson) who has a disease since he was born that make his bones extremely week and therefore had many accidents during his life. Elijah starts telling his theory about the world and that is that the comics represent stories that based on reality ofc with the added salt to make sales.

    In Other Words SUPERHEROES EXISTS

David goes back home thinking this was some kind of scam to take his money but he start thinking this a bit more thoroughly and discovers that he can't remember himself being sick even once and that he can also lift quite the weight. Weight that even bodybuilders can have a hard time. He also finds out that when he touches someone, something like instinct work and can detect if the person had make a bad action like hurting others, abducting, stealing etc etc.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_f1uCWKZQs

That's all i am gonna reveal for the film, go watch it for more!

    Split (2016)

This film cuts to the chase from the start as we see Dennis to abduct 3 young girls. Turns out that Dennis or should i say Patricia or Jade or Barry or maybe Hedwig.... Screw it let's just say James McAvoy. To be more exact we are talking about Kevin's body (did i confuse you?) that has a personality disorder like no other. Generally speaking you may have heard of bipolar people but Kevin has 24 identities.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84TouqfIsiI

Each identity is so deeply rooted in his brain that can affect his whole body. To give you some examples, one identity may wear glasses but the other one can see crystal clear. The main reason that abducts the girls is to "sacrifice" them in order to bring forth the 24th and strongest personality called The Beast which can crawl on walls and has superhuman strength.

That's all i am gonna reveal for the film, go watch it for more!

    Glass (2019)

Glass is the last movie of the trilogy that ties everything together. David has embraced his superhuman strength and instinct and while he isn't working with his son, he catches bad guys. Meanwhile Kevin or better the Horde, a part of personalities in Kevin's body that "worship" and believe in the Beast gather women to be sacrifices.

Soon there is a showdown between The Beast and David but they got interrupted by the police and a psychologist named Dr Ellie Staple (Sarah Paulson). The psychologist gathers them in an asylum where Elijah is there as well, a bit drugged from all the medicines though.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95ghQs5AmNk

Dr Ellie says that she works with people that believe they are superheroes but in fact it's just a brain disorder and wanna help them get back in their real selves in order to avoid getting hurt or hurt others. She tries to convinced with arguments that everything that happened in the previous movies has logical explanations and it's not due to their superhuman abilities.

    What's the truth though?

    Will there be another Showdown?

    What will finally happens?

Did I Like It & Why?

Because i am pretty cool as i said i didn't do any spoilers so thank for that when you watch it. Honestly, i read quite the bad reviews about the style of the director that has been changed through the years and stuff but in my opinion all the people that are saying this are plain stupid. Because i saw the other 2 movies yesterday i can assure you that the style remained the same but way too many people want this movie to have a Marvel like Style.

A thing that i particularly like is the whole perspective that this movie game. That is that "superheroes" can be everyday people with weaknesses and their powers can be just a tiny bit better than the average human being and still seem like a whole other level. The atmosphere was great, the fight scenes quite good for what the show wanna show and that is exactly what i mentioned above (the other perspective of people with superpowers) and the movie is a bit slow as his other films which i like.

There are quite some plot twists which i extremely liked and the ending was a masterpiece in my opinion. The cast is the same something truly amazing, we get to see David's son who was a child to be grownass man by now! I really find funny the fact that the director does cameos on his own films like Stan Lee did :p

The only drawback is that he tries to explain what happened in the other 2 movies with many flashbacks and stuff that i think take over 10-20 minutes of the movie and result in being a little tiresome. I get though why he does it and that is because many of the retards that go and watch the movie simply haven't watch the previous ones...

that's how should you feel if you haven't watch it yet!

  9. Glass: supereroi secondo Shyamalan@serialfiller2715d

    C'è qualcuno dietro a muovere i fili?

  10. Glass (2019) - Movie Review@coldsteem2717d

Glass may be a trilogy. Or it may be M. Night Shyamalan's attempt to bring together his films Unbreakable and Split. I think the general consensus is that this is the final installment of a planned trilogy. My impression is different. This feels like an afterthought to me. A contrived, sloppy attempt to reconcile the previous films into a single narrative. I could be wrong here. I don't know that we will ever know for sure. Because this film does combine the previous two films, I will call it a trilogy, even if it was an unplanned one.

David Dunn (Bruce Willis) owns a small security company. It seems apt that a guy who hunts petty criminals would sell camera and alarm systems to potential victims. Dunn was the lone survivor of a train crash. He has an uncanny ability to survive. His strength is superhuman. His weakness is water. It is a classic comic book irony. Every super human has to have their kryptonite. Kevin Crumb (James McAvoy) had a troubled upbringing. His disturbing past created a split personality with twenty different entities residing in his head. One of them, the Beast, has super human strength as well. Crumb is also a serial killer who preys on young girls. Some of his personalities don't approve. Collectively, they call themselves "the horde." Mr. Glass AKA Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson) is an evil mastermind. He has a rare disorder that makes his bones as brittle as glass. He has a keen intellect that allows him to think many moves ahead. Even in a drug-induced stupor. The three characters are brought together by Dr. Ellie Staple (Sarah Paulson) at a psychiatric hospital for treatment. Crumb is controlled by flashing strobe lights, Dunn by water jets and Glass through massive doses of sedative. It seems a recipe for disaster, destined to set up the classic battle of good vs. evil.

This is another original screenplay from the mind of M. Night Shyamalan who doesn't seem to quite recreate the magic of Sixth Sense. That film stands alone as a work of genius. Films like The Village failed to measure up. Coming out of the gate with a blockbuster makes it hard to measure up to with later films. I enjoyed Unbreakable. Split was a little bit disappointing. I think I liked this film somewhere in the same range of Split. It was good, but disappointing. The characters are great. It just feels contrived and a bit sloppy. The pacing was uneven. It was good for stretches, but also felt bogged down at times. I would have liked a film that was a bit tighter and less contrived.

The bright spot of Glass is the cast. Bruce Willis is amazing for guy in his sixties. He still delivers. And he is believable. Jackson is over-saturated for me. It would be nice to go to the theater and watch the trailers without seeing him. He was in two of the trailers for Glass. It's ridiculous. It's like Hollywood can't find anyone other than him or Duane Johnson to star in a film. But honestly, he is solid. He is typecast, but solid. The star of this cast was James McAvoy. He looked jacked as the Beast. And his transition between characters felt seamless. Often in rapid succession. It was eerie. McAvoy is growing on me. The rest of the cast was solid. Although I do have one complaint about the costumes and make up. Charlayne Woodard plays Elijah Price's mother (she is actually five years younger than Jackson). The make up they used to make her look older had a plastic texture to it. It was unnecessarily distracting to me.

Like many superhero films, Glass targets a teen audience. The film navigates the MPAA deftly, earning a friendly PG-13 rating. The film deals with some tough issues like kidnapped girls and talk of murder. The film includes a couple of deaths with a mild gore factor. There are also some language issues, although modest. This film should be fine for teens and tweens or above. The plot can be hard to follow and may be confusing to younger viewers. I don't think it would induce nightmares, although there are a couple of tense scenes. The run time is a bit long at two hours, nine minutes.

Glass will appeal to the Shyamalan fan-boys. It will deliver for fans of comic-derived films. I enjoyed it. It could have been better. The pacing was uneven and the plot convoluted, but the characters were engaging. The film had everything one would expect from a superhero film. In fact, in case you aren't tracking, the dialogue often queues the audience in as to how certain scenes fit into the classic comic narrative. It was an interesting "almost-fourth-wall" choice that wasn't too distracting. I think Shyamalan was having a bit of fun with the audience. While I left this film a bit disappointed, I managed to like it enough to give it a favorable rating. 7/10.

  12. Insomniac Trailer Reactions: Glass@rvgenaille2798d

I have no idea how I missed this one. This is a sequel, of sorts, to Unbreakable and Split, bringing together characters from both movies. This actually looks kind of good, I don’t know what to say. Does the trailer give away too much? I don’t know. It is called to see Bruce Willis trying again though.
