  1. John Wick 2 Reviews@kapitanrosomak2150d

Let's start from the beginning. The film begins when John, tired again from all this, returns home with his car and from his perspective it might seem that this is the final end of Camphor's activities (I associate Wick with camphor), he enjoys a glass of alcohol, he has a new dog, he knows everything he has done. she is already behind him and can finally rest.

However, unexpectedly, an old friend shows up and asks him for a favor. So someone will call BabaJage again. Initially, he does not want to, which results in the house burned down, but eventually he agrees to complete the mission.

The very preparation of the mission and the elimination of the target reminded me very much of the actions of the game Hitman, with this difference from Janek not dressing up and wearing his suit all the time, however, the planning and reaching the goal are clearly inspired by the entire envelope of the event. Thanks to that, the entire elimination scene is interestingly presented.

The script in this movie comes in second place, although the movie is more idiotic here it is, but one that can turn a blind eye. Our John is a living killing machine that does not take light bullets and shoots anything even with pencils, so the viewer gets a very effective cinema

The finale surprised me very positively, because we receive something contrary to our expectations, thanks to which we do not know until the last second how it may end.

We already know the next part and two more are in progress, so the story of the spirit will stay with us for a while. When John completes the task, he condemns himself to kill because the elimination of the target causes someone to give Johnny as much as $ 7 million on his head and the hunt begins.

Only the king of bums will be able to help him find the person responsible for all this chaos.

The film dazzles with unusual and acrobatic feats and a huge number of dead bodies. In one of the scenes, it seemed to me that our main character is like a character from the game because he kills the opponents like domestos, germs. Of course, the movie also has smaller and larger bosses and here I had a slight grasp as long as one of the opponents is trampling on Wick's legs and it looks very effective so the final opponent is a real failure.

The magic of the whole movie is based on the code, if someone breaks a point in the code, he is expelled from the "family". An interesting character, apart from Camphor, is also the figure of a woman who in the film does not make any sound, such a literally silent killer who tries to make John's life difficult

Ok, light stupidity in the film is the teleportation from Italy to the USA through the tunnel;) You know this is a mental shortcut, but it was enough to put a plane to make it look authentic and this is how we have Italy once and in a moment we get a hotel in the USA; more interesting than the first part, fewer plot holes and watching it more pleasantly, on the other hand, it is an action movie that is supposed to make you rejuvenate, so do not expect pure and rather pleasant entertainment philosophy.

  2. Review Film: John Wick Chapter 2@film-trail3234d

After returning to the criminal underworld to repay a debt, John Wick discovers that a large bounty has been put on his life.

    REVIEW

Three years ago maybe no one would have thought if the obsolete premise of the duo Chad Stahelski and David Leitch about the assassins who were forced to work again for personal revenge could be a sleeper hit and great success made the fans of action cheer. Yes, now John Wick has returned again in his new round with a more brutal action parade, a world of broader assassins, more complex conflicts and, of course, new dogs.

Chad Stahelski immediately steps on the gas starting Chapter Two directly with the action chase that culminates ravaged the headquarters of the Russian mafia by the figure of a hitman dubbed Baba Yaga aka The Boogeyman who supposedly had killed three people with a pencil that none other than John Wick the legend. Yes, Derek Kolstad's plot can be as simple as its predecessor but it is so creative and effective. Lastly, as we know, John Wick who decided to retire from the business of assassins and live happily with his wife who loves to die of cancer. Wick is sadly harassed later with a Russian bandit who stole his 1969 Mustang prize and killed a small beagle giving his wife. After that, we both know what happened. Well, in the sequel Wick thinks his business is completely finished with the Russians and he can bury everything back for good. But of course, that never happened when an Italian mob boss, Santino D'Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio) came and collected Wick's debt in the past by commissioning a difficult mission, killing Santino's sister Gianna (Claudia Gerini) to get Supreme power.

As if wanting to thicken a sequel label meaning there will be a lot of "more", Stahelski really doubles everything here becomes bigger, more brutal and more complicated than ever. If in the first series of the underworld of a mercenary syndicate with all the rules of Continental only portrayed on a limited surface, Chapter Two invites us to go deeper into a never-ending vicious circle where there will always be revenge when one kills another together A code of honor among the assassins to which their members must obey. It is interesting to see how the Continental system works so neatly and systematically that it is able to give both mysterious and comedic side to John Wick's future story that is no longer personal. If the first series shows only big hotels in the middle of Manhattan, there are now more Continental sides that we can explore, from female operators to old fashioned process contests or work contracts or see when Wick looks for new weapons and clothes suits.

When the narrative is able to develop well with the end that you can not wait to wait for its Chapter Three, the action part is like not to be outdone. Stahelski re-polishes every action with more brutality with fascinating choreographing arrangements in crisp cinematography Dan Laustsen (Crimson Peak) and fast editing without ever becoming too noisy and excessive. The gun-fu parade dominates Chapter Two with a high degree of intensity. There were more shots, stabbing, kicking and kicking and falling victim, including a spectacularly close-up battle of maximum adrenaline, as when Wick faced Cassian (Common) on a New York subway or climax when it involved shooting in a glass room. While Reeves is still equally fascinating when he appeared three years ago bringing this new titular character with many dangerous stunts that do themselves as we can see in social media. Cold and deadly, it did not take origins to describe the haunted figure of John Wick, just from the reactions of the people around him, how they honor this anti-hero figure with a look of admiration, reverence, and fear.

    RATING (7,6/10)

  3. Insomniac Film Festival #13: John Wick Chapter 2@rvgenaille3268d

    IMG_2716.PNG -via IMDB.com

When John Wick was released a couple of years ago, I was really excited about it. I loved the simplicity of the concept, a man goes out for revenge against the guys that killed his dog. As a dog lover, I totally got it. The action was intense and the stakes felt real and seemed to be staged in an original way to keep me interested. Add to that the story elements, the hotel, the other hit-people, etc. And it was an original take on an an old revenge theme.

I really wanted to love John Wick Chapter 2. I really did. I didn't though. It has some great elements going in though. I like Keanu Reeves. I like Ruby Rose. But there was something not right about this one. Was it the lack of stakes that made the last one so strong? Was it the fact John was essentially bulletproof in this film as opposed to the last one where he was far more vulnerable? Was it the blatant setting up of a third film? I don't know.

I love implausible action films but for some reason this one didn't work all that well for me. It felt less meaningful than the last one and more just images on the screen.

  4. John Wick Chapter 2--Blu-ray Review--Keanu returns@mctiller3285d

    John Wick Chapter 2 Blu-Ray

I didn't watch this in theater.  I got this is as disc rental from Netflix.

The first John Wick was an unexpected thrill of a movie, here was a movie about a talented hitman who took revenge because some people took his car and his dog.

Chapter 2 isn't as original as the first.  It lacks the connection that made the first so fun.

But it creates its own world and it lives in that world fully.

Wick is a former member of the Continental Crime organization.  He got out in the first movie, which allowed him to marry and have a life.

But he is approached to come back into the life by crime lord Santino D'Antonio and asked to murder his sister Gianna, so that he could have a seat at the High Table, a group of crime families.  And to get Wick to do this he hands him a Marker.  A Marker is an antique pendant with blood markers from two different people inside.  A reminder of a blood oath.

Wick turns the blood oath down.

So D'Anonio burns his house down.

Now under normal plot structure Wick would hunt down D'Antonio right away.  Instead he discusses his issue with Winston, the head crime boss, played perfectly by Ian McShane.  Winston reminds that there are two unbreakable rules in this crime world, first no killing on the Continental Hotel Grounds, and no turning down a blood oath.  With no house to go back to, Wick visits D'Antonio to make nice and take the job.

And we briefly see Lawerence Fishburne reunite with Keanu.

That's all the plot that is needed for the movie.

After he does the job of killing, he doesn't leave in the secret manner that got him into the room to kill his mark.  Instead he walks through a crowded music concert/party.  He runs into Gianna's bodyguard, Cassian, played by Common.  So of course the shooting starts.  Again, why he didn't leave through the secret passages?  Well, I don't think we're supposed to ask that question.

The action scenes are well orchestrated, they function more like gymnastics with guns and blood.  Wick kills dozens of people in a few minutes despite being outnumbered.  But Wick does get injured, he limps and bleeds, and needs help, which is different from say James Bond.

(Neo, I mean, Wick getting help from Morpheus, I mean The Bowery King.)

The Strength of the movie is in its art direction.

The Continental was clearly created in the 1930s and still uses technology from then, and somewhere in the early 1980s it upgrade to computers.  But it hasn't since.  Which makes for a fun idea of how it works.

    Rule Breaking Wick

Wick broke one rule of refusing the Blood Oath, so of course he needs to break the other rule.  He gets revenge for his house when kills D'Antonio on the grounds of the Continental.

This actually makes for the most interesting part of the movie.  Winston excommunicates Wick from his protection and puts out a world wide hit on Wick.  Winston in his magnanimous manner informs him that he has an hour before the contract becomes open.  This is the most scary and interesting part of the movie.  Wick leaves his meeting Winston, and begins seeing all the people around him looking at their phones apparently seeing the news of the contract being sent to their phones.

For the first time in the movie you can sense true fear in John Wick.

I guess we'll have to wait for chapter 3 to see that fear play out.
