A few weeks ago Landman premiered and having already seen its first episodes I want to give you my first impressions of the series.

Taylor Sheridan is taking it upon himself to be the new King of the Series, he is creating and producing a lot. This man's schedule must be at capacity every day. Stress levels to a million. Of course, his bank account must also be growing at a rapid pace. By the way, one of the rumors on social media, is that he has to pay off a million dollar ranch he bought and that's why he's been on his way with the production company to do a certain amount of new series.

I am also watching the last season of Yellowstone, which caused him headaches because of the conflict with Constner. I'm also enjoying the second season of Lioness, also from Shridan. I'll post about both seasons later. The one I did drop in its second season was the series with Stallone.

Landman has everything that characterizes Sheridan's series. Pure hardcore entertainment. Full of testosterone and in this case set in the world of the oil industry. Covering everything from the workers of these companies, through the middlemen and up to the owners of the companies. A world of big money and corruption, as the series makes clear at the beginning of its first episode.

This time the series does not focus on the main boss. Tommy works for a big oil company, whose boss is Monty Miller. Although much remains to be discovered about Tommy's past. Apparently, he had a chance to be one of the big boys, but his skills allow him to do the dirty work better.

Hace unas semanas se estrenó Landman y habiendo visto ya sus primeros episodios quiero darles mis primeras impresiones de la serie.

Taylor Sheridan se está encargando de ser el nuevo Rey de las Series, está creando y produciendo un montón. La agenda de este hombre debe estar a tope todos los días. Niveles de estrés a millón. Por supuesto, su cuenta bancaria también debe estar creciendo a buen ritmo. Por cierto, uno de los rumores que corren en las redes sociales, es que debe pagar un rancho millonario que compró y por eso se ha portado con la productora para hacer cierta cantidad de series nuevas.

También estoy viendo la última temporada de Yellowstone, que le causó dolores de cabeza por el conflicto con Constner. También estoy disfrutando de la segunda temporada de Lioness, también de Shridan. Más adelante publicaré un post sobre ambas temporadas. La que sí dejé de lado en su segunda temporada fue la serie con Stallone.

Landman tiene todo lo que caracteriza a las series de Sheridan. Entretenimiento puro y duro. Lleno de testosterona y en este caso ambientado en el mundo de la industria petrolera. Cubriendo desde los trabajadores de estas empresas, pasando por los intermediarios y llegando a los dueños de las mismas. Un mundo de mucho dinero y corrupción, como deja claro la serie al principio de su primer episodio.

Esta vez la serie no se centra en el jefe principal. Tommy trabaja para una gran compañía petrolera, cuyo jefe es Monty Miller. Aunque queda mucho por descubrir sobre el pasado de Tommy. Al parecer, tuvo la oportunidad de ser uno de los grandes, pero sus habilidades le permiten hacer mejor el trabajo sucio.

As in some of his other series, there is always danger, and not just because of the work the men have to do there. There is something of a social conscience here, as he emphasizes the dangers and working conditions in the industry. The workers earn very well, but most of them are former criminals, people from the lower strata, who have to do this hard work and whose lives are in danger.

I liked the story and the male characters. Even the character of Cooper Norris, Tommy's son, who leaves college to work there, has big plans, so he has to become a strong, tough man. He will have a traumatic experience in the first episode and I can already see where his plot will go and who he will be paired with.

What I found unbearable in this Sheridan series were some of the female characters. Angela, Tommy's ex-wife, a shallow woman, a MILF who only seems to be interested in her body and spending money. But she is Ansley Norris, Tommy's daughter. An unbearable and unpleasant character. Pretty physically, but the character provokes to kill her for acting in such an idiotic way. I think the problem is that the actress is about 26 or 27 years old, and she plays a teenager, so her behavior is extremely ridiculous. Bad choice of actress, they should have looked for a real teenager.

The character Cami Miller is the one that intrigues me, so far she seems very secondary, but the actress who plays her is Demi Moore, so she will surely gain prominence soon. The rest of the cast looks very good to me. Billy Bob Thorton as the protagonist and owner of the story. Jon Hamm as Tommy's boss. Ali Larter as the ditzy ex-wife.

It's a drama and at the same time it has very funny situations. I invite you to watch this new series by Sheridan, if you have already seen his other series, you know that the quality is guaranteed.

La ambientacion es en Texas, por lo que hay mucho de Cowboy en la serie, algo que también apasiona a Sheridan. Como en otras de sus series, siempre hay peligro, y no sólo por el trabajo que los hombres tienen que hacer allí. Aquí hay algo de conciencia social, ya que hace hincapié en los peligros y las condiciones de trabajo en la industria. Los trabajadores ganan muy bien, pero la mayoría son ex delincuentes, gente de los estratos más bajos, que tienen que hacer este duro trabajo y cuyas vidas corren peligro.

Me gustó el arranque de la historia y los personajes masculinos. Incluso el personaje de Cooper Norris, el hijo de Tommy, que deja la universidad para trabajar allí, tiene grandes planes, por lo que debe convertirse en un hombre fuerte y duro. Tendrá una experiencia traumática en el primer episodio y ya puedo ver por dónde va a ir su trama y con quién se va a emparejar.

Lo que me ha parecido insoportable en esta serie de Sheridan, han sido algunos de los personajes femeninos. Angela, la ex mujer de Tommy, una mujer superficial, una MILF a la que sólo parece interesarle su cuerpo y gastar dinero. Pero es Ansley Norris, la hija de Tommy. Un personaje insoportable y desagradable. Guapa físicamente, pero el personaje provoca matarla por actuar de forma tan idiota. Creo que el problema es que la actriz tiene unos 26 o 27 años, e interpreta a una adolescente, por lo que su comportamiento resulta extremadamente ridículo. Mala elección de actriz, deberían haber buscado una adolescente de verdad.

El personaje Cami Miller es el que me intriga, hasta ahora parece muy secundario, pero la actriz que la interpreta es Demi Moore, así que seguramente ganará protagonismo pronto. El resto del reparto me parece muy bueno. Billy Bob Thorton como el protagonista y dueño de la historia. Jon Hamm como el jefe de Tommy. Ali Larter como la ex-esposa tonta.

Es un drama y a la vez tiene situaciones muy divertidas. Te invito a ver esta nueva serie de Sheridan, si ya has visto otras series suyas, sabes que la calidad está garantizada.
