Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons

This is the movie that I know of the story before I watched it because friends and family have been talking about it. And comprehending it so easy.

Four wealthy and close friends: Ayo, Amaju, Remi and Naz were the center character of the movie. These guys live the kind of lifestyle many people would probably describe as the dream. They have money, expensive cars, beautiful women, and enough confidence to enter almost any room as if they own it. They also use their influence and resources to help people who are being taken advantage of.

The movie starts to get interesting when a powerful politician wants to demolish a village to build a shopping mall. The villagers are obviously against the idea, but because of the politician's influence, stopping him isn't exactly something ordinary people can easily do.

This is where the Merry Men come in.

Instead of simply standing by and watching the villagers lose their homes, the four friends decide to interfere. And naturally, because this is a movie about four wealthy men who seem to have unlimited confidence, they don't exactly approach the problem quietly. 😂

What I enjoyed about the movie was the way it mixed comedy, romance and action. The characters spend a lot of time joking around and getting themselves into ridiculous situations, but whenever things become serious, they are willing to put themselves at risk for other people.

Ayo, Amaju, Remi and Naz also have very different personalities, which makes their friendship entertaining to watch. They argue, tease each other and sometimes make questionable decisions, but there is still a strong sense of loyalty between them.

The Yoruba demons part of the title makes sense because these guys have absolutely no shortage of confidence when it comes to women. 😂 They are smooth, fashionable and clearly enjoy the attention they receive. At times, their womanizing becomes part of the comedy, although it also creates some problems for them. But I don't think Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons was trying to be an extremely serious film in the first place. It wanted to entertain, and for the most part, it achieved that.

The friendship between the four men stood out the mot. Despite their flaws and the trouble they constantly find themselves in, they are always willing to stand together when it matters.

I must say the movie is an entertaining mixture of comedy, romance, action and drama. It has its unrealistic moments, so if you are looking for a light Nigerian movie with plenty of humour, stylish characters and some action, this is one that can keep you entertained.
