Está serie es una de esas que se quedan grabadas en tu memoria, y que son fáciles de recordar.. no solo por su humor, sino que por la manera en la que te hace sentir parte de la familia, acompañándolos durante tantas temporadas. Para el que no la haya visto.. la serie sigue la vida de tres familias que están interconectadas, y que a pesar de las diferencias, comparten algunos momentos cotidianos que están llenos de humor..
Lo primero que llama la atención de esta serie, es su formato de falso documental, donde los personajes hablan directamente a la cámara, rompiendo la cuarta pared, algo que estuvo muy de moda en las series hace algunos años, seguramente reconocen este formato de la serie The Office. Esta es una técnica que aquí se aprovecha bastante, ya que le da un toque de realismo y nos ayuda a conectar un poco más con estos interesantes personajes. Por ejemplo, uno de los mejores personajes y de los más entrañables, es Phil Dunphy, la mayor parte protagoniza escenas muy graciosas y ver sus respuestas en las mini entrevistas siempre están geniales para dar el último gancho. Luego tenemos a Mitchell y a Cameron, una pareja gay que adopta a una pequeña niña vietnamita llamada Lily.. su relación es retratada de manera realista y con cariño, abordando temas como la paternidad, y claramente los prejuicios de una manera cautivadora, y claramente graciosa también. Making a satire and at the same time a reflection of a more modern family.
Entre las cosas que son más interesantes de esta serie, es como logra mantenerte entretenido con las tramas secundarias, y como logra que los detalles combinen para causarte gracia. Cómo la mayoría de las sitcom, en esta serie se exploran tramas episódicas, no hay como una trama principal.. pero esto, más allá de aburrir, hace que te sorprenderás cada vez más por las cosas que pasan esta familia.. sin necesidad de caer en situaciones demasiado absurdas, podemos ver cómo se mezclan estos personajes y tratar de resolver o hacer algo en específico y como las cosas dejan de ser simples, dándole paso a la comedia.
También siento que algunas veces tocan temas serios, sin perder de vista el humor, cosas como la competitividad entre los miembros de la familia, desafíos parentales, y las complejidades de las relaciones interpersonales, Modern Family muestra esto sin perder el enfoque principal que es hacerte reír, es genial ver dinámicas familiares que pueden ser muy parecidas a las de nosotros mismos, eso hace que uno se identifique.. Haciendo una sátira y al mismo tiempo un reflejo a una familia realmente más moderna.

Y es justamente eso lo que la hizo en su momento tan popular, no se trata de una familia nuclear tradicional, sino de una familia mucho más extendida, con segundos matrimonios, hijos de diferentes edades y origines, una pareja gay criando a una pequeña hija.. nos muestra que no porque una familia sea diferente, deja de ser una familia, de cierta manera es bueno reflexionar y ver cómo lo que realmente importa dentro de un núcleo familiar es el amor y el cariño. Nos dan una representación inclusiva y diversa, muy refrescante en su momento y ahora mismo también, considero que en su estreno fue muy necesaria. En cuanto a producción.. esta serie está bien hecha, tiene un estilo propio, aunque tima el elemento de falso documental, no se siente cómo una copia descarada de otra serie, sino que tiene ese algo distintivo.
Las actuaciones me parecen buenas, Desde Jay, Sofía Vergara como Gloria.. Ty Burrel cómo Phil son realmente graciosos en sus roles.. Los actores más jóvenes van evolucionando mucho conforme pasan las temporadas, lo hacen increíble también, es lindo ver cómo van creciendo poco a poco, ya que estamos hablando de 11 temporadas.. Está serie me gustó mucho, recuerdo verla más joven y menos mal, decidí verla completa hace unos años, creo que valió mucho la pena! No sé siente como una simple comedia random, es una serie que captura las complejidades y el humor de una familia hoy en día, una familia menos típica de lo común..
Seguro si le dan una oportunidad, terminarán riéndose mucho, como siempre tiene sus episodios buenos y sus episodios malos, no es como que absolutamente todos sean supergraciosos, pero sí sirven para pasar un buen rato. Le doy una calificación de 8/10. Espero puedan darle una oportunidad si no lo han hecho, y si como yo, solo habían visto algunos episodios sueltos en la televisión sin orden, los animo a verla en orden y completa, es un excelente plan para distraerse y reírse un rato. Nacida de la misma escuela de The Office con un formato de mockumentary grabado con múltiples cámaras, Modern Family es una representación cálida y entretenida del estilo de vida americano, con todos sus defectos y fortalezas incluidos.

A nivel personal Modern Family es una serie que me fascina no solo por su brillante amor (Potenciado totalmente por su gran dirección y ritmo general) sino por el ingenio con el que decidía abordar ciertos temas delicados que toman cada vez más y más prominencia en nuestra realidad.
Desde la homosexualidad hasta el racismo, pasando por los contrastes sociales entre las distintas clases de Estados Unidos, Modern Family supo manejar todo esto con habilidad, siendo respetuosa sin tener que abandonar la irreverencia. Este balance tan complicado que logra desde su primer episodio es la clave cuando se trata de mantener esta armonía que hace que esta serie se sienta como ninguna.
Modern Family transmite comodidad, tenemos la oportunidad de ver tanto a los niños como a los adultos crecer a lo largo de los años y también podemos aprender lecciones en el camino. Es un slice of life que incluye en cada frames mensajes trascendentales.
Es curioso que luego de tantos años casi la olvidé totalmente, porque sus tanto sus chistes como el desarrollo de sus personajes y el cómo evolucionan orgánicamente se han quedado grabado a fuego en mi cerebro, solo bastó con que Netflix decidiera retirarlo de su plantilla para hacer resurgir todas esas lindas memorias. Una sitcom que sin duda puede coexistir con gigantes como The Office o Silicon Valley, no porque sea artísticamente la más prolija sino porque sabe entregarnos su corazón.
