We continue to revisit old movies; this time we’re not going too far back—just to 2010—for a moving, controversial story with some real-life lessons.
My Name Is Khan—that’s the title of this story, in which we follow a man traveling across the country with a single goal. What makes him different? Well, Khan has a condition: Asperger’s syndrome. This makes him special and, in turn, shapes the film’s plot, showing that despite this, he can lead a normal life and even have a family.

Khan is a Muslim boy who was raised by his mother and has Asperger’s syndrome; as an adult, he falls in love with Mandira, a Hindu single mother living in San Francisco.
During the 9/11 attacks, he is detained as a terrorism suspect due to suspicious behavior—a result of his condition. He then embarks on a journey to find and meet with President Barack Obama, in order to clear his name and make it clear that he is not a terrorist, but during this journey, he will find himself in a difficult situation.
This film is from India; as I mentioned, it was released in 2010. It’s a story full of drama, romance, and terrorism, combined with the events following 9/11, showing the innocent side of a person with this condition, how cruel humanity can be, but at the same time, unity and peace.
It’s a story full of emotions; I don’t want to spoil it for you in case you haven’t seen it, but you’ll cry, laugh a little—it has it all. I watched it and now I remember it, since my nephew is autistic, and I think about his childlike innocence and what he’ll be like as an adult—just as brave, dreamy, and intelligent. They’re much more sensitive than we are; they have big hearts and don’t know what evil is. That’s why we have to love them and learn from them.

Seguimos recordando viejas películas, está vez no nos vamos muy lejos, solo en el 2010, un historia conmovedora, controversial, con algunas enseñanzas de la vida en el mundo real.
Mi nombre es khan, así se llama esta historia, dónde veremos a un hombre, recorriendo el país, con un solo objetivo, que tiene de diferente, bueno khan tiene una condición, el síndrome de Asperger, esto lo hace especial y a su vez la trama de la película, mostrando que a pesar de ello, puede tener una vida normal e incluso una familia.
Khan es un niño musulmán que se crió con su madre, y que sufre de síndrome de Asperger, al ser un adulto se enamora de Mandira, una madre soltera hindú que vive en San Francisco.
En los atentados del 11-S, es detenido como sospechoso de terrorismo por conducta sospechosa, esto debido a su condición, entonces comienza un viaje para encontrar y reunirse con el presidente Barack Obama, para así limpiar su nombre y dejar en claro que él no es un terrorista, pero en el transcurso de este viaje, se encontrará en casa situación.
Está película es de origen de la India, cómo dije fue estrenada en el 2010, es una historia llena de drama, romance, terrorismo, combinado con los hechos después del 11 -S, mostrando esa parte inocente de una persona con esta condición, lo cruel que puede ser la humanidad, pero a la vez, la unión y la paz.
Es una historia llena de emociones, no les quiero hacer spoiler por si no la han visto, pero aquí lloraran, reiran un poco, en fin tiene de todo, yo la vi y ahora la recuerdo, puesto que mi sobrino es autista, y pienso, en su inocencia de niño, y cómo será de adulto, así de valiente, soñador e inteligente, ellos son mucho más susceptible que nosotros, tienen un gran corazón, no saben lo que es la maldad, por eso hay que amarlos, y aprender de ellos.
Si no la han visto, los invito a que lo hagan, es una exelente película para ver en familia.
