¡Hola amigos! Les cuento que ya empecé con las películas navideñas porque es una de mis festividades favoritas del año, así que hoy les traigo la reseña de una de las nuevas películas navideñas que se estrenaron en la plataforma de Netflix. Les estoy hablando de Nuestro secretito.
Hello friends! I tell you that I already started with Christmas movies because it is one of my favorite holidays of the year, so today I bring you the review of one of the new Christmas movies that were released on the Netflix platform. I'm talking about Our Little Secret.
Trama - Plot
Esta historia trata sobre Avery y Logan, dos personas que se conocen desde pequeños y tuvieron una gran amistad que al ir creciendo se convirtió en un noviazgo, pero un día su relación se rompe y ya no vuelven a verse hasta dentro de 10 años cuando van a pasar la Navidad a la casa de sus suegros, ya que Avery sale con un hombre que es el hermano de la novia de Logan. Así que tras superar el shock inicial los dos fingen que no se conocen, pero puede que esta convivencia forzada les vuelva a despertar su antiguo amor.
This story is about Avery and Logan, two people who have known each other since they were little and had a great friendship that grew into a courtship, but one day their relationship breaks up and they don't see each other again for another 10 years when they go to spend Christmas at their in-laws' house, since Avery is dating a man who is the brother of Logan's girlfriend. So after getting over the initial shock the two pretend they don't know each other, but maybe this forced cohabitation will reawaken their old love.
Reseña - Review
Una nueva película de navidad protagonizada por Lindsay Lohan siempre es una buena opción para ver en esta época del año. Aunque debo decir que no es una de mis favoritas que la tiene a ella como protagonista, pero me pareció entretenida y está bien para pasar el rato. La trama no es nada nueva, era todo bastante obvio porque encima los hermanos pasaban tiempo juntos e iban con sus respectivas parejas, por lo que no les quedaba de otra que pasar el rato juntos también. Así que tenían que mantener la farsa, pero mientras tanto se volvían a conocer desde un lado más maduro.
A new Christmas movie starring Lindsay Lohan is always a good choice to watch this time of year. Although I must say it's not one of my favorites starring her, but I found it entertaining and it's good to pass the time. The plot is nothing new, it was all pretty obvious because on top of that the brothers spent time together and went with their respective partners, so they had no choice but to hang out together as well. So they had to keep up the charade, but in the meantime they got to know each other again from a more mature side.
Es curioso porque no me cayó muy bien la versión joven de Logan, creo que tuvo una actitud bastante inmadura y egoísta en su juventud con Avery justo antes de romper su relación al no querer que ella se vaya a estudiar a la ciudad, pero en su versión adulta se hace querer. En cambio, creo que Avery es un personaje sin muchos matices, no vi un gran cambio en ella. Sin dudas, mi personaje favorito en esta ocasión fue la suegra, una digna villana de este cuento navideño, pienso que fue un personaje con matices que supo como ganarse al público sin mucho esfuerzo, protagonizo muy bien su papel de suegra insoportable.
It's funny because I didn't like the young version of Logan very much, I think he had a rather immature and selfish attitude in his youth with Avery just before breaking their relationship by not wanting her to go to study in the city, but in his adult version he makes himself loved. In contrast, I think Avery is a character without much nuance, I didn't see a big change in her. Undoubtedly, my favorite character this time was the mother-in-law, a worthy villain of this Christmas story, I think it was a character with nuances that knew how to win the audience without much effort, she played very well her role of unbearable mother-in-law.
Hay algunos enredos amorosos propios de este género que no destacaron mucho tampoco. Estaban de excusa para hacer más interesante la trama o darle una digna vía de escape a los personajes principales. Me gustó el mensaje de las segundas oportunidades y de que cada uno pelea con sus propios fantasmas, tanto así que quizá no vea el potencial que tiene adelante por las inseguridades.
There are some love entanglements typical of this genre that didn't stand out much either. They were just an excuse to make the plot more interesting or to give the main characters a worthy escape route. I liked the message of second chances and that everyone fights their own ghosts, so much so that they may not see the potential ahead of them because of insecurities.
Como les dije, no creo que sea lo mejor que vi hasta ahora de Lindsay ni mucho menos, tampoco fue una historia navideña de esas que me fascinan, pero me resultó entretenida y pase un buen rato viéndola. Por lo que se las recomiendo si les gusta este estilo de películas o les da curiosidad verla.
As I said, I don't think it's the best thing I've seen so far from Lindsay, nor was it one of those Christmas stories that fascinate me, but I found it entertaining and I had a good time watching it. So I recommend it if you like this style of movies or if you are curious to see it.
