En la historia de la televisión, las series en las cuales uno o varios personajes resuelven misterios o crímenes deben ser de las más producidas y por supuesto que esto es debido a lo exitosa que pueden ser y es que en diferentes épocas siempre podemos ver a estas historias que nos brindan buenos personajes que con su inteligencia y perspicacia pueden llegar hasta el final de una investigación y hacer que la verdad sea revelada; este tipo de series son las que me gusta de ver porque no existe la necesidad de crear a ese personaje como una estrella de acción para hacer justicia, solamente usan como base el intelecto que debe tener y de ahí podrán fortalecer su actitud y confianza lo cual es otra característica importante para el o los protagonistas. En mi vida he disfrutado de muchas de estas series y todavía lo hago al ver alguna que otra repetición de episodios, pero siempre estoy a la expectativa de sí en algún momento pueda ver nuevamente series que sientan que son homenajes a esos clásicos de la TV que generaron gran cantidad de seguidores; una de esas series es la creada por Rian Johnson el cual dirigió y escribió los dos films basados en el detective "Benoit Blanc" y que ahora para otro servicio de streaming como es Peacock, estrenó una serie llena de criminales, mentiras y una chica con un don especial.

In the history of television, the series in which one or more characters solve mysteries or crimes must be the most produced and of course this is due to how successful they can be and in different times we can always see these stories that give us good characters that with their intelligence and insight can get to the end of an investigation and make the truth is revealed; I like to watch this kind of series because there is no need to create that character as an action star to do justice, they only use as a base the intellect that he/she must have and from there they can strengthen their attitude and confidence which is another important characteristic for the protagonist(s). In my life I have enjoyed many of these series and I still do it when I watch some episode reruns, but I am always waiting to see if at some point I can watch again series that feel like tributes to those TV classics that generated a huge following; one of those series is the one created by Rian Johnson who directed and wrote the two films based on the detective "Benoit Blanc" and now for another streaming service like Peacock, he released a series full of criminals, lies and a girl with a special gift.
El pasado jueves se estrenó cuatro episodios de la serie llamada "Poker Face", una producción que entra en ese género detectivesco, "Murder Mistery" o simplemente "El Caso de la Semana"; en esa parte es la típica historia en dónde seguimos a uno o varios protagonistas usar su ingenio o don para resolver un crimen y justamente a respetar ese cliché en estos proyectos, es justamente lo que atrae a los muchos fans de este estilo de hacer shows televisivos, pero en mi opinión existe factores que pueden ser considerados diferentes y que hace que el resto sea sencillo y a la vez algo fantasioso, pero que no deja de ser divertido. Cómo en otras producciones que he visto últimamente, no había visto ningún trailer ni sinopsis de esta serie, así que haré algo breve para que descubran el formato de como se relata la historia de "Charlie Cale", una mujer con el don especial de saber cuándo alguien miente; ese don podrá darle satisfacción, pero también muchos problemas, pero eso no evitará que Charlie siempre esté del lado de la verdad sin importar que tan peligrosa sea la situación que deba enfrentar.
Last Thursday was released four episodes of the series called "Poker Face", a production that falls into that detective genre, "Murder Mystery" or simply "The Case of the Week"; in that part is the typical story where we follow one or more protagonists use their wit or gift to solve a crime and just to respect that cliché in these projects, is precisely what attracts many fans of this style of making television shows, but in my opinion there are factors that can be considered different and that makes the rest is simple and at the same time somewhat fanciful, but still fun. As in other productions I have seen lately, I had not seen any trailer or synopsis of this series, so I will do something brief for you to discover the format of how the story of "Charlie Cale" is told, a woman with the special gift of knowing when someone is lying; that gift can give her satisfaction, but also many problems, but that will not prevent Charlie from always being on the side of the truth no matter how dangerous the situation she must face.
Esta serie es creada por Rian Johnson el cual todos sabemos que sus últimas dos producciones cinematográficas entran en el género de misterio, resolución de un asesinato y en dónde la comedia es un importante ingrediente; mi opinión de que aparte de esas dos películas (y futura tercera) decidió crear esta serie para no perder esa idea de muchas historias que quiere contar y por eso es mejor realizarlas en este formato. Enfocándome en estos cuatro episodios estrenados, Johnson se encarga de los dos primeros los cuales hace un trabajo formidable aunque sigo pensando que muestra mucha influencia en otros directores como Wes Anderson; eso no es malo porque crea escenas muy divertidas; los demás directores, como son Iain B. MacDonald y Tiffany Johnson, hacen un buen trabajo, en realidad Macdonald en el tercer episodio hace un excelente trabajo; es mi episodio favorito por parte de la dirección, es muy bueno; con esto no digo que Johnson no muestre un buen desempeño porque en realidad, es un trabajo correcto en dónde la edición es la mejor de los cuatro episodios; en realidad está serie en los episodios estrenados pone el umbral alto para los otros episodios restantes.
This series is created by Rian Johnson who we all know that his last two film productions fall into the genre of mystery, solving a murder and where comedy is an important ingredient; my opinion that apart from those two films (and future third) he decided to create this series to not lose that idea of many stories he wants to tell and that is why it is better to make them in this format. Focusing on these four released episodes, Johnson is in charge of the first two which he does a formidable job although I still think he shows a lot of influence in other directors like Wes Anderson; that's not bad because he creates very funny scenes; the other directors, such as Iain B. MacDonald and Tiffany Johnson, do a good job, actually Macdonald in the third episode does an excellent job; it is my favorite episode by the direction, it is very good; with this I am not saying that Johnson does not show a good performance because actually, it is a correct work where the edition is the best of the four episodes; actually this series in the released episodes sets the high threshold for the other remaining episodes.
Como dije anteriormente, las series de este tipo necesitan tener un personaje que sea el foco de la historia, bueno como toda producción en realidad, pero quiero decir que si observamos series clásicas y hasta nuevas dentro de este género, siempre existe ese personaje que tiene una frase o marca que acompaña a la gran actitud e inteligencia que presenta un protagonista; justamente en esta serie el personaje de "Charlie" tiene eso y eso es gracias a la actuación de Natasha Lyonne; me gusta Natasha, creo que tiene la actitud para representar a esa persona que no posee ningún filtro y dice lo que piensa y justamente eso la hace perfecta para esta serie; me parece genial como fue creada este personaje y pienso que Johnson pensó siempre en esta actriz para que lidere está producción, ya que sabe representar a una mujer independiente, valiente, decidida que primeramente está feliz con su vida, pero justamente al no querer mirar hacia otro lado cuando se comete una injusticia es lo que traerá problemas, eso la hace ser un buen personaje. Posiblemente, mi crítica sea el parecido de "Charlie" a "Nadia" de la serie de Netflix "Russian Doll", la cual también está protagonizada por Natasha, ambas mujeres tienen la misma característica y solo la diferencia su color de cabello; ahora eso no me causa problemas porque me gusta esa forma de actuar y tal vez deba ver otros trabajos de esta actriz para saber si puede interpretar a un personaje de manera diferente o siempre le escriben personajes de ese tipo; el asunto es que su trabajo en esta oportunidad es excelente, es divertido y así como dije, es perfecto para esta historia.
As I said before, the series of this type need to have a character that is the focus of the story, well like any production really, but I mean that if we look at classic series and even new within this genre, there is always that character that has a phrase or mark that accompanies the great attitude and intelligence that presents a protagonist; just in this series the character of "Charlie" has that and that is thanks to the performance of Natasha Lyonne; I like Natasha, I think she has the attitude to represent that person who has no filter and says what she thinks and just that makes her perfect for this series; I think it's great how this character was created and I think that Johnson always thought of this actress to lead this production, because she knows how to represent an independent, brave, determined woman who first of all is happy with her life, but just not wanting to look the other way when an injustice is committed is what will bring problems, that makes her a good character. Possibly, my criticism is the resemblance of "Charlie" to "Nadia" from the Netflix series "Russian Doll", which also stars Natasha, both women have the same characteristic and the only difference is their hair color; now that does not cause me problems because I like that way of acting and maybe I should see other works of this actress to know if she can play a character in a different way or she is always written characters of that type; the thing is that her work in this opportunity is excellent, is fun and as I said, is perfect for this story.
Hay algo que me gustó mucho de estos cuatro episodios de Poker Face y es que se nota la influencia de muchas otras series que le dieron fama a ese formato, por ejemplo "The Fugitive" (1963), "The Incredible Hulk" (1978), "Murder, She Wrote" (1984) y "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" (1969), esta serie posiblemente no tanto, pero es que en mi opinión está nueva serie de Peacock tiene un gran parecido a todas las otras series nombradas; todos tienen algo especial y es que un personaje sea bienvenido o no ayudarán a resolver un crimen o un misterio, todos son inteligentes, las historias son divertidas y todos tienen una marca especial; todas esas características las veo en esta serie y eso me conecto inmediatamente. Por los momentos se han estrenado solo cuatro episodios, lo cuales les recomiendo ver y les recuerdo que faltan seis por estrenar y ojalá tengan una gran aceptación para seguir viendo en próximas temporadas a Charlie descubrir la verdad y justicia de una manera muy divertida.
There is something that I really liked about these four episodes of Poker Face and is that you can see the influence of many other series that gave fame to this format, for example "The Fugitive" (1963), "The Incredible Hulk" (1978), "Murder, She Wrote" (1984) and "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! "(1969), this series possibly not so much, but in my opinion this new Peacock series has a great resemblance to all the other series named; they all have something special and that is that a character is welcome or not to help solve a crime or a mystery, all are smart, the stories are fun and all have a special mark; all these characteristics I see in this series and that connects me immediately. At the moment only four episodes have been released, which I recommend you to watch and I remind you that there are six episodes left to be released and hopefully they will have a great acceptance to continue watching Charlie discover the truth and justice in a very funny way in the next seasons.
