The film was made in 1992 to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Japan. The refreshed version appeared in 2022 due to the 70th anniversary, and will now be released in cinemas. Nippon Ramayana Film Co. is responsible for the production, sponsored by TEM Co., Ltd. Anime.
