I really like two of Jeremy Saulnier's previous films. The first one I saw by this director was Blue Ruin. A powerful revenge thriller. It made a very good impression on me and I think the film ended up being a critical success and nominated for some major independent film awards. He was a filmmaker to watch.

Another film he excelled with was Green Room, starring the young actor Anton Yelchin, who sadly left this world too soon. The one I haven't seen is Hold the Dark. I still have to look for it. But those other two films were enough to draw my attention to his latest production, Rebel Ridge.

The presence of actor Don Johnson also influenced my decision to see the film. The trailer already shows him as the villain. He is an actor that older people will remember from the series Miami Vice and the younger ones for being Dakota Johnson's father.

I saw it about three weeks ago, but just as I have a list of films to see, I also have a long list of films I want to recommend.

Me gustan mucho dos de las películas anteriores de Jeremy Saulnier. La primera que vi de este director fue Blue Ruin. Un poderoso thriller de venganza. Me causó muy buena impresión y creo que la película acabó siendo un éxito de crítica y nominada a algunos premios importantes del cine independiente. Era un cineasta a tener en cuenta.

Otra película con la que destacó fue Green Room, protagonizada por el joven actor Anton Yelchin, que lamentablemente dejó este mundo demasiado pronto. La que no he visto es Hold the Dark. Aún tengo que buscarla. Pero esas otras dos películas me bastaron para llamar mi atención sobre su última producción, Rebel Ridge.

La presencia del actor Don Johnson también influyó en mi decisión de ver la película. El tráiler ya lo muestra como el villano. Es un actor que los mayores recordarán por la serie Corrupción en Miami y los más jóvenes por ser el padre de Dakota Johnson.

La vi hace unas tres semanas, pero igual que tengo una lista de películas por ver, también tengo una larga lista de películas que quiero recomendar.

It is distributed by Netflix, so you know where to look for it. The initial plot of the film is good. He is a filmmaker who has a talent for creating tension. We feel the rage and helplessness of the protagonist, in the face of the terrible events that occur at the beginning. We feel it and immediately take his side.

There is action and death. Even small plot twists that achieve their goal of making us more interested in the story. That duel between the hero and the villain. Between the African-American and the white. There is a lot of tension and racism between the lines. Injustice and police corruption when a small town is dominated by law enforcement, specifically by that cowboy cop.

It's not the director's best film, but it's entertaining. I think he makes a big mistake. There comes a point in the story where it should end and it cuts off. It's a small lapse in the script, but it's rewarded with the last part where the shooting and adrenaline are all over the place. It's the only detail I didn't like in the film.

Aaron Pierre fulfils his role as the hero and protagonist of the story. I have seen very little of this actor, so for me it was a good surprise. Now I'm looking forward to seeing him in the next series about Martin Luther King JR and Malcolm X. Keep an eye out for this actor.

Don Johnson is the typical powerful, cold-blooded villain. Corrupt and ruthless. A perfect role for him. He's not in demand at the moment, but those of us who saw Miami Vice will always enjoy seeing him on screen.

It's a good one to watch this weekend. Look for it on Netflix and leave me a comment.

La distribuye Netflix, así que ya sabes dónde buscarla. La trama inicial de la película es buena. Es un cineasta que tiene talento para crear tensión. Sentimos la rabia y la impotencia del protagonista, ante los terribles sucesos que ocurren al principio. Lo sentimos e inmediatamente nos ponemos de su lado.

Hay acción y muerte. Incluso pequeños giros argumentales que consiguen su objetivo de interesarnos más por la historia. Ese duelo entre el héroe y el villano. Entre el afroamericano y el blanco. Hay mucha tensión y racismo entre líneas. La injusticia y la corrupción policial cuando una pequeña ciudad está dominada por las fuerzas del orden, concretamente por ese policía vaquero.

No es la mejor película del director, pero es entretenida. Creo que comete un gran error. Llega un momento en la historia en el que debería acabar y se corta. Es un pequeño lapsus en el guión, pero se ve recompensado con la última parte donde los disparos y la adrenalina llegan por todos lados. Es el único detalle que no me ha gustado de la película.

Aaron Pierre cumple con su papel de héroe y protagonista de la historia. He visto muy poco a este actor, así que para mí ha sido una buena sorpresa. Ahora estoy deseando verle en la próxima serie sobre Martin Luther King JR y Malcom X. Habrá que estar atentos a este actor.

Don Johnson es el típico villano poderoso y de sangre fría. Corrupto y despiadado. Un papel perfecto para él. Actualmente no está muy solicitado, pero a los que vimos Corrupción en Miami siempre nos gustará verle en pantalla.

Es una buena opción para ver este fin de semana. Búscala en Netflix y déjame un comentario.
