    Relying on a non-linear montage and chapters in the purest Tarantino style, Strange Darling is based on the interpretative duels between Kyle Gallner and Willa Fitzgerald;

    He was a ruthless hunter, she was an innocent victim, though as the episodes progress, we get a better understanding of each person's behavior, revealing things that show that no one is as innocent or evil as they seem, and what leads them to the whirlwind of violence that will erupt when the cake is smashed.

    Kyle Gallner, a typical actor who always delivers in every role he is cast in, plays a psychopath who constantly stalks his victims, with a truly deranged appearance reminiscent of Patrick Bateman in American Psycho and a sometimes calm and complacent demeanor, with contrasting attitudes.

    The complacent behavior of his co-star, that was the biggest surprise of the film.

    Willa Fitzgerald certainly delivers the best performance of her career, playing a rather complex and multifaceted character in which she eventually runs the risk of falling into exaggeration (almost in some moments), but ends up surprising the viewers with one of the most successful performances of the species in the time .

    If the film achieves greater international recognition, it could be a good springboard for him to be offered other roles in addition to the ones he has played so far.

    Admittedly, although the opening is strong and disorienting thanks to some good cinematography by actor Giovanni Ribisi, there are some tenuous passages afterwards, as the pace changes drastically between scenes and the dialogues are not as transcendent as the director intended despite playing it that way. way. lots of double meanings and a bit of black humor.

    We also can't ignore some questionable decisions and behaviors of the main and supporting characters that partially ruined a story that had the potential to become a modern classic.
