Suburbicon is a 2017 American black comedy crime film directed by George Clooney and co-written by the Coen brothers, Clooney, and Grant Heslov. Suburbicon generated a lot of expectation in me, supposedly written by the Coen brothers, directed by Clooney and starring Julianne Moore and Matt Damon, it had to be something great, however, all that experience and all that talent was useless. The movie was a disappointment, with very few truly good things. > > Source Year: 2017 Category: Black Comedy. Director: George Clooney. Cast: Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, No…More

A serious actor was seen much later in it - and the Coen brothers helped in this, even though they shot Clooney exclusively in comic roles: paradoxically, this actor earned his reputation as a clever filmmaker, playing round idiots in "O Brother, Where Art Thou?", "Intolerable Cru…More

The Coen Brothers worked with Clooney on this movie, a meditation on herd mentality and greed set in the 1950s. The dialogue isn't up to the standards of the Coen brothers great work, but the symbolism is quite sharp and overall plot well executed. The theme strips bare our prejudices reflecting our current hysteria with Islamophobia. It also exposes that the equality we give lip service to is an impossibility withi…More

Suburbicon is a new attempt by Hollywood to offer the audience something fun and at the same time something that will force them to think. It's undoubtedly that we need more and more every day, but this is served to us daily. The flirt of film and everyday life is as old as the film itself, and many directors devise creative and incredible ways in which, as individuals burdened with life's concerns, they will highli…More
Suburbicon is the latest Coen Brothers joint to drop. Directed by George Clooney, the film attempts to expose white bread hypocrisy in a poorly executed film set in what appears to be 1950s suburbia. Had the script focused more on the story and less on abrasive over-the-top stereotypes, the film would have been much crisper. Instead, Suburbicon feels like the aborted love-child of Fargo and The Ladykillers . Suburbi…More
