   I've been into horror and thriller movies lately. Apart from the ones I've already watched, there are others I've added to my watch list and I'll watch them all in order as I find time. Actually, I'm aware that watching the same genre movies in a row will create a disadvantage in terms of viewing pleasure, but I don't care about that because my mood at that moment is effective in choosing the genre I want to watch and I enjoy the movies that are successfully made in the genre I want to watch more.

   After 10 years as a youtuber, brothers Danny and Michael Philippou directed their first feature film, Talk to Me, and I was very interested after the preview. Made in #Australia, the movie perfectly handles the theme of horror through a mummified and unknown hand.

   In the scenes where a group of young people show courage in order to explore their sense of curiosity and fulfillment, it is possible to smell the fear and predict the chaos that the next step will create. I liked the fear and the tension created through fear, a simple subject is diversified quite successfully with the added details. While it is possible to feel the fear and tension while watching the movie, it is also possible to see the efforts of the characters who drag each other into mistakes, which makes the story flow.

   Letting someone from the spirit world, with whom it is thought to be in contact, use your body for a while and believing that if you stay in your body after 90 seconds, you will belong to him, adds a lot of tension to the movie. The fluidity of the story is successfully ensured by the characters egging each other on to show courage and the plot that spirals out of control immediately afterwards. For the viewer, the pleasure of watching continues to increase.

   The horror created by a severed hand, which is used as the main element at the beginning of the story, gives way to the tension created by events that get out of control as the story progresses. Up to this point, I would definitely use the word “excellent” for the movie, but at the end of the movie, when the reason for the declining horror and suspense turns into a character's family showdown, the momentum of the story and the pleasure of watching the movie decreases.

   The movie deserves a better ending. I wish the family showdown of a single character had not been included at the end of the film or the showdown had been presented in color from the very beginning of the story. Another detail I can say about the movie Talk to Me is that it can break down the prejudice that exists in some professional groups against those who create content and earn money on the internet. Of course, this has more to do with the directors than the movie and in this sense I appreciate the efforts of brothers Danny and Michael Philippou.

   For those who love the horror genre, I recommend watching Talk to Me as the movie successfully blends horror and suspense. Also, the movie has the feel of a teen movie in some aspects and the story flowed well. I think you will enjoy it more if you can overlook the odd mistakes and some gaps at the end of the story.

   Confío poco en el género de terror, si bien hay muchos buenos títulos, la gran mayoría son regulares para abajo, con presupuestos bajos y resultados mediocres. Sin embargo, de vez en cuando salen buenos títulos, inclusive algunos que tratan de dar un paso más, añadiendo cosas nuevas al género, como pienso, hace este título. Película que viene de Australia, estrenada el 2022, siendo sus directores Danny y Michael Philippou.

   I have little confidence in the horror genre, although there are many good titles, the vast majority of them are regular to below average, with low budgets and mediocre results. However, every now and then good titles come out, including some that try to go a step further, adding new things to the genre, as I think, does this title. Film coming from Australia, released in 2022, being its directors Danny and Michael Philippou.

   Sinopsis: Mia, con sus amigos Jade y Riley, deciden ir a una reunión con unos amigos que trae un reto. Una mano realista, que tras tocarla y decir unas frases puedes ser poseído por un espíritu muerto. Esos retos de miedo traerán malas consecuencias para la vida de Mia y sus amigos.

   Synopsis: Mia, with her friends Jade and Riley, decide to go to a meeting with some friends that brings a challenge. A realistic hand, that after touching it and saying a few sentences you can be possessed by a dead spirit.    La protagonista de la historia es Mia, debido a que estos encuentros con espíritus del más allá, la pondrá en contacto con su fallecida madre, pero a su vez con terribles consecuencias. La trama mezcla terror, problemáticas adolescentes, misterio y un poco de comedia.

   The protagonist of the story is Mia, because these encounters with spirits from beyond, will put her in contact with her deceased mother, but in turn with terrible consequences. The plot mixes horror, teenage problems, mystery and a bit of comedy.

   Lo mejor de esta película, es que más allá de las escenas de miedo, tiene una historia interesante que contar, y que hace que el espectador trate de dilucidar, con las pequeñas pistas que te da la historia, al punto que en mi caso, la historia detrás de Mia y de la mano, acaparó mi atención. En el terror, si bien creo hay un buen trabajo, en mi caso ya poco afecta; por otro lado, lo peor de la trama, es ver a personajes tomar acciones demasiado raras o obviamente equivocadas.

   The best thing about this film, is that beyond the scary scenes, it has an interesting story to tell, and that makes the viewer try to elucidate, with the little clues that the story gives you, to the point that in my case, the story behind Mia and the hand, grabbed my attention. In the horror, although I think there is a good job, in my case it has little effect; on the other hand, the worst part of the plot is to see characters taking actions that are too weird or obviously wrong.

   A pesar del bajo presupuesto, hay buen trabajo en la fotografía y en crear un buen entorno para las escenas de terror. La edición es buena, ya que hay bastantes saltos entre la realidad y cuando un personaje está poseído, generando un buen dinamismo. No destaca la música, otro punto que podría mejorar en la ya confirmada 2da parte. La actuación es buena, a pesar de la juventud del cast.

   Despite the low budget, there is good work in the photography and in creating a good environment for the horror scenes. The editing is good, as there are many jumps between reality and when a character is possessed, generating a good dynamism. The music is not outstanding, another point that could be improved in the already confirmed 2nd part. The acting is good, despite the youth of the cast.

   No me queda duda que esta película inspirara títulos parecidos, ya sea por saber crear un misterio interesante, y el mezclar bien las problemáticas adolescentes. Recomendable si te gusta el terror.

   I have no doubt that this film will inspire similar titles, either by knowing how to create an interesting mystery, and mixing well the teenage problems. Recommended if you like horror.

   This is one of those movies that I wanted to see from the first moment I knew of its existence, but then I didn't want to see it because I had the curse of having very high expectations and I was afraid that I would be disappointed, because it's not that I was afraid. After all, it was scary, scary movies are my safe zone and help me to be happy, although I also saw this movie one night when I was dying of fever, so my contact with reality was very compromised.

   Talk to Me is an excellent movie about teenagers being teenagers, as we are given a whole range of personalities that while we don't get to identify with, we can know that they are as realistic as possible. A group of teenagers have in their possession an embalmed hand that allows them to summon spirits and let them possess their body for a certain amount of seconds, but during one opportunity the time is exceeded, dangerous things begin to happen, and everyone's mental health is at risk, leading people to do dangerous things, led by the hand of ghosts.

   

   Esta es una de esas películas que quería ver desde el primer momento en el que supe de su existencia, pero después no quería verla porque me tocó la maldición de tener las expectativas muy alta y me daba miedo de que me decepcionara, porque no es que tuviera miedo porque fuera de miedo, las películas de miedo son mi zona segura y me ayudan a estar feliz, aunque también vi esta película una noche en la que estuve muriendo de fiebre, así que tenía muy comprometido mi contacto con la realidad.

   Talk to Me es una excelente película de adolescentes siendo adolescentes, pues nos dan toda una gama de personalidades con las que si bien no logramos llegar a identificarnos, podemos saber que son lo más realistas posibles. Un grupo de adolescentes tiene en su poder una mano embalsamada que les permite invocar espíritus y dejarlos poseer su cuerpo por cierta cantidad de segundos, pero durante una oportunidad el tiempo se excede, comienzan a suceder cosas peligrosas, y la salud mental de todo el mundo está riesgo, llevando a la gente a hacer cosas peligrosas, llevados de la mano por fantasmas.

   

   I was not scared watching it, but the tension that comes to be in the film is unbearable, plus, I saw the movie while I had a fever, and I was more sensitive than usual, so I had to be constantly doing relaxation exercises so that neither the fever nor the movie would affect me so much. Yes, it did affect me more than I expected, not because it was very horror, but because the movie has many feelings involved, and many things happen that affect anyone who sees it.

   It made me cry, which was not good for me while I had a fever, so I cried for a very short time, but it got to a point where the feeling of despair and worry I had became unbearable, so all I could do was cry, I let out a few tears, my fever got a little worse, the movie only got more intense, which made me send my sanity to hell, but then I realized that the movie was about to end and I suffered for that because it was too short.

   

   No me asusté viéndola, pero la tensión que llega a haber en la película es insoportable, además, vi la película mientras tenía fiebre, estaba más sensible de lo normal, así que tenía que estar constantemente haciendo ejercicios de relajación para que ni la fiebre ni la película llegaran a afectarme tanto. Porque sí, me llegó a afectar más de lo que esperaba, y no porque fuera muy de terror, si no porque la película tiene muchos sentimientos implicados y suceden muchas cosas que afectan a cualquier que la vea.

   Me hizo llorar, cosa que no fue nada bueno para mí mientras tenía fiebre, así que lloré por muy poco tiempo, pero llegó un punto en que sí se hizo insoportable el sentimiento de desesperación y preocupación que tenía, así que lo único que pude hacer fue llorar, solté una cuantas lágrimas, me mepeoró un poco la fiebre, la película solo se puso más intensa, lo que me hizo mandar al carajo mi sanidad, pero entonces mi di cuenta de que la película estaba por terminar y sufrí por eso, porque se me hzio demasiado corta.

   

   Something I never expected and loved too much was to find a transmasculine non-binary actor in this film, Zoe Terakes, I loved him too much, even though the character was unbearable, because he was the perfect representation of that kind of person who pushes others to do something, and when things go wrong, they don't want to take the blame for anything. How I hated those characters, the worst kind of people out there, and they are very well done here.

   . Still, the story in general is very well done, because it's not only a story with horror elements, but as I said, it has a lot of emotional elements that they used very well. We already know that Mia lost her mother and during those days is the anniversary of her death, so she just wants to forget everything, because she accepts it using the embalmed hand, that everything ends in a very bad way is another thing, but it is the perfect example of how we can use anything to stop having worries, in this case it was an embalmed hand that invokes spirits, in a normal case it would be the use of drugs, which is not very normal to say. Still, it would be our reality, not that of a horror movie.

   

   Algo que nunca esperé y que me encantó demasiado fue encontrar en esta eplícula a un actor no binario transmasculino, Zoe Terakes, y le amé demasiado, aunque el personaje era insoportable, porque era la representación perfecta de ese tipo de persona que presiona a las demás para hacer algo, y cuando las cosas salen mal, no quieren aceptar la culpa de nada. Cómo odié a esos personajes, el peor tipo de personas que existen, y están muy bien hechos aquí.

   La historia en general está muy bien hecha, porque no solo es una historia con elementos de terror, pues como dije, tiene muchos elementos emocionales que usaron muy bien. Ya sabemos que Mia perdió a su madre y durante esos días es el aniversario de su muerte, así que ella solo quiere olvidarse de todo, porque lo acepta usar la mano embalsamada, que todo termina de muy mala forma es otra cosa, pero es el ejemplo perfecto de cómo podemos llegar a usar ccualquier cosa para dejar de tener preocupaciones, en este caso fue una mano embalsamada que invoca espíritus, en un caso normal sería el uso de drogas, que no es muy normal que digamos, pero sería nuestra realidad, no la de una película de terror.

   

   I had already seen the trailer, but seeing it after the movie made me appreciate it more because they could have told everything in the trailer, but they didn't, and that makes me love it, because I hate when trailers tell the whole story without leaving anything to the viewer, and here they did it perfect, everything that happens, everything that impresses, everything horrible and heartbreaking is left out of the trailer, perfect for it to surprise and impress more during the movie.

   More than a horror movie, I felt it was a movie that deals with mourning the loss of a family member, the idiotic decisions made while being a teenager, and how all that affects all the people around us, but it does have a lot of horror, it just doesn't affect me much anymore, I see things from very different points of view than the one they are usually seen from. It's very well done, I wish it was longer, and I love it, I love it very much, and here I think about it, they never answered a question they asked us, and I don't know if I'm happy or frustrated.

   

   Ya había visto el trailer, pero verlo después de la película hace que lo aprecie más, porque pudieron haber contado todo en el trailer, pero no lo hicieron, y eso hace que me encante, porque odio cuando los trailer cuentan toda la historia sin dejar nada al espectador, y aquí lo hicieron perfecto, todo lo que sucede, todo lo que impresiona, todo lo horrible y desgarrador queda fuera del trailer, perfecto para que sorprenda e impresione más durante la película.

   Más que una película de terror, la sentí como una película que trata el duelo por la pérdida de un familiar, las decisiones idiotas que se cometen mientras se es adolescente, y cómo todo eso afecta a todas las personas a nuestro alrededor, pero sí tiene mucho terror, solo que ya no me afecta mucho, yo veo las cosas desde puntos de vista muy diferentes al que se suelen ver. Está muy bien hecha, ojalá fuera más larga, y la amo, la amo mucho, y aquí pensándolo bien, nunca nos llegaron a responder una pregunta que hicieron, y no sé si me alegra o me frustra eso.

   There is a very famous saying that warns us about how dangerous curiosity can be; sometimes, out of curiosity, we expose ourselves to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

   Talk to Me is an Australian horror film that follows the story of a group of young people, who begin using a strange embalmed hand to summon spirits of the deceased and allow them to possess their bodies for a few seconds. When one of the sessions goes wrong, they are forced to find a way to close the portal they have accidentally left open to avoid a tragedy.

   Horror films have reigned on my screen throughout 2023, although I still continue to visit other genres, practically 90% of what I have seen belongs to the horror genre. So as you can imagine, I have come across both horrible productions, and films that surprised me because of how good they turned out to be. Such is the case of Talk to me, which I came to because of the good reviews I had seen about it, besides being on practically every list of the best horror movies of the year. While, as usual, I didn't read anything about its plot, having that precedent made me have slightly high expectations about it and I must say that, although it's not perfect, I can say that without a doubt it's one of the best horror movies I've seen this year.

   In it, we are introduced to a group of teenagers, who get into a really stupid situation, simply for the fact of seeking to experience different sensations, which is something I think we can all identify with. The case of the kids in this film is no different, if we add to that the existence of social networks, in which in a second your reputation can go down the drain in an instant, things get complicated. The desire to be popular, the fear of ridicule and the desire to live different experiences have always existed in adolescence, however, the existence of social networks can enhance these two things to the extent of pushing kids to make the worst possible decisions, as happens in Talk to me.

   

   The film immerses us in a completely terrifying atmosphere as we watch the young people being willingly possessed by the spirits of the dead who came to their call. Each deceased has a terrifying appearance, created with wonderful makeup work, which I thought was fantastic; I feel that there is a lot of abuse of computerized effects lately and many times, especially in the horror genre, practical effects are more effective. This is especially true when you don't have a big budget to make the CGI look as real as possible, and we end up seeing a monster that, instead of being scary, makes you laugh. Luckily, the production knew how to work very well with the elements they had and managed to build an environment that, despite being simple, both visually and musically, is extremely effective in provoking tension and terror.

   The premise was one of the things I liked the most, I found original the fact that an embalmed hand allows contact with the dead to the point of propitiating a voluntary and "controlled" possession. Although, it was too obvious that everything would get out of control, watching them go all the way to the point where everything starts to get complicated is great and full of tension. When something finally happens that puts them in danger, it starts a spiral of horrible and terrifying events for some characters, which make the tension rise even more. I must admit that I even turned my eyes away from the screen to relax a bit, as I was completely enveloped by the terrifying atmosphere of the film.

   Another aspect that I found well worked was the problem that drives one of the characters to abuse the "power" of the hand, which is, basically (and without spoilers), not knowing how to deal with the death of a loved one. At this point, the film touches on the importance of mental health, empathy, trust, and support among friends and family, as well as presenting in an exaggerated but effective way the self-destructive attitudes that some people can take when they do not know how to deal with grief.

   

   Along with all these remarkable aspects are the performances of the cast, which despite being juvenile, lived up to the commitment and each member of the cast delivered sincere performances in keeping with the genre. For me, Sophie Wilde as Mia and Joe Bird in the role of Riley stand out, both characters, being the most affected by the contact with the spirits of the deceased, required intense body and emotional work and without a doubt both youngsters fully met the challenge. On the other hand, it was a pleasant surprise to find an actress as well known as Miranda Otto in the cast, although since she was in the project I would have liked to see her a little more screen time, even so her interventions were excellent.

   The denouement was, to a certain extent, surprising, while I knew that things couldn't turn out well for anyone after making so many reckless decisions, I had no idea what was in store for the characters, it was a raw ending, but to a certain extent understandable and justifiable. I liked that they didn't sugarcoat it and that everything happened as it was meant to happen for the characters, some fared better than others, however, I think everyone had consequences commensurate with their actions and that's something that's not so common, so I thought it was a pretty satisfying ending.

   Definitely, Talk to me surprised me, while I expected it to be good from the reviews I had read, I honestly never trust a horror movie too much, however, I ended up surprised and scared, something that lately is not being as frequent as it used to be, even though as I have always said, I scare easily. So, my friends, if you're looking to be entertained for a while with a bit of horror, undoubtedly give Talk to Me a chance.

   Hay un dicho muy famoso que nos advierte acerca de lo peligrosa que puede ser la curiosidad; a veces, por curiosidad, nos exponemos a estar en el lugar y en el momento equivocado.

   Talk to Me es una película australiana de terror que sigue la historia de un grupo de jóvenes, quienes comienzan a usar una extraña mano embalsamada para invocar espíritus de difuntos y permitirles poseer sus cuerpos durante unos segundos. Cuando una de las sesiones sale mal, se ven obligados a buscar la manera de cerrar el portal que accidentalmente han dejado abierto para evitar una tragedia.

   Las películas de terror han reinado en mi pantalla durante todo el 2023, aunque todavía sigo visitando otros géneros, prácticamente el 90% de lo que he visto pertenece al género del terror. Así que como se pueden imaginar, me he encontrado tanto con producciones horribles, como con filmes que me sorprendieron debido a lo bueno que resultaron ser. Tal es el caso de Talk to me, a la cual llegué por los buenos comentarios que había visto sobre ella, además de encontrarse en prácticamente todas las listas de las mejores películas de terror del año. Si bien, como es costumbre, no leí nada sobre su argumento, el tener ese precedente hizo que tuviera expectativas ligeramente altas sobre ella y debo decir que, aunque no es perfecta, puedo decir que sin lugar a dudas es una de las mejores películas de terror que he visto este año.

   En ella nos presentan a un grupo de adolescentes, quienes se meten en una situación realmente estúpida, simplemente por el hecho de buscar experimentar sensaciones diferentes, lo cual es algo con lo que creo que todos nos podemos sentir identificados. El caso de los chicos de esta película no es nada diferente, si a eso le agregamos la existencia de las redes sociales, en las cuales en un segundo tu reputación se puede ir al traste en un instante, la cosa se complica. El querer ser popular, el miedo al ridículo y las ganas de vivir experiencias diferentes siempre han existido dentro de la adolescencia, sin embargo, la existencia de las redes sociales pueden potenciar estas dos cosas al grado de empujar a los chicos a tomar las peores decisiones posibles, tal y como pasa en Talk to me.

   

   La película nos sumerge en una atmósfera completamente aterradora mientras vemos a los jóvenes, siendo poseídos voluntariamente, por los espíritus de los muertos que acudían a su llamado. Cada difunto tiene una apariencia aterradora, creada con un maravilloso trabajo de maquillaje, lo cual me pareció algo fantástico; siento que últimamente se está abusando mucho de los efectos computarizados y muchas veces, sobre todo, en el género del terror, los efectos prácticos son más efectivos. Esto es especialmente cierto cuando no se cuenta con un gran presupuesto como para hacer que el CGI parezca lo más real posible y terminamos viendo a un monstruo que, en lugar de dar miedo, da risa. Por suerte, la producción supo trabajar muy bien con los elementos que tenían y lograron construir un ambiente que, a pesar de ser sencillo, tanto visual como musicalmente, es sumamente efectivo al momento de provocar tensión y terror. 

   La premisa fue una de las cosas que más me gustó, me pareció original el hecho de que una mano embalsamada permita contactar con los muertos al grado de propiciar una posesión voluntaria y “controlada”. Aunque, era demasiado obvio que todo se les saldría de control, el verlos recorrer todo el camino hasta el punto en el que todo empieza a complicarse, es genial y está lleno de tensión. Cuando finalmente sucede algo que los pone en peligro, comienza un espiral de sucesos horribles y aterradores para algunos personajes, los cuales hacen que la tensión aumente aún más. Debo aceptar que incluso llegué a desviar la mirada de la pantalla, para relajarme un poco, ya que me vi envuelta por completo por la atmósfera terrorífica de la película.

   Otro aspecto que me pareció bien trabajado fue la problemática que orilla a uno de los personajes a abusar del "poder" de la mano, el cual es, básicamente (y sin spoilers), no saber lidiar con la muerte de un ser querido. En este punto, la película toca la importancia de la salud mental, de la empatía, de la confianza y del apoyo entre amigos y familiares, además de presentarnos de forma exagerada, pero efectiva, las actitudes autodestructivas que pueden tomar algunas personas al no saber lidiar con el duelo. 

   

   A la par de todos estos aspectos remarcables están las actuaciones del reparto, el cual a pesar de ser juvenil, estuvo a la altura del compromiso y cada miembro de este nos entregó actuaciones sinceras y acordes al género. Destacan para mí Sophie Wilde como Mia y Joe Bird en el papel de Riley, ambos personajes, al ser los más afectados por el contacto con los espíritus de los difuntos, requirieron un trabajo corporal y emocional intenso y sin duda ambos jóvenes cumplieron a cabalidad con el desafío. Por otra parte, fue una sorpresa agradable encontrarme a una actriz tan conocida como Miranda Otto dentro del reparto, aunque ya que se encontraba en el proyecto me hubiera gustado verla un poco más de tiempo en pantalla, aun así sus intervenciones fueron excelentes.

   El desenlace fue, hasta cierto punto, sorprendente, si bien sabía que las cosas no podían salir bien para nadie después de haber tomado tantas decisiones imprudentes, no tenía idea de lo que les esperaba a los personajes, fue un final crudo, pero hasta cierto punto entendible y justificable. Me gustó que no lo endulzaran y que todo pasara como debía pasar para los personajes, a algunos les fue mejor que a otros, sin embargo, creo que todos tuvieron consecuencias acordes a sus acciones y eso es algo que no es tan común, por lo que me pareció un final bastante satisfactorio.

   Definitivamente, Talk to me me sorprendió, si bien esperaba que fuera buena por los comentarios que había leído, sinceramente nunca me confío demasiado de una película de terror, sin embargo, terminé sorprendida y asustada, algo que últimamente no está siendo tan frecuente como solía ser, a pesar de que como siempre lo he dicho, yo me asusto fácilmente. Así que, amigos míos, si están buscando entretenerse un rato con un poco de terror, sin duda denle una oportunidad a Talk to me.

   Hello, people of the internet, everything ok? Today I want to review (briefly because there really isn't too much to say) this movie which has been quite famous and has been catalogued as very good. Personally I don't consider it a bad movie (in fact it has quite an interesting plot) but I don't consider it a gem of the genre either. Without further ado, let's begin

   Hola, gente de Internet ¿todo bien? Hoy quiero reseñar (brevemente porque la verdad no hay demasiado para decir) esta película la cual ha sido bastante famosa y se ha catalogado como muy buena. personalmente no considero que sea una mala película (de hecho tiene un argumento bastante interesante) pero tampoco la considero una joya del género. Sin más preámbulos comencemos.

   The first thing I have to say is that the cinematography is very good, not only in terms of staging and shots, but also in terms of filters, colouring and lighting. One of the things we are seeing lately in the genre is to go a bit outside the "rules of the genre" to make a difference and make a unique production (something we have already seen in classics and as I portrayed in my last review, with Children of the Corn) however, a "rule of the genre" would be a dull, opaque or neutral colour palette, a lot of shadows and a greyish filter for daylight. In this film we have a warm colour palette, a lot of lighting and an amber filter that is normally used for other genres, this film uses both of these resources correctly, however, it uses more of the "rules" that are improper to the genre and does it very well.

   Lo primero que tengo que decir es que su fotografía es muy buena, no solamente hablando de puesta en escena y planos, sino en filtro, coloración e iluminación. Una de las cosas que se está viendo últimamente en el género es salirse un poco de "las reglas propias del género" para digamos, marcar una diferencia y hacer una producción única (es algo que ya hemos visto en clásicos y como ya retraté en mi review pasada, con Los Niños del Maíz) sin embargo, una "regla propia" vendría a ser una paleta de colores deslucida, opaca o neutra, mucha presencia de sombras y filtro grisáceo para la luz del día. En esta película tenemos una paleta de colores cálida, mucha iluminación y un filtro ambarino que normalmente se utiliza para otros géneros, esta película emplea correctamente ambos recursos, sin embargo emplea más las "reglas" impropias del género y lo hace muy bien.

   For the scenes where the protagonist feels sad, for example, a greyish filter and a neutral colour palette are used (as when she remembers her mother's funeral), however, almost the entire film has a presence of warm colours, both in its filter and in its colour palette, even the candle used for the ritual is yellow (a quite bright colour). The curious thing about the colour yellow (we see it in the candle, in Mia's sweater and then in a shirt she is wearing) is that in film it can represent innocence and also obsession and madness, this is recognised depending on the context in which it is used, there are even directors who use it for both, such as its use in characters that seem innocent and end up being dangerous, or in films that appear to be family friendly and end up being twisted and dark. In the case of this film, I think it represents the mental and emotional decline of Mia throughout the film, when the colour is at its brightest is at the beginning of the first ritual where Mia opens the door to the accumulation of problems that will come later.

   Para las escenas dónde la protagonista se siente triste, por ejemplo, sí que se usa un filtro grisáceo y una paleta de colores neutra (como cuando recuerda el funeral de su madre) sin embargo, casi la totalidad de la película tiene una presencia de colores cálidos tanto en su filtro como en su paleta de colores, incluso la vela que usan para el ritual es amarilla (un color bastante brillante).    This film does not abuse shadows, so even in "dark" scenes you can understand everything that is going on without the handling of the horror being broken or damaged in any way.

   Esta película no abusa de las sombras, por lo qué, aun en escenas ""obscuras" puede entenderse perfectamente todo lo que está pasando sin que el manejo del terror se rompa o dañe de alguna manera.

   Talking about the handling of terror, it's very good, I've seen better but not bad. I have to highlight as my favourite scene the one where Mia sees a "spirit" sucking Dany's foot and the reality is that it's Mia herself being possessed.

   Hablando del manejo del terror, está muy bueno, he visto mejores pero no están mal. Debo recalcar como mi escena preferida esa en la que Mia ve a un "espíritu" chupando el pie de Dany y la realidad es que quien lo hace es ella misma estando poseída.

   Mia is a stereotypical character, the typical American teenager who hates her father and prefers to be with her friends and hates her father for no reason at all. She is tremendously irresponsible and that makes the viewer feel no empathy for her because she is also a victimizer, she is an extremely hateful character.

   Las actuaciones no estuvieron mal pero tampoco fueron destacables, y si hablamos de los personajes son bastante planos y olvidables. Mia es un personaje estereotipado a más no poder, la típica adolescente estadounidense que odia al padre y prefiere estar con los amigos, y de paso odia al padre sin razón. Es tremendamente irresponsable y eso hace que el espectador no sienta empatía por ella porque además es victimista, de verdad es un personaje extremadamente odioso.

   To conclude, the ending of the film was quite surprising and would have been very, very good if the explanation had been directly on camera and not open to guesswork. (IN THIS PARAGRAPH THERE WILL BE A SPOILER) If we analyse the car crash scene, it is clear that Raily is fine as he is seen sitting in the wheelchair in a couple of seconds, but whether Mia jumped into the road of her own accord, or whether she was pushed by Jade in an attempt to get her away from her brother's wheelchair, is a mystery. If it was Mia's sacrifice to save Raily, it should have been made clear to us (it probably wasn't shown at the time of that scene but in retrospect) however I do have to say that literally the final scene where the lights go out and there is a candle burning and a hand coming out of the darkness was a very good ending and a very good device, the only problem is that they made the preamble of this part so long that they took away the surprise and made it predictable, that is, it is not something that we thought would happen from the beginning, development or climax of the film, but from the scene in the hospital, it was a huge flaw that took away the specialness of the final scene of the film.

   Para concluir, el final de la película fue bastante sorpresivo y hubiese sido muy muy bueno si directamente la explicación hubiese aparecido en cámara y no esté abierto a las suposiciones. (EN ESTE PARRAFO HABRÁ UN SPOILER) si analizamos la escena del arrollamiento, nos queda claro que Raily está bien dado a que se ve sentado en la silla de ruedas en un par de segundos, ahora bien, si Mia saltó por decisión propia a la carretera, o si la empujó Jade en un arrebato por alejarla de la silla de ruedas de su hermano, es todo un misterio. Si fue un sacrifico de Mia para salvar a Raily, ha debido quedarnos claro (es probable que no se mostrara en el momento de esa escena pero si en retrospectiva) sin embargo sí debo decir que literalmente la escena final, donde las luces se apagan y hay una vela encendida además de una mano que sale de la oscuridad fue un muy buen final y un muy buen recurso, el único problema es que alargaron tanto el preámbulo de esta parte que le quitaron la sorpresa y lo hicieron predecible, es decir, no es algo que pensamos que pasaría desde el inicio, desarrollo o clímax de la película, pero sí desde la escena en el hospital, fue un fallo enorme que le quitó lo especial a la escena final del film.

   I’ve been a big fan of horror movies since I was a kid. Everything about horror movies is spectacular- the suspense, intense music, scares, and complicated and twisted storylines. Horror movies come with a different kind of vibe- you feel scared, yet excited. Like I said above, I’ve been a big fan of horror movies since I was a kid. I really do not know if it is bad to expose kids to horror movies, but in my case, watching horror movies at a tender age did not affect me at all. It only contributed to my imagination- which I think is a pretty good thing.

   I remember how my cousin and I used to watch horror movies every night. She was a big fan of horror movies and she had lots of them on her laptop. She was my favorite cousin, and by spending lots of time with her, she introduced me to the game and I fell deeply in love with it. I was in elementary school at that time. The earliest horror movie in my memory is Mama- directed by Andrès Muschiertti and published on January 18, 2013.

   Sometimes, school can be demanding. The importance of priorities cannot be overstated. Sometimes, we have to prioritize our time and energy over the things we live. I had to take a break from watching horror movies because school took over my time. However, I always dive back into watching horror movies during my free time. Yesterday, one of my friends told me about a horror movie- Talk To Me. I’ve been seeing updates and reviews about this movie on different social media platforms. While some of my friends say this movie is overhyped, others claim that it is worth the hype. Sometimes, when movies are overhyped, they turn out to not be interesting. Finally, after lots of persuasion from my friend, I decided to watch the movie, Talk To Me.

   PLOT SUMMARY Source

   Talk To Me, a horror movie, revolves around a group of teenagers who discover how to summon souls/spirits with a ceramic hand. The movie’s main character is Mia- Sophie Wilde, who lost her mother to suicide. The movie starts on the day of her mother’s remembrance. To make herself feel better and forget about her mother’s death, she goes to her best friend, Jade. The two friends watch a video of some of their friends online summoning spirits with a ceramic hand. Eager to find out whether it is true or not, Mia, Jade, and Riley (Jade’s brother) go to the party to find out for themselves.

   At first, the party is boring, but things get heated up when the guy in charge of the hand brings it out. Mia offers to be the first person to try it out. They explained the rules of the game: to summon the spirit, say “talk to me,” and to further allow the spirit to take control, say “I let you in.” However, there’s a rule: you must not spend more than 90 seconds, or else, the spirits take control permanently. Also, you must not die, or else, your soul gets trapped forever. Mia tries the “magic” out and confirms that it is indeed real.

   At the second party, the group tries the “magic” in turn. After wearing themselves out, Riley (Jade’s brother) asks for a turn. Jade refuses because he is too young. When his sister leaves, Riley persists on begging Mia for just one round. After minutes of persuasion, Mia finally agrees to allow Riley to take 50 seconds. Things took an interesting turn when Riley let the spirit in. The spirit starts talking like Mia’s mom. After 50 seconds, they try to remove the hand (break the connection with the spirit), but Mia stops them. Mia continues talking to her mother (the spirit in Riley's body) and allows the possession to go longer than 90 seconds (which is against the rule). Suddenly, Riley goes crazy and starts hitting his head on a table. As if that wasn’t enough, he tried to remove his eyeballs, thanks to Mia who stopped him from doing that.

   Riley is rushed to the hospital and is in a terrible condition. The spirit still continues to hunt him until Mia ends things by taking her own life.

   I love almost everything about this movie. First off, the characters did a great job- they played their roles perfectly. I’m not sure if they are new to the movie industry, but if they are, it wasn’t obvious because they handled their roles well. Also, the plot follows a sequential arrangement. The plot of the movie is catchy and interesting, until the ending. The ending of the movie is confusing. In my opinion, the director should’ve done a better job with the ending. Overall, the movie is quite amazing.

   I recommend this movie to all horror movie lovers.

Como estamos en Octubre, el cual es considerado el mes del terror, sería bueno recomendar películas buenas de terror para ver este mes y he dado con una que de seguro te va a encantar. Se llama Háblame y fue estrenada este año 2023.

         Tomando en cuenta la sinopsis de la página FilmAffinity, la película trata:

   La solitaria adolescente Mia se engancha a la emoción de invocar espíritus utilizando una mano embalsamada, pero cuando se enfrenta a un alma que dice ser su madre muerta, desata una plaga de fuerzas sobrenaturales y se debate entre decidir en quién puede confiar: en los vivos o en los muertos.

        Me pareció curioso cómo un objeto común puede llegar a generar miedo de sólo tocarlo. Esto se debe a que la historia que decidieron desarrollar para ésta película es realmente buena. A mi la verdad me gustó mucho y me asustó en algunas escenas ya que opté por taparme los ojos para no ver lo que salía.

Sin embargo, la actuación que brindó Sophi Wilde me dejó atónita. Ya que da bastante miedo sus expresiones y su peinado descuidado es un plus también.

         De los demás chicos que trabajaron aquí, todos son nuevos para mí pero me parece que hicieron un excelente trabajo. Me gustaría seguirlos viendo en otras películas a futuro y estaré atenta a nuevos trabajos que realicen.

         Como les comenté antes, la película me asustó en algunas escenas. Tiene lo suyo. Por esa razón le doy una puntuación de 7/10. El final de verdad que fue alto totalmente inesperado y aunque hubieron escenas que me aburrieron un poco por cómo iban, me parece que le dieron una buena trama y la ejecutaron muy bien, es decir, no dejaron nada en el aire y sin explicar.

         Aunque me gustan las películas de posesión y de objetos o juguetes que tienen el fin de hacer contacto con los muertos, soy fiel partidaria de que deben tomarse con más cuidado y no como un juego ya que nunca se sabe lo que se puede desatar. Este tipo de películas aunque muchos la toman como de ciencia ficción, se podría decir que se basa en situaciones que podrían ocurrir facilmente.

         No está tan alejado de la realidad y esta es una de los motivos por el cual me gustó bastante este film. Y como en toda película de terror, se llega un punto en el cual no sabes qué es lo que va a pasar. Tampoco se sabe cuál será el desenlace final, por todas estas razones pienso que sería bueno darle una oportunidad. Aquí te dejo el trailer de la película si te llama la atención.

As we are in October, which is considered the month of horror, it would be good to recommend good horror movies to watch this month and I have come up with one that you will surely love. It's called Talk to Me and it was released this year 2023.

         Taking into account the synopsis of the web FilmAffinity, the film is about:

   Lonely teenager Mia gets hooked on the thrill of summoning spirits using an embalmed hand, but when she is confronted by a soul claiming to be her dead mother, she unleashes a plague of supernatural forces and is torn between deciding who she can trust: the living or the dead.

        I found it curious how a common object can generate fear just by touching it. This is because the story they decided to develop for this movie is really good. I liked it and it scared me in some scenes because I chose to cover my eyes to not see what was coming out.

        Of all the actors who worked here, I only know of one who is the incredible Miranda Otto, of whom I have been a loyal follower and fan since I saw her working on The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. However, the performance she gave Sophi Wilde, I was flabbergasted. Since it's quite scary her expressions and her unkempt hairstyle are a plus too.

         Of the other guys who worked here, they are all new to me but I thought they did an excellent job. I want to continue seeing them in other films in the future and I'll keep an eye out for new work from them.

         As I mentioned before, the movie scared me in some scenes. It has its own thing. For that reason, I give it a score of 7/10. The ending was unexpected and although some scenes bored me a bit because of how they went, I think they gave it a good plot and executed it very well, that is, they didn't leave anything in the air and unexplained.

         Although I like movies of possession and objects or toys that have the purpose of making contact with the dead, I am a faithful supporter that they should be taken with more care and not as a game because you never know what can be unleashed. This type of movie, although many take it as science fiction, it could be said that it is based on situations that could easily happen.

         It's not that far from reality and that's one of the reasons why I liked this film so much. And as in every horror movie, there comes a point where you don't know what will happen. Nor do you know what the outcome will be, for all these reasons I think it would be good to give it a chance. Here is the trailer of the film if it catches your attention.

   Talk To Me is considered by many people to be one of the best horror films that have been released in recent years, worthy of sharing the Olympus with gems like Hereditary by Ari Aster or Get Out by Jordan Peele, and after having seen it I understand perfectly why.

   The Australian film directed by Danny and Michael Philoppou and produced by A24 takes a set of generic elements and reintroduces them in a refreshing way, presenting us with an agile and visually striking film that manages to entertain us from beginning to end.

   The premise? A group of teenagers decide to play with a "hand" that has supernatural properties, allowing them to communicate with the souls of the deceased in a seemingly random way, all they need to do is hold it and say the prayer "talk to me."

   Although talk to me follows a fairly predictable scheme, its presentation is what ends up elevating it to another level, starting from the brilliant performances of its protagonists (Who are mostly unknown but quite talented Australian boys), to the subtle but imposing use of a great soundtrack that organically intersects the direction.

   Aside from this, I must mention that although it never engages in excessive use of gore, there were a couple of moments that made me cringe a lot, something that I honestly haven't felt in many, many years...

   Talk To Me takes the same foundations of failures as Truth or Dare and allows us to reconnect with everything that makes these types of horror films so fascinating in the first place, ensuring that in just an hour and a half we can connect with its protagonists, we feel fascinated by the supernatural elements and we feel impacted by its brilliant ending.

   

   

   A display of genius that I hope does not end up becoming an unnecessarily extended franchise, let's enjoy the good things without trying to make them last forever.

   Talk To Me es considerada por mucha gente como una de las mejores películas de terror que se han estrenado en los últimos años, digna de compartir el Olimpo con joyas como Hereditary de Ari Aster o Get Out de Jordan Peele, y luego de haberla visto entiendo perfectamente por qué.

   El filme australiano dirigido por Danny y Michael Philoppou y producido por A24 toma un conjunto de elementos genéricos y los reintroduce de forma refrescante, presentándonos una película ágil y visualmente impactante que logra entretenernos de principio a fin.

   ¿La premisa? Un grupo de adolescentes decide jugar con una "mano" que cuenta con propiedades sobrenaturales, permitiendoles comunicarse con almas de fallecidos de forma aparentemente aleatoria, todo lo que necesitan es sujetarla y decir la oración "talk to me".

   Aunque talk to me sigue un esquema bastante predecible, su presentación es la que termina elevándola a otro nivel, partiendo de los brillantes performances de sus protagonistas (Quienes en su mayoría son chicos australianos desconocidos pero con bastante talento), hasta el uso sutil pero imponente de una gran banda sonora que se entremezcla orgánicamente la dirección.

   Aparte de esto, debo mencionar que a pesar de que nunca incurre en el uso excesivo de gore, hubo un par de momentos que me generaron una gran cantidad de grima, algo que honestamente no había sentido desde hace muchísimos años...

   Talk To Me toma los mismos cimientos de fracasos como Truth or Dare y nos permite reconectar con todo lo que hace que este tipo de filmes de terror sean tan fascinantes en primer lugar, logrando que en tan solo una hora y media de duración podamos conectar con sus protagonistas, sintamos fascinación por los elementos sobrenaturales y nos sintamos impactados por su brillante final.

   

   

   

   Una muestra de genialidad que espero no se termine convirtiendo en una franquicia alargada innecesariamente, disfrutemos las cosas buenas sin empeñarnos en hacer que duren por siempre.

   Hola hive, hoy les quiero hablar de una película bastante interesante que vi hace unos días, porque aunque nunca me he considerado 100% fan del género de terror, últimamente he visto buenas películas, y en lo personal siento que esta tiene puntos interesantes para destacar, así que por esta razón es que hoy les vengo a hablar de Talk To Me

   Talk To Me es una película de terror lanzada en el 2022, dirigida por Danny y Michael Philippou, y protagonizada por Sophie Wilde, Alexandra Jensen y Joe Bird. La película nos muestra a un grupo de adolescentes que juegan con una misteriosa mano, la cual hace que espíritus accedan al cuerpo de quien la toca, pero obviamente todo se sale de control y deberán buscar la forma de remediar la situación. Ya habiendo dado un poco de contexto comencemos!

   Primero siempre me gusta empezar hablando de lo que más me encanto de la película y en este caso sin duda es la historia, porque sinceramente me suele molestar cuando las películas de terror dejan la historia de lado por el simple hecho de dar miedo y ya, y es que no importa el género que sea, al final una película debe de tener una buena historia, y siento que talk to me cumple con esto, ya que la premisa crea una buena base para ahí si apostar por el miedo y el terror.

   También otro aspecto del que estoy muy pendiente en las películas de terror es la dirección, porque siento que esto es extremadamente importante para este tipo de películas ya que sirven para ambientar mejor y crear tensión e “incomodidad” en los espectadores, así que hay películas que logran usar esto a su favor y obviamente talk to me no es la excepcion, tiene planos y movimientos de cámara bastante interesante que logran trasmitir a la perfección esa sensación de “tensión”.

   Me sorprendió mucho todo lo relacionado con el sonido en esta película, obviamente cuenta con esos típicos sonidos especiales de película de terror (y logran su objetivo) pero más allá de eso también cuenta con un soundtrack que es bastante bueno y eso me llamo mucho la atención.

   Las Actuaciones de esta película son impresionantes, talk to me no es esa película de terror que busca escenas súper oscuridad para generar miedo, sino que al contrario, son escenas muy iluminadas pero que lograr el “miedo” Gracias a la excelente actuación y una buena dirección, así que si, me parece que en general el cast tiene también es parte fundamental para que esta película funcione tan bien.

   Talk to Me es una película de terror que intenta salirse un poco de ese molde al que estamos acostumbrados, logra arriesgar un poco más y a mi en lo personal me gusto bastante, entiendo que si buscas asustarte y que te de mucho miedo esta película no te va a dar eso, porque también le da valor a otros factores, pero si siento que objetivamente es una excelente película y es súper disfrutable.

   En conclusión considero que es una muy buena película, pero como ya dije va más allá de solo dar miedo, hay personas a las que esto tal vez no les guste tanto, pero a mi más bien esto me hace pensar que es una película más completa por ende la disfruta más, pero al final son gustos. Así que por mi parte… totalmente recomendada!

   Talk To Me is a horror movie released in 2022, directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, and starring Sophie Wilde, Alexandra Jensen and Joe Bird. The film shows us a group of teenagers playing with a mysterious hand, which causes spirits to access the body of whoever touches it, but obviously everything gets out of control and they must find a way to remedy the situation.    First I always like to start talking about what I love most about the film and in this case it is undoubtedly the story, because honestly it bothers me when horror movies leave the story aside for the simple fact of being scary and that's it, and no matter what genre it is, in the end a movie must have a good story, and I feel that talk to me complies with this, since the premise creates a good base to bet on fear and terror.

   Also another aspect that I am very aware of in horror movies is the direction, because I feel that this is extremely important for this kind of movies as they serve to better set the mood and create tension and "discomfort" in the viewers, so there are movies that manage to use this to their advantage and obviously talk to me is no exception, it has quite interesting shots and camera movements that manage to perfectly convey that feeling of "tension".

   I was very surprised by everything related to the sound in this movie, obviously it has those typical horror movie special sounds (and they achieve their goal) but beyond that it also has a soundtrack that is quite good and that caught my attention.

   The performances of this movie are impressive, talk to me is not that horror movie that looks for super dark scenes to generate fear, but on the contrary, are very bright scenes but achieve the "fear" thanks to the excellent acting and good direction, so yes, it seems to me that in general the cast has also is a fundamental part for this movie to work so well.

   Talk to Me is a horror movie that tries to get out of the mold we are used to, it manages to risk a little more and I personally liked it a lot, I understand that if you are looking to be scared and that this movie is not going to give you that, because it also gives value to other factors, but I feel that objectively it is an excellent movie and it is super enjoyable.

   In conclusion I think it is a very good movie, but as I said it goes beyond just being scary, there are people who may not like this so much, but for me this makes me think that it is a more complete movie and therefore I enjoy it more, but in the end it is a matter of taste. So for my part... totally recommended!

    More than 25 years ago I suffered a chilling experience when some friends invited me to a party, where initially everything was normal, until through a rite they invoked a spirit, which supposedly would take possession of one of the participants of the meeting.

    I almost ran out when I heard this, but my girlfriend kept me inside the room, immediately her brother began to speak in other languages, his face seemed to transform, he threw himself on the floor and at times, believe it or not he seemed to be levitating.

    All this happened in the course of almost two minutes, which were very frightening for me, in a claustrophobic environment where the atmosphere was so tense that, as they say, it could be cut with a knife.

    I even remembered how in the 70's it was fashionable to find those boards called Quija that were said to be able to open portals with the dead through which people could communicate with them.

    After about two minutes, my girlfriend's brother returned to normal and everyone in the meeting commented on what had happened.

    In the film, the way to contact the dead is similar to that of the Ouija, but this time, the object used is an embalmed hand which, when touched and invoking certain words, allows to communicate with the spirits of the afterlife.

    I was impressed by the slight possessions of the teenagers as the pupils of their eyes instead of dilating increased in size and suddenly their coloration was black.

    The film's directors are brothers Danny and Michael Philippou, known for their YouTube channel RackaRacka. Mia is played by young Australian Sophie Wilde and Riley by young Australian Joe Bird.

    As I watched the film, my memories of that meeting where I witnessed a kind of possession came back, and I identified that feeling of anguish that the film was generating in me with those feelings of panic and terror of more than 25 years ago.

    El día de hoy les presentó una película de suspenso, horror y fantasía llamado Hablame, una de las mejores películas de horror que he visto hasta los momentos en este año 2023, aunque pensaba haberlo visto todo en el año pasado 2022, esta película es de ese año, y de verdad que me ha parecido bastante buena, pero no lo suficiente como para asustarme en lo absoluto, pero tiene unas escenas que de verdad considero que son demasiado buenas y es a lo que le ha dado la cantidad de 3 estrellas de 5 según mis gustos en el universo cinematográfico.

    Uno de estos adolescentes será poseído y depende de Mía interpretada por Sophie Wilde, traerlo de vuelta al mundo de los vivos.

    Pero no todos tienen la mente débil, es por ese motivo que los muertos no pueden poseer a los adolescentes, sino que buscan la forma de detectar al más débil para engañar a los mayores, de que los más pequeños lo intenten para poder poseerlo y hacerlo suyos, aunque no hay nada que se pueda hacer con un cuerpo poseído, los que han intentado se han convertido en almas en pena en el interior del poder maligno de esta mano.

    Donde pasaran eternos tormentos con ganas de volver a la vida, así que llego la hora de que Mía enmendé el caos que ha provocado.

    De verdad que las criaturas que se encuentran aquí son muy asquerosas y repugnantes, me encanta que hayan invertido muy bien en el maquillaje de los participantes actores de esta película, son muy realistas.

    Las cosas comienzan a complicarse cuando uno de los más pequeños intenta probar suerte, ellos ven esto como un juego, donde quien dure más tiempo sin hacerse daño a sí mismo sería como el ganador.

    Pero como para más drama, resulta que uno de los más pequeños dura más tiempo, hasta que la cuestión empeora y no queda remedio que aceptar las consecuencias de los actos por el hecho de que quien poseyó el cuerpo del más joven, es la madre de uno de los presentes en este juego tan culto.

    Me gusto mucho como trabajaron en cada escena, y en algunas donde algunos se hacen daño a sí mismos se veían tan reales que pensé que de verdad que hicieron daño, sin duda alguna todos los actores interpretaron muy bien sus papeles, porque este tipo de escenas tan realistas no lo había visto en otras películas.

    I really liked how they worked on each scene, and in some scenes where some of them hurt themselves they looked so real that I thought they really hurt themselves, without a doubt all the actors played their roles very well, because I had not seen this kind of realistic scenes in other movies.

    Sin duda alguna me atrevo a decir que es la mejor película del género que he visto en mucho tiempo, ha sido bien merecedora de las 3 estrellas, pero la historia no me convenció lo suficiente, pero aun así no deja de ser una buena película.

    Recomiendo que tengan la oportunidad de verla, pero es mejor verlo con amigos o familia para que se pueda disfrutar al 100%, hay algunas escenas que asustan un poco, pero no lo suficiente como para hacer que temblemos de miedo o que nos dé miedo de ir al baño solos durante la noche.

    Una de las cosas que capto mucho mi atención antes de verla, es la increíble reputación que tiene en Rotten Tomatoes, tiene un 95% de la aprobación de los críticos y ha tenido un 82% de la audiencia, y de verdad que es muy buena, lo único de malo es que no inspira miedo como debería, pienso que debieron hacer que las criaturas fueran más horrendas y que haya momentos donde aparecen de repente, que las cosas sean desprevenidas.

    

     Without a doubt I dare to say that it is the best movie of the genre that I have seen in a long time, it has been well deserving of the 3 stars, but the story did not convince me enough, but even so it is still a good movie.

    I recommend that you have the opportunity to see it, but it is best to watch it with friends or family so you can enjoy it 100%, there are some scenes that are a little scary, but not enough to make us shiver with fear or make us afraid to go to the bathroom alone during the night.

    One of the things that caught my attention before watching it, is the incredible reputation it has in Rotten Tomatoes, it has a 95% of approval from critics and has had 82% of the audience, and it is really very good, the only bad thing is that it does not inspire fear as it should, I think they should have made the creatures more horrifying and that there are moments where they appear suddenly, that things are unsuspecting.

    How do you have fun with your friends in the evenings? Maybe with video games, watching movies, chatting while drinking liquor or just chatting. Some people exceed the limits with narcotics that they can't control, taking it to a more or less catastrophic level.

    In this film; Talk to Me, we will see a series of very clear analogies. Some will make us reflect on how young people do stupid things to impress stupid people, it will also bring out laughs to keep us gripped for the moment and then release us towards the climax.

    This thriller is an opera that ascends into madness; that same insanity that will make us face the unknown and remind us that we cannot cross its boundaries. With a touch of drama, disturbing and disgusting scenes, little blood, but enough to make us shudder, Talk to Me; although it is not an innovative film, it proposes a different narrative that many horror films about possessions do not have.

    Plot

    The story centers on a girl named Mía; a teenager with torturous traumas about the sudden death of her mother. On the second anniversary of her death, Mia relives nostalgic emotions with happy moments she lived with her mom; which denotes a strong denial about her death.

    Mia, along with her best friend Jade, discover some videos of people apparently drugged with something strong in the house of one of Jade's friends. Mia, curious, and to get away from the bad thoughts and depression, begs Jade to let her go with her to the next meeting, to see with her own eyes the effect of the drug. Jade agrees, and along with her brother Riley and Jade's boyfriend; Daniel, they go to said party at Joss' house. There they discover that the fun is not because of a drug, but because of an embalmed hand that belonged to a medium, which has the ability to summon spirits.

    Like a coven of witches gathering to summon the dead, the teens use the embalmed hand to have fun; calling out to the spirits and letting them possess them, and thus feel their stimulating effects. Mia, excited by the intrigue, asks to use the hand and succeeds, but something goes wrong.

    One of the fundamental rules of the possessions is that the spirit cannot be inside your body for more than 90 seconds or it will want to stay, in Mia's case, the time limit was exceeded, which will have terrible consequences later.

    From here, the game with the unknown becomes terrifying. Mia enters a loop of anxiety, having more frequent contacts with spirits. The ghostly presence of her mother appears, creating in Mia a dependence on the embalmed hand.     Mía, junto con su mejor amiga Jade, descubren unos videos de gente aparentemente drogada con algo fuerte en la casa de uno de los amigos de Jade. Mía, curiosa, y para alejarse de los malos pensamientos y la depresión, le suplica a Jade que la deje ir con ella a la próxima reunión, para ver con sus propios ojos el efecto de la droga. Jade accede, y junto con su hermano Riley y el novio de Jade; Daniel, van a dicha fiesta en casa de Joss. Allí descubren que la diversión no es por causa de una droga, sino por una mano embalsamada que perteneció a un médium, la cual tiene la habilidad de invocar espíritus.

    Como en un aquelarre de brujas que se reúnen para invocar a los muertos, los adolescentes usan la mano embalsamada para divertirse; llamando a los espíritus y dejar que los posesionen, y así sentir sus efectos estimulantes.     My opinion

    I had wanted to see this movie for a long time, since I had seen a lot of marketing about it and the high level of acceptance by the critics; besides being produced by one of the film companies that I admire the most as it is A24, a company that distributed all the films of one of my favorite directors who is Ari Aster. I was already curious about this part and I had to satisfy my curiosity when I had the opportunity.

    From the beginning, the film leaves you with the intrigue of what will happen next, then it takes us into the life of a girl with a trauma that haunts her and becomes the engine that will lead us to a village of terror and death.

    It is true that this movie doesn't bring a new theme, as it is another story about possessions with stupid teenagers playing with things they don't understand, however Tal to Me, brings us a different story with a drama that we can connect with.

    For me in particular I was only interested in the story of Mia and the hand, the other characters were just necessary tools to get to the climax of the plot. Although they did delve into Mia's life; taking us to the most chaotic emotional pains of this character, I would have liked them to expose a little more about the origin of the hand and solve questions like: Whose hand was it? Did it really belong to a medium? What was its name? Why would they want to use its ability to contact spirits? And questions like that. As I understand it, there will be a sequel, and perhaps here they can answer these questions.

    The make-up was one of the things I loved the most; more than being scary, it was repulsive, especially in some disturbing parts. Nowadays, when I watch a horror movie, I no longer do it to be scared; I'm past that stage, I like to watch them for the art, the plot, the narrative and all the elements they offer us.

    Talk to Me offers a deep story, adding an embalmed hand instead of a Ouija board and a drama that I felt trapped with. I have no complaints with the performances, I felt they were on point with the story sequence. I realized that this is a horror film aimed at a young audience, because of the elements we can perceive, and the analogies they use, perhaps as an effect disguised as black humor, but they were quite accurate.

    I understood why it had a lot of acceptance, and for an independent film, it debuted quite a bit worldwide. Directors Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou went from being just well-known youtubers to become celebrated filmmakers thanks to this work. I hope the sequel has as deep a story and doesn't just focus on possessions.

    Desde hace tiempo quería ver esta película, ya que había visto mucho marketing sobre ella y el nivel alto de aceptación por parte de la crítica; además de ser producida por una de las empresas de cine que más admiro como lo es la A24, empresa que distribuyó todas las películas de uno de mis directores preferidos que es Ari Aster. Ya por esa parte me entró la curiosidad y tuve que saciarla al tener la oportunidad.

    Desde el inicio, la película te deja con la intriga de lo que pasará después, luego nos hace adentrarnos en la vida de una chica con un trauma que la persigue y se convierte en el motor que nos conducirá a una villa de terror y muerte.

    Es cierto que esta película no trae un tema nuevo, pues es otra historia sobre posesiones con adolescentes estúpidos jugando con cosas que no comprenden, sin embargo Tal to Me, nos trae un relato diferente con un drama con el que si podemos conectar.

    A mí en particular solo me interesaba la historia de Mía y de la mano, los otros personajes solo eran herramientas necesarias para llegar al climax de la trama. Aunque sí profundizaron en la vida de Mía; llevándonos a los dolores emocionales más caóticos de este personaje, me hubiera gustado que expusieran un poco más sobre el origen de la mano y resolver preguntas como: ¿De quién era? ¿De verdad perteneció a un médium? ¿Cómo se llamaba? ¿Por qué querrían usar su habilidad para contactar espíritus? Y cuestiones por el estilo. Según tengo entendido, habrá una secuela, y quizás aquí puedan responder estas dudas.

    El maquillaje fue una de las cosas que más me encantó; más que causar miedo, me causó repulsión, sobre todo en algunas partes perturbadoras. Hoy en día, cuando veo una película de terror, ya no lo hago para que me cause miedo; ya superé esa etapa, me gusta verlas por el arte, la trama, la narrativa y todos los elementos que nos ofrecen.

    Talk to Me ofrece una historia profunda, agregándole una mano embalsamada en vez de una ouija y un drama con el que me sentí atrapado. No tengo queja con las actuaciones, me parece que iban a la medida de acuerdo con la secuencia de la historia. Me di cuenta que esta es una película de terror dirigida a un público joven, por lo elementos que podemos percibir, y las analogías que utilizan, quizás como efecto disfrazado de humor negro, pero fueron bastante acertados.

    Comprendí porque tuvo mucha aceptación, y para ser una película de cine independiente, debutó bastante a nivel mundial. Los directores Danny Philippou y Michael Philippou dejaron de ser simples youtubers reconocidos para convertirse en celebres cineastas gracias a esta obra. Espero que la secuela tenga una historia tan profunda y no se centre solo en las posesiones.

    Conclusions

    Talk to Me, is not a horror film that offers something new, because the first impression it gives is that it is very "cliché", but as we get into the plot, we will find an intriguing story that does not focus only on possessions and ghosts, because the narrative follows a disturbing path that keeps us glued to the screen. It is not the best horror movie I have ever seen, but it fulfills the main objective which is to entertain the viewer.

    It has grotesque scenes that are not suitable for delicate people, with excellent makeup and adequate performances. Here you will find suspense, the mystery of an unresolved issue that will keep you curious, deception, resentment and a pretty good and decent ending in my opinion. I recommend it and, if you have already seen it, I would like to know your opinions.

    Talk to Me, no es un film de terror que ofrezca algo novedoso, pues la primera impresión que da es que es muy “cliché”, pero al adentrarnos en la trama, nos encontraremos con una historia intrigante que no se centra solo en posesiones y fantasmas, pues la narrativa sigue por un camino perturbador que nos mantiene pegados a la pantalla. No es la mejor película de terror que haya visto, pero cumple con el objetivo principal que es el de entretener al espectador.

    Tiene escenas grotescas que no son aptas para personas delicadas, con un maquillaje excelente y actuaciones adecuadas. Aquí encontrarás suspenso, el misterio de un asunto que no se resolvió y que te mantendrá con curiosidad, engaños, resentimientos y un final bastante bueno y decente a mi parecer. La recomiendo y, si ya la han visto, me gustaría saber sus opiniones.

    Perder a un ser querido es probablemente la cosa más difícil y complicada de llevar sea quien seas, si a esa situación le sumas que eres una persona joven, saliendo de la adolescencia, y estás rodeado de eso, de jóvenes tomando decisiones muy cuestionables por no decir estúpidas es muy posible que lo que termines o terminen haciendo sea una metida de pana monumental. Pero también cabría hacer la pregunta, hasta donde serías capaz de llegar para poder hablar con esa persona que se fue? - eso dependerá de como lleves el duelo y de que tan maduro seas. Y no amigos, no estoy desvariando ni nada por el estilo, esto lo digo con la intención de que tengan un poco de contexto ya que esta película va de eso, de decisiones tontas acompañadas de personas jóvenes muy influenciables.

Así que bueno, vayamos entonces y hablemos un poco de lo que es esta historia que involucra una mano que conecta el mundo de los vivos con el de los muertos.

    Comenzamos con Mia (Sophie Wilde), una muchacha la cual no lo está pasando del todo bien en su vida debido a que el trauma por la trágica muerte de su madre lo lleva en su espalda a pesar de que han pasado varios años. La relación con su papa tampoco es la mejor por lo que siempre busca refugio en sus amigos, mientras más tiempo esté fuera de su casa, mejor será para ella. Como típicos adolescentes siempre están haciendo fiestas y reuniones para pasar el tiempo, el detalle es que estos no se divierten con alcohol o con alguna otra sustancia de dudosa procedencia, lo hacen con una mano embalsamada que irónicamente si es de dudosa procedencia ya que unos dicen que perteneció a un vidente, a un espiritista, etc.

De aquí en adelante este grupo de jóvenes, en especial Mia ya que en algún momento de logra comunicar con su madre muerta, tendrán que buscar la manera de deshacer todas esas invocaciones que hicieron sin tener idea del peligro que ese iba a traer más adelante. Y es que al final en la vida todo se paga. Una película que es un hibrido entre un thriller psicológico y un terror lleno de sangre e imágenes poco amigables.

    Cuando buscaron armar y darle forma a la historia no se comieron mucho la cabeza, nada más genérico que un montón de chamos sin tener nada que hacer que se ponen a jugar a ser Dios sin medir consecuencia alguna, más o menos lo que fue la adolescencia de muchos de nosotros la verdad. Lo que digo es que la trama me pareció super lineal y sin especio a algo que pueda sorprender o ser inesperado, hasta me atrevería a decir que me falto mucho contexto con varias cosas. La protagonista no es Mia, es la mano y por tanto hubiese estado mejor una ligera historia de su origen, no me sirve un chisme que va de boca en boca, quiero algo que lleve a la gente a temerle realmente y eso no existe. Ya se sabe que va a haber una secuela por lo que a lo mejor tocarán este aspecto allí pero de igual forma, mucha profundidad no hay en este film.

    Unos dirán que eso no hace falta porque el fin máximo de este tipo de películas es entretener a punta de sustos y bueno tienen un punto pero siempre va a ser necesario más contexto, así un mínimo. Hablando de sustos, definitivamente este no es un film en donde los "jump scare" se hacen presente, no los hay; todo va más en la dirección del suspenso, en eso que se esconde en las sombras, esa mano que te toca el hombro, el espectro que aparece en un espejo o en tus sueños o la voz que te susurra al oído. Ese es el terror que vivirán. En lo personal a mi me parece muy predecible eso, supongo que llega un punto en que casi nada ya me sorprende. Pero ojo, esto no es un problema de la película, soy yo; el film lo hace todo para que vivas una buena experiencia de terror.

    Hay sangre? - si hay. Hay unas escenas que estuvieron muy bien hechas, en especial las que protagoniza el niño que ven arriba, creo que es lo mejor de la película sinceramente. Recuerdo verlas y llegar a sentir algo a lo interno raro, es decir "ok, eso estuvo fuerte" pero no a nivel de susto sino por lo gráfico y explicito. Muy probablemente tu que me lees si eres una persona sensible a estas escenas te llegues a retorcer un poco en la silla o cama, eso es sinónimo de que el film hizo bien el trabajo. Como ya dije, es una producción de A24, quienes son unos maestros del genero, films como Hereditary, Midsommar, The Lighthouse, son algunos de sus creaciones. Al saber esto honestamente esperaba un poco más, no es en ningún momento una película mala pero para mi no llega a ser extraordinaria ni espeluznante como he leído por ahí.

As I said, it is an A24 production, who are masters of the genre, films like Hereditary, Midsommar, The Lighthouse, are some of their creations. Knowing this I honestly expected a bit more, it's not at any point a bad movie but for me it doesn't get to be extraordinary or creepy as I've read out there.

I don't know why but it's a weird movie, I feel like I needed to connect more with some of them but I didn't, the film didn't take me to that place. Still there's nothing to complain about either, everything is average overall.

    7/10, soy muy critico con el terror y en esta oportunidad aspiraba a algo más. La película no es un fiasco, lejos de serlo, pero no me cautivó, he visto mejores este año. Es novedosa, eso si, hacer de una mano lo mismo que hace una ouija no lo había visto nunca por lo que creo que si merece una oportunidad de que la vean, se que van a pasar un buen rato. Dura hora y media, tiempo perfecto para un film. Les dejo el tráiler por acá abajo.

    7/10, I'm very critical with horror and this time I was looking for something more. The film is not a fiasco, far from it, but it didn't captivate me, I've seen better this year. It is novel, yes, to do with one hand the same thing that a Ouija board does, I had never seen it before, so I think it deserves a chance to be seen, I know you will have a good time.     A group of friends defy unknown forces by making contact with spirits through a supposedly embalmed hand.

    While the encounters with the supernatural world are fun at first, soon, each of them will begin to suffer the terrible consequences, degrading their bodies and minds to unimaginable levels.

    Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou, creators of the YouTube channel "RackaRacka", make their directorial debut with Talk to Me, a supernatural horror film.

    The result is a deliciously gory film full of ghosts, a couple of well-executed scares, great special effects, and some pretty shocking scenes that, without the extreme gore, do so for their violence that causes some resentment and influence.

    Neither the pretension of deep plots nor the scares, the film balances fear and suspense very well because although it is based on one of the most fundamental elements of the genre such as ghosts, it also creates a story that despite its simplicity manages to be entertaining and to some extent fresh; in addition, of course, to show a quite unexpected ending.

    Undoubtedly another element to highlight is the level of violence the film exhibits, as the few gory scenes we see on screen provoke discomfort and unease thanks to the interesting special effects work between makeup and visuals.

    "Talk to Me" is an example of how a horror film does not always have to have depth or wit to qualify as a "good" film; no, "Talk to Me" reminds us that we can enjoy horror because it is simpler and more basic.

    Hace unos meses los avances que nos dejaban las distintas plataformas de noticias sobre los próximos estrenos de las películas de terror mencionaban entre otras a "HÁBLAME" y esta no me dejaba muy entusiasmada que se diga, porque pensaba "Otra película de jóvenes irreventes y tontos"

    También pensé que se trataría de otra película sobre contactar entes malignos, pero en lugar de una Quija, lo harían con una mano de maniquí o algo así.

    Sin embargo, a pocos días de su estreno me topé con su Tráiler Oficial y tiene algunos elementos que me hicieron tomar la decisión de verla, sobre todo de producción más que de la historia, aquí les dejo el Tráiler:

    En "HÁBLAME" unos jóvenes contactan con espíritus que tienen muy mal aspecto, con lo que parece ser una mano embalsamada de un vidente o satanista. Encienden una vela para abrir ese portal, deben tocar la mano y decir "HABLAME" y pueden ver a un muerto o espíritu. Pero además si dicen "TE DEJO ENTRAR" ese espíritu que ven puede ahora tomar su cuerpo mientras tengan la mano agarrada.

    Esto lo controlan los jóvenes con el tiempo, no debe pasarse de 90 segundos según unas reglas que como espectadores no nos dicen de donde salen. Para mí fue incómodo de ver como ellos sin miedo y sabiendo que pueden controlarlo y que efectivamente sí ven a un espíritu, pues lo que hacen es divertirse, burlarse, grabar con sus teléfonos móviles, y tener estados de euforia prácticamente.

    Como siempre digo me gustan las películas de terror donde los personajes toman decisiones inteligentes, o son personas manejando situaciones difíciles, etc. pero ver casi un circo a estos jóvenes me hizo sentir que sería muy predecible que sencillamente todo iba a salir mal por andar jugando con fuerzas paranormales y que la película iba a tratar un tema de terror como burlándose de los jóvenes.

    As I always say, I like horror movies where the characters make intelligent decisions, or are people handling difficult situations, etc. but seeing these young people almost like a circus made me feel that it would be very predictable that everything would simply go wrong for playing with paranormal forces and that the film was going to deal with a horror theme as if it were making fun of young people.

    La protagonista es Mia, una chica que perdió a su madre hace dos años, en circunstancias que no tiene del todo claras y esa situación la alejó de su padre. Está viviendo con la familia de una amiga, que son la amiga, el hermano de la amiga y la mamá.

    Aquí hay un elemento o sub trama que es el Duelo y los problemas familiares no resueltos, sin embargo siento que son tocados muy superficialmente, no me enganché con ningún personaje, porque no lo desarrollan, no hay grandes actuaciones

    Las eufóricas sesiones con los espíritus pierden el control cuando se ve afectado el hermano de su amiga, y dejan el portal abierto... Si, así de simple, algo que hemos visto muchísimas veces.

    The protagonist is Mia, a girl who lost her mother two years ago, in circumstances that are not entirely clear to her, and that situation took her away from her father. She is living with a friend's family, which is her friend, her friend's brother, and her mother.

    Here there is an element or subplot that is the Duel and the unresolved family problems, however I feel that they are touched very superficially, I did not get hooked on any character, because they do not develop it, there are no great performances

    The euphoric sessions with the spirits get out of control when her friend's brother is affected, leaving the portal open... Yes, just like that, something we've seen many times.

    ✅ LO QUE ME GUSTÓ:

    • La fotografía de la película, hermosos colores y sus encuadres.

    • El maquillaje de los espíritus era bastantes perturbadores y en momentos hasta difíciles de ver, estuvo bien logrado.

    • El final me gustó porque trató de dar sentido a toda la trama y la sub trama, y pudimos entender sobre como llegaban los espíritus a contactar a través de la mano.

    • Las escenas de acción/terror me gustaron y me recordaron a El Exorcista, no fueron exageradas fueron bastantes buenas, sin sobresaltos innecesarios.

    ✅ WHAT I LIKED:

    • The photography of the film, beautiful colors and their frames.

    • The makeup of the spirits was quite disturbing and at times even difficult to see, it was well done.

    • I liked the ending because it tried to make sense of the whole plot and the subplot, and we could understand how the spirits came to contact through the hand.

    • I liked the action/horror scenes and they reminded me of The Exorcist, they were not exaggerated, they were quite good, without unnecessary shocks.

    ❎ LO QUE NO ME GUSTÓ:

    • No desarrollaron bien a los personajes, no logré conectar o identificarme con ninguno.
    • La actitud eufórica de los jóvenes pienso que le resta mucho a la película, me gusta ver que los jóvenes de ahora no se asustan con cualquier cosa y que son más racionales, pero burlarse así de lo sobrenatural no creo que sea así realmente.
    • No experimenté el terror de las situaciones tensas, precisamente por la burla constante de los jóvenes, la cual simplemente desaparece de la película cuando todo sale de control, pero no hubo internalización de ellos de que jugaron con fuerzas paranormales.
    • Que el Duelo o la Depresión hayan sido tocadas en la película me parece bien, pero fue casi un accesorio, no trataron el tema como tal.

    ❎ WHAT I DID NOT LIKE:

    • They didn't develop the characters well, I couldn't connect or identify with any of them.
    • I think the euphoric attitude of the young people detracts a lot from the film, I like to see that young people today are not scared by anything and that they are more rational, but I don't think that making fun of the supernatural like that is really the case.
    • I did not experience the terror of tense situations, precisely because of the constant mockery of young people, which simply disappears from the film when everything gets out of control, but there was no internalization from them that they played with paranormal forces.
    • That Grief or Depression have been touched on in the film seems fine to me, but it was almost an accessory, they didn't treat the subject as such.

    ¿Recomiendo la película?

    Si quieres pasar una tarde viendo películas supongo que está bien, pero no vas a conseguir nada memorable, ni original, ni vas a sentir terror que es lo que uno busca en este género.

    Pienso que pude valorar los puntos de producción que señalé en lo que me gustó de "HÁBLAME" pero la historia es muy repetida, floja y poco seria. Pero no me arrepiento de haberla visto porque ya tengo mi opinión sobre ella y por cierto no es la de la mayoría, porque creo que está teniendo mejor aceptación de lo que esperaba.

    Sigo admirando más el terror de El Exorcista y Hereditary, que si considero obras maestras del género de Terror.

    Do I recommend the movie?

    If you want to spend an afternoon watching movies, I suppose that's fine, but you're not going to get anything memorable, or original, nor are you going to feel terror, which is what one looks for in this genre.

    I think I was able to assess the production points that I pointed out in what I liked about "TALK TO ME" but the story is very repeated, weak and not very serious. But I don't regret having seen it because I already have my opinion about it and it's certainly not the majority's, because I think it's having better acceptance than I expected.

    I continue to admire the terror of The Exorcist and Hereditary more than I do consider masterpieces of the Horror genre.
