I recently finished the first season of a series that few people talk about despite the fact that it has an outstanding technical level and has a cast of real luxury. It's a spy thriller of the highest caliber and I watched each episode weekly. It is titled The Agency and is available on Paramount or Showtime, depending on the streaming service in each country.

The series is a remake of the French super-hit Le Bureau des légendes, which ran for five seasons in its home country. Actor Mathieu Kassovitz played the title role. I never got to see it and it was on my list of productions to see, it was impossible to get it in subtitled version. I still have it pending, but from England comes this remake in which Eric Rochant, creator of the original French series, also participated in the scripts.

The series without making much noise, has left Paramount satisfied, because before reaching the end, they announced that the series had been renewed for a second season. When I started watching it I had my doubts about whether they would leave it in a single season, since I did not see it mentioned so much in social networks. Fortunately I did get to see the characters of this series that I liked enough, although I feel it could have been better.

I like the stories of espinoje, with all the international intrigues, seguiminetos, assassinations and conspiracies between intelligence agencies. For these stories to be unforgettable they must handle one very important factor. Emotions. I think this is where the flaw lies. It is an impeccable series on a technical level and with a cast desired by many, but in the end I noticed something of coldness. It is difficult to feel empathy for any of the characters. There was like a barrier that, in my case, could enhance the viewing experience.

Es un thriller de espionaje de gran nivel y vi cada episodio semanalmente. Se titula La Agencia y está disponible en Paramount o Showtime, dependiendo del servicio de streaming de cada país.

La serie es un remake del superéxito francés Le Bureau des légendes, que tuvo cinco temporadas en su país de origen. El actor Mathieu Kassovitz interpretó el papel principal. Nunca llegué a verla y estaba en mi lista de producciones a ver, fue imposible conseguirla en versión subtitulada. Afortunadamente si volveresmo a ver a los personajes de esta serie que me gustaron lo suficiente, aunque siento que pudo haber sido mejor.

Me gustan las historias de espinoje, con todas lass intrigas internacionales, seguiminetos, asesinatos y conspiraciones entre agencias de inteligencia. Para que estas historias sean inolvidables deben manejar un factor muy importante. Las emociones. Creo que aquí radica el fallo. Es una serie impecable a nivel técnico y con un reparto deseado por muchos, pero al final he notado algo de frialdad. Es difícil sentir empatía por alguno de los personajes. Había como una barrera que, en mi caso, podía mejorar la experiencia de visionado.

The series tries to show the human side of the characters, including their mistakes, which in the end can be fatal. The pace is leisurely, but it also has its fair share of adrenaline, with some operations taking place in the field. It is a series where you have to be wary of everything, as they are spies, skilled at lying and have many secrets.

The cast is headed by Michel Fassbender. Everyone knows this actor. He plays Martin. He is accompanied by the legendary Richard Gere, in the role of Bosko, head of the CIA station in London. The talented Jeffrey Wright as Henry, another CIA mastermind and Martin's superior. Katherine Waterson is Naomi, a trained agent and supervisor of the undercover agents. Jodie Turner Smith is Martin's love interest, Dr. Samia, the cause of all the trouble ahead for the agent. The beautiful Laura Lightfoot-Leon, who we recently saw in Americna Primeval, plays new agent Ruiz Morata, who must infiltrate a film program in Iran. The cast is larger and all are excellent in their characters.
