I hope they are very well, today I am here because I would like to share with you my opinion about one of my favorite movies, which is "the book thief" which was released in 2013 and is based on the book of the same written name By Markus Zusak, stars Sophie Nelisse, Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson, Nico Liersch and Ben Schnetzer. I hope you like it.

Espero estén muy bien, hoy estoy por aquí porque me gustaría compartir con ustedes mi opinión sobre una de mis peliculas favoritas, la cual es "La Ladrona de Libros" la cual fue lanzada en el 2013 y se basa en el libro del mismo nombre escrito por Markus Zusak, está protagonizada por Sophie Nelisse, Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson, Nico Liersch y Ben Schnetzer. Espero les guste.

During World War II, Liesel Meminger separates from his mother and is delivered to adoptive parents, after his little brother died during his train trip. His new mother, Rosa Hubermann proves to be a strict and cold woman at the beginning but then becomes a loving mother, and her father Hans Hubermann proves to be quite affectionate and tender with her from the beginning. He also knows Rudy Steiner, his neighbor who falls in love with her from the beginning and tries to make her a kiss, however she always refuses. As the war progresses, things are complicated since one day Max arrives, who is Jewish son of a friend of Hans who saved his life during World War I, and is hidden in the house for a season. Liesel develops a great taste for books and reading so with Hans' help to read, his first book is the sepulcher's manual, which read in his brother's funeral and then begins to steal books from the mayor's library , although then the mayor's wife realizes that but instead of scolding Liesel, he leaves the library window open so that she wants, and sometimes invites her to read and lets you take books to her house. This is a movie that shows us that in difficult times we must have empathy and help others, and also teaches us the great value of friendship, and love towards family and friends.

Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, Liesel Meminger se separa de su mamá y es entregada a unos padres adoptivos, luego de que su pequeño hermano falleciera durante su viaje en tren. Su nueva madre, Rosa Hubermann demuestra ser una mujer estricta y fría al principio pero luego se vuelve una madre amorosa, y su padre Hans Hubermann demuestra ser bastante cariñoso y tierno con ella desde el principio. También conoce a Rudy Steiner, su vecino el cual se enamora de ella desde el principio e intenta hacer que ella le de un beso, sin embargo ella siempre se niega. A medida que la guerra avanza, las cosas se complican ya que un dia llega Max, el cual es judío hijo de un amigo de Hans el cual le salvó la vida durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, y es escondido en la casa durante una temporada. Liesel desarrolla un gran gusto hacia los libros y la lectura así que con ayuda de Hans aprende a leer, su primer libro es el manual del sepultero, el cual leyeron en el sepelio de su hermano y luego comienza a robar libros de la biblioteca del alcalde, aunque luego la esposa del alcalde se da cuenta de eso pero en lugar de regañar a Liesel, le deja abierta la ventana de la biblioteca para que ella entre cuando quiera, y a veces la invita a leer y le deja llevarse libros a su casa. Esta es una pelicula que nos demuestra que en tiempos díficiles hay que tener empatía y ayudar a los demás, y también nos enseña el gran valor de la amistad, y el amor hacia la familia y amigos.

I watched this movie with great anticipation since I first read the book and I must confess that I cried with it, as with the movie which I really loved, despite being set in World War II, the story is really exciting and very touching and the work of the cast in general was really wonderful, I must say that I quite identify with Liesel Meminger, since like her I love reading and I love the development of all the characters in general, my favorite character is Rudy Steiner, since I think he is a very cute and nice character, it's also very easy to get attached to him from the beginning. What struck me a lot about the story is that it's narrated by death itself since unfortunately it's the protagonist of the Second World War, although this time it was represented in a subtle way and is always present, I also really liked that the movie was from the perspective of a girl like Liesel.

Vi esta pelicula con muchas ansias ya que primero leí el libro y debo confesar que lloré con él, al igual que con la pelicula la cual realmente me encantó, a pesar de estar ambientada en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, la historia es realmente emocionante y muy conmovedora y el trabajo del cast en general fue realmente maravilloso, debo decir que me identifico bastante con Liesel Meminger, ya que al igual que ella soy amante de la lectura y me encanta el desarrollo de todos los personajes en general, mi personaje favorito es Rudy Steiner ya que me parece un personaje bastante tierno y simpático además es muy fácil agarrarle cariño desde el principio. Lo que me impactó mucho de la historia, es que sea narrada por la propia muerte ya que lamentablemente es la protagonista de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, aunque esta vez fue representada de una manera sutil y siempre se hace presente, también me gustó mucho que la película haya sido desde la perspectiva de una niña como Liesel.

The photography and setting are excellent, as is the color palette used, which they managed to perfectly adapt depending on the scenes, and the costumes used were also spectacular and quite in keeping with that time. I also think that they did a very good job adapting the book, since despite the fact that it has many differences from the book, they still kept it as faithful as possible and managed to maintain the sensitivity that the novel transmits. There are many raw scenes and other moving ones, but the one I liked the most is the one in which Max comes out of his hiding place into the street and feels the rain while everyone hides in the shelter because it really was hell what the Jews had to live back then. The soundtrack is another thing that I like, in my opinion it is excellent and it works perfectly with the film.

La fotografía y ambientación son excelentes, al igual que la paleta de colores utilizada la cual lograron adaptar perfectamente dependiendo las escenas, y el vestuario utilizado también estuvo espectacular y bastante acorde a esa época. También pienso que hicieron muy buen trabajo adaptando el libro ya que a pesar de que tiene bastantes diferencias respecto al libro igual lo mantuvieron lo mas fiel posible y lograron mantener la sensibilidad que transmite la novela. Hay muchas escenas crudas y otras conmovedoras, pero la que más me gustó es en la que Max sale de su escondite a la calle y siente la lluvia mientras todos se esconden en el refugio yaque realmente fue un infierno lo que tuvieron que vivir los judíos en aquel entonces. El soundtrack es otra cosa que me gusta, en mi opinión es excelente y funciona a la perfección con la película.

Finally, I would say that it is a movie that is really worth seeing even once in a lifetime, since it is one of the best that has come out about World War II. I would very much like to recommend it to all those who have not seen it yet, I assure you that you will not regret it.

Para finalizar, diría que es una pelicula que realmente vale la pena verla aunque sea una vez en la vida, ya que es de las mejores que han salido sobre la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Me gustaría mucho recomendarla a todos los que todavía no la han visto, les aseguro que no se van a arrepentir.

This film is an adaptation of Markus Zusak's best-selling novel of the same name, published in 2005, won the Michael L. Printz Award in 2007 and was directed by Brian Percival, known for directing the film A Boy Called Dad.

Set in the midst of World War II, it portrays those times and tells the story of the girl Liesel Memminger, who was adopted by a German working class family during that time.

She helps her father and learns to read and share books with a Jewish man, who is the son of a friend of her father, who lives hidden in the basement of his house named Max, these she stole from the library of the house where she took the clothes that her mother washed to a lady.

That passion managed to distract her from the continuous bombings that were happening and in the end it will be the one that saves her.

It is a film with some unexpected twists that show the human and savage side of war, not the one they are used to show but the simple one, the one of the people who suffer without having a political conviction and for whom friendship is more important.

Sophie Nélisse has the main role in the play, it is only her second appearance on camera and she has won several awards, including Young Actress, while Geoffrey Rush: winner of the Oscar for Best Actor in 1996 for the film Shine and nominated three more times, is Hans Hubermann, the girl's father.

Emily Watson, with two previous Oscar nominations, plays the role of Rosa Hubermann and is also the voice of the omniscient narrator of the play, who represents the Angel of Death.

The film was released in November 2013 and critical opinion was mixed, highlighting the work of Nelisse, Rush and Watson, but also noting the numerous minor differences between the script and the book.

The film cost $19 million to produce and grossed over $76 million.
It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Soundtrack by John Williams but did not win.

Personally I had read the book first and the movie does not have the same quality of the novel but it is an option where feelings emerge that make it interesting and shows us realities little exposed. I recommend it.

Hola amigos, como aficionada a todo lo referente al tema del holocausto y la segunda guerra mundial, hoy les traigo "La Ladrona de Libros" película basada en el libro del mismo nombre, y después de haberlo leído puedo dar fe de que que el film es una adaptación bastante fiel y acertada. Acompáñenme a mirar la vida desde la perspectiva de una niña alemana, procedente de una familia de clase trabajadora con ideales que podrían ponerlos en peligro, en tiempos de la guerra.

Overview/Resumen

Liesel loses her family in the times before the war, her younger brother dies of pneumonia, and after the burial her mother gives her to a substitute family that can take better care of her. Her new mother, Rosa, is a somewhat cold and rude woman, but with time Liesel discovers how kind-hearted she is. Her father Hans is a tender and understanding man, so much so that he accompanies the poor girl during her nightly deliriums in which she is plagued by the memories of her brother's death, He also realizes that Liesel has stolen his first book "The Gravedigger's Manual" which she got at her brother's funeral, even though she can't read, but Hangs uses it to teach her, in fact every day they both write words on one of the walls of the cellar.

Liesel steals her second book from a pyre of Jewish and Communist-themed books that were being burned in an attempt to eradicate the ideologies that supposedly sullied German idiosyncrasy. Gradually she gets better at reading and even has more access to books when the mayor's wife offers her her own personal library.

Liesel roba su segundo libro de entre una pira de libros con temática judía y comunista que estaban siendo quemados en un intento de erradicar las ideologías que supuestamente mancillaban la idiosincrasia alemana. Poco a poco ella va mejorando en la lectura e incluso tiene más acceso a libros cuando la esposa del alcalde le ofrece su propia biblioteca personal.

Things become more difficult because of the war and to make matters worse Max, a Jewish boy who was a friend of a former Hangs classmate who saved his life during the first war, arrives at the house, so he feels the need to shelter him, but everything gets complicated when the raids and searches of cellars in the houses begin to determine which ones could be used as shelters during the bombings, so at some point, after so many literary adventures and even giving her a rudimentary book written by him, Max has to leave his only shelter, but when the bombings intensify even more, Liesel again suffers a setback in her life that will make her start all over again.

Las cosas se vuelven más difíciles a causa de la guerra y para colmo a la casa llega Max, un chico judío que fue amigo de un ex compañero de Hangs que durante la primera guerra le salvó la vida, así que él siente la necesidad de cobijarlo, pero todo se complica cuando empiezan las redadas y revisiones de sótanos en las casas para determinar cuales podrían ser usados como refugios durante los bombardeos, de esta forma en algún punto, luego de tantas aventuras literarias y de incluso regalarle un libro rudimentario escrito por él, Max tiene que marcharse de su único refugio, pero cuando los bombardeos se intensifican todavía más, Liesel vuelve a sufrir un revés en su vida que la hará comenzar de nuevo.

My Opinion/Mi Opinión

One of the things I most appreciated in the book was the fact that death was present as a narrator, and in the case of the film it does it in an excellent way, with a subtle and reassuring voice but at the same time deep, it is not present all the time but it lets you know that it is there, that in fact it is the great protagonist when it comes to war, but that it should not always be seen as an enemy, I especially like to hear what she says at the end of the film "I have witnessed the worst destruction in the world, I have also seen the greatest wonders, but I will only say that no one lives forever, finally I came to Liesel full of selfish pleasure because she had spent her 90 years of life wisely".

Una de las cosas que más aprecié del libro fue el hecho de que la muerte estuviese presente como narradora, y en el caso de la película lo hace de una forma excelsa, con una voz sutil y tranquilizadora pero a la vez profunda, no se hace presente todo el tiempo pero te hace saber que está allí, que de hecho es la gran protagonista cuando de guerra se trata, pero que no siempre debe ser vista como una enemiga, sobre todo me agrada escuchar lo que dice al final de la película "He asistido a la peor destrucción del mundo, también he visto las grandes maravillas, pero solo diré que nadie vive para siempre, finalmente llegué a Liesel lleno de placer egoísta porque había pasado sus 90 años de vida sabiamente".

Otro de los aspectos que amé fue la fotografía, los planos están tan bien hechos que hacen que la historia sea inmersiva, la paleta de colores fue hecha a la medida y no abusaron de los filtros oscuros o deslucidos, los usaron en los momentos indicados, como por ejemplo en la escena donde Liesel despierta luego del bombardeo y consigue a los muertos (no daré muchos detalles sobre esto para no hacer spoiler en caso de que no hayan visto la película) pero aquí podemos ver un tono frío, azulado, que nos transmite a la perfección la sensación de abandono y soledad del personaje.

The performances were brilliant as were the costumes and the set, very much in keeping with the timeline they were handling, the same happened with the story, there were no plot or historical errors, I even liked that they took the time to represent at least briefly what was the terrible anti-Semitic progrom known worldwide as "Kristallnacht" or The Night of Broken Glass in English, which was when some members of the Hitler Youth along with the SS wreaked havoc by looting and destroying Jewish stores in 1938.

Las actuaciones estuvieron brillantes al igual que el vestuario y el set, muy acorde con la línea de tiempo que estaban manejando, lo mismo sucedió con la historia, no hubo errores argumentales ni tampoco históricos, incluso me agradó que se tomaran el tiempo de representar al menos brevemente lo que fue el terrible progromo antisemita conocido mundialmente como "Kristallnacht" o La Noche de los Cristales Rotos en inglés, que fue cuando algunos miembros de Las Juventudes Hitlerianas junto con las SS hicieron estragos saqueando y destruyendo tiendas judías en 1938.

In the film this scene is shown in an intelligent way, through crude images while we hear in the background an anti-Semitic hymn sung by children, as a way of showing the enormous indoctrination lived in the time when The Fhürer ruled the Nazi empire, and the serious consequences of this.

En la película esta escena es mostrada de forma inteligente, mediante imágenes crudas mientras escuchamos de fondo un himnno antisemita cantado por niños, como una forma de mostrar el enorme adoctrinamiento vivido en la época en que El Fhürer regía el imperio nazi, y las graves consecuencias de esto.

In short, it is a film with a lot of historical sense, very well narrated, visually beautiful, and with my heart in my hand I can attest that it is a great adaptation, leaving aside only the less relevant details of the book for the most part, I really recommend it. En resumidas cuentas es una película con mucho sentido histórico, muy bien narrada, hermosa visualmente, y con el corazón en la mano puedo dar fe de que es una adaptación estupenda, dejando de lado solo los detalles menos relevantes del libro en su mayoría, de verdad se las recomiendo. ¡Hola mis queridos amigos cinéfilos! Espero estén muy bien, hoy quiero compartirles esta hermosa película la cual considero es una de las más hermosas que he visto. Se trata de "La Ladrona de Libros"la cual fué estrenada en 2014 y está protagonizada por Sophie Nelisse, Nico Liersch, Geoffrey Rush y Emily Watson, espero les guste.

The plot brings us the story of Liesel Meminger, a girl who in times of World War II had to be received by adoptive parents since her mother could not take care of her and her younger brother died. She is greeted by Hans and Rosa Hubbermann, and then meets Rudy Steiner the boy who lives next door to her and falls in love with her. As the days go by Liesel learns to read with the help of her adoptive father and after reading a first book Liesel begins to steal books from the mayor's library to read them and as the mayor's wife finds out, she allows her to take them.

La trama nos trae la historia de Liesel Meminger, una niña que en tiempos de la Segunda Guerra Mundial tuvo que ser recibida por unos padres adoptivos ya que su madre no podía hacerse cargo de ella y su hermano menor falleció. Es recibida por Hans y Rosa Hubbermann, y luego conoce a Rudy Steiner el niño que vive al lado y se enamora de ella. Mientras pasan los días Liesel aprende a leer con ayuda de su padre adoptivo y luego de leer un primer libro Liesel comienza a robar libros de la biblioteca del alcalde para leerlos y como la esposa del alcalde se da cuenta, permite que se los lleve.

What can I say about this movie? We all know that the times of the Second World War were one of the most difficult in the world, but this story manages to be really beautiful. The narrator this time is death which tells us the story of Liesel. It is based on a novel by Markus Zusak which is one of my favorite books as well. The work of the actors is incredible since I would say that the characters are very well developed. I will start talking about Liesel who was played by the actress Sophie Néllisse, I must say that Liesel is one of my favorite characters and that I identify with her a lot, I love her innocence and her passion for books and reading which I share with her. The most adorable characters in history and the ones that hurt me the most when death took them are those of Hans Hubberman, the father of Liesel and Rudy Steiner, I really like Hans's loving personality because while his wife has a very strong character he has a kind character and is a very loving father with Liesel, in fact he is the one who teaches the girl to read.

¿Que puedo decir acerca de esta película? Todos sabemos que los tiempos de la Segunda Guerra Mundial fué una de las más difíciles del mundo, pero esta historia logra ser realmente hermosa. El narrador esta vez es la muerte la cual nos cuenta la historia de Liesel. Está basada en una novela de Markus Zusak la cual es uno de mis libros preferidos también. El trabajo de los actores es increible ya que personajes diría que están muy bien desarrollados. Empezaré hablando de Liesel la cual fué interpretada por la actriz Sophie Néllisse, debo decir que Liesel es uno de mis personajes favoritos y que me identifico mucho con ella, amo su inocencia y su pasión por los libros y la lectura la cual comparto con ella. Los personajes más adorables de la historia y los que más me dolieron cuando la muerte se los llevó son los de Hans Hubberman el padre de Liesel y Rudy Steiner, me gusta mucho la personalidad amorosa de Hans ya que mientras su esposa tiene un carácter muy fuerte el de carácter amable y es un padre muy amoroso con Liesel, de hecho es quien le enseña a la niña a leer.

Rudy on the other hand is a pretty adorable child, of innocent and cheerful personality. She is in love with Liesel and always tries to convince her to give her a kiss to which she refuses, but although she does not want to admit it she is also in love with him, both children become great friends and Rudy defends her from the bully children of the school. I also like Rudy's passion to sport and his admiration for Jesse Owens (which I also admire). Death refers to him as "the child with lemon -colored hair"

Rudy por otro lado es un niño bastante adorable, de personalidad inocente y alegre. Está enamorado de Liesel y siempre intenta convencerla de que le dé un beso a lo cual ella se niega, pero aunque ella no quiera admitirlo también está enamorada de él, ambos niños se vuelven grandes amigos y Rudy la defiende de los niños pesados de la escuela. También me gusta la pasión que tiene Rudy hacía el deporte y su admiración a Jesse Owens (el cual yo también admiro). La muerte se refiere a él como "el niño de cabellos color limón"

Although Rosa shows himself as a woman of bad character and seems not to love the girl, she really is a woman with a very good heart with an immense love made a line, something that I like very much about the movie is humanity and goodness that demonstrates The Hubbermann family when hiding a young Jew named Max whom Liesel takes a lot of love and while Max was sick and slept she was company. She also demonstrated her loyalty to Max by keeping completely silence and I would not share anything about Max nisia even with Rudy, I confess that one of the saddest scenes for me of the movie is when Max leaves the Hubbermann house.

A pesar que Rosa se muestra como una mujer de mal carácter y parece no querer a la niña, realmente es una mujer de muy buen corazón con un inmenso amor hacía Liesel, algo que me gusta mucho de la pelicula es la humanidad y bondad que demuestra la familia Hubbermann al esconder a un joven Judío llamado Max al que Liesel le toma bastante cariño y mientras Max estaba enfermo y dormía ella le hacía compañía. Ella también demostró su lealtad hacía Max al guardar completo silencio y no compartío nada sobre Max nisiquiera con Rudy, confieso que una de las escenas mas tristes para mí de la pelicula es cuando Max se marcha de la casa de los Hubbermann.

The photography of the film is really incredible, as well as the setting and the color palette they used for the film, which is ideal. The plans are really very good. I also really like how they recreated Nazi Germany and the area where the characters live. One of my favorite scenes is where they are in the bomb bunker as Liesel reads for all the people there and they end up having a good time in the midst of so much uncertainty. I would say that the scenes that hurt me the most are the final ones, since an unexpected bombardment during the early morning kills everyone except Liesel, since she slept in the basement of the house. I always cry with those scenes not only in the movie but also in the book and I would say that the only beautiful thing was the kiss between Liesel and Rudy, even though he was dead. I also really liked that after the war Max and Liesel reunite again.

La fotografía de la pelicula es realmente increible, así como la ambientación y la paleta de colores que utilizaron para la pelicula la cual es la ideal. Los planos son realmente muy buenos también me gusta mucho cómo recrearon a la Alemania Nazi y la zona dónde viven los personajes. Una de mis escenas favoritas es en dónde están en el búnker antibombas ya que Liesel lee para todas las personas que están allí y terminan pasando un rato agradable entre tanta incertudumbre. Las escenas que más me dolieron diría que son las finales ya que un bombardeo inesperado durante la madrugada mata a todos menos a Liesel ya que durmió en el sótano de la casa. Siempre lloro con esas escenas no solamente en la pelicula sino también en el libro y diría que lo único hermoso fué el beso de Liesel y Rudy, aunque el estaba muerto. The soundtrack is something that I also liked a lot since not only perfectly accompanies the plot but in my opinion helps the viewer to enter the movie and put a lot of emotion to the plot. All Soundtrack seems to me a really beautiful and quite captivating composition.

El soundtrack es algo que también me gustó mucho ya que no solamente acompaña perfectamente la trama sino que a mi parecer ayuda al espectador a adentrarse en la película y le pone mucha emoción a la trama. Todo el soundtrack me parece una composición realmente hermosa y bastante cautivadora.

Well to finish, I would say that this movie is really worth seeing. It shows us that in difficult times we must have empathy and solidarity towards others and that war only leaves pain, loss and destruction, and that despite the situation that may be happening, we must enjoy time in the company of loved ones. This is a great story that although it is narrated by death itself, it manages to be really beautiful. I would like to recommend it to everyone who has not yet had the opportunity to see it, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Bueno para finalizar, diría que esta pelicula realmente vale la pena verla. Nos demuestra que en tiempos difíciles debemos tener empatía y solidaridad hacía los demás y que la guerra solamente deja dolor, pérdidas y destrucción, y que a pesar de la situación que se pueda estar pasando hay que disfrutar el tiempo en compañía de sus seres queridos, esta es una gran historia que aunque está narrada por la misma muerte logra ser realmente hermosa. Me gustaría recomendársela a todos los que todavía no han tenido la oportunidad de verla, espero la disfruten tanto como yo.
