Bueno, la película de la que les vengo a hablar hoy, The Broken Hearts Gallery, es una especie de museo para estos objetos.
Hello friends! Have you ever kept or keep objects from your past relationships? And I'm not talking about stuffed animals or material things that were given to you, but objects that remind you of a moment, such as movie tickets, the restaurant ticket from your first date, the bottle of a drink that you shared. Well, the movie I'm going to talk about today, The Broken Hearts Gallery, is a kind of museum for these objects.
¿De qué trata? - What is it about?
Lucy trabaja como asistente de una galería, y lo sabe todo en cuanto a museos y artistas, pero su sueño es tener su propia galería de arte. Lucy siempre fue una coleccionista de objetos que se pueden considerar como basura, pero que a ella le recuerdan momentos específicos de sus relaciones pasadas.
Lucy works as a gallery assistant, and knows everything about museums and artists, but her dream is to have her own art gallery. Lucy has always been a collector of objects that can be considered junk, but which remind her of specific moments in her past relationships.
Una noche descubre que su pareja actual le está siendo infiel y sale corriendo del lugar, pide un Uber y se sube en un auto que piensa que es del conductor que contacto. Pero no es así, termina subida en el auto de un desconocido llamado Nick que intenta explicarle de mil maneras posibles que se equivocó. Ahí Lucy le empieza a contar la noche terrible que tuvo y el engaño que descubrió, así que Nick se apiada de la joven y la lleva a la dirección que le indico que corresponde al departamento que comparte con sus amigas.
One night she discovers that her current partner is being unfaithful and runs out of the place, asks for an Uber and gets into a car that she thinks belongs to the driver she contacted. But it's not, she ends up in the car of a stranger named Nick who tries to explain to her in every possible way that she was wrong. There Lucy begins to tell him about the terrible night she had and the deception she discovered, so Nick takes pity on the young woman and takes her to the address that corresponds to the apartment she shares with her friends.
Más adelante Lucy y Nick se vuelven a encontrar en otro episodio confuso y allí él la invita a conocer su casi hotel. Nick sueña con tener su propio hotel, pero hay problemas financieros a la vista que lo están retrasando y amenazan con destruir su sueño. Sin embargo, Lucy tiene una idea fantástica y tras compartirla con Nick, o algo parecido, decide que es el lugar perfecto para hacer un museo de los corazones rotos para que las personas depositen aquellos objetos que hayan guardado de sus relaciones pasadas.
Later Lucy and Nick meet again in another confusing episode and there he invites her to see his quasi-hotel. Nick dreams of owning his own hotel, but there are financial problems in sight that are holding him back and threatening to destroy his dream. However, Lucy has a fantastic idea and after sharing it with Nick, or something like it, she decides that it is the perfect place to make a museum of broken hearts for people to deposit those objects they have kept from their past relationships.
Así, poco a poco, el lugar comienza a tomar forma y ambos están por cumplir sus deseos. Sin embrago, otros problemas se avecinan, y dependerá de ellos hacerles frente y salir victoriosos sin descuidar sus corazones en el camino.
So, little by little, the place begins to take shape and both are about to fulfill their desires. However, other problems lie ahead, and it will be up to them to face them and emerge victorious without neglecting their hearts along the way.
Opinión - Opinion
Por lo general, cuando alguien empieza una relación amorosa no se pone a pensar en cuándo llegará a su fin, o bueno, depende la persona. Lo que sucede con Lucy parece ser esto, tiene la necesidad de guardar estos objetos porque así es más fácil asociarlos a las personas que formaron parte de su vida y recrear sus recuerdos cuando ya no estén. Para las personas que se apoyan mucho en su mente, como yo, no necesitamos estás muestras porque queda todo grabado allí, cada mínimo detalle. Pero, no nos ponemos a pensar en que quizá en algún momento nuestra mente falle. Ese es el miedo real de Lucy y en la película hay una razón bastante importante por la que piensa de esta manera. No sé las voy a compartir para que ustedes puedan verla si así lo desean.
Usually when someone starts a love relationship they don't think about when it will come to an end, or well, it depends on the person. What happens with Lucy seems to be this, she has the need to keep these objects because it is easier to associate them with the people who were part of her life and recreate her memories when they are gone. For people who rely a lot on their mind, like me, we don't need these samples because everything is recorded there, every little detail. But, we don't think about the fact that maybe at some point our mind will fail. That's Lucy's real fear and in the movie there is a pretty important reason why she thinks this way. I don't know, I'm going to share it with you so you can watch it if you wish.
Les cuento esto porque al principio de la película, antes de llegar a este hecho importante, creía que era un poco tonto de parte de la protagonista guardar estos objetos que no hacían más que ocupar espacio, realmente algunas eran cosas ridículas. Hasta sus amigas le decían que debería deshacerse de ellas y Nick la llamaba acumuladora. Después de comprender la razón, se entiende mejor su actuar y uno empatiza más con ella. Eso demuestra la importancia de no prejuzgar al otro hasta conocer lo que hay detrás de alguna acción o conducta.
I tell you this because at the beginning of the movie, before getting to this important fact, I thought it was a bit silly of the protagonist to keep these objects that did nothing but take up space, really some of them were ridiculous things. Even her friends told her that she should get rid of them and Nick called her a hoarder. After understanding the reason, one understands her actions better and empathizes more with her. That shows the importance of not prejudging the other until you know what is behind some action or behavior.
Ahora bien, aclarado esto, la película como tal trata un poco de todo, creo que puede contentar a un buen número de personas. Tiene un toque de humor muy bueno, de ese que te puede hacer largar una carcajada de la nada, incluso en los momentos dramáticos. La historia romántica es bastante linda, me gusto ver el desarrollo lento que tuvo. Creo que el actor masculino es muy expresivo en cuanto a gestos, aunque me faltó un poco de química entre los dos. Pero casi no lo noté y me concentré más en el trasfondo de la película, que más allá de ser una romcom tiene elementos que te hacen pensar en la vida.
Now, having said that, the film as such is a bit of everything, I think it can satisfy a good number of people. It has a very good touch of humor, the kind that can make you laugh out of nowhere, even in the dramatic moments. The romantic story is quite nice, I liked to see the slow development it had. I think the male actor is very expressive in terms of gestures, although I missed a bit of chemistry between the two of them. But I almost didn't notice it and I concentrated more on the background of the movie, which beyond being a romcom has elements that make you think about life.
Fue un buen hallazgo, pasé un rato agradable viéndola y me generó una linda sensación al terminarla. El giro de trama hacía el final entibió mi corazón, fue lo esperado pero aún así me sentí sorprendida, no sé si tiene mucho sentido esto que estoy diciendo. Además, tiene varios personajes secundarios que aportan humor a la historia, creo que eso ayudó a hacerla bastante entretenida. Así que risas no les van a faltar.
It was a good find, I had a nice time watching it and it gave me a nice feeling when I finished it. The plot twist towards the end warmed my heart, it was expected but I still felt surprised, I don't know if it makes a lot of sense what I'm saying. Also, it has several secondary characters that bring humor to the story, I think that helped to make it quite entertaining. So you won't be short of laughs.
Mantuvo un buen ritmo durante todo el tiempo, no hubo momentos lentos, ni muy rápidos. Todo pasó a su debido tiempo. Se pudo apreciar la consolidación de la relación entre los personajes y lo que más noté es el crecimiento de Lucy. Su evolución y confianza fue notoria. Me agrada cuando muestran estos procesos internos porque parece que no está sucediendo nada con los personajes, pero no es así.
He kept a good pace throughout, there were no slow moments, nor very fast ones. Everything happened in its own time. You could appreciate the consolidation of the relationship between the characters and what I noticed the most is Lucy's growth. Her evolution and confidence was noticeable. I like it when they show these internal processes because it seems that nothing is happening with the characters, but it is not so.
En definitiva es una linda película para mirar, es fresca, divertida, tiene un buen trasfondo, los personajes son seres con los que se pueden identificar fácilmente. No es wow, la película del siglo, pero a mí me gustó mucho. Es genial para cuando no saben qué ver y quieren algo ligero pero con sentido. Además es la típica película reconfortante. Así que está más que recomendada por mi parte. La pueden encontrar en la plataforma de Prime Video.
All in all it's a nice movie to watch, it's fresh, it's funny, it has a good background, the characters are beings you can easily identify with. It's not wow, the movie of the century, but I liked it a lot. It's great for when you don't know what to watch and want something light but meaningful. Plus it's the typical heartwarming movie. So it's more than recommended by me. You can find it on the Prime Video platform.
