   This would be the first movie I've seen in the same month it was released and it actually made the experience feel different for me. I almost never see a movie until it's been months or even a year and more before I see it, maybe I don't like going along with the majority to see the movie so I don't fall for too much hype and get my heart broken by what happens in the movie 😅 or maybe I just don't want to see it until I want to, that counts I guess.

   I've read a lot of reviews about this movie here in the movies community and I guessed that the hype may just be too much but I went ahead to have it downloaded, why? That is because I saw that the main character is one of my favourite artist (actress), Jennifer Lopez.

   If there's a movie that gave me an unexpected storyline from it's title, it would be this movie "The Mother" and I think I enjoyed the movie more because the lead is a character I love and familiarise with a lot when I see her in movies. Even with some reviews I read, I didn't expect the way the storyline of the movie went... It was absolutely a movie with an uncommon love of a mother and I found it so intriguing.

   The Mother is about an assassin (Jennifer Lopez) who works is on the run from people she betrayed and had to live away from her daughter. She goes back to protect her daughter when she saw that the daughter was in danger and the story goes on from her rescue process to whether she saved her daughter and herself. The movie showed a lot of irregular scenes, shocking aspects I didn't want to happen and all that made it a thrilling one to see.

   Jennifer Lopez's action moves in the movie were good, I read in a few reviews that another female lead would have done this aspect better than her but I think she did well enough to give her kudos on this one. She had the mother face, showed the right emotions through her actions and the scenes with her fighting had me glued, maybe I'm biased because she's a favourite to me but I've also read a few more reviews where she is a good stunt and action packed female actress with this movie she starred in.

   William Cruise, one of the character in the movie who happened to be the one in charge of watching over the mother's daughter. He is a character I admired in the movie but I was so unsatisfied with how things went on his own role in the movie. I can't share so it doesn't appear as a spoiler for anyone who's yet to see it but with or without this part in the movie, I'd have still enjoyed it.

   Zoe, the mother's daughter gave me a mixed feeling with her role. I know she's only acting but I got annoyed with her at some point and praised her at some point, I guess that is a feeling not even close to what some mothers feel when a child keeps acting out of character to the loss of others. She went from the annoying little girl to a sweet daughter for me, that's a good addition to the movie for me.

   The other characters weren't of so memorable to me but they all played their role well enough to make me have a good time seeing the movie. I'm not an action movie lover but I enjoyed this movie and the actions in it.

   Here is a trailer of the movie, it was a highly recommended movie to me and I'll also love to recommend to whoever enjoys action movies and the touch of family love and protection.    Hola mis queridos lectores de Hive y amantes del mundo cinematográfico ❤️ Hoy les quiero compartir una recomendación de una recomendación que me hicieron...aunque suene raro 😅 , una amiga de mi mamá le recomendó un día que viera esta película, sobre todo por la participación protagónica de Jennifer López en una historia conmovedora envuelta en una gran persecución, que combina géneros de acción, thriller, suspenso con la pasión, valentía y fortaleza de una madre al defender a su hija contra todos los que deseen hacerle daño.

   

   Creo que para aquellos que vamos con una recomendación a ver una película, en especial si somos un poco indecisos, se nos hace mas fácil disfrutar mas rápido un film, o por lo menos así es mi caso 😅, y ya a medida que la vemos, según nuestro gusto, queda de nuestra parte darle una oportunidad, para terminarla o dejarla. Aunque si esta recomendación viene con una actriz principal muy reconocida, deja el listón muy alto y las mejores expectativas para verla, y como dije antes, contiene varios géneros que podría ser del agrado de todo tipo de publico.

   

   La verdad que fue muy emocionante y a la vez conmovedor ver a una mujer que lucha por el bienestar de su hija, en un mundo de persecución y venganza, en donde se vera obligada a sacrificar ese privilegio de ser madre, con el único fin de protegerla. Al principio reconozco que este tema de la mafia no me atrae demasiado, pero cuando esto va acompañado de una historia u origen detrás, me pareció muy atractivo e interesante para el espectador por saber el final y que futuro le deparara a esta madre y su hija.

   

   Además de la actuación de Jennifer López, tengo que destacar la actuación de la niña, sobre todo en las escenas de acción y persecución, un poco exagerado en algunas partes pero, al final si lo imaginamos, para una niña de su edad no es nada fácil realizar maniobras como huir de un tiroteo, saltar a una moto en movimiento, manipular armas y conducir una camioneta en la nieve, sin embargo creo que logro captar la atención al ser muy buena su interpretación.

   En mi opinión, la historia te atrapa de principio a fin, vemos al inicio como una mujer que parece estar dando su declaración a la policía, sospechosamente esta es perseguida y trata de advertirles pero justo en ese momento empieza un enfrentamiento que termina con casi todos muertos a excepción de ella y unos de los policías, mas tarde, durante un gran suspenso por salvarse, aparece el jefe de toda la organización, quien al parecer guarda un pasado en común y busca vengarse al tratar de asesinarla o hacerle daño, con lo mas preciado de una mujer...su hijo, al darse cuenta que esta embarazada. Mas tarde, al encontrarse herida en un cuarto de hospital y preocupada por la salud de su hija, las autoridades le aconsejan separarse de ella por su protección y darla en adopción con una familia que la mantendrá a salvo y segura, algo que ella de momento y con su ex asechándola no se lo pude dar. Esto hará que ella comience una vida alejada de todo y todos sobre todo de su hija para no ponerla en peligro, sin embargo, ella se las arregla para estar al tanto de su vida, aunque sea desde la distancia. Pero un acontecimiento inesperado le hará cambiar los planes, salir de las sombras y volver a usar todas las tácticas que aprendió en el ejercito para salvarla, poniendo en riesgo que su secreto quede al descubierto.

   

   Esta película original de la plataforma Netflix es nueva, recién estrenada este año 2023, y creo que como propuesta y un plan para disfrutar un fin de semana viene súper bien. Mi puntuación final para esta película sería un 9 de 10 porque soy bastante fan de la actriz y también quede muy impresionada con la actuación de su hija Lucy Paez, verla en un papel de madre pasándole toda su experiencia y sabiduría de supervivencia, en una locación invernal aislada y remota pero a la vez muy hermosa, todo por verla feliz aunque sea no sea junto a ella me llego al corazón, y llegas a entender, sentir y vivir lo que transmite y es estar en su papel. Aquí les comparto el tráiler para que la disfruten y se animen a verla si es que aún no lo han hecho.. y ya luego me cuentan que tal les pareció 😸.

Although if this recommendation comes with a very recognized main actress, it leaves the bar very high and the best expectations to see it, and as I said before, it contains several genres that could be liked by all types of audiences.

   

   The truth is that it was very exciting and at the same time moving to see a woman who fights for the welfare of her daughter, in a world of persecution and revenge, where she will be forced to sacrifice the privilege of being a mother, with the sole purpose of protecting her. At first I admit that this theme of the mafia does not attract me too much, but when this is accompanied by a story or origin behind, I found it very attractive and interesting for the viewer to know the end and what the future holds for this mother and her daughter.

   

   In addition to the performance of Jennifer Lopez, I have to highlight the performance of the girl, especially in the action and chase scenes, a little exaggerated in some parts but, in the end if we imagine it, for a girl of her age it is not easy to perform maneuvers like running away from a shooting, jump on a moving motorcycle, handling weapons and driving a truck in the snow, however I think she managed to capture the attention by being very good in her interpretation.

   In my opinion, the story grabs you from beginning to end, we see at the beginning as a woman who seems to be giving her statement to the police, suspiciously this is pursued and tries to warn them but just at that moment begins a confrontation that ends with almost everyone dead except for her and some of the police, later, during a great suspense to save himself, the head of the entire organization appears, who apparently has a common past and seeks revenge by trying to kill her or hurt her, with the most precious of a woman. ...her child, when he realizes that she is pregnant. Later, when she finds herself injured in a hospital room and worried about her daughter's health, the authorities advise her to separate from her for her protection and give her up for adoption to a family that will keep her safe and secure, something she is unable to do at the moment and with her ex stalking her. This will make her start a life away from everything and everyone, especially from her daughter so as not to put her in danger, however, she manages to keep up with her life, even if it is from a distance. But an unexpected event will make her change her plans, come out of the shadows and use again all the tactics she learned in the army to save her, risking that her secret will be exposed.

   

   This Netflix original movie is new, just released this year 2023, and I think as a proposal and a plan to enjoy a weekend comes super well. My final score for this film would be a 9 out of 10 because I am quite a fan of the actress and I was also very impressed with the performance of her daughter Lucy Paez, seeing her in the role of mother passing on all her experience and wisdom of survival, in an isolated and remote winter location but at the same time very beautiful, all to see her happy even if it is not with her, it touched my heart, and you get to understand, feel and live what she transmits and is to be in her role.    The Mother es de esas películas que por una extraña razón estaba renuente a ver y todo porque con solo ver el tráiler se puede deducir de que va la historia, no es muy complicada la verdad. Pero luego pensé que eso sería caer en el error del que muchas veces critico y es que para hacerse con una opinión lo mejor que podemos hacer es ver el producto y ya está. De buenas a primera la trama es muy similar, bastante diría yo, a producciones conocidas tales como "Taken o Busqueda Implacable" de Liam Neeson o hasta "Hanna" una película del 2011 cuya historia la hicieron una serie que pueden ver en Prime Video, muy buena por cierto. Esto no quiere decir que este film sea malo pero si predecible.

   The Mother is one of those movies that for a strange reason I was reluctant to see and all because just by watching the trailer you can deduce what the story is about, it's not very complicated really. But then I thought that that would be falling into the mistake that I often criticize and that is that to get an opinion the best thing to do is to see the product and that's it. At first glance the plot is very similar, quite similar I would say, to known productions such as "Taken or Relentless Pursuit" of Liam Neeson or even "Hanna" a 2011 film whose story was made into a series that can be seen on Prime Video, very good indeed. This is not to say that this film is bad but it is predictable.

   Otras de las razones por las que finalmente me decidí a echarle un ojo fue por el cast o elenco que forma parte, uno que tiene actores bastante conocidos como Gael García Bernal, Joseph Fiennes, quien es el famoso comandante Waterford en la increíble serie "The Handmaid Tale" y bueno la propia Jennifer López. Un buen grupo de actores puede que haga la diferencia dentro de una trama pero la verdad no se si en esta oportunidad fue al caso ya que siento que todo fue muy superficial y muy de primera capa solamente. Aún así la historia llena de acción está, a pesar de lo predecible no es un film que aburre ya que el objetivo es ese, entretener con las persecuciones y disparos. Pero bueno, sin más hablemos un poco más a profundidad de lo que es lo nuevo de Netflix.

   Another reason why I finally decided to take a look at it was because of the cast, one that has well known actors such as Gael Garcia Bernal, Joseph Fiennes, who is the famous Commander Waterford in the incredible series "The Handmaid Tale" and well Jennifer Lopez herself. A good group of actors can make a difference in a plot but I don't know if this time it was the case because I feel that everything was very superficial and very first layer only. Even so, the action-packed story is, despite the predictable, not a film that bores since the objective is that, to entertain with the chases and shootings.    Esta historia como es obvio involucra a La Madre, la llamo así porque no se le conoce nombre o por lo menos no recuerdo que lo hayan dicho, interpretada por Jennifer López quien es una ex combatiente del ejercito a la que le tocó irse por unos caminos un tanto peligrosos. Es de las mejores en lo que hace, de ahí a que inevitablemente terminase involucrada con personas peligrosas. Como es de esperarse esas relaciones nunca terminan bien por lo que al final termina siendo perseguida por dichos hombres obligándola a huir, a esconderse y a dejar atrás a la cosa más preciada y valiosa de su vida. Aquello no fue fácil pero era estrictamente necesario dadas las condiciones.

   This story obviously involves The Mother, I call her that because her name is unknown or at least I don't remember it being said, played by Jennifer Lopez who is a former army combatant who had to go down some dangerous paths. She's one of the best at what she does, hence why she inevitably ends up involved with dangerous people. As expected, these relationships never end well so she ends up being chased by these men forcing her to flee, to hide and to leave behind the most precious and valuable thing in her life. That was not easy but it was strictly necessary given the conditions.

   Que pasa? - pues que a ella se le prometió que su hija estaría siempre a salvo, no fue así. Es acá cuando nuestra mamá sale a luz de nuevo para recuperar a su hija y para hacerle frente a los enemigos que por tantos años han estado al acecho creando miedo e incertidumbre en la vida de esta mujer. Es en este punto cuando la película comienza su avance y nos llena de escenas de acción, de tensión, de persecuciones pero también veremos como con las circunstancias adversas esa relación madre/hija se empieza a construir sobre las bases de la supervivencia. Como dije es un film de acción en el que veremos a una JLO en un papel que por lo menos yo no la había visto, saltando carros, matando gente, peleas cuerpo a cuerpo, en fin, una mujer demás despiadada.

   What happened? - Well, she was promised that her daughter would always be safe, but she was not. It is here when our mom comes to light again to recover her daughter and to face the enemies that for so many years have been lurking around creating fear and uncertainty in the life of this woman. It is at this point that the film begins to move forward and fills us with scenes of action, tension, chases, but we will also see how with the adverse circumstances that mother/daughter relationship begins to build on the foundations of survival. As I said it is an action film in which we will see a JLO in a role that at least I had not seen her, jumping cars, killing people, body to body fights, in short, a ruthless woman.

   

   Vamos a comenzar por la historia en si. En lo personal me pareció muy poco profunda, está bien que sea una película de acción pero a veces tener un poco más de contexto de las cosas hace que uno como espectador logre conectar mejor con lo que se nos está contando y estamos viendo. Habían cosas que pasaban porque si y ya, como que se daban por sentado y es ahí donde uno queda un poco en el aire; la idea no es explicar todo con el mínimo de detalles pero repito, tener más conocimientos de algunas cosas hubiera estado bien. Esto no le quita que la película no se entienda, al contrario, es una que se puede ver sin problemas pero si ustedes son de esos que les gusta saber un poco más y empaparse mejor de las historias pues esta no es el caso.

   Let's start with the story itself. Personally I found it very shallow, it's good that it's an action movie but sometimes having a little more context of things makes you as a viewer to connect better with what we are being told and what we are seeing. There were things that happened just for the sake of it, as if they were taken for granted and that's where one is left a little in the air; the idea is not to explain everything with the minimum of details but I repeat, having more knowledge of some things would have been nice. This does not mean that the film is not understandable, on the contrary, it is one that can be seen without problems but if you are one of those who like to know a little more and soak up the stories better, this is not the case.

   En cuanto a todo lo relacionado con las escenas de acción hay que decir que estuvieron buenas, entretenidas, no vi algo que uno diga que sea imposible de hacer por un ser humano. Esta madre es una mujer altamente entrenada capaz de lidiar con cualquier tipo de amenaza y eso lo deja bastante claro, de hecho desde el mismo comienzo de la película lo podemos notar. Hay una buena persecución a través de las calles de un conocido país caribeño que honestamente me gustó mucho porque se da tanto a pie como en moto, carro; de verdad que poco que decir de esas grandes escenas, no son las más top que van a ver pero teniendo en cuenta la película que es creo que están aceptables.

   As for everything related to the action scenes, I must say that they were good, entertaining, I did not see anything that one would say is impossible for a human being to do. This mother is a highly trained woman capable of dealing with any kind of threat and she makes that quite clear, in fact from the very beginning of the movie we can notice it. There is a good chase through the streets of a well known Caribbean country that I honestly liked a lot because it takes place both on foot and on motorcycle, car; really little to say about these great scenes, they are not the top ones you are going to see but considering the film that is I think they are acceptable.

   El film yo lo divido en tres: el contexto, la preparación y el final. Cada uno de diferente intensidad. La película empieza un poco arriba, te enganchas y entiendes de que va todo y de lo que esta madre es capaz; en la segunda parte hay como un bajón en donde veremos la parte personal y emocional y en como esa relación se va construyendo, veremos como una niña de 12 años se comienza a preparar para lo que viene como para la vida misma, así lo vi yo. Y en la última parte pues es el cierre de la carpeta, somos testigos del final de una historia que venía atormentando a esta mujer por años. Tengo que decir que el final me pareció un poco frio, esperaba más contundencia, creo que todo fue muy rápido y impersonal cuando debía de ser lo contrario.

   I divide the film into three parts: the context, the preparation and the ending. Each one of different intensity. The film starts a little high, you get hooked and you understand what it's all about and what this mother is capable of; in the second part there is a downturn where we will see the personal and emotional part and how this relationship is being built, we will see how a 12 year old girl begins to prepare for what is coming as for life itself, that's how I saw it. And in the last part is the closing of the portfolio, we witness the end of a story that had been tormenting this woman for years. I have to say that the ending seemed a bit cold to me, I expected more forcefulness, I think everything was very fast and impersonal when it should have been the opposite.

   Jennifer López me gustó, para mi no es la mejor actriz, creo que se le da mucho mejor cantar y bailar pero es un papel que no es fácil de interpretar por todo lo que físicamente supone, verla hacer todo lo que hace denota una preparación por parte de ella para que todo dentro de lo aceptable se viera lo más fluido posible. Es ruda cuando tiene que serlo, es dulce, es sentimental, a ver, no lo hace mal pero tampoco es algo para irse muy arriba. Está decente, punto. Por los demás pues la hija interpretada por Lucy Páez es literalmente una niña, la típica niña/adolescente problemática y confundida. Y los dos otros personajes, Gael y Joseph pues para mi quedaron a deber, muy pocos de ellos, me hubiese gustado ver un poco más desarrollados sus personajes.

   I liked Jennifer Lopez, for me she is not the best actress, I think she is much better at singing and dancing but it is a role that is not easy to play because of everything physically involved, seeing her do everything she does denotes a preparation on her part so that everything within the acceptable would look as smooth as possible. She's tough when she has to be, she's sweet, she's sentimental, she's not bad, but it's not something to get too excited about. She's decent, period. As for the rest, the daughter played by Lucy Paez is literally a child, the typical troubled and confused girl/teenager. And the two other characters, Gael and Joseph, for me they were left to owe, very few of them, I would have liked to see their characters a little more developed.

   Le doy un 6.5/10 porque valoro lo de JLO ya que puede ser un 6/10 sin problemas. No es una película que te va aburrir, sabes que va a pasar porque es muy predecible y no hay mucho de ese factor sorpresa pero al final es entretenida y para pasar el tiempo vale. Te la recomiendo si no tienes nada que ver, como fue mi caso. Tiene una duración de un poco menos de 2 horas y la puedes encontrar en Netflix. Te dejo el tráiler para que lo veas.

   I give it a 6.5/10 because I value JLO because it can be a 6/10 without problems. It's not a movie that's going to bore you, you know what's going to happen because it's very predictable and there's not much of that surprise factor but in the end it's entertaining and to pass the time it's worth it. I recommend it if you have nothing to watch, as was my case. It has a duration of a little less than 2 hours and you can find it on Netflix. I leave the trailer for you to see it.

   In recent days, in my Netflix account have advertised a series of movies that have caught my attention, each of them have received good reviews, comments and above all I have read good reviews of them, many are loaded with lots of action, adventure and beyond that leave a great message that makes us reflect and think, as any of us could go through a similar situation to some of its plots. So this time I decided to see a film where you can see how anguish, desperation and fear come together in such a tragic and at the same time very worrying way when the life of a child is in danger and it is here where it shows us what things a mother is willing and how far a mother can go to defend and protect her child.

   A production known as The Mother, released a few days ago. Where we are immersed in a story of crime, war, conflict, arms trafficking and above all how each of the people who are there must cover their backs, because a wrong move can cause a major disaster in that kind of environment. The mother will have to fight until the last second and not give up until she has her daughter safe, going through many challenges and adventures that will make us think, however, it has scenes with some details that are a little exaggerated, I think that for this production to become a success and capture the attention of the public.

   En los últimos días, en mi cuenta de Netflix han publicitado una serie de películas que me han llamado mucho la atención, cada una de ellas han recibido buenas críticas, cometarios y sobre todo he leído buenas reseñas de las mismas, muchas están cargadas de mucha acción, aventuras y más allá de eso dejan un gran mensaje que nos hace reflexionar y pensar, ya que alguno de nosotros podría pasar por una situación parecida a alguna de sus tramas. Así que estaba vez decidí ver una película donde se nota como la angustia, la desesperación y el miedo se unen de manera tan trágica y a la vez muy preocupante cuando está en peligro la vida de un hijo y es aquí donde nos muestra que cosas está dispuesta y hasta dónde puede llegar una madre por defender y proteger a su hijo.

   Una producción conocida como The Mother, estrenada hace unos días. Donde nos sumergimos en una historia de crimen, guerra, conflictos, tráfico de armas y sobre todo como cada una de las personas que están allí deben cubrirse la espalada, ya que un mal movimiento puede ocasionar un gran desastre en ese tipo de ambiente. La madre tendrá que luchar hasta el último segundo y no rendirse hasta tener a salvo a su hija, pasando por muchos desafíos y aventuras que nos hará pensar, sin embargo, cuenta con escenas con algunos detalles que son un poco exagerados, pienso que para que esta producción se convirtiera en un éxito y captara la atención del público.

   También hay varias escenas que son algo exagerada, como el caso donde la protagonista carga y corre con un arma de fuego sabiendo que eso es pesado, así como también el cambio de países donde se van desarrollando la película, en unas escenas están en un lugar y de repente cambian siendo algo impactante, como es el caso cuando la vida de la hija está en peligro. Más allá de una película de acción donde una madre y una hija corren peligro, no siempre las cosas pueden salir del todo bien, por eso el trabajo en equipo siempre será mejor que estar solo, para así forjar una gran relación y ser invencibles.

   Opinión Personal

   No soy fan de Jennifer López, pero considero que es una excelente actriz y su actuación estuvo excelente en la Película The Mother, a mi parecer las Películas de acción le quedan muy bien, hace tiempo tuve la oportunidad de ver Nunca más, y me pareció muy buena, eso sí con una trama algo similar, en el caso de The Mother no será la mejor, y quizás con un argumento ya repetido, pero es entretenida y puedes disfrutar un domingo viéndola, pero ojo es una película para adulto y no es que hay escenas de sexo, sino que hay mucha violencia, sobre todo cuando matan a la tarántula, quizás le falto un poco más de dificultad a la hora de rescatar a Zoe, para que se viera más creíble, pero bueno, ahora vuelve como una asesina a sueldo, protegiendo a su hija, como una loba.

   Esta película conto con una serie de actores de calidad como mi Papachongo Omari Hardwick, lástima que lo sacan de acción, me hubiese gustado que quedase con Mother ósea Jennifer López, así como la actuación de Gael García y Joseph Fiennes, en cuanto a Lucy Páez muy linda y tierna quien defendió su personaje y defendió a su madre, muy emotivo el momento.

   No me pareció que Jennifer López, quien defendió con uñas y garras la producción no haya tenido un nombre sino Mother, me pareció muy absurdo, debieron darle un nombre, siendo una agente especial se infiltro con los malos a fin de desarticular una banda de corrupción, teniendo que pagar un precio muy alto que fue alejarse de su hija, pasando de tema definitivamente me encantaron los paisajes cubiertos de nieves.

   Aunque no estoy de acuerdo con la violencia, ni mucho menos que los niños usen armas, pienso que en este caso era necesario, ya que dependía su vida y teniendo a una experta en tiro, porque no aprender defensa personal y supervivencia.

   En cuanto a su banda sonora puedo decir que me gustaron canciones como Mala Mía de Maluma, 4/EM de Grimes y This woman work de Kate Bush entre otras.

   ¡Prosigo! Pasan 12 años (no sé cómo ocurrió), la niña crece y luego es secuestrada. La madre comienza a pelear, a disparar y a actuar contra matones que no parecen serlo. Tengo marcado en mi mente una posición que viene de mis días de estudiante: existe criminalidad porque el Estado hacen caso omiso a ella. ¿Acaso la capacidad de respuesta del FBI fue precaria? Esto lo debe constatar si ve esta producción.

   Causa mucho atractivo visual como Jennifer López alias la madre se refugia en Alaska mientras que su hija crece, y luego cuando esta es secuestrada vuelve con ella a este lugar. Zoe es una niña cálida, hermosa y con un espíritu libre que comprende al final que las acciones están por encima de las palabras que se visten con falsedad.

   Antes de comenzar a hablar sobre la película voy a aclarar que soy admiradora de Jennifer López o JLo, ¿por qué no?, la cantante es toda una diva, a la que no le importa las opiniones de la gente. Además en su película "Nunca más" es una diosa para las mujeres que alguna vez pasamos momentos complicados, creo que un referente para defendernos.

   Sobre ella puedo decir que la verdad es que es admirable que a su edad sea tan hermosa, activa, exitosa y que además le exija a "Batman" hacer el amor las veces que le dé la gana, (esto es chistoso), por lo tanto quise ver esta película, además de ver un tráiler llamativo.

   Ahora bien, la película "The mother" es un film de acción, así que debemos prepararnos para ver algunos golpes y saltos, si bien no tiene un despliegue de efectos, me parece que lograron la idea inicial. Querían a una mujer en acción que tuviese como prioridad defender a su criatura, a su hija, y lo lograron.

   Desde mi punto de vista, lo más impactante fue el momento de verla embarazada, tan hermosa y que en esa situación dura fue atacada de forma mortal. Creo que toda mujer sintió un profundo dolor al ver eso, aunque sabemos que es una actuación.

   Los hechos se desatan luego desprenderse de su bebé solo al nacer, lo cual nos deja como un impacto e intriga de saber que sucederá. De allí los hechos que nos atraparán frente a la pantalla durante los minutos de la película.

   En las escenas hay un poco de todo, acción, asesinatos, tristeza, y mucho coraje. Quizá las explicaciones de las razones que inician todo no están muy bien esclarecidas en cuanto a que es en realidad el personaje principal, un ex combatiente o una asesina. Pero sin importar esto, me convence el argumento general.

   Before I start talking about the movie I will clarify that I am a fan of Jennifer Lopez or JLo, why not, the singer is a diva, who does not care about people's opinions. Also in her movie "Nunca más" she is a goddess for women who have gone through complicated moments, I think she is a reference to defend us.

   About her I can say that the truth is that it is admirable that at her age she is so beautiful, active, successful and also demands "Batman" to make love as many times as he wants, (this is funny), so I wanted to see this movie, besides seeing a striking trailer.

   Now, the movie "The mother" is an action film, so we should be prepared to see some bumps and jumps, although it does not have a display of effects, it seems to me that they achieved the initial idea. They wanted a woman in action whose priority was to defend her child, her daughter, and they did it.

   From my point of view, the most shocking thing was the moment of seeing her pregnant, so beautiful and in that tough situation she was attacked in a deadly way. I think every woman felt a deep pain when she saw that, although we know it is an act.

   The facts are unleashed after detaching from her baby only at birth, which leaves us as an impact and intrigue to know what will happen. Hence the events that will trap us in front of the screen for minutes of the film.

   In the scenes there is a little bit of everything, action, murder, sadness, and a lot of courage. Perhaps the explanations of the reasons that start everything are not very well clarified as to who is really the main character, an ex-combatant or a murderer. But regardless, I'm convinced by the overall plot.

   

   Por otra parte, Jennifer López luce más fuerte que nunca, es impresionante su contextura física, junto a ella la niña que interpreta a su hija es sumamente hermosa e inocente a la vista, y creo que realizó un excelente trabajo en su papel.

   En la película hay un toque de metáfora al comparar el amor de las madre a sus hijos con el mismísimo amor de una loba con sus cachorros, esto es realmente así, a veces he visto en las redes atrocidades contra los niños y sinceramente como madre o padre creo que esos seres que hacen esos actos merecen el peor castigo.

   ¿Defenderemos a nuestros hijos con todo?

   Sí. Y si tuviese la habilidad de apuntar y disparar o quizá empuñar un arma blanca también lo haría, no sabemos realmente lo que somos capaces hasta que le quieren daño a lo que más amamos.

   El final es lindo, tiene su toque de cariño y empatía por la vida. En general me parece una buena película a pesar de que no me la recomendaron de la mejor forma. Para mí, le colocaría como 8☆ en resumen.

   On the other hand, Jennifer Lopez looks stronger than ever, her physical build is impressive, next to her the girl who plays her daughter is extremely beautiful and innocent to look at, and I think she did an excellent job in her role.

   It's Mother's Day week and Netflix delights its viewers with a captivating action thriller titled The Mother (2023) featuring the iconic Jennifer Lopez as the main cast and an ex-spy! I'm surprised but also fascinated —I must watch it. Even if it's not a new role for the lovely actress, I still would have watched the film.

   In this new release, JLo plays an ex-special forces officer who is skilled in guns, knives and unarmed combat, and becomes an unnamed FBI informant. She's in a safe house undergoing interrogation from egotistic FBI agents who think they have the situation under control. JLo warns that they are not safe as either of her former lovers, Héctor Álvarez and Adrian Lovell may attack them because she betrayed them to the FBI.

   Within minutes, bullets pierce through the windows killing the agents except her handler, Cruise (played by Omari Hardwick). JLo prepares a makeshift bomb when Adrian Lovell, a former marine officer, appears and attempts to kill her. He slashes her around the stomach area, revealing she's pregnant. The bomb explodes in Adrian's face while JLo and Cruise escape.

   JLo gives birth to a baby girl at a hospital and is forced by the FBI to sign away her parental rights so the child is adopted into a loving family to keep her safe. Despite the effort to keep her daughter safe in anonymity, the girl becomes a target for JLo's old enemies.

   JLo comes out of hiding. Will she succeed in saving her innocent girl from the murderous duo? What boundaries will she cross to protect her daughter?

   Review

   The Mother is an action-packed thriller that explores a mother's ability to love her child and make the ultimate sacrifice for her. This mother is unlike most soft and emphasising mothers, she's dangerous and deadly serious with a killer instinct.

   

   

   

   

   The plot of this film is good and follows the routine of the average action crime thriller. The difference here is the iconic actress, Jennifer Lopez as a deadly ex-spy. Many viewers had doubts about her performance in an action role because we are used to seeing her in romcoms and unimpressive thriller romances like Out of Sight.

   In The Mother, JLo takes our breaths away! She brings to life the character of an ex-special forces soldier who displays a mother's love in an unusual and captivating manner. She perfectly embodies the role of a hardcore and fiercely determined mother who would kill anyone who dares to threaten the safety of her child with exceptional skill and depth.

   I commend the director, Niki Caro, for the impressive action sequences and choreography. JLo gives her viewers adrenaline-pumping scenes from gripping car chases to sniper action and thrilling hand-to-hand combat. The way she swings a knife in a fight scene gives the impression that she's an action thriller expert. Who would have thought she could pull off this role perfectly?

   The cinematography and visual effects are top-notch and capture the energy and tension of each scene. The pacing is well-balanced making room for character development amidst the action.

   One area I would fault is the minimal backstory. There are few flashbacks but I wish this area was developed further so viewers can fully understand the deal of the villains, Héctor Álvarez and Adrian Lovell and why they were hell-bent on killing JLo and her screen daughter.

   All the same, this film is impressive for JLo's introduction to the world of action thrillers and I'm hoping we get to see her in more of such films. This is a great and action-packed film and I recommend it to every crime thriller lover. I give it 4 stars out of 5.

    Cuando se trata de la poderosa y talentosa Jennifer Lopez lo que se puede esperar de ella es siempre lo mejor, no solo sabe hacer espectáculos en cuanto a la rama de la música, también me ha demostrado y a muchos otros que su rol en la actuación es fenomenal, tanto así que la mayoría de las veces olvido que es cantante y sostengo esa mentalidad de que siempre ha estado allí dándome lo mejor en cada película donde es protagonista.

    Es increible para mi la serenidad en su puesta de escena, sabiendo que en cualquier momento la persecución puede terminar en un enfrentamiento de mano armada donde no importa quien seas, si estas cerca de ella debes morir para el villano.

    Lo osado es que ella está escapando no solo de un villano, hablamos de dos, y la sorpresa o más bien lo que me ha dejado bastante maravillado es que con ambos tuvo una relación que dio sus frutos.

    Queda claro que sus inicios fue un miembro de la milicia, que pues conoció a personas equivocadas, pero que esto mismo la llevo a poder tener cercanía con la corrupción.

    Su deber era sencillo, utilizar la piezas claves para que cada uno cayera por sí mismo sin ella tener que acudir a un efecto colateral, el problema pues, como les dije, que la falsa relación con ambos se extralimitó lo cual incurrió en un problema bastante notorio en la trama.

    The funny thing is that in this new plot she also has to protect someone very important, but as I told you it is no longer just about self-defense, she has the green light to kill if necessary, besides having the knowledge and skills to do it without taking unnecessary casualties.

    The daring thing is that she is escaping not just one villain, we are talking about two, and the surprise or rather what has left me quite amazed is that with both of them she had a relationship that paid off.

    It is clear that her beginnings were as a member of the militia, that she met the wrong people, but that this led her to be close to corruption.

    Her duty was simple, to use the key pieces so that each one fell by himself without having to resort to a collateral effect, the problem was, as I said, that the false relationship with both of them overreached which incurred in a quite notorious problem in the plot.

Pues la intimidad parte de ello, en demostrar que confías en el otro incluso en las cosas turbias que luego ella descubre por sí misma.

    One of the things that wasn't entirely clear to me is if she really had a penchant or pleasure inclination for either of the two or if it was just a play to build more confidence. For intimacy is part of it, in showing that you trust each other even in the shady stuff that she later discovers for herself.

    Me fascino las escenas que hicieron en Cuba, un poco mentiroso en cuanto a los efectos de acción, pero creo que de eso se trata el cine también de explotar esas herramientas que se tienen a mano, aunque tampoco fue algo tan exagerado, lo necesario para darle ese toque de poder a una mujer que está dispuesta a hacer lo que sea para proteger a su hija.

    Los niños no deben portar armas, sí estoy de acuerdo con que aprendan sobre defensa personal, pero no que sus manos se manchen de sangre, sin embargo aquí hay un sentido más simbólico, y es el hecho que el rol de JLo es de una mujer muy inteligente y asesina, algo que su hija demuestra tener también, más que todo esa capacidad para aprender rápido y la agilidad para pensar las cosas a pesar de que se pueda ver tosca.

    Children should not carry guns, yes I agree with them learning about self-defense, but not getting blood on their hands, however here there is a more symbolic sense, and that is the fact that JLo's role is that of a very intelligent and murderous woman, something her daughter proves to have as well, mostly that ability to learn fast and the agility to think things through even though she may look rough around the edges.
