Welcome my dear internet travelers lovers of misfortunes and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, I am a big fan of scary things, which is why it is not surprising that I am a follower of DrossRotzank (Highly recommended if you like the subject) I digress, the point is that he made a top on supernatural entities in which he highlighted one called "Mothman" where a film based on this event entitled "The Mothman Prophecies" was recommended, which talks about its history and so on. Without further ado, prepare to have prophecies about tragedies that we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros del internet amantes de las desgracias y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, soy muy fanático de las cosas de miedo es por ello que no es de sorprender que sea seguidor de DrossRotzank (Muy recomendado si les gusta el tema) estoy divagando, el punto es que hizo un top sobre entes sobrenaturales en el que destacó uno llamado el "Hombre polilla" en donde se recomendó una cinta basada en este hecho titulada "The Mothman Prophecies" que habla de su historia y demás. Sin más que agregar prepárense para tener profecías sobre tragedias que estamos por comenzar.

The Mothman Prophecies was released in 2002, it is based on the homonymous work written by the researcher and journalist John Keel, the tape was directed by Mark Pellington and produced by Lakeshore Entertainment, it has a duration of 1 hour and 59 minutes. It is a story based on real facts of terror and mystery, focuses on a reporter named John Klein who had a car accident with his wife, being that shortly after the latter loses his life as a result of a brain tumor, devastated by the loss John begins to look for among the things of the deceased woman and finds strange drawings of something she said that she saw the night of the accident, her search took him to a small town. AI, where much of its people claims to see the same being which predicts a tragedy.
The Mothman Prophecies fue estrenada en 2002, está basada en la obra homónima escrita por el investigador y periodista John Keel, la cinta fue dirigida por Mark Pellingtony y producida por Lakeshore Entertainment, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 59 minutos. Es una historia basada en hechos reales de terror y misterio, se enfoca en un reportero llamado John Klein quien tuvo un accidente automovilístico junto a su esposa, siendo que poco después esta última pierde la vida producto de un tumor cerebral, devastado por la pérdida John empieza a buscar entre las cosas de la fallecida mujer y encuentra dibujos extraños de algo que ella dijo que vio la noche del accidente, su búsqueda lo llevo a un pequeño pueblo llamado Point Pleasan, Virginia, en donde mucha de su gente dice ver al mismo ser el cual augura una tragedia.

The soundtrack is quite gloomy and it fosters an atmosphere of mystery in accordance with what is handled throughout the film, it remains consistent with everything that is worked on throughout the film.

La construcción de mundo se siente bien trabajada debido a que explora su contexto de forma interesante, a su vez, se le da importancia a la población del pequeño pueblo haciendo que el espectador se interese por los detalles que va dando la trama los cuales se encuentran plasmados en la ambientación que se tiene. Este es un apartado interesante, de buenas a primeras se tiene el hecho de que es basada en hechos reales lo que le da cierto halo de suspenso aún más potente, dejando lo anterior de lado está el hecho de que la narrativa está bien trabajada al punto de que mantiene el misterio siendo un misterio buscando contar una historia más que el hecho de proporcionar respuestas sobre el mismo, esta decisión hace que ese sentimiento de incertidumbre se transmita de forma correcta. Mencioné previamente la incredulidad expuesta de la gente ante el tema en general pero como está tiene peso también en la trama me parece acordé el hecho de también destacarlo aquí añadiendo el hecho de que expone diferentes discursos con respecto a las premoniciones de desgracias y la idea de si vale la pena o no hacer algo para intentar alertar al respecto, esto deja abierto cierto matiz filosófico sobre si sería conveniente arriesgar todo con tal de tratar de detener una catástrofe que afectará a posibles desconocidos.

En general todos los personajes que aparecen en pantalla se sienten interesante, todos se enfrentan a una entidad que no conocen y no logran comprender sus intenciones haciéndoles sentir muy humanos, por otro lado, deja ver algo de su vida para conocerles un poco y sentir más plausible como esos fenómenos les afectan en su día a día. El protagonista resulta en un personaje que atraviesa muchos inconvenientes y con el cual se puede empatizar precisamente por el hecho de sufrir dichos problemas, el hecho de que presente mucha confusión y miedo con respecto a lo que enfrenta lo hace sentir muy humano destacando así una caracterización bien lograda.
The Mothman Prophecies is not a film that tries to give answers or generate fear directly, it mainly seeks to capture a story with a lot of intrigue and bewilderment that to a certain extent is enough, you will see the form of social response to this type of circumstances, which makes it an interesting film. That is why it deserves 3.5 stars out of 7, a simple film with few ambitions that manages to meet the objectives it sets and tell the story it wants, if you like documentaries of paranormal events this will be a good proposal.
The Mothman Prophecies no es un filme que intente dar respuestas ni generar miedo de forma directa, busca mayormente plasmar una historia con mucha intriga y desconcierto que hasta cierto punto es bastante verás la forma de respuesta social ante este tipo de circunstancias lo que la hace una cinta interesante. Es por ello que merece 3.5 estrellas de 7, un filme sencillo y con pocas ambiciones que logra cumplir los objetivos que se propone y contar la historia que quiere, si les gustan los documentales de sucesos paranormales está será una buena propuesta.
