This is a biographical film about the history of the Boleyn sisters and their life during the period when they both met the King of England, Henry VIII, who became Anne Boleyn's husband after his divorce from Catherine of Aragon.

It is a story full of passion, pain, ambition and betrayal in which we can see how one of the most influential families of the time is destroyed and how power can be a very dangerous weapon when feelings are at stake.

On the other hand at that time the kings felt pressured to have an offspring and have a son, in the case that his wife could not give him children they looked for lovers to impregnate them, that is when the uncle of the Boleyn sisters who worked in the court of the king decided to get a lover for Henry and invited him to visit his brother's family to meet his nieces, with the intention that Anne would become that woman.

Being the king's mistress was not seen in a derogatory way; on the contrary, many wished to have the title and enjoy the economic benefits. Of the Boleyn sisters, Mary was already married and living apart with her husband while Anne was the unmarried one, but the king set his eyes on Mary and became infatuated in a way that forced her to be his mistress, strangely enough, sending Mary's husband to the front lines of battle while she was part of the court of his own wife Catherine, The young Mary did not understand what was happening or did not want to understand that it had all been a plan for her to become the king's mistress and sooner or later she succeeded and in the end Mary fell in love with Henry and he fell in love with her to a certain extent.

Films that deal with the history and life of kings usually have impeccable cinematography where the costumes play an important role. The whole atmosphere is simply beautiful, showing the gardens and castles of the time.

Watching this film motivated me to investigate and read about the history of these characters, incredibly Henry VIII married 6 times 😱, divorced, widowed, and sent to the guillotine two of his wives accused of adultery. 😵‍💫

The performances of the Boleyn sisters Anne (Natalie Portman) and Mary (Scarlett Johansson) and King Henry (Eric Bana) were full of expression, intense scenes, power and passion.

If you didn't know it was based on real events, you would think it was fiction, as it shows how ambition and envy can destroy a family, forgetting their past and the love they had for each other.

The main character, Ana, leaves us a message and teaches us that ambition and greed are bad feelings that lead us down dark paths, bringing out the worst part of our being, affecting even the people who love us.

No resources were spared in the production of this film, it has a cast of excellent quality and a well told story, many times I lost my breath because of the events and did not believe that at some point it was real, I enjoyed the whole production and I invite you to watch it and enjoy it.
