  1. The Thing 1982 - Review@kapitanrosomak2199d

The Thing is a remake of the 1951 movie, but it is Johnn Carpenter's film that is better known. Both films are a loose adaptation of the book of the same title, but today I will deal with the film from 1982 j2gb77.jpg The film builds climate music, which appears from time to time, is as recognized as the famous music from Halloween. The Thing or if you prefer Something starts when a dog escapes somewhere in the Arctic, followed by a Norwegian helicopter who wants to kill a poor dog. Eventually, the dog manages to reach the American Arctic base and here the horror begins.

__Nothing scares like a stranger in an Arctic base, and members are cut off from the world when the radio breaks down.__

The film slowly builds tension enough to fool the viewer.

No one is safe because the creature that was hiding in the dog's body quickly changed its host and can assimilate with everyone creating an almost perfect copy. wcvkub.jpg

The whole crew is in danger, no one knows how to fight something that seems like it looks like our good friend. ravi94.jpg

The film builds tension from the first minutes of the film to the last and shows the horror so strong that I don't think I will go on a trip to the Arctic.

Nothing is more frightening than vulnerability, alien change carriers, and the fewer they are, the more the accusations and chaos begin.

The finale is great to the end, when the viewer stays with this small dose of distrust, maybe ends well.

I will not tell you minute by minute because it's one of those movies that is worth seeing even if you don't like SF cinema but you like a good horror movie that can scare you in the least expected coin without a jumpscar.

The film is also a brilliant role of Kurt Russell, who, as a member of the base, plays great, you can see that it is a role written for him. aqcg9f.jpg

As for special effects, I will say one year 1982 no one created better and more frightening special effects than this film, many movies can now look at this work and know that it will never achieve at least half of such effects because you know now everything is created by computer.

The story which is presented here is coherent and there are no story holes in it so the viewer will feel satisfied watching. The story itself is an attempt to survive to the end and fight a monster that can be anyone. gtrega.jpg I have not seen the original, nor have I read the book, although the book has recently been published thanks to the Polish publishing house Vesper. You have to admit that the cover is very atmospheric tzd0tl.jpg However, I saw a prequel that tells about the Norwegians, i.e. the whole action before the events of 1982, and I will say so, the film of the same title was made in 2011 and was not bad, although it lacked the climate of powerlessness so well outlined in this older version.

I will also add here one of the best parodies that has ever been created, you probably associate the funny penguin pingu, so what would happen if the pingu in his winter land met The Thing

I recommend you to find out if you like a good cinema that scares you by serving tasteful scenes so that the viewer is scared but at the same time wants more, so you have to watch it today :)
